You should see this Amberg sight. Beautiful restorations to the building inside and out. Numerous parking spaces available in front of the building. Accessible staircase to the right of the building. There is a beautiful path through the forest for walking, which can also be used as a nature trail. In the adjoining forest you can see many bike tracks and jumps.

It's actually only a 950 m walk from the train station, but it's a tough one. A steep path that was difficult to manage at 30 degrees 🙃 but it was worth it! You will be rewarded with a gigantic view of Amberg. It was also just before sunset, in my opinion the best time 👌. Unfortunately, the church and the restaurant were (permanently) closed. You can take great photos.

Very beautiful pilgrimage church and you should definitely take a look at it, you can also go for a nice walk here.

Very beautiful, baroque, Catholic pilgrimage church. Very good view of the city of Amberg and the surrounding area. Good parking options. There used to be a very good restaurant next to the pilgrimage church with good home cooking. Unfortunately it's closed and you can't find anything in the surrounding area. The exception is the period from the end of June to the beginning of July, when the mountain festival takes place here and where beer and bratwursts are served.

This church is simply breathtaking. I've seen it so many times, but I always leave this place with a new, wonderful impression. Really a magnificent pilgrimage church worth seeing where you can find peace, pray, etc. Afterwards it's also worth walking the "Sun-Moon-&Stars Path [that's what my daughter calls it] in the forest at the end of the parking lot. Very nicely done. It's a marked small circular route.

A need to see in Amberg. You can go by car most the way up the hill. Parking is a little strange, but feasible. The church is very pretty. Ask for the little cannon ball above the entrance of the building. The hill restaurant is going to be closed until next year due to restauration work.

Beautiful Church on top of a hill with astounding views of Amberg

This is a typical german restaurant with a great view when you sit on the patio. We went there today just to have the duck bit we got there too late and it was sold out, darn... we had a wonderful Leberködel soup and then the Sauferle which is a special kind of pork roast and it was absolutely delicious!! The service is nice, a little slow when there are busy but no complaints. You have to try thos place, all their dishes are wonderful!!!

The restaurant is always a great place to go and have a meal or coffee with a dessert. On Sunday they serve a duck entree that is amazing. It is best to make reservations on the weekend. You will need to go soon as the place is going to close due to some contract issue with the church. A great place for a view and visit the church and surrounding area. Highly recommended.

The Sanctuary is situated upon a hill providing not only a captivatingly elegant cathedral and grounds, but an beautiful elevated view of Amberg, and a very lovely old forest on the opposite side of the parking lot in which to walk and contemplate.
