Kazan was a refreshment for us after Moscow, as everything's on a smaller and calmer scale. Kazanians are very proud on their Kremlin, and speaking with them each stressed the Kazan's Kremlin is 500 y older than Moscow's dating back to early 11c. Kremlin is a Russian word for a fortified medieval citadel, and this one in Kazan is on the UNESCO list. It used to be a Tatar fortress and the seat of Kazan Khans, until Ivan the Terrible conquered it (in honor of that the St. Basil's Cathedral was built in Moscow). Entry is free, however you can opt for a guide by the gate. Entry is through Spasskaya tower (the White clock tower). Inside, it's little bit smaller than Moscow's and likewise there're many things to see: Annunciation Cathedral, Kul Sharif Mosque, Presidential palace, Suyumbike tower, as well several museums I will write about in separate reviews. Count on around 2-3 hours for visiting.

Was here on 23 May 2023. This place is amazingly awesome. A must go place for anyone who comes to Kazan city. There are many sites to visit within the walls of the Kazan Kremlin, that a day could have passed by without one realising it. Thankful for the opportunity to be here. Alhamdulillaah.

Open 24/7, gorgeous at day, even more so at night. My girlfriend and I have been there for three times already, but it is still not enough for us. I would recommend everyone to go there. The mosque is a must-visit. It has also been great to visit one of the towers. The view is simply amazing there.

Absolutely fabulous! Best is to keep this visit for the afternoon. Probably 4/5 pm is good to start. Entrance is free, The main attraction of Kazan the KUL SHARIF MOSQUE is located within the premises. It is great to also end the evening here as there is a great silence and breeze surrounding the area but everything else within the Kremlin is closed at Night. They have interesting little experiences within the Kremlin. Recommended for families! 🙂

An excellent kept symbol of the city. The entire square is well maintained and gives you also a good view over the Wolga and city as well. Entrance is free so enjoy even in winter time. Please be aware of the so called self-nominated guides and taxi drivers which are awaiting you already at the entrance. If you are interested in a guided tour, spend the money for an official one.

They say all Kremlin's are all the same all over Russia but this is no exception, perhaps wit the little Tatar twist. Otherwise there are very nice restored buidings, churches, restaurants and museums, even a cosy cafe selling hand made cakes.

The jewel in the crown of Kazan is their beautiful kremlin. Picturesque, great views and just lovely to wander around in as well as see the historical sites. Adored it.

Tatarstan is always worth a trip. Kazan, the capital of the Republic Tatarstan is full of history and great culture. It even has it’s own Kreml, which is a UNESCO world heritage. A must to see. Within the Kreml walls there is beside the president palace many museums, an Orthodox Cathedral, a Christian Church and the big Mosque. A splendid view over the city you get from the observation decks. Walk through the pedestrian zone of the old city, enjoy a coffee with local sweets in one of the many cafés, either on the terrace in summer or inside. There are also may restaurants with all kind of cuisine. Explore the rich cuisine of Tatarstan. Don’t miss to visit the Petropavlovsky Sabor (St Peter and Paul Cathedral). Just recently completed a complete renovation and shines in new splendor. From the main entrance you have the most beautiful sunset over the roofs of Kazan. At the end of the pedestrian zone you see another landmark, the Epiphany Cathedral’s Bell Tower. In the evening enjoy one of the many theatres or concerts in Kazan. You like to stay in a historical building, the DoubleTree by Hilton Kazan City Center is just the perfect place. 2 minutes walk from the pedestrian street and less than 10 minutes to the Kazan Kreml.

Kazan Kremlin, a cultural and historical museum complex, a place with a number of expositions, including an affiliate of Hermitage. The Kremlin represents the republican historical heritage as a religious and ethnical variety.

Overwhelming place, in some places it actually makes you feel like you're 800 years back in time. It has many interesting sights inside of the walls, and also some fascinating view to the city. It's a place where you can easily spend the whole day.

As much as I'm not a super fan of historical places, you can't pass by Kazan and not visit its Kremlin, especially if escorted by an English speaking guide. Listening to the historic trait of the Tartanstan and how it was formed over time it helps to capture the essence of the place with the several deviations over their religious traits. The Princess and her leaning tower story was probably the most touching one for the night.

🫤 At the box office we persuaded him, like the others, to take a full-day ticket, okay. We went into the locker room, it turned out that it was shared (m and f together), as was the shower room. The toilet is dirty. We go to the water park itself, bare concrete floor, bare walls, we are “met” by peopl...
