Good value for money when visiting with a baby compared to The Fish Tank (also see my review for there), taking the whole experience into account - £8.40 for two adults and a baby compared to £22.50. Facilities are reasonable, if a bit dated, but could be cleaner. Useful to have mixed/family changing rooms but none were free when we got there and groups without babies were using them. Would be better to give access only to families with babies as there's no safe place to put your baby while getting changed in the other cubicles. The staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed our swim.

Only 3 showers for pool, meaning chilly queuing, changing area mixed (didn't see a warning about this) many lockers broken. Pool itself and class was fine.

Brilliant pool if your happy just swimming, there is usually plenty of space even when its busy. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

cables machine is allot of people favourite and it has been out of order for over a week and during bank holiday and hasn't been fixed , the repair man geeza is slower than a 1 legged dog on tranquilizers , other than that nice gym :)

After standing in the queue for over 30 mins finally get in to find you can only go on the inflatable no swimming aloud. All kids have to line up freezing the get a go back round to the queue. Last session we attended you were still allowed to swim down the deep end. This is the second pool we’ve tried to swim at today stood in the queue for bishop’s fun session to find all the places taken.

Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre is a multi-sport venue and leisure facility, located in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. The centre was opened in 1974 and has facilities for swimming, exercise, an indoor climbing wall, and a main sports hall for sports such as basketball, badminton and indoor football. This weekend it hosted the 2023 English Acrobatic Championships. Helpful and friendly staff.

Fantastic gym and pool at a very cheap price. Membership includes classes such as yoga and bodypump (as well as use of the pool). Lots of equipment to choose from in the gym and if you time it right, you can have the place almost to yourself. The pool is the best in the area (in my opinion) and has decent lane swimming sessions every day. Parking is usually easy to find and is free and right next to the centre.

Love coming here. Swimming and gym for myself and my daughter loves to do her gymnastics here and visit the library too.

I have been coming here since I was a small child. My daughter has swimming lessons here and I previously used to have dance classes here. Offers a wide variety of activities for all ages and has a library in the Same building.

Whole experience was fine as attending a well run netball tournament. Parking was difficult.

First swimming lesson back today for our son since last February. Very impressed and very organised with all the new bits and pieces to do but lesson was great and better since not as many children in the pool he enjoyed it so much and more interaction with the teacher and him with being a smaller class. Although teacher not in the pool this was fine 👍

Had 1 onto 1 today and he was brilliant. Took my disability into consideration the whole 2 hours . Very clean and cleaning bays all over thank you aycliffe gym

Nice sports complex with swimming baths and gym.

Facilities are slowly being either removed or run down, steam room has been out of action since 2018 and the sauna is shocking. Changing rooms and lockers are disgusting and people take no notice of the no outdoor footwear signs. Won't be renewing my membership.

1 Star cables machine so many people using it and floor so drity staff not so friendly not helpful not smiling boring gym. A bit expensive but nothing special.

Staff very helpful as this was my first visit gave good information and directions to the pool. Modern facilities, has 2 swimming pools. Life guards patrolling were a little noisy at times for my liking. Has many other facilities but I haven't explored these yet. Will go again. Very impressed when the schools are on holiday they still have the swim lanes in for those who swim regularly.

I've given it two stars cos why oh why do gyms insist on membership to tie you in for a year? It's expensive and in the current financial climate quite a commitment! I haven't used the pool yet so no comment 😊 The library I will give five stars to....well stocked, excellent staff, lovely seating area, access to computers everything a library should be today - well done DCC for putting it together with the leisure centre 👍

Sean and members of the Athena gymnastics are so helpful, they'll do anything to help. A vital place that's prominent in the town. A fab addition to the community.

The staff are very nice, the gym is amazing, the swimming pool is small but good, nice warm changing rooms but sadly the showers are ridiculous there is 2 at the poolside not suitable for children as the temp has to be manually set, no option to showering properly and you have to leave the changing area to put your shoes on so dirty feet or wet socks.

Love this place. There's always something on. Started going here as a child from ferryhill for weekly school swimming,brought my 2 eldest and now they bring their families and my hubby and I watch my granddaughters gym appearances and training here. Staff always helpful and love how we can come for a sw8m then go and have a bit quiet time and a cuppa in the library thats now attached to it.

My daughter attends swimming lessons here but seriously considering pulling her out which is a shame but sadly the cleanliness of the facilities are a borderline health hazard. The last 2 visits there has been urine running through the cubicles, both times I’ve pointed this out to staff to find half an hour later nobody has rectified. On top of this the genuine cleanliness of the floors and toilets are also disgusting. Locks on lockers are also temperamental. In terms of swimming lessons there is some value for my daughter but they are stupidly overcrowded.
