Ahhh, my sacred place. Been a customer since the early aughts. Coming here over the years I’ve learned that my life’s little problems always seem to go away with good beer, cheese curds, and some laughing and flirting with the staff. I’ve instructed my family to scatter some of my ashes here with the understanding they will probably have to go straight down one of the toilets to comply with Chicago health code. I’m good with that.

Wonderful experience at Village Tap. Seating is first come first serve and they have seating inside and outside. Wide selection of beers on and seltzers to choose from. Limited food menu, but everything was spot on. Started with the cheese curds which were airy and light. The steak salad was perfectly seasoned and made as ordered (medium rare). Staff was super friendly and would highly recommend coming here for a drink and meal.

Good bar with a really nice patio and beer garden area. The food and beer is really tasty and it's so nice to sit outside and eat during the summer. It took a while for us to get served when we initially sat down, but I'm wondering if it was just a particularly busy evening. I recommend the cheese curds as an appetizer as they were really good with the chipotle mayo sauce!

Really love this place for an after work gathering! Sometimes there's a mean server, but we still keep going back. Best cheese curds!!

Didn't try the food so not bashing them. The atmosphere was nice and the bar tender/servers were attentive and nice. It's a local pub so it's perfect for what it is.

Bar and restaurant. Menu offers surprisingly a good selection of apps, salads, tacos, sandwiches. Great drink specials on Monday night if you attend comedy show! Beers were $2.50 and shots for $3. The comedy show is in the back patio. Only complaint is the picnic tables can get uncomfortable after a while.

Infatuation gave this Chicken Caesar Wrap the #1 spot in all of Chicago. It was definitely a 10/10!

My favorite neighborhood pub in Chicago. Where everybody knows your name, no matter who you are. Great taps, even better staff. Photo Booth and Golden Tee! 🍀 ⛳️ #cheesecurds

Fantastic! Great little beer garden, good beers/sours. Not to mention the food. We had Nachos and a Steak salad as a family of 3! Couldn’t even eat the salad as the brisket nachos were amazing. $40 each but with two drinks each it was worth it.

Great place! We had an amazing waitress tonight. We sat outside. Only issue is there is no Wi-Fi here which is inconvenient because I wasn’t able to access my work emails. Other than that - great local spot!

Cool dive bar, funny and personable staff, good vibes. Loved the cider they had on tap and the bartenders were hilarious and easygoing. Definitely a fun, welcoming bar worth checking out on the weekend.

The nachos are a must! Would definitely recommend getting a half order for two people, the full order is huge. Beer selection is fantastic and the prices are excellent. The atmosphere is friendly and skews older, real local pub vibe.

Our favorite bar! Even though we no longer live in the neighborhood, we still come back for the cozy atmosphere, well curated selection on tap, the best nachos, and fantastic servers. You feel enveloped by warmth as you walk in. The fireplace in the front room and the one in the beer garden (wish it was on all the time), along with lights strung over the ceiling and walls and around the windows facing Roscoe street, create a warm bubble away from everyday worries. There are large TVs in both rooms with various games going at any given time. The beer selection is solid with local favorites and seasonal offerings, but also something new and interesting on tap no matter when you stop by. I love that they carry Phase Three Brewing with their small batch creations as I’ve had the best fruity sours and nectars from them. The nachos come with everything on them including guacamole and sour cream, and are topped with a generous portion of tender short rib beef from Slagel Farms. What makes this place so special to us is the staff, especially Mary and Dominic, who always welcome us with a smile, take a minute to chat with us, are knowledgeable about current drinks on tap, and never once impatient with my decision making process (often involves some tasting ;) The Village Tap is our happy place!

This is the best bar in Chicago by far. Incredible beer list and killer food but most importantly the BEST staff in town. Owner is a solid dude. Don’t skip the Beer garden in the back!

Great spot, with fantastic food! I had the bacon and egg burger, it was cooked to perfection and loaded with bacon. The chicken Cesar wrap was phenomenal and loaded with chicken. Great prices on food and drinks! We will 100% be back

Great food and heavy pours. DOGS COME IN FOR TREATS!! Yupp, that is right, the neighborhood dogs know they can do big sits on the front mat and get treats from the bartender! 10/10 for neighborhood bars.

You know how Olive Garden used to have the slogan "when you're here, you're family?" Well, at Village Tap, that's actually true. This was the first bar we stumbled into when we first moved here in 2017, and still the bar we stumble into (and out of) five years later. We'll start with the beer. Other than The Green Lady, you'll be hard pressed to beat their tap list, always the latest and greatest hazies from Phase Three, Hop Butcher and beyond. And if you're more the Krombacher crowd, they've got that too. The food? This is some of the best bar food you're ever going to find, from the nachos and grilled cheese to the absolutely perfect amish chicken sandwich, almost the only thing I've ever ordered. What about the atmosphere? Well, here's the thing. Village Tap really is a big family. They welcomed us in when we first moved here five years ago, and they continue to be some of our favorite people all these years later. Dom. Meg. Edgar. Mary. Jeff. They've made us feel welcome and gave us a place to call home. Best bar on the North Side and I won't hear any different.

A traditional hangout for theatre types, music mavens, and the other indigent professions of the neighborhood searching for the best atmosphere, food, and drinks on Roscoe. As Billy "The Poet" Blake was heard to mumble over his shot-n-beer: "A good local pub has much in common with a church, except that a pub is warmer, and there's more conversation."

One of the best "local" bars you can go to. High quality food, great draft craft beers, and friendly service. Wish all bars were run this way, a Chicago classic.

I walked in newly sober from alcohol and the bartender made me a surprise mixed drink mocktail which was delicious! Corn dogs were hot and crispy. I will be coming back.

I had the shrimp sliders, a smoothie seltzer, and fried zucchini. I enjoyed it all and will probably be back.

Great rotating beer selection, outdoor space, and food!! The staff is always friendly and on point, even when slammed by the unexpected nice weather days where they're packed on a Monday

Always very prompt service. Food is good without being just greasy bar food. Can find someone for the kids even (corn dogs too!).
