Receptionists are rude and seem to get satisfaction in deliberately being that way. Impossible to get an appointment, waited half an hour in a queue to be told to ring back at 1.00, which is a regular occurrence. When you do get to see a Doctor the service is no better - with the exception of Doctor Smith. If you have a choice , go elsewhere. I have serious doubts about the way this surgery is run. Could not post comment without giving 1 star rating otherwise it would have been 0 stars.

My GP will tell me they need me to make another appointment for in 3 weeks time (for example) but this surgery only does "on the day" appointments - you can't book in advance and you must call at 8am to be able to get one of these... but if you're caller 15+ then you'll get cut off, lose your place in the queue and by the time you finally get through after dialling again appointments have all gone - the GP *may* be able to call you (but often won't until 6pm or the next day) because the receptionists decide the priorities despite not being qualified healthcare professionals. I don't think I have ever seen the same GP in my entire time being there so have completely inconsistent care and advice, and multiple times, I've seen somebody I was led to believe was a GP but isn't so they have to go and check with someone who is! My appointments are almost always over the phone and I've been left on the same medication for 7+ years now without regular medication reviews despite raising my concerns about physical and mental side effects. In the past, I've even been left in the waiting area on my own until closing time and it was only when the final member of staff was due to leave that they informed me that the GP I was there to see hadn't been in the surgery that day... I was left for over an hour waiting for an appointment with someone who wasn't there and no one thought to tell me when I had "checked in"! In my opinion, the surgery has taken on too many patients and is no longer effective at the role it's supposed to provide to our community. Undoubtedly they will take on new patients from the new housing estates being built locally. The 1-star is because a) I can't give 0 stars and b) Because I've had positive experiences with the nurses upstairs and when I had my COVID booster there.

Wife has been calling to try and get an appointment for our 1 year old who can't seem to shift a chesty cough, called 5 times now which can only be done on days she is not at work due to the time it takes to get through. Everytime we call there are no appointments available, ring 111. We then call 111, wait for a call back and they say your "doctors has a duty of care to see you call them and tell them you need to see a doctor". The whole system is a mess and people are told a & e is emergency only, can see why people go there to just get seen by someone especially when children are involved. Will be looking to move doctors at some point but I don't know how to go about selecting somewhere where you can actually see a doctor.

My mother is a patient of this surgery and is 85 years of age. She can never get an appointment, very rarely gets to see a doctor and as for actually making an appointment it's a joke, can be number one in the phone queue and get no response, then after twenty minutes or so get cut off and have to start again. If you are lucky enough to speak to an receptionist they think they are the Doctors and then decide if you should see an actual doctor. If I went to a garage I wouldn't expect the lad who sweep's the floor and makes the tea to diagnose my car's problem and tell me if I could see a mechanic or not. Got one star because you can't give no star's.

This is a useless surgery.if you call to book an appointment, they will ask us to call on the day you need an appointment. When calling in immediately surgery opened, 8am, they will say it completely booked for all day. If we insist for an appointment urgently, they would say gp will call you back. We have to wait all day for their call !!. Don't understand how all the slots have been booked over the night which was not allowed to book in advance. No help or proper advice is available from the receptionist and their attitude is very rude. We are very disappointed the way of their services provided for the needy people.

The moust unprofessional gp practice and I don't blame the doctors I blame the practice management. The personnel who answered the phone for a booking shouldn't be allowed to decide if someone needs a doctor or a nurse, they are not medical trained and they should stick only withe their phone jobs. This is the place where you have to queue every morning to see a doctor and no matter how sick you are the receptionist decide if you are able to see the doctor or if you need to come meny more mornings. People life shouldn't be in the hands of a receptionist. If you have any other options look for different gp practice.

I would award this surgery no stars if available, receptionists very rude and very unprofessional! Be prepared to wait at least 35minutes for the phone to be answered but more often than not you are cut off. You can only get telephone appointments on the day, have to ring up at 8am but because so many people ringing up all appointments taken by 9:00 therefore you have to ring again at 8: 00the next morning and so it goes on, I’ve rang up 3 days running without any success, There are no alternative arrangements to book telephone appointments in advance and as for seeing a doctor I’m unsure that any actually work there! You could go in person to surgery by 8am to make a telephone appointment but be prepared to wait 35 minutes to speak to a so called receptionist. This used to be a really good surgery in the days of Drs Greenhaugh, Holton and Evans but really gone down the drain. If you value your health do not join or do as I’m doing and change practices, just about had enough of them!

You would have more luck getting to the moon than getting an appointment at this surgery!!! And don't get me started on the rude receptionists!!! Absolutely disgraceful. How they work with the public I do not know. Apart from Dr Evans and Dr Smith that practice is awful!!

Worst medical practice I've been. One month on a waiting list attend the practice to be told unfortunately someone should have contacted you , we are unable to complete it Today you will need to wait another 1 month. This could have been better communicated the receptionist read my number back to me to ensure it was the correct one on the system. I wouldn't have been required to take time of work if informed. Wouldn't recommend to anyone

Last Tuesday the 7th of February, I had an ophthalmologist´ appointment for an eye infection. The lovely ophthalmologist sent me some antibiotics and, because she is not able to make the prescriptions, she sent a letter by email to the surgery requesting them and she also said that they would be ready by Thursday. Yesterday morning I did go to the chemist and I was told that they did not have anything under my name. I went to ask the receptionist team and they did not find anything on the system. One of them provided me an email address and asked me to contact with the eyes clinic and check if they did send it to the right email address!!! - Shocking that the patiences now do this job... Then, I did contact with the clinic and they confirmed that the ophthalmologist sent the email and also they would contact with the surgery to double check what the confusion was. The eyes clinic called me back after 10 minutes confirming that they spoke with the receptionist team and did send the letter again by email. Also recommended me to wait until the end of the day if not, the other option was to collect the letter by myself and take it to the surgery. This morning, I did go to the eyes clinic to collect the letter and took it to the surgery. What a surprise I have had when I was told by the receptionist team that I have to wait until Monday for having the prescription ready... So, I do have to do part of the job, go to the clinic and take the letter to the surgery... - I have never hear that patiences have to deal with this now - and then wait nearly a week to collect a prescription!! I am a very empathetic person but I am not a fool and this is too much. I am a secondary school teacher, I always follow the procedures and respect the timings and I have to say that this is just a joke. I do not know if this complaint will make any effect or even if it will be read. I wanted to share my absolutely frustation about the admin work. I do not know if it is because they do not have enough staff or because the system does not work but it is completely schocking that patiences have to be in this kind of situation. P.S.: On the other hand, I am also still waiting to receive a copy of my son's blood results which I also sent an email to request them as I was told because "I should not use the NHS app to check them" - This is a comment that another member of the receptionist team told me yesterday afternoon.

I have recently joined this surgery as I was unable to get an appointment at my previous surgery. I was able to easily book my initial appointment online and then a fabulous lady on reception called Mandy helped me book my second appointment and the doctor called as promised. Very impressed.

Had an appt today which was booked by the doctor yesterday. Turned up today for the appt to be told the doctor can't see you as they are in a meeting. Did she not know this yesterday afternoon when she booked me in. Was the told that the reception staff would call me by 1pm as also needed a form signing as it should be completed by then. Turned up at the surgery at 4pm and what a surprise form has gone missing and that person is now in a meeting and can be disturbed. Whatever you do DONT join this surgery and need to see a GP. You've got more chance of hell freezing over.

Dear Holbrooks Health Team, From getting an appointment to actually speaking to a GP is draining! It’s made worse by explaining your health problems over and over again when it should already be on the system! I am well aware that GPS are inundated however going through a patient’s before calling and dealing with the issues at hand helps both the patient and yourselves. I for one do not enjoy calling the regular doctors surgery call I have to make because I am in constant pain. I prefer being in good health as do many. We are human-beings too! This is appalling!

You cannot get a appointment. You have to explain everything to a receptionist with no medical training and they decide if you can talk to a doctor or not.

Horrible practice. Doctor Smith initially ignored my requests for her to stop inserting my coil because it was too painful and then outright refused saying, "we're nearly done." I was left in so much pain from her illegal behaviour that I couldn't hold my 9 month old for almost 24 hours afterwards. She's absolutely vile and has scarred me for life. The receptionists are often extremely rude, especially since Covid and do not take patient concerns seriously. The whole place needs shutting down because they do not care about patients. If they had given me a postnatal check last year, my PTSD would have been diagnosed far earlier.

Happy with all the help I have received from these guys. Dr Evans left but he found my problem and I was referred straight away, today I know that if he didn’t help I still wouldn’t have my baby. Weird how people say they can’t get an appointment but every time I ring I get same day appointment or out of hours one. I do appreciate all your work! And thank you for trying. Shame that people don’t appreciate the fact that I’m some countries health care is not free and most can’t afford it ! We have what we have but just be grateful for these doctors, nurses and staff / they studied to help you so thank them everyday as they save lifes everyday.

My family and I have all found that the GPs here have outdated and damaging views. We have been left feeling invalidated and unsupported physically, emotionally and mentally. The prescription approvals process is a mess and appointments are rushed. The service provided is appalling. I have no idea how the CQC didn't rate all areas as inadequate.

Receptionists do what they can over the phone, GP's I was sad when Dr Evans left. Dr.Kleine and Dr. Wilson are very thorough.. They are trying their best, at a very difficult time. Getting an appointment when urgently needed is very hard and receptionists can only prioritise, offer what they see available on their screen.

All the staff are really friendly, I find it really easy to get an appointment recently - this has improved over the years, the phone is always answered and no more long call waits. The reception staff do what they can to get an appointment for you.. either by phone or future appointment. Dr Kleine is always really thorough and honest - I feel I can trust what she says and she knows what shes talking about! & always makes me feel comfortable and that shes taken a full interest in what my concerns or issues are no matter how busy the surgery is.

I don’t rate this doctors one bit. I’ve been hear for 10 years plus and it used to be one of the best in holbrooks I had a baby 5 months ago and still haven’t had a postnal check. My baby has just not me. I found the doctor rude. Dr Kleine Also I took my 2 year old to the gp about a really bad cough. With my babies dad. And this doctor dr kleine said oh I need to see you to go on contraception I thought it was very rude. I was there for my son. Not myself. That could have been my dad with me and my medical records should not be disclosed and discussed in front of others. I’m unhappy about this and the service.

It is my second GP I have been registered with, and I am very satisfied with their service. I have been with them for 4 years now, I never had any issue booking an appointment or getting answer to my questions. Reception staff was always friendly and helpful. Compare to my previous GP they are at the top level of patients service.

Awful service. Receptionist are horrible and just do bot want to help or give alternatives. It seems the receptionist just want to get rid and fob off. I called a few weeks back was on hold for 30 minutes, automated service kept saying your caller number 20 odd. I decided to keep the call active and drive to the surgery, i parked abd and walked into reception and the two receptionists are chatting away and having coffee. I tild them that the automated service is still saying im in a queue of (still) 20 odd callers but you seem to be chatting and not even on a phone. The receptionist reply was oh the phone system must be messed up as we have had no calls come through. HOW CONVENIENT

The most arrogant and reckless surgery I have ever experienced. Unhelpful and rude receptionists treating you as unwelcomed guests. Quite a memorable experience. Yet there are few admin staffs who are willing to help as always in unfavourable situations.

I have been a patient at this practice for a long time and have never been particularly impressed with it. I don’t go that often and that’s partly why I haven’t found somewhere else. However, whenever I wanted an appointment I had to wait for an age to get through and even when I did I couldn’t get an appointment. I found the receptionists rude and abrupt. I felt frustrated with trying over and over just to get someone to see me. Having said that as of late, something seems to have changed and for the better. I am now able to phone and get through . I can have an appointment when I need it and it’s great . I just hope it remains this way.

I have just cone out of hospital and had to phone to arrange medication, Andrea was very helpful and empathetic and did everything to reassure me that it would be worth it in the end. She did everything to get my medication signed off by a doctor - even calling me back before her shift finished to let me know it would be ready to collect the following morning. Big shout out to the reception staff that get a hard time by some people😀 This isn't a one off as I have to arrange more medication and Naz was as helpful as Andrea and arranged a telephone call from a doctor the same day - and I didn't ring until 10am. Thank you for all your help 💯

Once waited 40 minutes for a receptionist to pick up the phone. Are they really THAT busy!?. GP's are great, however.

Came Monday to be told I’ve a virus. And to go and buy throat wash or spray. 3 days later I’m back with antibiotics I don’t feel if your poorly you have to wait until late afternoon for antibiotics when you’ve attended the appointment at 9 and the prescription to be sent over. Then to be told late afternoon it isn’t there. Total joke if I’m honest. Also my 3 year old is poorly too and was made to wait. I just feel this surgery and pharmacy has really gone downhill. If you’re poorly you should listen to how we feel we know our own bodies and I feel I always get fobbed off to a virus to then go back to be really poorly. Also feel like moving me and my family somewhere different I had a baby over a year ago and still no postnatal check. I feel there’s no compassion from some of the doctors

I was suffering with back pain and an appointment was made to see a Senior Doctor after I reported a particularly painful weekend. Dr Kleine almost immediately homed in on the issue....but continued to do a thorough assessment. She arranged for an MIR scan to be considered on an urgent basis and spoke to the neurology team at the Hospital... all while I was sitting in her surgery. I went to the hospital...but they sent me home...however Dr Kleine persisted and suggested a private MIR scan and wrote a reference for me at 9 pm in the evening to ensure I could get the scan immediately. The results of the scan , confirmed her concerns that I had a prolapse disc and I needed some urgent attention. Having got these results back from the MRI scan she again contacted Coventry University within the hour and arranged for a specialist to assess me and provided a reference from the Practice. She rang me at the Hospital at 8 pm to check something was happening. This is an example of the Doctor\ Practice going above and beyond my expectations...and I am indebted to her for her help. Thank you

Had an appointment with Dr Kleine she was very helpful and listened to me without any rush so can’t fault the surgery at all I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment when I’ve needed one and always phone me back when they say they will so can’t moan.

Despite all the negative comments on here, I can only say good things about Holbrooks Surgery , as when I needed help and struggled into the surgery, they came to my aid, the receptionist recognised I needed help and got a Dr immediately. They assessed me on the spot and arranged for an ambulance to transport me to UHCW I can’t thank them enough for the support they gave and for the professional manner in which they acted.
