Thought another restaurant that used to be in the area was still open. A friend mentioned they had recently been here, so we decided to try it. WE shared grilled trout and the house salad. Generous portions and complimentary dessert. It was excellent. Loved the decor. Manament and staff were youthful and attentive. Next time, I'll try the steak!

I used to go here all the time but for some reason it fell out of rotation. Went back today and was happy to see it's still as good as I remember. The food was delicious. Love their version of chicken tenders. The cold rice salad was as good as I remembered. I'll definitely be going back. Oh, and service and facility were impeccable!

I have been waiting to try this restaurant for the longest. I recommend the steak egg rolls. The steak was seasoned. The fries were just fries..nothing special. The lighting is very dim in the restaurant. The salmon was ok..nothing special. I would go back and try something different. Plenty of parking. Easy to get too. If you are a larger person with a stomach the booth may not be good for seating because the table is not adjustable.

Given that J Alexander’s isn’t a Michelin star restaurant the food once had great quality until my visit on Nov 20,2022. My fiancé and I were out dining and still celebrating our anniversary. Upon arrival we we’re seated right away. We order calamari, roasted chicken, fish of the day & an old fashioned totaling $92.45. The calamari was great freshly prepared with a nice portion size, the old fashioned was good and so was the preparation of the fish of the day. Yet my chicken was cold after digging into it, compared to the sizzling fish on his plate. A manager was walking by and stopped to ask and I informed her. She apologized and removed the plate taking it to the counter and passing it back into the kitchen. Food service 101 NEVER accept food back over the counter to correct….. the dish or item must be made fresh. They warmed the chicken up via microwave and added a fresh serving of mashed potatoes to a clean plate. Given this world we live in and how we all have gone through COVID and everything else why did the manager think this was ok? All the while seeing this from our table, which was right at the front of the dining room looking into the kitchen and my fiancé saw it all. My plate was return by the manager standing at the window; by sliding it on the table from the corner and saying enjoy before walking away. Never once properly approaching the table correctly to again apologize for the matter. In that moment I was beyond heated as this never should occur. I examined the chicken confirming that it was indeed the same piece as the initial order ( due to how how I cut into it). So I now have reheated microwaved chicken, that’s dry which I hate because it creates a rubbery texture and smell & no utensils for the next 10-15 mins after the initial tall slender management walked past at least twice with no acknowledgment. My waiter comes and notices after serving his other tables, apologies and ask if anything else is needed and I informed him that the dish had grown cold again and I no longer wanted it. He apologized and took the matter to a new manager and she instantly apologized and went to remake freshly everything. Much appreciated, right? Nope because I get my fresh plate and there was a surprise in the mash potatoes. At that point there was nothing else I wanted from their kitchen. Dessert & champagne was given for our anniversary; with the bill! The bill was never an issue to pay, as I was more concern with tipping my waiter than I was for paying for a meal I couldn’t enjoy. I believe it’s safe to say that was my absolute last time dining there, a very disappointing experience from management & kitchen staff

Steaks are excellent. Fire grilled flavor. We tried the Maui Rib eye and the steak and fries. Beautiful rustic and romantic interior with a brick entrance, dim lighting. The Mac and cheese was average: mild flavor and runny with a crispy top. The shrimp appetizer was great. The side of broccoli was flavorful. Service was slow and average. We had to ask for the complementary bread.. but it was delicious!

Didn't like my Entree at all. Steak rolls were ok a little bland, deviled eggs were ok.. My husband ribs were the best part of the dinner. Probably won't be back.

I've been going to J. Alexander's for decades now. It has a great ambiance and and is perfect for a date night or girls night out. Their J. Alexander Salad with their homemade Honey Dijon Dressing is one of the best salads you'll ever have! The Key Lime Pie is my reason for coming back. They also have an amazing Seared Ahi Tuna Steak which I get most times when I come. People also love the calamari and the salmon dip.

On my birthday my husband surprised me with reservations here. It was a great atmosphere. The food was awesome. Our server Chris was the BEST!!!. Chris catered to all our needs. He gave great suggestions. J Alexander wouldn't be J Alexander without him. When I return here. I'm definitely requesting to be in his area. Thanks Chris!!!!

🚩🚫⚠️🚩🚫⚠️This use to be one of my favorite restaurants⚠️🚫🚩⚠️🚫🚩 until I felt segregated. I was the only black person sat to the side in a closed section with my boyfriend. We were set off by ourselves in a section with no one else. I went to the host and mentioned my concerns. She then replied with, its a rotation of the seating. Thereafter were atleast 20 ppl in small groups that sat with the rest of the restaurant. I watched everyone who came through that door. They never sat anyone with us. Our waiter couldn't help but, to forget us because, we were sat to the side until I flagged him down for his attention. I then went to the host yet again and asked for a manager. The manager seemed to be understanding and patient. It felt like she could've recommended other ppl to sit in our section but that didn't happen. I then again approach the manager about the service. I guess to pacify me they later sat another ethic pair of friends 3 tables down. That was it. It was more like here are you happy but still no white ppl. The manager asked if she could get us some free desert and I think she knew, I would write a review. That's why I feel like she felt like it would butter up the situation. I refuse to come back and feel secluded especially by me being a black woman in that situation feeling alone. We loved our respectful waiter. It wasn't his fault that he forgot about us because, we found out that we, were sat is in a closed section. I felt total racism and segregation at J. Alexander's...

My family came here to celebrate my mom's birthday, all 3 generations around the table. My dad is in a motorized chair because of a stroke years ago and everyone was so incredibly nice and accommodating. The food was amazing as usual. The servers were wonderful and friendly and helpful, J. Alexander's is the perfect place for a celebration or just a great dinner! Thanks so much for making our night a great celebration 🎊

What wonderful food!!! The menu selection is great and food tastes amazing. The prime rib with the pineapple glaze was extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. Wonderful and attentive staff, and very quaint ambiance. We had an amazing dinner on our special occasion, thank you to the wonderful staff.

I am absolutely blown away by this place. Spicy Bloody Mary’s ✔️. Service , ✔️. Ambiance for date night, ✔️. March Madness on all the tvs, ✔️. Food, GAHMAZING! Will be back and recommending to eeeveryone I know! Gives you a more “exclusive” vibe then Maggiano’s, who just so happened to have an hour and half wait compared to J. Alexander’s 30-45 which wasn’t bad for no reservation. Parking is readily available AND ON A SATURDAY and right across from the mall. 100 out of 10 will be back. Gets even more charming by night!

    J. Alexander's is a favorite. We go here for all our family get togethers. The staff is always upbeat and the martini's are wondrous. I have yet to find something on the menu that I don't love. I highly recommend J. Alexander's Restaurant.

I showed up late with my wife for dinner and we were able to order dinner before the cutoff at 9pm and had a great meal and service by Derry who gave us top notch, thoughtful and professional service. He came by and was attentive and provided great feedback on the amazing food. We will be back for more delicious food and desserts.

A delicious meal for the contemporary palate. I had the fried chicken with this awesome dipping sauce that was just amazing! Also, try the Cypress Salad. It's delicious!
