Went on a Monday night, Monday being s holiday, went right after the Blue Man group show at Charles Playhouse. There was a little crowd, but enough tables for everyone. The food was good. Got the deviled eggs, they were good, the egg was a bit over cooked but I still ate them all! Then we got a order of nacho’s with beef topping, they were HUGE! They were very good only complaint is would add more hamburger topping, there was hardly any on it. Then ordered the Philly cheesesteak in a bowl without bread and a side of green beans. It was good! The place was clean with friendly service, bathrooms also clean. Overall good place, probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go back there but still was worth trying!

Typical bar grill chain restaurant. The menu is the usual mix of sandwiches and bowls. Beer is mostly in house brews, which are good. There's a full bar. Service is polite, but disorganized: empty tables while waiting for 20 to 30 for seating, wrong orders, and vanishing waiters hurt the experience. Overall, not bad, but not great.

Service was good, food was terrible. Bland. I had the egg roll appetizer, way too much cheese. Barely edible. Chose the Fish and Chips and that came with coleslaw and fries. Everything about this dish was bland. No salt, no nothing. Food here isn't worth the trip based off of this experience, try a local place I'm thinking. I expressed my concerns with management and they did comp the meals. Hopefully, they will work to improve their menu items.

Nachos were very good and huge! Burger was excellent, perfectly cooked , but fries were extremely salty. Our waitress, Yamile, was excellent. Just an average place, but had great service!

I had the worse burger I ever had here! It was definitely precooked with those fake grill marks, without question! Been here before the nachos are good and huge say at least four people can share these, but I got some special burger, gouda cheese and french onions, horrible. And some special sauce or something. Stick to apps here. If u zoom in on this picture it looks nuked, and bartender, blah to busy hanging with the other workers. Sorry for the negative review.

Great Sinatra Brunch! Food was great, service was a little slow. We definitely would have ordered more food and drinks if we had been asked or attended to just a little more. But overall it was a great experience!

It's my favorite place on the planet. I've been coming here every year I hit up Boston for PAX East. Amazing food, awesome service, and drinks! Plus the location is full of history and if you're someone who picks up on vibes it's full of historic ones.

What a funky, fun place to enjoy a Sunday brunch! The dishes were great and not too much. And the trio performing Sinatra covers thoroughly enjoyable.

Whether you want casual conversation or time to yourself, Matt the bartender can accommodate you...comfortable atmosphere where you're transported to another time in the below ground lounge, Lucky's has stood the test of time.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for drinks before our dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant. We didn't eat so I can only speak to the drinks which were very good. Our bartender was great. The bar has an old school feel to it with a Sinatra theme. I had only hoped that Sinatra would be playing but instead the music playing was modern. Didn't ruin our time but just would have made it more of an experience.

I have had multiple great experiences at rock bottom. Staff is very friendly and food is decent. I like the design of the place, as it opens up from the front to connect with its outside seating. Has an ideal location and is a good spot for drinks. All around a good vibe. Fish tacos - 5/5 I liked the fish tacos. Close to great fish taco spots in California.

Mediocre food with limited beer selections. For a chain that brews its own beer, I expected much more variety, but disappointed to find out that the options weren’t huge and some weren’t available. For food, I got the umami wagyu burger, and I liked that they put grilled Brussel sprouts which served nicely as a substitute for lettuce. The medium rare patty wasn’t very appetizing as it was quite dry on the inside. Overall, most of their menu seemed a little overpriced for their quality, but their service was good.

The worst takeout I’ve ever ordered. Literally starving and had to wait so long just to get an uncooked burger when I ordered well done. And gave me the wrong fries instead of the waffle fries. The fries were cold and tasted old. Forget about the brownie, it was so hard and stale and there was a small hair in the vanilla ice cream.. just all wrong and shameful

Nice spot with outdoor seating and large indoor bar area. Kevin was a nice waiter who makes a mean drink!! I had the bourbon peach smash and loved it. The menu had good choices and he hooked me up with a special chicken sandwich. The fries and toppings on my sandwich were on point. I never finish my meal and I actually did this time. Would definitely go back.

Wings were perfectly cooked and the Fireman's burger was great, albeit very messy. I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. Definitely a better choice than the hotel bar. Drink was done right too. Strong enough to know the booze was there but not over powering either. As a tour bus driver from NY it's not often I get to stay in the city let alone have a chance to go out to eat. If ever I had the chance to be in Boston again I would stop here again.

Visited on a Thursday before a show at the Wilbur. Did not expect to need a reservation, but luckily was tipped off and got one that afternoon. Had a very good dinner experience. Despite being stuck in traffic and a 15 minute late arrival they were nice enough to honor our reservation, they easily could have said "sorry" and I would have understood. Little trouble ordering beer as three options were out, the waitress was clearly frustrated with the situation and lack of an updated menu, however we worked through it without a problem. Food came in a timely manner, I had the pulled pork sandwich which was very good, however nothing super special. Others had burgers and each raved about how good they were, and after trying a bite I must admit they make a great burger here, not sure what their trick is but I regretted not getting one. We were on our way across the street just in time for the show. Great spot, just get a reservation.

Pleasant atmosphere. Satisfying menu. Wait staff was on point. I recommend it for your typical American fair. I had a kolsch beer and the fish and chips, and they were both quite good. Pleasant surprise: I tasted the first cole slaw I have ever enjoyed. It was not as heavy with mayonnaise as most, and it had (spoiler alert!) strips of apple that were hidden in with the slaw. They made for a nice sweetness and a healthy crunch.

OMG ! Best Nachos I had this year. This restaurant was just around the corner and since the game was on I decided to enjoy the outdoor patio. Surprisingly the food is not too expensive, I mean for Boston, paid around $38 dollars for 3 people . Overall quality service was great, food was good too and well presented but my Nachos were completely well made exactly how I want it. Love to be at Rock Bottom!

Not bad, but not great. Just somewhere in the middle. First time in Boston, quick supper before heading in to hotel. I would have given a third star but my food was too salty and that's coming from a person that seasons their food. Overall, it's an okay option for American style food within the downtown/Chinatown area.

I should have taken a video but really didn’t want to get anyone in trouble. All I will say is a question the “hygiene” and safe-serve training of the staff and management. We sat at the bar and a container of wilts, black celery was at the service station. Then one of the “floor managers” was serving drinks .. cut limes with “tongs” for use in garnish - right in the service station where staff place their serving trays .. gross . Too bad as the staff was friendly

Average comfort food, some items were very good (ribs) some were lacking (fries). We found the service to be slow, the TV sound was too loud we had a hard time conversing at our table even though it was removed from the bar area. If you sit anywhere near the entrance expect a cold draft even when no one is entering. Do the managers ever walk the restaurant?

We waited 2 hours and all the food came out wrong or cold. Also listened in on conversations and everyone around us was being overcharged or had a problem. This place cleared out fast and the only staff on was a waiter and the kitchen manager. The kitchen manager was the single and only good thing about this restaurant even though the whole restaurant was a dirty disaster.

It’s 6pm. On a Tuesday. Music is so loud I can’t hear my server. And the server took 21 minutes from the time I sat down at my table until he came over. I put my order in. He brought the glass of wine, the soup, and the burger all at the same time. It all tastes mediocre. Disappointing experience.

  • 1/5 Karan J. 4 years ago on Google
Ordered a double fireman burger however I wanted a single patty instead of a double. The menu didnt list it as a single patty burger. I ask the server she said no problem. When the bill arrives I got charged for the double I asked if it was a mistake. She said no that's what the price is. A single party burger here costs 10 and a double cost 15. I basically paid for a double party but only got one. RIP OFF. I hope this finds it way to a manager.

Busy night, they said wait would be 45mins, it was an hour and 15mins, hostess not very professional and rude to some customers, food was very salty, a couple beers on menu not available. Unfortunately not a good experience.

Stopped in to have a few drinks and listen to some music. The place had a good crowd but there was also a private event going on in the back room. The music was good. I opened a tab and then got messages to head up the street to Row 34 for dinner, so I wanted to close my tab out. 2 bartenders and a bar back, one bar tender dedicated to server drinks and the other handling a full packed bar. It took me over 15 minutes to get the bartender to acknowledge me and close out my tab, even after asking the bar back if he could help make it happen. I don’t know if it always that crowded but if you go there and it is crowded, good luck getting service.

Was just in Lucky's Lounge last Thursday. I wanted to read the reviews before I posted mine. I always have a hard time trying to understand how my wife and I (that are people of color) can have such a different experience than the people that have posted bad reviews that make it point to mention they are of color and make it seem that they had a bad experience because of it. We had a GREAT time. Our server was attentive and pleasant. The bar was exactly how it is presented. My wings were delicious my beer was cold and wife's wine perfect. To anyone reading this just be open to your surroundings enjoy the the moment. My only regret was not asking if they sell t shirts I would have liked one.

We ordered wagyu olives, French dip and classic burger for take out. The whole experiance was just okay. Everything was on time for pickup. The burgers and French dip with Waffel fries were good, very moist and tasty. We were just really disappointed by the wagyu olives they had on their menu as shareable. It is not at all what it look like on their website Pic. We orderd two for 8 bucks each and they were basically 6 or 7 olives in there fried with a bit of bread crumbs on top. You can't even taste the wagyu beaf which might have justified the hefty price but there wasn't a significant amount in there. Too expensive for just olives. Other wise decent.

Went in on Sunday evening after a comedy show. They were understandably busy and a bit short staffed so we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. My girlfriend has Celiac disease, we communicated this to the server and we were brought a Gluten free menu, which she ordered from. When our food arrived we asked if the bun on her burger was Gluten free as it looked just like mine (regular burger, no allergy for me), and there was no garnish indicating an allergy. The person that dropped the food off at the table said she was unsure, so she took it back to the kitchen, never to be seen again. We waited about 15 mins with no other visits from any other servers, including our own, or managers. After it being clear we had been forgotten about, we approached the host stand to inform them we were leaving.

To eat here you must make reservations well in advance. Then you might get lucky and get seated. Arrived and was told it was a 25 minute wait. After 25 minutes we were told it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting a total of 1 hour we were told it would be another hour at least. Restaurant is no where near good enough to wait over 2 hours to just be seated.

While I understand that places are under staffed and it's still a pandemic. This is unacceptable. We asked for med well, add bacon. It's rare at best (see photo) the bacon is undercooked. I loved going to this place back in day. Now it's just another sad restaurant I will no longer go to. In addition we were ignored for 15 minutes so by the time we were asked it was to late

Went with a big group last night and had a great time!! Wanted to review to say that our waitress, yomara (sorry if this is spelt wrong!) was fantastic!! She handled our large group so well and was so sweet and friendly. The drinks were great and so were the nachos!! I have had some bad experiences with customer service in Boston but this was amazing and I will definitely be back!

Coleslaw Conundrum: The coleslaw, served in a modest portion, left much to be desired. Its lackluster flavor and sole reliance on red cabbage resulted in a dish that was both bland and uninspired. For BBQ aficionados, coleslaw can be a pivotal side dish, and unfortunately, this version didn't rise to the occasion. A suggestion to the chef: consider revamping the recipe or perhaps removing it from the menu in favor of something more exciting. Pulled Pork Perfection: On a brighter note, the pulled pork sandwich was a culinary triumph! The pork was tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by a soft, fresh bun. It's a dish that truly showcases the restaurant's BBQ prowess. Fries to Die For: The fries were another highlight - crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned. They're the ideal sidekick to any BBQ main course. Beverage Blip: The Arnold Palmer drink could use some tweaking. It's a classic that, when done right, can elevate the entire meal. Final Thoughts: Rock Bottom delivers a solid BBQ experience, particularly with their standout pulled pork and fries. While there are areas for improvement, particularly the coleslaw and beverage selection, the overall experience is satisfying. I'd definitely come back, especially if they take my tips on the coleslaw and Arnold Palmer to heart. Here's to good BBQ and better sides! Would I Return? Yes, for the BBQ, and in anticipation of an improved coleslaw and drink menu!

Really great spot! Nothing to blow you away, but the service was excellent (and food came out fast!), they played a lot of good bops (also at a volume you can still comfortably talk over), and this was one of the first bars in Boston I didn't dislike the coleslaw. The fries were excellent, I got the turkey club which is pretty standard but I wasn't disappointed, and the prices were reasonable, especially for downtown Boston. Is this a take your visiting parents for dinner place? No. But it's a decent first date location, or if you're like me, a good place to get food after seeing a performance at one of the theaters nearby.

We ordered the rack of ribs which my husband and daughter shared and I had the chicken fried chicken. My meal was delicious. The other meal also very good. Loved the open doors allowing the fresh air to come in. The one negative was how loud it was in there.

It is just not good! The food is very greasy and not good quality! The service could be also bette as they served chicken to a dish that we told to remove it as the person was vegetarian
