3.0 average review is crazy for this place. Ordered from them for over 10 years, I often pick up rather than wait delivery, but have experienced delivery from them. Not had issues, they do standard (British) Chinese food, but have so unique dishes too. Quality great, prices food. Not sure why the average is so low based on my many years of experience with them.

Ordered a takeaway from our hotel. Received a phone call from them just confirming the order and place as I was paying by cash. Had an hour to wait but the food was great they even had cheese cakes on their menu.

Do not order from this takeaway. Poorly managed, poor customer service, poor food. 1 star for the driver being courteous and well mannered. -Ordered takeaway using their website at 7pm -received email stating order would be with us by 8.40pm -called them at 9pm and was told order was being completed and driver will be leaving within minutes, -called again at 9.40pm and they said delivery was out, -finally got food at 9.55pm -Food was cold and at best Luke warm. -Was told I would receive a call from manager -never received so called in to complain -was no one of authority was working but message will be passed on -no one called -called to complain again, they did not apologise but said they would offer us £8 off our next order -told them to keep their £8 and we will never order again

I’ve been ordering from Oriental chef for over 2 years and they have always been a pleasure! 🤌🏼 The service is on point, really polite! The food has never disappointed me, it’s always delicious 😋 They work so so so hard👏🏻 And keep It squeaky clean✨ These deserve more positive feedback, but people just like to moan instead, keep the good work up 😁

After a long day at work, we order delivery and arrived within 45 minutes, the food was hot and fresh, very tasty! Staff was friendly, we would 100% order again, one of the best Chinese we had in a long time! well done x

Our food took almost 2 hours to arrive, when we tried to get information about where our food was, the rep lied over and over again. She then started to swear at my husband. Absolutely disgusting and we will not be ordering from that place again. On top of that, the food tasted nasty.

Great Food, Quick Delivery, also a very varied menu. I've never had a problem personally, I've ordered from here about 6-7 times now and never had an issue but I know my aunt wasn't impressed with the prawns a couple weeks ago so maybe its a prawn thing or just an off week, who knows... PS. The Cheesecakes are spot on! don't knock um till you've tried them.

This is our go to Chinese. Everything just tastes so fresh and flavourful. Delivery is always on time and everything is just cooked to perfection every time.

Best Chinese take away around... chicken satay skewers are reallt good and generously sized. Beef in black bean and chicken chow mein cant be faulted. Beef gyozas were spot on👍

No idea how this has a 3* rating. Ordered takeaway and service was friendly, prices fair and food quickly made. Sweet and sour chicken was delicious and ribs too. Even have non alcoholic beers and cider!

Fantastic food! Oriental Chef has been my go-to for years and it's never disappointed. Portions are very generous and the prices are really good, delivery is pretty speedy too. Definitely recommend 😊

The service is amazing. I have coeliac disease which means I can't eat wheat. They always manage to cater for my needs which is brilliant. Also, they aren't stated as a wheat free zone but I've never had any problems with cross-contamination and the food is always tasty. Just give them a call and they can help you out with any queries and just leave notes on Uber and they will ring you to confirm. Brilliant ✨

Really surprised at the critical reviews for this place. I'm an avid foodie and eaten around the country and thought this place was a little gem. I am new to the NG10 area and I thought the Chicken Bao buns were really tasty. There are of course "classic Chinese takeaway" items on the menu but without all the MSG! The sauce is real sauce instead of the usual thick radioactive stuff that you get at other Chinese take aways! I ordered a special fried rice and some roast pork, which was well cooked and very easy to digest compared to my usual takeaway experiences! Overall, I was very happy with my meal, and my food delivery even arrived 11 minutes ahead of schedule! I'm glad that I've found myself a new little local! 😊 ✨

Absolutely fantastic picked up food for collection and was greeted by two smiling faces Eddie & Abbey was absolutely fantastic. Customer service at it very best. Absolute shambles. Waited 30 mins in the freezing cold reception for food that was meant to be ready at 5:55pm. Comes out at 6:27pm. No apology or comment, simply not good enough.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls. 3 had no chicken at all. Just batter. One was burnt to a crisp. Sweet and sour sauce needed to be heated up as it was a lump of jelly. Terrible. Won't eat here again.

If you’d like to order from here, order it at lunch. Worst delivery ever 2+ hours and still waiting. I’ll let you know what its like for breakfast

Excellent takeaway, and great Chinese food, very authentic and good customer service, our favourite has to be their Honey Chicken & Pulled Pork Chips. Great job guys

"Szechuan Garlic Chips" are good chips coated in spicy sauce with bits of red pepper to make them hotter. A tasty and filling meal by itself. All their food is good though.

Really dirty place Been coming here for food for 20+ years at least and its gone down hill to say the least. The lady who answers the phone NEEDS to learn what good customer service is!!!

Awful service, booked Monday evening at 7.51 which was due at 9.01. (70 minutes) When I called at 9.11 I was told it hadn’t even left the store and the woman seemed very uninterested that I was still waiting on food 1 hour and 20 minutes after ordering to be told it hadnt even left the store. It was due for delivery 10 mins prior and still hadn’t even left the store which I found very frustrating I appreciate it may have been busy but I was rather annoyed that I was still waiting 10 mins after my expected delivery time to find out it was going to be an even longer wait Food eventually arrived at 9.38 waited just under 2 hours in total The only apology I got was from the delivery driver when he just goes where he’s told Very disappointed and will be a while before ordering again Emailed asking for a response on Monday evening and still waiting now, nothing If no stars was a thing that would definitely what I would’ve give

Having ordered from here a number of times, and each time, the quality has been bang on. Tried a few local Chinese takeaways over the last year and this is by the far the best. Our go to 💯%.

Absolutely disgusting, we have been there a few times now ordering different dishes ( there were quite a lot of good reviews) well last night was the worse yet? I’m not sure what type of food the people that are giving this place 4 and 5 stars are used to eating but the food ( in our experience) is awful to extent that it is on the verge of being inedible.

I would of loved to have given it zero stars. I was prepared for a long wait when we ordered as it stated 80 mins. However 2 hours later, still no show. I rang, to be told it's on the way. (I live 5 mins away) I then rang back 20 mins later and was told they would put me on hold whilst they ring the driver.. 14 mins later, the phone gets put down on me. We then ring back again!! And get told it's just leaving. The food was bland when it arrived and was so disappointing. It's expensive, and terrible. Will never go back.

My husband ordered satay king prawn and rice, and as a starter sweet and sour chicken balls. The chicken balls were OK. The satay king prawn however was very overcooked or they were not king prawns. I think they may have once been king prawns though. Because they were big enough to have once been king prawns but so over cooked they looked like shrunken prawns. But still big. They were just so chewy. The satay sauce was nice. But was put on the rice by my husband and the prawns have been left pretty much untouched because they are inedible and chewy.
