My husband and I went to Elk Ravine yesterday and I am still giddy from our experience. We took a beautiful horse-drawn carriage ride, cuddled countless animals, and learned a ton. The hands on experience you get here is just incredible - it’s just you and the animals, nothing separating you from them. The cows are so sweet and so loved. Jim and Kathy are so kind and make you feel right at home. Their relationship with each animal is unique and comes with a story, allowing you to feel that much more connected to the farm. It was well worth our 5+ hours of travel, and I already can’t wait to go back. The best day of my life! 😊

Elk ravine farm is a wonderful place to visit. Jim and Kathy are good people, knowledgeable and provide a really enjoyable experience. You will meet goats, giant beautiful horses, similar to Clydesdales (sorry Jim I’m forgetting what they’re called), the most sweet cows, some personal favorites are midnight, Noel , tangerine, and Elmo. Expect to feed, brush, pet, and cuddle with them. We also had a really nice carriage ride and a history lesson on carriage cars. Highly recommend booking a tour. I will most certainly be back!!!

If you’re looking for an interactive animal experience you cannot find anywhere else, this is the place to go. my friends and I came here to look at the highland cows, but we were greeted with much more (Kathy’s ADORABLE corgis, a squad of geese, and peacocks). Kathy took us on a tour while discussing the history of the farm and how it started with Jim and his environmental mission. Then, Jim took us on a tour around the farm where we got to interact with the animals while he explained his caring and love with his animals. You can genuinely tell he’s passionate about what he does. Not to mention, the farm is extremely well maintained which goes to show how well they’re cared for. We got to see rabbits, Pygmy goats, water buffalo, multiple breeds of horses, and of course highland cows. We ended the tour with Jim showing his collection of carriages. Elk ravine exceeded our expectations and I would 100% come back again!

The most memorable experience you will ever have at a farm!! Jim and Kathy are not only knowledgeable about the animals, but their empathy and genuine love for them is something so beautiful to see. My friend and I learned so much and had a such a wonderful time. From the carriage ride with Dilly to meeting the newest member of their family (a 3 day old water Buffalo) we were so captivated and in awe of this place. We look forward to returning in the VERY near future. Thank you, Jim and Kathy! God bless you and your work.

Watch out animal lovers, you won’t want to leave this farm! Jim and Kathy gave the most interactive, educational tour you could ask for. We toured the farm and surrounding area in a carriage, and met all of the animals. Up close and personal is an understatement, expect to hold the sweetest goats, lead a line of geese, and pet donkeys, horses, and highland cows! Jim and Kathy ensure the animals have the most ethical living conditions and raised them to be extremely comfortable around humans. Truly an unforgettable experience, I would love to go back!

For my birthday, my girlfriend surprised me with a trip to elk ravine farm… for my love of cows.. we left there in awe! Not only is the land just beautifully kept, all the animals were amazing they have water buffalos, highland cows, geese, goats, mini donkeys, the most majestic horses I have seen& more! This small family owned farm truly educates you on the land, the animals, & carriages. Our favorite part was the education! The highland cows are so quirky with the funniest personalities, the horses are giants but so sweet. I will be returning hopefully in the spring when it’s not as cold, I’ll bring my daughters next time.

To say this was a once in a lifetime experience would be a lie— as we fully expect to come back many more times! We had the most heartwarming and wholesome time with all the animals. Jim and Kathy’s love and passion for their animal family was ever present throughout the tour. They constantly reassured us that this was not just a seeing tour but an interactive one, giving us ample time to connect and cuddle! From the serene carriage ride, geese tour guides, and petting sessions with the baby goats and fluffy cows; the experience was intimate, well curated, and just perfect. I cannot recommend this place enough, this was a one of a kind tour and hope many others can experience this joy!
