Kashi Vishwanath is one of the oldest temples of Lord Shiva. It's a perfect place to spend your time peacefully and pray. You will experience really good vibes inside and around the temple. Temple is connected to the famous ghats of Varanasi. You can get some mouthwatering food near the temple and one can enjoy shopping in the nearby market. It's a must-visit place for everyone.

The best time to visit a temple is in the early morning and in winter ☃️❄️. You do not have to wait in the queue for long. Locker 🔒 facilities are available free of the cost by the temple trust where you can keep your bags and electronic devices as they are not allowed in the temple. Free 🔐 are available approximately 50-100 meter before the gate no 4. If you are not able to find a free locker then paid locker 🔒 facilities are available where you have to purchase 🌺🌹 or prasada and the store person keep you mobile 📱 and other electronic devices. These lockers are safe as they returned my mobiles 📱 safely 😊

I live in varanasi. And with experience I can say that, when I went, after the corridor formation, it was a fabulous experience. I was stunned to see the priceless view of the temple. I would appreciate the work, because there is a multi level bike parking only 20 rs per 3 hours. And you can park cars in private car parking zones, these are also very cheap. The facilities available inside the temple are great, but as in every other temple, this also gets crowded a lot.

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in Vishwanath Gali of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh in India. The temple stands on the western bank of the holy river Ganga, and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Shiva temples. The main deity is known by the names Shri Vishwanath and Vishweshwara (IAST: Vishveshvara or Vishveshvur) literally meaning Lord of the Universe. Varanasi was called Kashi ("shining") in ancient times, and hence the temple is popularly called Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This place needs no feedback or review. This place is the heart of the city Varanasi. But just a advice what i got to know from the local people is, before visiting any other place in the city of Varanasi, one must and mandatorily pay a visit to Lord Kaal Bhairav temple. He is known to be the dwarpal of the entire city and he is the one whom one should pay a visit without going anywhere else. Else, this place is well maintained by the government and also government lockers are provided for the safety of the belongings. Prior booking must be done for getting an entry.

Nothing more to say than a life long experience. It’s a place which creates or revolves certain power to anyone who visit the place. One can’t just explain the place simply through words than being there. One of the cleanest place I have seen. Absolutely amazing place. No words are enough to describe how much the place is worth off. Simply great.

Whether we wander around the narrow alleys of Vishwanath Gali or stroll at the Ganga Ghats, Varanasi always remains and an interesting and intriguing place for us. This ancient city of India also said to older than history itself is frequented by people from all over the world seeking spiritual answers. It is in the Ghats of Varanasi that you can see the cycle of life and death being repeated everyday! Love it hate it, but you cannot ignore Varanasi. No review can describe Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. all I can say In order to really understand something you must experience it!

Kashi Vishwanath temple is one of the twelve jyotirlinga. It was great experience to visit here. You have to keep everything outside the temple except phool and mithai as you are not allowed to take them in. Kashi ghats are well maintained. They are much more cleaner than before. Currently the whole temple is under construction but in upcoming days it's gonna look awesome 🙂

Kashi Vishwanath Temple is a spiritual haven, nestled in the heart of Varanasi. Its ancient architecture and sacred ambiance create a profound experience. Devotees immerse themselves in the divine energy, seeking solace amidst the vibrant rituals. The sacred Ganges River flows nearby, enhancing the spiritual significance. However, the temple's popularity can lead to overwhelming crowds, affecting the serene atmosphere. Despite this, the temple remains a symbol of Hindu spirituality, attracting pilgrims worldwide. A visit to Kashi Vishwanath offers a glimpse into India's rich cultural and religious tapestry, leaving visitors with a sense of awe and reverence.

The most holiest place i have ever visited in my life. Everything so beautiful. The temple is the most satisfying place anyone can ever go. I went there through boat. I will upload the boat pictures. You will find it so amazing and beautiful. You only have to keep your phone and the things you have brought in the locker which is of free. You dont have to take out belts or watches or wallets. Inside the temple in the centre is God Shiva. He is so beautiful. There are almost 8 gates for cues. You can stand on any line. Once you visit Baba Bholenath dont forget to say what you want to pray to Lord shiva in Nandi ji's ear. Say it in the left ear and close the right ear. There are many different temples inside Kashi Vishwanath temple. Such as Badrinarayan, Ganga maa, Big Nandi ji's statue. The place is so holy and so beautiful that you wont like to come back. Har har Mahadev Om namah shivaay.

Wonderful place, looks very beautiful at night, when under lights are on, looks like heaven on earth. Just be sure whenever you go, you will find many people with too costly prasad, at some outside place. So better stay away from them and take your own prasad.

What could be written about a Jyotirlinga.. I am not capable to write. Yes one thing that after modification there are ample place and cleanliness inside the temple and you should stay inside the temple with your family. Moreover no phone , bags, watches etc are allowed. Just leave your hotel bare footed and with wallet and some flowers milk for worship nothing else or otherwise in the name of keeping your sleeper ,purse wallet you will be charged 100 or more without any cause.

Kashi Vishwanath is one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India. This temple is located on the bank of the river and next to Manikarnika Ghat. Vehicles are not allowed at a radius of 1-2 km of the temple location. At present, Temple is under renovation This temple is safeguarded by multiple security forces around the clock. Temple Complex is under construction and there are no proper queue lines established currently, queue lines are made through the streets of Kashi Vishwanath Gali. It is believed that people who visit Kashi need to attend Mangal Arathi which starts at 3 AM in the morning For this, we need to take a ticket which costs 350/-.Based on the crowd Kashi Vishwanath trust will release the number of managal Arathi tickets. Mangal Arathi queue lines will begin at 12 Am and security forces allow inside the temple at 2:55 AM .it's like first come first serve. People who are front able to see Baba Kashi Vishwanath Mangal arathi. Sparsha darshan is available morning from 3:30 to 4:30 and evening from 6 to 7 . If there is a crowd they may extend the sparsha darshan timings. Phones or any electronic gadgets, or metal items other than the keys are not allowed inside the temple premises. Coming to lockers, Trust is providing lockers at gate 3 which is near to ghat side entrance but this gate is not convenient for people. so people mostly prefer gate1 and gate2 or Gate4 At these gates, you don't have any locker facility provided by the trust so you need to either choose a shop nearby or keep your belongings at your hotel. In case, if you're depositing your belongings nearby shop may ask you to purchase any pooja item and they won't charge for your belongings. Temple is more crowded on Sunday or any special occasion. so plan accordingly. Attend Ganga Arathi at Dr.Rajendhar prasad Ghat and it starts at 6:30 Pm or 7 PM.Ganga Arathi timings are changed frequently. My experience: I forgot all my worries, and grief during my stay at Varanasi.Felt blessed. Few places to visit in Varanasi 1. Annapurna Devi (Adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath Temple ) 2. Vishalakshi temple --Shakthi Peeta - It is 500 mts away from the Main temple. We need to walk through Narrow streets 3. Varahi Devi --Grama Devata - 800 Mts away from the Main temple and near Varahi Ghat.Temple timings: 5:30 Am - 9:30 Am 4. Kala Bhairava --1.7km from the Main temple. we can go there by electric Rikshwa. 5. Mrityunjay Mahadev --2km from the Main temple and adjacent to Kala Bhairava 6. Shri Durga Temple -- 3km from the Main temple. you have plenty of Riskshwa available from godowlia chowk. 7. Kaudi Mata Temple (Gavalamma Temple) --3Km from the Main temple and adjacent to Shri Durga Temple 8.Shri Satynarayan Tulsi Manas Mandir --3km from the Main temple and it is next to Shri Durga Temple9. Sankatmochan Temple --4Km from the Main temple and its lies on the same line as Shri Durga Temple

The temple is majestic and well maintained. Average 2-3 hours to get Darshan. There is proper food court and other basic amenities within the premises. Proper locker system to keep your mobile phones as not allowed inside the temple.

5 star rating is still less for this place considering that it is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. However the arrangements at the temple are extremely poor. As of 24th August 2020, there is not even a place to keep your belongings safely. You have to keep it at one of those private shops, and they try to sell you a lot of things that you don't want to buy. Apart from that, there is no space to sit in the temple area for some time and meditate. Pandits at the temple keep requesting you to give large sums of money as donations for this or that which, I feel, is wrong. The purpose of visiting a Jyotirlinga is not just to give some donations and ask for the well-being of your family, but it is to sit in the presence of the energized Linga and meditate for as long as you can. There are no arrangements to do that right now. Also I feel a devotee should donate based on his/her wish, and should not be pushed to give large sums of money. There is some construction going on at the temple to extend its courtyard which is a great thing. Hopefully after it is completely constructed it will be easier for visitors like me. Looking forward to see positive changes when I visit Shri Baba Vishwanath next time. Jai Baba Vishwanath!

What I can say it's an experience beyond words. Well we have waited 2-3 long hours in the line with others to visit the temple after visiting we have feel that the waiting is worth to witness the spirituality of Kashi Vishwanath. The security system is really good, you can't bring phone wallet with you so you have to keep them in the temples drawers before entering in the temple. The temple is vintage and the artistic works around the temple will make you spell bound.

My visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple was truly incredible. I felt the divine presence of Lord Shiva in a way that words can't capture. It was an unexpected and deeply moving experience that left me speechless. If you're seeking a profound spiritual connection, I strongly urge you to visit this sacred place. It's an experience that words can't do justice—you have to experience it for yourself. Note : there is no camera allowed or any electronic device not allowed in Temple even your pen 🖊️

The new temple premise is huge, spacious and beautiful. Now the golden tower of the temple is starkly visible. Earlier we used to visit just for darshan while this time we could see the beauty and divinity too. The systems are well placed with all facilities especially wheelchairs for old people. It's neat and dry except when it's raining. The only worst experience we had was in toilets. There was no water hence we were prevented to use them. The taps were broken. No proper maintenance and process for cleaning. Too many security personnel but very little guidance.

Place of Religious Importance I had visited this temple earlier about 8 years back. The only difference I found was the thoughtless infrastructural development. The rickshaw or your private vehicle can drop you till a point and after that you just have to walk endlessly to reach any temple or ghat in kashi. The richshawwallas will tell you that they will drop you till the entrance but that’s not true or even possible. Please be careful while fixing the price. However, there are wheelchair puller available here and they can drop people to their destination for a charge. The waiting time here is always long, so a ticket is preferable. These tickets are available at booths managed by authorities. I suggest not buying it from anywhere else but these booths ONLY. Once you have the ticket, you enter the premises through one of the worst security checks. The entrance security disallowed my selfie stick (which I had decided to keep in the locker but that was inside temple premises) and a pack of wet tissue and wanted to confiscate it, but I approached the ticket booth and requested them to help in the regard and it was taken care of and duly returned. After we entered the main gates, we put our footwear on the shoe racks and approached the locker facility and submitted mobile phones and large hand bag that we had with us. Small purses and money pouches are allowed inside. The lockers being limited as compared to the devotees visiting, one might have to wait for it to be available. One has to go through a couple of security checks before you can enter the temple premises. There is no specific prohibited item in this unique security checks. Whatever the security likes (specially the female security), is termed as prohibited and forcefully, abusively and permanently confiscated. I and my companions were shocked to lose lip balms, pocket VapoRub’s, expensive stationery items (pens and dairy), sanitizers, cosmetic items, etc, never to get it back. I suggest you keep everything in the lockers. Once you enter the premises after losing your valuables to the security, you have to be vigilant and find your queue if you have the paid ticket. After checking your ticket, you will be asked to join the line which goes from anywhere. You have to be careful! After about an hour, you get the darshan from outside the garbhgruh. Not allowed till the Shivling, one can just view it for a fraction of a second from outside before the security pulls you out. Gyanvapi well is located right in front of one of the doors of the garbhgruh. The well has been filled up and closed and covered with nirmalya. Right next to it is the huge Nandi facing the supposed Shivling in the ablution area of the disputed gyanvapi masjid. Darshan of this Shivlinga is NOT Available and it is not even visible from anywhere as the disputed area has been covered. Once out from the temple premise at gate number 10 there is an approach way to the manikarnika Ghat. one can get a decent view from there of the ganges but its a oneway. once you go to the ghat from here you cant come back and have to forcibly go through all security checks over again and get in the general queue. So be careful where ever you enter. Its completely mismanaged.

Incredible Place. Last visited in 2015 before visiting in January 2024. Remarkable changes due to Kashi Corridor project. With this corridor project some glory of this massively important temple is finally resorted. Now you can directly reach the Ganga Ghat from the temple just like the ancient times ! The cafeteria serves good food with varieties from most part of the country . You will want to spend time in the campus for sure. There are free lockers for phones and shoes, don’t get conned by those shops outside the campus. Easiest way to enter the temple is form Gate No 4. Next to the temple Ghat is the Manikarnika ghat. Number of boats are waiting at the ghat for your boat ride. One must experience this place, not once but many times in life !.

The abode of lord Shiva, located on the banks of River Ganga, Kashi Vishwanath temple is one of the most prominent temples in India. When I visited the temple in 2017 the temple was in the midst of numerous small buildings and narrow paths. But now it is getting the much awaited facelift. Great to see the new developments.

Overlooking the Western bank of River Ganges, Kashi Viswanath Temple is one of the most prominent of the twelve Jyotirlingas of the country.

Autos and Taxis are allowed until 2 km before the temple. The circle or the chowk is called Gadoliya, which is at a distance of 1 km. Autorickshaw, E-rickshaw and taxis will drop you to a point where police has barricaded the road, which is roughly 1 km from Gadoliya circle / Chowk. From this point cycle rickshaws are available and will charge INR 20/30.00, this stretch is also walkable i.e. from police barricades to Gadoliya circle/ chowk and then to Kashi Vishwanath - Gate Number 4. Note- Area around temple and ghats, E-rickshaw (also called TowTow) are available everywhere, then auto-rickshaws (Auto). 5 persons can sit in TowTow and 4 in an auto, comfortably. TowTow charges INR 10.00 per passenger for short distance (3-4 kms) and INR 20.00 / passenger for longer distances. Both transport runs in share basis i.e. they will pick passengers on the go. If you reserve the vehicle max you should pay is INR 50.00 for short distance and INR 100.00 for long distance. TowTow and Autos will ask for more (INR 150-200.00) when you approach them.

As it's a primary Holy n sacred place for Hindu. One of Jyotirlinga (Lord Shiva) is located here. Now in 2022 the corridoor which was Inaugurated by PM of India, the place is now so comfortable, secured, full of sanitation and all other important facilities. One can get Darshan of Mandir with in 15 min. Or maxm. In 1.30 hr. at any time in a day. All the main 4 fates are open and in operation. The passage to the Dashashmegh is still narrow and work is also going on to widen it. The Ganga arti there is so fantastic. What new added: the cruise (two) are functional and one can have a look of Ganga Arti by sitting inside cruise (moving to and fro during arti) by giving reasonable charges. Also the arrangement at G Dashasmegh ghaat is also so good now. Water is clean and calm. Use of plastic is almost ban at the bank of Ganges. Normal boat riding is also available, one can have fun on the other front bank of Ganges by crossing river through boat by paying just Rs. 50/- per person. The market of Gowdowliya is now very developed with ample of space. The battery rickshaw is easily available from any cornor of Banaras to there in just 10-20/- rs. Per head. Also a two wheeler paid parking is available at Gowdowliya market. Mata Annapurna mandir is also located at the gate no. 4. Peple have to deposit their belonging like purse, bag, electronic smart watches, smart keys of car, mobile phone etc at the counter available evwrywhere (shops of prasad).

Om namah Shibay🙏. Kasi Biswanath is the main jyortirlinga among the 12 jyortirlingas. It is located on the bank of river Ganga. The new temple was constructed by maharani Ahalyabai of Indore and majaraj Ranjit Singh covered the temple with gold. Newly formed Kashi Biswanath corridor is mindblowing. Security check is very tight in here one have to left all the electronic articles, pen, shoes, bags/luggages, cosmetics etc. before entering the mandir premises. Sparh darsan is available from4to5 both in morning and evening. You have to buy online ticket for dawn arati darsan. It is better to buy tickets for special darsan at ₹300.The Gayanbapyi well and Nandi statue at the north of the main mandir describes the brutality of Sultanas and Mughlas.Water of Gayanbapyi well is very precious. You have to visit Maa Annapurna mandir after visiting Bhole baba.

I visit in the month of March and I faced huge crowd at the temple. Nearby there is also one ghat named Dashashwamedh ghat where Ganga aarti takes place. You can also find many people from south India. But if you visit this place with your own vehicle that is biggest mistake because there is very space to park your car. So better leave to car at any Junction or station and travel this place with local battery rickshaw or Auto

Kashi Vishwanath, located in the sacred city of Varanasi in India, is one of the most revered and ancient temples in the country. As a devout Hindu, my visit to Kashi Vishwanath was a profoundly spiritual and transformative experience. This revered temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, holds immense historical, cultural, and religious significance, making it a must-visit for any devotee or seeker of spirituality. Upon entering the temple premises, I was immediately captivated by its grandeur and architectural beauty. The towering spires, intricately carved walls, and the ornate domes all reflected the rich artistic heritage of India. The temple complex, although bustling with devotees, had an aura of serenity and divinity that enveloped the entire area. The main sanctum, housing the revered Jyotirlinga (the symbol of Lord Shiva), was the focal point of my visit. The moment I laid eyes on the Jyotirlinga, I felt an overwhelming sense of reverence and peace. The chanting of prayers, the fragrance of incense, and the rhythmic sounds of bells created an atmosphere of devotion and spirituality that touched my soul. The temple premises also house various smaller shrines dedicated to different deities, each with its unique significance and legends associated with it. Exploring these shrines allowed me to deepen my understanding of Hindu mythology and appreciate the intricate details and craftsmanship of the temple's architecture. One of the highlights of my visit was witnessing the evening aarti, a mesmerizing ritual where priests offer prayers and worship to Lord Shiva. The aarti ceremony was a visual spectacle, with priests adorned in vibrant attire, accompanied by soul-stirring chants and the rhythmic beat of drums. It was a truly magical experience, filled with devotion and a sense of unity among the devotees. Beyond its religious importance, Kashi Vishwanath is also a place of historical significance. The temple has withstood the test of time, witnessing the rise and fall of empires, and has remained a spiritual beacon for centuries. The surrounding narrow lanes, known as "galis," are steeped in history and offer a glimpse into the vibrant culture and traditions of Varanasi. In conclusion, a visit to Kashi Vishwanath is a profound and enriching experience. It is not just a temple but a sacred abode that inspires devotion, spiritual awakening, and a deep connection with the divine. The grandeur of the temple, the spiritual ambiance, and the rich historical and cultural significance make Kashi Vishwanath a must-visit destination for anyone seeking solace, enlightenment, and a deeper understanding of Hinduism.

The temple had been demolished several times, most recently by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who constructed the Gyanvapi Mosque on its site. The current structure was built on an adjacent site by the Maratha ruler Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore in 1780 Since 1983, the temple has been managed by a board of trustees set up by the government of Uttar Pradesh. Located on the banks of the holy Ganges, Varanasi is regarded among the holiest of the Hindu cities. The Kashi Vishwanath temple is widely recognised as one of the most important places of worship in the Hindu religion. Inside the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is the Jyotirlinga of Shiva, Vishveshvara or Vishvanath. The Vishveshvara Jyotirlinga has a very special and unique significance in the spiritual history of India.

Visited Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Varanasi and was awe-struck by its spiritual aura. The ancient architecture and sacred vibes make it a must-visit. The intricate details and the energy of the place are truly captivating. However, be prepared for the crowds, especially during peak hours. Overall, a profound experience at one of the holiest shrines in India.

Very well managed temple. After the inauguration of the huge new corridor, the beauty of the temple has gone up. It is now connected to the ghat and devotees can walk between the ghat and shivling from within the complex.

The most beautiful and mesmerizing places in India which radiates such amazing energies if you are slightly sensitive to them. A must visit place for any person in their lives. The discipline which has been kept in crowd management is commendable. The corridor is a fantastic project which has been initiated by the government.

Must visit place when in Varanasi. You can keep your bag inside the temple as the facility is there for a locker and that is also free of charge. If you enter through the corridor via Manikarnika ghat, you just need to ask where to keep the bags to any security guard and they will show you. Might be the facility available from other gates also. Don't be fool by the shops outside the temple to use their lockers. Also, the prasad is available inside the temple.

The place for Hindus. Its built right adjacent to a Mosque. There will be many people who will tell you that they will make your queue short and will let you darshan Lord early.Thats just fake. There are many shops adjacent which will keep your mobile and shoes free only if you buy flowers from them. Better to keep them in the Official Temple locker free of cost.
