Great place to hangout with family and friends. We were able to get there by boat from CMS which cost N500 per head. On arriving at the venue on a sunday afternoon, we paid a gate fee of N300. Football and volleyball pitch available. You can also learn ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ surfing. Horse riding cost N2,000 per ride Beach bike cost N2,000 per ride Sit out tents starts from N1000 per seat depending on the comfort you are looking for.

This beach gave me Correct beach vibes, it was a very relaxing atmosphere, it wasn't overcrowded like other beaches and the water was clean. It is well maintained. If you need a beach to relax from all the noise of day to day activities, then Tarkwa Bay should be your go to.

You can experience a serene beach environment from a less chaotic perspective โ€ฆ the villagers are friendly the children are smart and sometimes cunning tho โ€ฆ try eating the local food there itโ€™s cheaper if you buy the food per hundred naira

First time here in like forever and it was fun. You take a boat ride to the beach and depending on the point where you take the boat, the price varies. I took a boat ride from Napex car park and I paid 2000 naira(4.81 USD). When you get to the beach, you pay a gate fee of 500 naira (1.20 USD), these prices are as at August 2022. The beach is really nice, a good place for hangout with friends and family. It is also a nice place to bring kids. There are activities such as football, surfing, horse back riding, beach bike and a lot of nice spot to take pictures.

Nice beach, more nice because it's only accessible by canoe boat which is 25mins at least so that's a plus to whoever loves to be on water. Nice workers at the beach, very friendly. The BUT is that the Cabanas needs to be renovated.

I love it because you will enter the boat to cross to the other side to where the beach is, I also saw big ships, yatch and so on. The beach is bit too crowded with people. There's so much fun there...

Simply beautiful beach. Good for day trip. Night stay can be expensive in nearby resorts/guest houses. 10-15 minutes boat ride from any Jetty in Ikoyi. Beach huts, coconuts all need to be pre negotiated to avoid clashes. During our first trip, we met with the local youth association President and the guy was very helpful.

I love serenity and this beach affords me just that, especially when I visit at off-peak periods. A boat ride to the location costs N500/trip from the Marina Jetty (C.M.S Lagos). Entrance fee is N300/adult and free for children. The charge for a seat or tent space ranges from N500 to N1,000 per person depending on your bargaining skill. Best to come with your meals and some extra cash to avail yourself of extra fun like horse riding, quad-biking & buying of artefacts. I should be visiting again very soon.

Tarwa Bay๐Ÿ˜ Take me back there. The boat ride was fun! It's advisable to go in a group. Play games and crack jokes. They have 'janglovers' for kids, and quad bikes. I guess that's all. Go and have fun ๐Ÿคฃ

The experience on water while heading to the beach was chill, if you're really scared please don't seat at the edge. There are stop points where the military search and all The beach is more organised and neat now, you'd have fun. Has nice scenery then there are guys selling beads and really nice stuff that looks ancient and local

I loved it here. A very calm beach. There are tents and lounges in case you want to hang out with friends or hold a small party. If you don't plan to spend the night, you have to leave the beach latest by 7pm because the military men on the waters leading back to cms will not allow your boat to pass. You cannot get to this beach by road, you have to pass through the water.

I had an amazing experience here!!!!! My God, I felt like my inner child was set free, ugh๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Playing with the water, writing my name in the sand, running from the waves, I loved it so much. I went with a group of friends, we had booked our visit days prior to our arrival but there was a bit of confusion so we had to wait for it to be settled before we were let in, but everything after that was blissful. Things to note as a first timer: Come with change of clothes, always have an eye on your belongings, donโ€™t collect alcohol from strangers, theyโ€™re stray dogs on the beach, they wonโ€™t bother you but just be aware of them. Iโ€™ll rate my experience a 10/10

Itโ€™s a nice spot to hand out and play with friends and/or family. Thereโ€™s a compulsory gate fee of 500 naira. You have activities like horse riding and car racing. I would advise you go with your meal or whatever you plan on having as they donโ€™t have nice meals nor options to choose from, XOXO

On ๐ŸŒŽ Earth Day 2019, the team Lagos local guides decided to celebrate it by doing a Tarkwa Bay beach cleanup. The beach provides a serene environment where you can come relax and have fun, but it has been polluted by plastics and bottles which poses a threat to life Below Water. The cleanup exercise was fun, as we also create awareness of doing a proper sanitation of the beach.

Honestly this beach is just over hyped. So you have to take a speed boat (N500) to the beach, like the life jackets looks dead dirty, some unkempt stuff laidat, sorry lets continue. Then you get there and the entrance fee is N200 (yes it is, don't let anyone swindle you). Then we get to the point where we have to pay N500 per seat!, not only that, you also pay for tent.. Or better still just used the bar and patronize them (it's quite affordable tho). on the rocks, the view is beautiful (for pictures), Go-karting is fun too (costs about N1000 per ride). The water is dirty, Hei God... Like so much dirt at the edge of the water. Long story short, go with friends, cook, take drinks cos Its more fun

I had a wonderful stroll on Tarkwa bay beachย from the beginning to the end. Easy place to have a nice day. Tarkwa bay beach can be access by boat. Much fun up to 30mins drive to the beach. I took a whole day touring the entire village. Saw many things. Will love to revisit here for a paid trip lol. Much fun. Lord you are the most high song was sang on this beach. Palm wine, suya ,crafts etc are available here. My second beach tour.

You absolutely have to experience it. The boat ride is epic. You feel like you're in a Nigerian action film with the way the boat zips across the water surface. Phew! Then you get there and it's a beach. You know. Lovely waves, they have accommodations for rent. Bit on the pricey side but what do you expect. We had good vibes

Tarkwa bay is a resort place to be. Your experience starts from the boat ride from the island to the beach. The beach is partly own by the Nigeria Navy, so it makes the place conducive and serene. A lot of site attraction available, football pitch, volleyball, horse riding, beach front, sit-out tents, dirt road bikes, hotel accomodation... From deluxe reservation (ranging from 125k-150k per night), to low range reservation (starting from 2k - 15k per night). Need a tourist guide? Contact me. WhatsApp only (+2347017226754) Enjoy premium experience. I love this place.

I loved it here! I have heard so much about it before visiting, mostly bad reports. I was convinced by my friend to visit and I must say I loved it! Accessibility- the beach is not accessible at all! The beach is not accessible by land, so, you have to take a boat from one of the Jetties in Lagos. After the boat arrives at the Tarkwa bay Jetty, there is no wheelchair ramp, where you can go into the beach from A welcoming environment The people who manage this beach, mainly people from the village are very warm and welcoming, almost like they have been expecting you all the while. Beach wears and accessories You literally can leave work and come here, there is everything you need to buy here; swim wear, scarves, sunglasses, etc Food There is food and other grills Water What I love most about this beach is the water, it's so gentle, I mean, it felt like I was in a swimming pool. I stayed in the water for over 1 hour, never have I tried that in any other beach in Lagos because of the strong waves Activities There is a wide range of activities going on here; Jet ski, Kayaking, etc. There are people right there to offer you floaters or you can even learn how to swim Shed There is a shed where you can lounge of you donโ€™t want to swim Changing room To change as a lady, you have to pay about 100 naira to change in one of the shacks. As you are about leaving, there are water taxis waiting where you could make a good bargain to take you back to land

Breathtaking ๐Ÿฅฐ So it's advisable to go in a group if you're taking the boat from CMS ferry so as not to wait for a long time waiting for people to fill up the boat especially morning. Ride wasn't the best but I got to the beach in one piece ๐Ÿ˜‚ I loved everything bout it here, from the blue sky to the tents, chairs, then the ocean ๐ŸŒŠ it was worth the delay tbh. I didn't want to leave ๐Ÿ˜Š

Tarkwa Beach is one place that keeps drawing you in. Once you've visited, you'll want to go again and again. You'll have enough time to interact with nature in a very calm environment, devoid of the noise from the outside world. Mostly peaceful and quiet, though you'll have to provide your own fun, be it going into the water or music/food, as the options are quite limited. If you're up for a fun/daring (for those who aren't very friendly with water) boat ride, then you should dust your feet and visit this beauty of nature.

The experience was totally great. At first, I was quite nervous about the boat ride because of the manner in which the water waves make us unstable as we all stepped into the boat but the ride was actually interesting. However, water is weirdly known to have its own speed bumps or potholes or whatever so, brace yourself. The Tarkwa beach view is also beautiful. I didn't get a chance to watch the sunset though, had to go home early, but I'm sure it would have been lovely. Then the relaxing shades are also quite nice. The seats are comfortable, trust me. As usual, a beach can be really spacious so that would not be news. Then there's the bike ride. It went for 2000 but we could beat it down to 1000 naira per ride as about 23rd September, 2020 (in case you go after a sort of inflation or otherwise takes place). Then you can also sit on the rocks by the other side of the shore and take really nice photos. What I can't review now is the food. Although I saw a lot of vendors, I didn't get to buy from them because they weren't exactly ready at that time. So I think the food part is usually available in the evenings. Enjoy!

I took time to visit this wonderful beach and I can say for sure that the place I good for rexalation. The only thing needed to be done is for government to invest in the area and make it more attractive for the citizens and non-citizens who visit the place often. It is gradually coming back to life since after the pandemic.

Nice view for pictures, easy and safe transit....the Beach is usually quiet weekdays and a bit crowdy on weekends. Could be used for events like proposals, picnic/beach birthday party, group/team outings, beach weddings, etc. If you're going to the beach budget #2,000 per head (i.e for ferry fee, gate fee and shed fee)

Good beach. Has quite a lot to offer. Quad bike, horses, hiking, etc. You need a boat to get to the island beach. Gate fees are โ‚ฆ500 at the time of my visit Boat charge here is average of โ‚ฆ1,000 per trip. There is the presence of armed military security. Best to come with your food, you can get drinks here, but your choices may be limited. โ‚ฆ1,000 per seat but you can get discount with a large number. I like to buy art works, crafts and fabric local clothes here

I like this beach so much, because of the location and reserved nature,in few year to come with this Eko Atlantic coming up,this beach may become a restricted resort to a certain class of people..

  • 4/5 Anwuli Joy A. 3 years ago on Google
    Great beach

  • 5/5 Nathaniel O. 3 years ago on Google
Since its been managed by the militants, there are rules guiding the sites.. But trust me, it's still lovely there and all kept clean..

Boat ride was nice and cheap, entry fees also. However the cost of feeding, chair and hut etc depends on your bargaining power

Too much trash at the shore and in the water, it isn't what its like compared to 20 years ago

  • 5/5 Ahamefule A. 3 years ago on Google

Cheapest Beach I've Ever Been To In Lagos, NG. Clean, Crazy Waves & Sea Breeze. I Love That U Can Only Get To The Bay By Water. Loved My Time There At The Beach House With Good Music, Food &, Quad Bikes!

Bare. You'll have to bring your own "fun" and the bay water aint clean .. there's a beach further in if you can take a little walk... Also bare but the water is clean.

Your place to escape from the madness of Lagos.

  • 3/5 Martins B. 2 years ago on Google
The beach is really nice judging from the fact that the entrance fee is just 300 naira but youโ€™d ferry there for about 1000 naira and youโ€™re allowed to take your stuff into the beach. Beach is a bit dirty and closes down by 8pm. Lovely place to with friends.

  • 5/5 Covenant 2 years ago on Google
The beach here is actually great and the environment generally is one of the better ones in Lagos.

While the boat ride was quite scary and the boats mediocre at best, the beach itself was fun and offered lots of things and activities

  • 5/5 Seun O. 2 years ago on Google
It was a great experience with fellow Local guide in Lagos. Took a boat ride from Bonny Camp Jetty to the beach. The journey lasted for over twenty minutes. The waters, the clouds, the trees, the nature, and the people are all amazing as I sat down to watch and adore the beauty of the beach

A safe haven for enjoyment, relaxation and catching fun. Unlike most beaches in Lagos, it's only accessible by water from CMS jetty or the jetty under the bridge near NAPEX car park behind US Embassy. Gives you a great view of part of the Atlantic ocean, a peep of some amazing high rise structures inside Eko Atlantic city and some beautiful sight of large sea vessels moving across. I really enjoyed myself here; Swimmed, played volleyball and caught the fun I could.

It's a lovely beach, went there with my girl and some of her family members. It's a good beach for relaxations and fun catching..

Nice experience and quite adventurous also. I'd recommend you eat something before going or carry your food. The outer part of the beach is dirty but when you get to the private side, you'd enjoy it. There are fun filled activities to indulge in and enjoy in takwa bay

  • 4/5 Bolaji Y. 1 year ago on Google
The environment was serene and security is guaranteed as naval officers were on patrol repeatedly

  • 1/5 Emmanuel O. 8 months ago on Google
It wasnโ€™t what I expected, the beach water seems dirty, the nightlife is full of mosquitoes and other flying insects. I got home having swollen body due to mosquitoes bite, no proper meal or drinks served

  • 4/5 Pee 7 months ago on Google
The experience here we will neva forget...was a 1 day get away birthday trip.... atmosphere at the beach is ๐Ÿ’ฏ The rooms are terrible....except the ones by the Stone Hill side... DO NOT BOOK ROOMS THROUGH ANY AGENT! GO YOUR SELF ELSE U WILL BE PAYING 2XCE PRICE. DO NOT EVEN GO WIT AN AGENT...THEY CALL AHEAD TO LIE. Aside that, I will be going back there for weekend getaways

  • 5/5 Tiffany M. 5 months ago on Google
The beach is clean and calm. Not like the regular beaches where they play loud music with a crowded audience. The environment is quite sane but you can play your music.

  • 5/5 olaiya o. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful scenery. Nice beach, a serene environment. Never get enough enjoyment. A very lovely place to blow off some steam

  • 5/5 Amir J. 5 months ago on Google
This beach is a haven of tranquility, a stark departure from the boisterous, crowded beaches that blast music. However, the setting remains open to personal musical choices.

  • 5/5 Moses N. 5 months ago on Google
This is a true definition of nature's gentle touch, it's like the beauty of the entire universe originated from here.
