Most reviews are based on the experienced of people who have had their love ones funeral here. This review is based on one of the employees who came into my facility and was very rude and disrespectful. Not only did he refuse to follow the facility protocols, he had no regard to the visitors nor residents of the facility. This employee used our main entrance as residents and visitors were present. He talked down to me as if I was telling him something wrong by asking him to use the back door. He then went further by saying that he didn't care what the protocol is, he will be using the front door today. I am very angry to have been talked to with such disrespect. If this is the kind of employees that works for this business, I will never suggest it or use it for my love ones. His energy was negative and I do not want any dealing with this location.

The Connelly Funeral Home was very communicative prior to my mother-in-law's wake. However, that communication apparently didn't serve a purpose... it was just fluff. When they prepared my mother in law for her visitation, they did her hair and makeup in such a way that she didn't look remotely like herself. It was traumatic. I was convinced they had laid out the wrong person. Don't come here unless you want a rude surprise on an already emotional day.

Everyone was was exceptionally professional but at the same time genuinely sympathetic, kind, and caring with all family and friends regarding our deceased loved one. Greg Connelly is just woderful..he is a kind and gentle soul. Terry Connelly was very understanding when we asked to do a few things on our own. The staff were exceptionally nice to our family. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts...my sister Anna Rose would have loved it...I also want to mention Melissa..she is the sweetest. Anything we needed and asked for she was right there...John, Tim and the other girls were wonderful...bless you all.

The staff at Connelly went above and beyond for us and treated us with respect and kindness. No request was too big or too small. They made us feel welcomed and at ease. We highly recommend Connelly Funeral Home.

I was very disappointed with the Service. We requested 5 songs from different artists that would have been perfect under the situation. Instead, they played songs by one artist that was not on the list we provided. Also, the DVD with the pictures of his life were in the back of the room and the family literally had to turn around to watch it.

Do not go here. They will not let us see my mother in an open casket. You can only have the funeral with as many people as you want. The casket has to be closed. You cannot have a viewing. You cannot go there to pick out a casket. We have to give her clothes at the door. All because of the civic. This is not how you are suppose to say bye to a loved one.

Connelly treats your loved ones like they are their own family. I’ve had all of my loved ones arrangements handled by Connelly funeral home in Essex and from start to finish they treat you with compassion and respect. This past August, the opportunity opened to become part of their team. I have loved working there, everyone is kind and understanding and I see first hand how well your loved one is taken care of. It feels good knowing that we can give some comfort to people who are dealing with one of the worst times in their lives.
