Not nice. The gelato waas not a good quality gelato compared to the Classic taste of a nice creamy gelato. It was a little tasteless and the cones, the waffle cones taste old and dry. The chocolate around the cone tastes lie plastic and cheap. The price for these was not cheap, 5 Euro for 1 small cone, really? They also only let you have 1 flavour to taste and the ladies that worked there seemed quite uninterested in their job (most of them, not all). I would not recommend. Tourist trap

I am reading a lot of reviews talking about how expensive this place is. Yes I think $18 for three gelatos is a bit steep but it's not outrageous, especially when you consider we chose to sit down. I might not come here often but I wouldn't have a problem paying that on occasion when visiting the Ponte Vecchio.

The ice cream is super expensive. The portions are too big. We asked for smaller portion (for the price of the big one) as it was too big for kids to eat but they didn't want to serve it smaller!!! If you order ice cream in the cone inside, you cannot sit on the tables that are outside, even if you want to order coffee outside!!!! You can only eat it inside. The owner/manager is super rude. When I asked for the bathroom I was told in a rute way that it was only for the customers. I told them that I just payed 50euros for the ice creams so I believe I was a customer. The lady said ok and started laughing (I believe because of her own lack of intelligence). Avoid such places. Way overpriced!!!!

Rude waitress and expensive for the quality. Have to say, the girl on the ice cream balcony was very friendly! but an Ice cream cone for € 6 and be shouted: you can’t seat here or there is too much. Old lady waitress have a really angry face towards costumers and demands where you seat. Made me feel so uncomfortable I had to leave to have my ice cream somewhere else. Summing up Terrible service, expensive and low quality for the price. Save your money. There are plenty of better options and you will be better treated.

It is very expensive, but you could expect it from the location. The price is about three times more compared to other historical center places. However, that is not a shock considering that it’s Ponto Vecchio. They actually have the prices written down on the upper left side of the bar. Pros: - seating for ice cream inside an air-conditioned space; - great variety of gelatos; - table service with the outside seating; - a great place to rest for 10 minutes right on Ponto Vecchio. Cons: - they don’t let you taste any ice cream before buying; - the portions are just too big, and people are throwing more than half of it right in the bar’s trash bin; - the ice cream is way too sweet (sorbet is a bit better in this regard); - the ice cream comes without any extra cookies or decorations that usually are added for free in the cheaper places; - nothing is suited for those with milk allergy or vegans; even sorbets have some milk inside; - they don’t let you use their toilet even to wash your hands before or after eating ice cream if you didn’t use their table service.

Despite the lovely location and good coffee, the experience was mired by a bill that was double what we have been paying at other comparable caffes in the centre of Florence. 17 euros for 2 espressos, 2 pastries and water. It's a shame because this short sighted approach to pricing will just ensure they never have repeat customers.

Gelato is just okay but very pricy. 2 scoops for 6.5€ with unnecessary big cone. My friend order one scoop with waffle cookie was 8€. The staff is super unfriendly. We ordered the gelato and trying to get the outdoor seating which were super empty. They told us gelato is either indoor (with limited seats) or take away only. There is even no tasting for the gelato either.

One star is already too polite to them. This place is just disgusting. They will charge you huge amount of money especially if you are turists. 10euro for a gelato. Especially the bar tender inside whoes name is Leo, arrogante, and no manner at all. They are absolutely thieves. Nothing else to say. Plus, they don’t even know how to make caffe.

The ice cream is really nice!! But for 10 euros??? No way!!! I have recently discovered that there are other places too that they are selling ice cream for 10 Euros. This place was the best. But still, it is we expensive.

Very expensive. Croissante was very good, coffee mediocre, kinda bad. But the prices on the menu differ than the prices on the wall. A coffee is 4-6 euros and an icecream is extremely expensive. A croissant is 3-4 euros and is quite tasty. Would go elsewhere

While each scoop is generous in size, the gelato is over-priced (€6.50 for one scoop), over-sweet (so much so I couldn't finish it), and not very good. Just keep walking, and whatever you next see is certain to be better.

Really disappointed. Despite the great location, the Gelato was over the average price in the entire city and looked like it was thrown on the cone. The quantity was also way under the average in the city and any other gelateria in Italy.

First stop for gelato in Florence and it was absolutely delicious! Not big on ice cream in the states but I was ready for it at every moment here in Italy!

I absolutely agree with the negative comments. No possibility to get a small ice cream, no possibility to combine flavors. Rude and unfriendly staff, disgusting toilet!

NOT recommended. Prices super high for no real reason. I gor served a cold croissant!, I needed to use the toilet and it was dirty. Prices are just shamelessly exagerated. I wish I cheked the reviews earlier.

I’m afraid I have to add to the litany of poor reviews for this place. I too was shocked at the expense. However, it was not this fact that caused me to write this review. Given the location next to one of the most famous locations in the world, I can understand the expense. What got me was the rude, inflexible nature of the management. We wandered past quite late at night and fancied a gelato after dinner. After the shock of the bill, we thought we’d sit down outside to recover. We were told that the seats were only for those paying for table service. The place was empty. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

I wanna give them zero but no options. The girl at the ice cream bar was so arrogant and lacking service mind. The ice cream tasted like plain ice and it costed 6.5 euro for a small size. GO AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Real tourist trap!

We did a quick stop in for pastries and coffee to start our day. The barista took forever to acknowledge us, and they were not busy. Coffee was good, but pastries did not taste fresh, and we were there before 9.

Ice cream price was ridiculous, the seller ( probably owner) very rude. My friend wanted to buy a croissant and go out, but then the lady said, your friend sat down, so she had to pay bigger price. Very rude treating customers. Do not recommend, it’s better to walk a few meters and get much better ice cream for 1/3 price.

The ice cream is fine but the attitude have sooo much space for improvement. You buy an ice cream for 8€ and they do not let you eat it at the table. Cappuccino had no foam at all.

Went there for two medium ice cream cups on Sunday, I should have paid 16 euros, which is expensive. When I got home, I checked my bank balance and noticed a payment for 33 euros to Caffe Maioli. I've never been to a Caffe Maioli and never spent 33 euros. So after investigating this matter, I found out that Caffe Maioli was Bar Ponte Vecchio's previous name. And the reviews were even more appalling than the ones they have now. So I came to the conclusion that my card was overcharged when I made a contactless payment. The cashier announced 16 euros but charged me 33 euros instead but I have no way of getting a refund now as I can't prove I only bought two cups. I didn't get a receipt and they weren't even friendly. Total rip off. Avoid this place.

The Asian guy at the ice cream counter is SOOO rude! Like he hates even responding to a nice comment or question about a flavor. If you hate your job then just quit and DONT work. We were the first costumers so he doesn’t even have the excuse of being tired from a long day.

TOURIST TRAP!!! ZERO STARS!!!! Rude service and overpriced!!! 20 Euro for 2 gelato?!! We ordered 2 small and they gave us 2 mediums. No tastings either. There is a mean old witch who runs the place. AVOID!!!

Rip off but absolutely incredible ice cream. They don't have any prices displayed which should have told us it was going to be a joke but we had already ordered by the time we noticed. 18 EUR for 2 cones! Christ! They obviously just make up prices depending on how touristy you look. They can get away with it due to location but it would be a 5 star place with a loyal following if they priced transparently and fairly. Honestly, the icre cream was the best we had in all of Italy but just so overpriced.
