Bad experience from the food to the “scam attempt” in the end. Nice promoters in the front the get people in. Beware when you are going to pay that the owner will say that he has a problem with the internet and that you need to pay cash. Fortunately they have an atm inside the restaurant. The only problem is that it takes 13% commission on the withdrawals. However when you ask if there is not another atm nearby suddenly they will try to get the internet working again.. They also added more items to the bill than we actually ordered.

Be aware. We didn't get a menu, neither any receipt. We wanted some drinks, but got coloured water for 11€. Greatest disappointment in Crete.

Don't eat here! You have been warned & they only accept cash. What does that tell you?! Worst meal out of our 12 day holiday by far and this is our penultimate evening. The guys at the front of the house accost you, you try to walk away & they block your path. We ended up eating there just to get shut of them. My husband's beer came in a boot shaped glass, 1ltr for €11, he was not given a choice even though there were cheaper, smaller options available. We had to ask for the menu & the service was not brilliant. As for the food that was not the best either; we felt like we were being pushed into ordering the more expensive choices. I had the pork in foil, it was thin, tough to cut & eat but the topping was nice. My husband had the chicken in wine, not many pieces of chicken. Both came with "grilled" potatoes (not that nice) and a paltry bit of salad. Still hungry. Total meal cost €62. RIP OFF!!!

We were pressured to go in the restaurant by giving us free wine. We believe we were told the fish sea bream was $14. The guys at the entrance were saying how good their prices were. We sat down, got the free wine, sure enough the fish was 24€ suddenly. similar plates are 14-15€ around... We got scammed.

Avoid this place. Besides the waiter's "not so friendly" attitude, the drinks are even worse: draft beer not cold and aperol spritz just a strange coloured water. Also the beer had a different price on the bill vs the menu 4.90 vs 5.50. Not significant, but altogether it made the worst experience in Crete, so far. 2 stars only for the view.

Avoid this scamming joint - they don't deserve even one star. I ordered a bottle of Mythos, and a big boot of tepid tasteless beer arrived, charged at €11! We were twice pressured to order food - despite saying we only wanted a drink. When the unfriendly waiter realised we weren't going to buy, he snatched the menus off the table and gave us a dirty snarl. The food on an adjoining table looked grim and the people left most of it. Don't give these crooks a cent of your hard earned money,

Chania was so wonderful. No matter what restaurant we went to, we were happy. Until we went here. Just felt like a trap. I was hoping that what he said was true - that when winter comes around, the locals still frequent their restaurant. But maybe they do that because it's one of the few places open in the winter? The guy in front was actually kinda pushy; we should have just walked away. As we ate, we saw him jumping in front of other tourists to get them to stop and eat at the restaurant. He even said "We'll give you the special Greek treat at the end of the meal, we'll take care of you, I got you" and as soon as we turned to pick a table, he was gone - left to find other tourists. The after-meal Greek treatment of a drink and/or snack didn't come, but we didn't care at that point. The food was alright. Swordfish was dry to me. We ordered the fish plate. Was happy to finally pay and leave.

This place is a classic tourist trap. The prices are high, the people wooing you to go in promise stuff that they don't intend to do, and the service is a bit slow. Yet, the food was actually good, the drinks were fine, speaking about the dinner itself it was more than fine, it was actually good. We paid about 45€ for mixed meat skewers, fried calamari, dolmadakias, and some wine, which is not too far off from the other places in Chania. If they clean up their act and be upfront with the prices and average them with the rest of the restaurants around, they can do a lot with the place. Until then, go to a more honest place.

Very pushy salesman wouldn't take no for an answer. Followed my wife down the street and just would not go away! I finally showed him the 1.4 star reviews and asked him why he had such bad reviews, then he said that I should stop talking to him 🤣🤣🤣 Luckily I didn't dine here as I checked the reviews, he's clearly desperate and should invest his energy in improving his restaurant rather than forcing people to go eat there.

Be carful do not go for that place!! They will try to track you in and they will use the old fashion way to invite you for the “best food” Food rate: not bad. View the best. The prices are edited and them cocktails are not good at all. Service, they work only to get you in but once you set all the concentration will be lost!

I went there expecting a decent food and the appetizers was ok but then we ordered the pork that comes in the foil was our worst food in all trip. The pork was not tasty and the presentation in the foil was horrible. They charged us 19 EUR for this plate. The gentleman in the entrance sell like a nice Greek restaurant where if the food is bad you don't pay there was a live music. Tourist trap please avoid

Won’t get fooled again! Unfortunately, we were taken in by the shyster who really talks a good game about his restaurant and makes it seem like home cooked Greek food is specially prepared there. My wife also got some foil wrapped food that looked and tasted like something my daughters made on Girl Scout camping trips. We got the free wine—it must have cost at least €0.02 per glass as it was like the stuff you get for €1.00 per liter. I got the fish for €24 which was nowhere near as good as what I have gotten at multiple other tourist places for€14. To top it all off, the waiter said their credit card machine was broken but that I could get cash at the ATM conveniently located in their restaurant. When I balked at this and said they should have told me that when I was seated, he said it broke between when I was seated and when the bill was presented. He then claimed that he restarted it and it was working again. Of course, he would not allow me to add the tip to the CC charge as every other restaurant did during my ten day holiday in Corfu and Crete. Philosophically, I guess we were lucky that this was the only grift we encountered on our vacation; everyone else we met in Greece was pleasant, honest, and helpful.

Do not attend this restaurant, we were pressured in by the guys on the door. Service was VERY slow, the waiters would look at you several times and just continue to ignore you. The food quality was not appalling but quite bland. For the price you pay, it was poor. The main issue with the food is the portions - the €18 chicken in white wine sauce ‘special’ was the size of a kids portion. AVOID

The guy on the street was very pushy and got us in to the restaurant with a promise of very good food for the kids. We got the kids menu, but the chicken nuggets were the size of a happy meal and tasted even worst for the price of 6€. The portion of fried calamari was also very small and priced 15€. Souvlaki was ok but more fast food than restaurant quality. The service was slow and we needed to ask several times for some basics like water, french fries and ketchup. It is really a tourist trap so please don't fall into it...

After a couple days you think Crete has no tourist traps. So without thinking you just go sit at any bar and think the service, quality and price will always be good. Boy were we wrong. Ordered a large beer, that means you get a "boot" beer. It tasted awful, didn't even get a bit tipsy from 1L beer (probably 50% water), and wasn't even really cold. And to top it of, it costs €11. The cocktails were "happy hour" only €7. But when we asked to pay they were magically €9. When we told the waiter he corrected it, but still... Also tasted watered down. After looking at the reviews i understood this was not an incident. And even weirder, all the other bars have good ratings? How this one is allowed to survive is beyond me. We felt so comfortable here that we let our guard down, and payed a heavy price.

Definitely tourist trap! Service was ok also the view. But you should avoid this place! We couldn’t eat or enjoy the “ fish plate” for 69 Euros. Awful 😣 we paid over 115 Euros for a really bad dinner. The name seems to have changed but the lack of quality has not.

Avoid this place at all costs !!! The owner will always try to claim that his internet connection is not working and that you should pay with cash only. The commission of the ATM located conveniently in the same resto is 4E and this is not by chance. The food is average at most and the owner will try to serve you with the most expensive 11E beer. I would give 0 stars if I could..

We had drinks only - two coffees and water. It’s a cozy place, nearby the pedestrian area by the shore - port sidewalk. I see a lot of bad reviews for food but we hadn’t had a food so, can only say the coffees were needed :)

The restaurant...very nice view...the only thing nice I can say about it! Very high price, which are accompanied by the incredible small portions served by the totally disorganized staff...who were very kind though! Sadly, it was our last dinner, so we could not wash out the bad taste of the amazing, otherwise, Greek/Crete hospitality, food and service!

DO NOT!!!! One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever eaten at anywhere. Definitely the worst restaurant I’ve eaten at in Greece and we’ve been here for three weeks and on 5 islands. Any restaurant that sends a guy out to try to talk you into going inside should be a red flag. The pork fillet is absolutely like eating shoe leather. He told us when we went inside that if we didn’t like anything would be free, that turned out to not be true- We’ve been in Chania for four days and it was the most expensive meal we’ve eaten and also the worst. The potatoes were burned, and the bill was also incorrect and I got seriously angry with them. All the while they pass the buck to the next guy. But in the end it’s their country, I made the mistake of going in, I paid them and left. Please do not go here this is one of the worst restaurants in the world

Genuinely **please** do not go here. Came for a drink as a group of 9, absolutely zero alcohol in the drinks. I wish I was exaggerating, but all 8 cocktails we ordered tasted of fruit juice. Horrendous. Admittedly we should have researched before going - but for the love of all that is holy DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR.

Had dinner here tonight, bit shocked reading the reviews. We had no issues. Good food, receipt balanced, we paid cash. -1 as service a little slow and brought me e the wrong wine (but I drank without complaint)

Was tricked into a meal at this restaurant at the offer of a free bottle of wine if we had the dinner there. We accepted the offer but alas this was a hoax. Let alone the trickery, I've had better food elsewhere to a way better price.

Definitely worth 5 stars! Just having a drink on a hot day, we should have known better. A real "tourist trap", photos of the most delicious dishes and a boss who lures everyone in with sweet talk. And then it has only just begun! It was not a busy day, but we still had to wait a long time before someone came to take our order. We asked for a menu, but this was too much. We just had to say what we wanted to drink, if it wasn't there he would tell us. There was no evidence of Cretan hospitality, even a carafe of fresh water was too much. He asked if we also wanted water and brought us a small disposable bottle with the order, which was also charged for. We had already asked to pay several times, but no one bothered to come by. other tables were not so patient and went to the cash register themselves to pay. When we finally got our bill we already made a comment to the owner regarding his behavior, but he didn't care. Even when paying himself, he couldn't even be bothered to give the correct change and we had to ask for this. That is why our visit is worth these 5 stars; FOR ARROGANCE!

Classic tourist trap and we fell for it! Drinks orders were taken before any prices were shown the “House wine” turned out to be €26. The menu is very expensive, especially compared to neighbouring restaurants. The quality of food was standard. Told the kids got half price on the adults menu, one child did and it was a full adults size meal. Overall it was a real shame as we wanted to try somewhere knew and thought they would all be a similar price.

  • 1/5 Kirsty H. 2 years ago on Google
To echo all the other reviews, these were the most expensive drinks we've had anywhere in Crete - and easily the worst. The view was great, but our enjoyment was spoiled by the two incredibly pushy 'salesmen' chasing and cornering tourists on the harbour front. Deeply uncomfortable to watch. Not a waiter in sight so wouldn't have been able to order another drink if we'd wanted one. Had to go into the restaurant kitchen in search of someone to pay so we could leave. Pick literally anywhere else.

Was lured into the restaurant promised a free glass of wine and if food wasn’t good it will be free! The food was okay, nothing special. Only got our empty plates taken away once requested the bill! To our shock! 83 euros for a shared meat platter and salad!! Completely incorrect and got told is 11 euros for 2 small glasses of wine! NOT free! Absolute rip off! Worst meal on the island! Waste of money, and by far the most expensive!!

Such a wonderful experience!! The customer service is exemplar, and my friend and I are so touched that we are creating this review whilst sipping on our white wine looking out at the lighthouse. A brilliant view, great service, delicious food, wonderful customer service. Would 100% come again. Sad to see the low reviews, and I say, come experience it for yourself!!

👍 Location is excellent, near the port, but secluded enough to not be in the main tourist paths, in the shade.
