wouldn’t even rate it a 1. it is riddled with bed bugs , nits , cockroaches and all kinds of bugs. i stayed here as a last resort and i ended up taking bed bugs back with me and having my whole house fumigated. don’t stay here whatever you do , the staff are aware and just don’t care.

Uncomfortable bed; no top mattress, so it was painful to sleep there. We eventually got an extra sheet to use as a duved, so we could lay on top of the duved, but a thin sheet gets cold at night. Very dirty all the way, from the entrance to the top floor. A lot of dust, dirty carpets at the stairs and the whole hotel smelled like cigarettes. Window would not close properly, but fortunately it was warm enough to leave the window open. Wi-Fi was bad, only working now and then. No soap and only one towel each. We didn't dare to try the waterboiler, or the breakfast (if it even was served breakfast?), so we went to the nearest café. Avoid this hotel! I had a nice stay, but only because of my company, the nice weather and the location of the hotel.

Pros: The location is amazing, less than a minut walk to the tube, grate breakfast and sapper places, half an hour walk to museums like the Natural History museum and the V&A through the beautiful hyde park. Relativly clean, hot water in the shower. towels, bar soap, tea, coffee - provided in the room. Cons: the tube is heard very well from the window, there is very little space to move around. Overall, little thought went to orgenizing the small space but its an allright place to store the laguage and sleep.

This hotel was actually so vile we couldn’t even stay one night of the two nights we had booked. It was grotty and unclean. Facilities were nothing like what is advertised. The bathroom had mould, and the door did not have a lock and didn’t shut so if you’re staying as a couple would be forced to hear your partners business! There were also holes in the bathroom door! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, would not stay again. Wish I had read more reviews and stayed away. The floor of the room was coming up in one place. So much dust around. “Tea and coffee facilities” was a kettle and some tea bags and sugar packets in a plastic box. Bring your own mug as there are none in the room. I was not comfortable at all in the room, didn’t even want to take my shoes off. Found elsewhere to stay so could be comfortable on my trip to London with my partner. Just don’t stay here. Pay a bit more and go elsewhere.

A bird flew in through the window since it didn’t close, waking me up and had bedbug bites everywhere food barely edible, wouldn’t recommend.

AVOID! Bed bugs in the bed and on the walls. Dirty bathroom. The stuff are aware of the bugs and just laugh.

The hotel room basic but good and spacious, very clean bed sheets , nice pillows and duvet, comfortable bed, nice hot shower. Friendly staff, super handy due to being so close to Paddington station. Close to restaurants and shops. If you go to London for sightseeing and back to sleep, for me it's a good priced hotel, I don't mind to have a basic nice room as long as it's clean and staff are nice and caring which it was my experience in Sophia Hotel.

Wi-fi not working, Hairs in shower & bathroom, Bedbugs, Low-resolution TV, Dirty windows, unlocked doors when locked, Not clean. There were nits on the pillows, ended up not staying there, and went to a 4 1/2 star hotel.

Good value for your money. You pay for what you get. We stayed there in March 2018 on the second floor. Bedding and towels were clean and room had all the necessities hairdryer, iron. Breakfast is very poor and the dinning room needs cleaning and new chairs. Staff was helpful and the location is great. I would recommend it to all budget travelers.

The hotel is perfectly located in relation to Pattington station. There is noise from the street, but we weren't there to sit in the hotel during the day - it's London and quiet at night, even though we had a room facing the street. A worn-out hotel, but the beds were clean and everything else!, you get what you pay for and we didn't have to sleep on worn-out carpets on the stairs, so it was a no-brainer for us. And super nice that Pattionton station was 3 minutes away. Will definitely stay there again - central and cheap.

Cheap and central accommodation. Small room but worth what I paid. Not the cleanest place, but it could be worse, also when we asked for an extra towel they provided it immediately. If you're trying to save money and fancy staying near the city centre is a good choice. But don't expect too much

Very good location for Paddington station and Oxford Street, Edgware Road shopping. Room adequate but bathroom, stairs and curtains dated and tired! Holes in curtains and quite a lot of dust on upper window ledges. Bedding immaculate. Very helpful receptionist but only onsite during afternoon.

As mentioned before, you get what you pay for. When I came to London(1st time😬) I had no idea of the pricing in UK. If you consider a ticket for London Eye to cost approx. 50€/Person Hotel Sophia is ridiculously cheap and that's it. Loads of dust in every corner, walls never repainted since Oliver Cromwell. Be aware to have flipflops with you (you don't want to walk barefoot in the rooms). Window didn't close completely, curtains were thin, so at night you are deLIGHTed with noise (I really love english sirens. Ambulances are best, Police a bit boring. Blankets and linen were clean, no bugbites after two nights there. We didn't ask wether breakfast was included and went for Tesco. Going to London is *expensive*. Don't expect Hotel Sophia to rescue your balances. Invest in a better one or go Camping, thats what I would do. Best thing was the feeling of being cast out of society despite having an upper middle class income at home. I'm afraid that this will be the future in more ND more places. Thanks to globalization.
