    The receptionists here are the most incompetent people I have ever come across. Not only can they be rude at times, but they seem incapable of sending referrals by fax (even though they lie and say they have), lose repeat prescription records, and purposefully ignore the phone when it rings (they mute it, it just flashes until the poor person calling gives up). Some of the GPs are good, and all of the nurse practitioners I have seen through the walk in service are excellent. The receptionists, however, need immediate firing. It might just be a job to them, but they are dealing with people’s health and well-being; it’s outrageous that they behave the way they do, and should face consequences like the patients they affect have to.

    No-one ever seems to write positive comments. When service is good few people ever review so I want to share my experience. I have had nothing but great service from this GP practise. Although sometimes there is a queue on the phone (the old phone system used to just hang up whilst waiting) they have a new phone system that gives you a queue number so you know roughly how long the wait will be. The receptionists, practise nurse and doctors have been nothing but professional each and every time I have visited them. The receptionists have always been so helpful chasing repeat prescriptions, test results etc. When the walk in centre was here it was manic due to countless people waiting but as this has now moved to the hospital it is much calmer. I want to say thank you to all of the staff here, you do an amazing job in difficult circumstances. The NHS is a wonderful thing and people should remember the receptionists doctors and nurses are people too - don't take your frustrations out on them they are human and deserve to be treated as such.

    Worst gp service ever!!! Do not join!!! The blue area especially! Rude staff. No one answers the phone ever. It will just ring out and you can’t even leave a message or alternatively contact any other way so they expect you to go walk to the surgery to book, cancel or change appointments. Its ridiculous.... The stupid recorded message is so long too before the call starts even ringing. Annoying when you cant get through and have to constantly listen to it just to get through. Can never get an appointment on time always ‘fully booked’ apparently.

    I reached out to a doctor from this place on Tuesday, after someone tried to kill me with an electric drill. The doctor didn't listen, only heard what she had to write on the pc. Said what do you want me to do about it, go to victim support, I only have 10 minutes! When asked, shall I just call you some other time then about the injuries, she actually said yes !! Not for the first time have I been been disgusted with the attitude of the staff here. And don't get me started on reception & their 8am rule. No exceptions, even if you have found a lump in your breast. Do not use this practice. They will make you ill themselves with the stress they cause you.

    Referred here after I refused to go A&E and the ACU nurse had concerns as I have COVID, CEV and chest pain. I knew I was fine however an urgent referral was sent just to ensure that my stats are fine as I am even more prone to PE with testing positive. Doctor kept asking receptionist to call me saying there is not any point in me attending, after 3 phone calls agreed to see me. As soon as he entered he was dismissive, rude and downplayed my health, basically said there is nothing that he can do if I were to get worse. Stated that my chest is totally clear and I'm perfectly fine. Such a contrast to the 111 Doctors and Nurses I spoke to; its always best to over-care than under-care. My health conditions are lifelong and individuals like this are the ones who make me lose confidence and put my life at risk as I can't trust them to have 1% of humanity or at least fulfil their DUTY. I should have opted for gotodoc at Wythenshawe.

    The receptionists who work here are an absolute joke. Rude, disgustingly stupid and have zero empathy! Such a terrible service if you have severe problems please save yourself the distress and don’t go here I’ve had so many different problems with this surgery.

    If I could give this practice zero stars I would, I think the only positive I can give is that some of the receptionists are lovely, very polite and willing to listen to problems, there is one who unfortunately lets them down as she is incredibly rude. The practice never has any available appointments even when rang at 8am in the morning, they’re already fully booked by the time you manage to get through at 8:10am. They only ever seem to have one doctor on, who is very unhelpful and doesn’t treat medical problems in the correct manner, or have follow up appointments to see if what he’s prescribed is helping. There nurse is a locom who is never there or able to see anyone. My daughters injections were delayed by 3 months due to this and I had no choice but to send her into a childcare setting without her up to date vaccinations. I’m having to have out of hours appointments at other practices as this one is unable to accommodate. I only joined this practice as I moved out of the boundary of my old practice, and now I’m currently looking for another doctors as I’ve had the same ongoing issue for 3 years with no help from this practice. I would avoid at all costs and hopefully they’ll up there standards.

    Tried to ring ahead for my wife as she was stuck in traffic due to an accident and was left in a call queue for 20 minutes. My wife arrived late for her appointment and they told here she should have rung ahead. Had they answered their phone at all they would have been aware but turned her away from an appointment it took nearly a month to get. An absolute disgrace and badly run, can't blame the NHS for a surgery without the right technology or staff.

    I absolutely hate this surgery. Its been over 2 months just trying to make a medication review appointment, they would ring 10 mins before the appointment and cancel it but not eventually we hadtochangetheGP. I'd ask everyone to change their GP right now.

    Oh dear all these one star reviews, I am wondering do these people visit the same clinic I use, the one I get repeat medication from every month, the one who supply a fit note every month, the one where the staff always smile and say hello, the one that send sms to your phone to update on things when ready to collect. I can only imagine the people writing these reviews come from the I want it now brigade. There is one review who mentions 111 nurses and Doctors sent them to clinic and Doctor said they were fine. 111 staff are not Nurses and Doctors they just read from a script. The staff here have been great with me very helpful all year, I have seen them under stress from those patients who demand or the ones on the phone who will not end the call. It is not the staff with the problem it is the patients. I do hope they enjoyed the Chocolates I took in. I wonder how many people will complain there eating chocolates on duty. Keep up the good work

    I waited over 1 month for an appointment I had. I called them to double check the time and place, and they gave me the wrong address. When I arrived at the right place (late of course) since I had to drive around, they told I had lost my appointment and to contact the GP. They just said "sorry it was a mistake", but the one who lost said appointment was me, and they did absolutely nothing to fix it.

    I would not recommend this GP. Never can get a routine/emergency appointment or my prescription. When my symptoms become worse I have to go hospital due to not being able to see a doctor.

    I can honestly say that in the past couple of months this GP have really made improvements. Thea is an amazing doctor who follows up appointments and makes sure she’s treating problems correctly, she’s is very thorough and compassionate. The receptionist I’ve recently had contact with have also been brilliant and incredibly helpful. Very appreciative of the care I received over Christmas and into the new year. Thank you!

    Can't fault the whole GP services. The various Doctors I've seen have all been attentive and knowledgeable, the Practice Nurses can't do enough for you and the receptionists are courteous/professional and the whole surgery is spotlessly clean. I'm glad I'm a patient here. All staff, please keep up the brilliant work!

    I cannot speak too highly of Ashton GP Service. Everyone has been great to me. Receptionists are polite, despite undoubted pressures for appointments. GPs have been very attentive to my health needs. I have no complaints.

😠 Very poorly run doctors when are receptionist especially at this practice going to realise they are not doctors and deciding for themselves who can and can't be seen and been very rude on the phone if you except people to be polite on phone at all times then you need to do the same.
