Lake Washington Institute of Technology is a mixed bag not because of the staff or classes but because of the students. The atmosphere is degrading to each otherโ€™s success due to a number of things but mainly to the students unwilling to work hard and produce quality work. This in turn forces the colleges to lower the bar for the student body as a whole. If youโ€™re in nursing, automotive, or machining field of study the atmosphere is better as far as Iโ€™ve seen and heard. But overall in the other fields if youโ€™re looking to be challenged by your peers Iโ€™d look elsewhere because LWT is not competitive in any aspect.

"Technology"? I can't even do my homework in class!? The cpu keeps freezing up! Lost my assignment in the Microsoft Cloud ON CAMPUS! Technical support is one overweight guy always eating at his cpu. I had to wait until the end of the quarter to meet with an advisor to sign up for classes I didn't want. Now I got a teacher that I didn't want. Got referred to get help with housing, the guy at Mary's Place never called me back. It's more like a outdated community college. The campus security running around there think they the real police. Several minority students told me they were followed around campus by them. Covid hit and I'm getting pressured by a rude narcissist teacher to come to the school to withdrawal from class. Then when I was trying to get back into school nobody answered a voicemail or email. Only owed the school around $400, got a collections bill for $1,000+. The King County Metro bus doesn't come by the school that much. Your definitely going to car transportation. The staff is mostly nice & helpful for the most part. But some things need to be changed.

The main campus building is old, the other two a a little newer bit still for the most part you fell like you stuck in the 80 or 90. Every teacher I have had are really nice and actually do care about your education. Though some of them don't really know how to teach but they are really great people and will do there best. The cafeteria is nasty, but has some okay things like drinks. The student government is great they always put on fun events and good parties. The adviser are probably the greatest part of the school. They have many programs but it's hard to get higher than an at. All in all I think that this school is a good transfer school.

The building is nice, the atmosphere is nice. Most teachers are great and would like to see you be successful. The advising office is my least favorite because I am always continually being given incorrect information, information in which is very important to have. The advisors are sometimes very hard to get a hold of and some do not get back to you, and when they do they don't give you the information you needed. I have wasted a whole day and gas to go to appointments that I could have just gotten the information over the phone, or through email, the front office is touch and go as well. Other than that the school is nice, I'd recommend it, but make sure you get the correct information the first time and not when it's too late.

I'm trying to take nitrous oxide certification course for dental hygiene licensing in WA State. If you can, go somewhere else. They will charge you over $1000 in fees (not including the course price) to walk into the building. They advertise the price for nonresidence as about $600 but you will end up paying about $1600 for a 1 credit hour course to be certified in nitrous oxide. I wish I knew this before. Nobody answers their phone and when they do they have no idea what's going on. I was incorrectly enrolled into the wrong class by someone else and then almost charge 50% for "dropping" the class I didn't even enroll in. This has been a horrible experience for an online lecture and 1 day lab course. $1000 in fees to take an online course. I'm beside myself. Please don't come here for nitrous oxide if you are coming from out of state.

Update: Still an okay school, just they charge you for lab fees, on-campus services, and other random stuff even though most of the classes are remote. Still competitively priced, they should just increase tuition instead of making stuff up because that's all it really is. That and there seems to be a lack of congruence between the same content when taught by two teachers. They should probably standardize that more.

I've been attending the dental clinic for 10+ years as a patient. The students and staff are friendly, always address concerns with quality and care, and they do Grade A work. Allow more time during and between appointments. This practice specializes in hygienist training and some restorative. The clinic may not be suitable for emergencies and endo (root canals), major oral surgery, dentures, or and other specialty work, but they may provide a treatment plan and cleanings. I recommend this clinic to family and friends who can spare the time, want quality cleanings, or need a treatment plan.

I am a 55 year old returning student who attended a " Little Ivy " college in my first time around. My prep school was rated #3 in the US by Forbes.I have enjoyed some of the best educational opportunities that the US can offer. I have surprisingly found most of the instructors here to be very dedicated and qualified. Some stand out, some are better than others, but none are lemons. They compare fairly well , within reason, of the instructors I had at my elite schools.BTW, because the program I am taking is in high demand in the private sector, the government provides extra money for financially qualified students. I will go through my six quarter program at about 20% of the cost.I had no idea that the money is out there if you take the time to look. Do yourself a favor and get off the couch. I should have done this years ago.

LWIT sucks, I get it. The only good thing, other than being a complete disaster, was the fire suppression program. Everything else is a complete mess. this one review by Chris Nguyen says it all. "Terrible staff. When I went to auto repair and asked the teacher what the plug was, he replied, 'That's not your concern.' Oh no, please tell me. I went to my advisor and was told to deal with it and sent home. Oh my god! โ€œIโ€™m glad I didnโ€™t get into this program. Otherwise, it would have spread like wildfire. School doesnโ€™t care about anything . It sucks and It treats you like a child.. Colleges are supposed to be young adults not young children. Glad i didnโ€™t go to school here.

I have only used their testing center (for CompTIA and AWS exams) but it was always easy, quick, quiet and clean. Highly recommend it as an alternative to taking certification tests online, especially if you have a hard time finding quiet places/time at home.

This is my 3rd year at LWTECH. I love the professors and all of mine have been amazing. I really feel like the professors care about students succeeding in their programs. The reason why I give this school 3 starts is because of the finacial aid office. This is the 3rd year there has been some excuse as to why finacaial aid packages have not been processed. So, if you rely on finacial aid to help pay school expenses avoid this school.

Been going here for three quarters now and so far it's been great. The staff is extremely helpful, from the instructors/professors to the advisors, tutors, library staff, administrative staff, assistants....etc...all are there for you, even after you are signed up and started classes, they are there to help you gain the best education experience you can get. I'm very pleased with my experience so far.

My time at Lake Washington Technical College: Continuing Education was overall very pleasant. My instructors were amazing. They were really chill, knowledgeable, and their support is one of the things I will always speak highly of. I was hoping to do that boot camp in person, but the experience of doing it fully remote was also amazing.

I was here for the dental clinic after responding to an ad on craigslist. They had me come in over and over during a 5 month period. At no time did they correct anything. Then when they did offer to perform a cleaning, it was with a student with no experience, which was expected, but they require you to sign a waiver to any rights that might protect you if they make a mistake. They won't even tell you if there is a mistake and won't correct it. I walked out after wasting a ton of time. They never explained any of this. Disrespectful and wrong. Get liability insurance, a staff dentist, and some human decency.
