Just try the small sections of authentic Thai dishes in the menu. It's pretty good for authenticity. Seems to be food on point now after many times I have eaten here since they open. I think I trust papaya salad with crab or with fermented fish in this restaurant the most. Elements of flavors are just right. Sweet, spicy, salty, sour, and not too overwhelming fermented flavor. Pair with sticky rice that makes this salad top shelf. Mussel Cake is pretty good as well. Not much of the mussels but pancake really crispy and flavorful. Still BYOB

This place was open for Christmas so we stopped in and hands down BEST THAI we’ve eaten. I always look at cleanliness, customer service and food quality and flavor. This place is definitely a 10 with them all. Presentation with the food was great, quality and taste is honestly something to brag about yes Instagram worthy . We ordered the vegetarian egg rolls, fried pork ribs , Grilled squid, and spring rolls in rice paper. For dinner we had garlic chicken, pepper beef and cucumber salad. I won’t bore you with any more words, your taste buds deserve this deliciousness. You won’t regret it. Definitely was a Christmas gift for us finding this place. Oh and I was told to mention the hot sauce . Lol my dad says it’s killer hot sauce and definitely makes ya sweat. He says he needs to bring some home . I guess that means the hot sauce is great .

I am Thai and I love Real Thai 🇹🇭. The presentation was exciting, colorful, clean and fresh. We love grilled pork intestines, glass noodles salad(spicy), crispy fried mussel pancake(try it), they were so delicious 😋. The best of this restaurant is quality of ingredients. I will try their noodles next time.

I love it, I come here after school. The food is amazing, you HAVE to have the Thai iced tea. It’s out of this world.

We were driving through Chicago and needed some food, but it had to be something real special. Voila!! We came across this little place (not too far from where serial killer John Wayne Gacy's old house used to be). Don't let that little macabre factoid stop you from enjoying some seriously good food here. GET THE INTESTINES!! It's probably one of the best and cleanest tasting intestine dishes I've had. And that delicious tamarind sauce that comes with it... superb! Everything was delightful. The people were friendly, food yummylicious, and you can even drive by the Killer Clown's old lot. 😃

Food was delicious!! Authentic, flavorful, and clean. My new go to spot for Thai food. Ordered carry out - Tom Yum soup, Kee Mao, Pad Thai, and green curry dish. All were excellent. Chose 3-4+ spicy and it was perfect for my taste. I like it spicy. Go gentle (1-2+) if you're not a spice fan. Much better than any Thai restaurant in the area. I've tried them all. I will definitely order regularly. Can't wait to try other menu items. Thank you so much Real Thai - you've reminded why I love Thai food so much!

The food is delicious. I order delivery from here too regularly now. Best thai food for the price I’ve had in Chicago. The red curry is excellent and I consider the portion size perfect. Pad Thai is also generously sized and very tasty. Always delivered hot. Thank you very much for the great food every time. Looking forward to exploring more options on the menu but I just can’t stop ordering the red curry.

Authentic, Northeastern style Thai food - reminds me of home cooked meal back home. The Jungle Curry and grilled marinated pork are perfect together! Only 15 minutes from ORD. Staff are very warm and welcoming. I will definitely come back again and again.

A wonderful addition to the area food places! FRESHER, healthy, hipper fare. A "secret Thai menu" that is waiting to be explred top-to-bottom. Our Real Thai Veggie Noodles were perfect (carry-out; we live up the street). Good space that was always home to other venues that we're glad are gone. The menu is pretty long, so be brave or just plan on a lot of return visits. We LOVE Thai, and always headed to Cozy Noodle while at Cubs games. So now we have an excellent, new, happy place down the block. REAL THAI is another reason to never move! –Mark Braun, (Retired) food guru formerly of Food Industry News

Heard many good things about this Restaurant. So I had to try it for myself. The Restaurant was Open for take out & Delivery. Everything was very clean inside. I ordered through there web site on yelp to save the extra 10%. Every little bit helps during this time. I went with the Crab Fried Rice (great portion size, & plenty of crab meat), Crying Tiger Beef (was a bit dry but still enjoyable), Garlic Pork Ribs (one of my childhood favorites), Papaya Salad with Fermented Fish & Crab (loved the flavors salty, sweet, sour & spicy), & the Corn Salad (my Absolute favorite. Can't find this anywhere else in Chicago unless you make it yourself). The Service was on point. Bee was very nice & brought the food out to my car when it was finished. Will definitely, be back to try more items on the menu!!.

Superb customer service! Beautiful inside, very clean, very good food! We ordered chicken wings, grilled squid, pad Thai with chicken, and Panang curry with tofu! Everything was delicious! Pad Thai sauce could have used a little more tamarind to my liking though. I love the option to choose your own spice level! The food was perfect temperature and prepared swiftly! Also we ordered the taro and coconut cream dessert which was amazing. Never tried it before but we really enjoyed it! We’re excited to try other items and their secret real Thai menu! This places menu seems super authentic and we are very exited that they have joined our neighborhood! :)

Omgoodness gracious I am speechless! We love Thai food and it is hard to find authentic clean flavors. We ordered for the first time and we were BLOWN away! I had the Northern Thai curry noodles, Cashew Chicken, Panang Curry, Pad Se Eew - beef (crispy noodles), potstickers, vegetable egg rolls, and Chicken Satay. First of all, let's talk about presentation. Everything came neatly packed with containers clearly labeled, the food items were plated as if you were receiving them from their hands inside of a restaurant. Now the taste, everything was spectacular. We always have leftovers...well, not today. My picky eater daughter who will always just eat two teaspoons of anything finished ALL of the Pad Se Eew. All the flavors were well balanced and clean (didn't leave a funny taste in your mouth). Nothing was greasy... not even the egg rolls and pot stickers. I highly recommend this place. I hope they have huge success so we never loose them. I can't wait to try ALL of the secret menu items.

Its not real basil but compare to all Thai restro i have been tasting, this restro is one of the best. No tomato, no broccoli and spicy enough to be Thai cusine. I ordered Som Tam Poo Plara(the Best), Tom saab kraduk Oon, Laab Kai, Krapraow Kai, Pad Thai Kai and fried pork rib, they are all yummy and real Thai taste. Recommended!!!

The Real Thai Restaurant is new, I got the Tom Yum soup and it so good! It is spicy and have a nice lime flavor to it. *I also added Sriracha because I like my food SPICY* I was very impressed! Since they have only been open for 6 days they gave us 15% off!

Very yummy food, great server, and cute interior. The spicy food was great! Had the red curry spicy level 3, and it was a spot on spiciness for me to enjoy yet still satisfied my spicy cravings. Also ordered the Thai iced tea which was very good!

Our favorite Thai takeout place in the area. I love the Pad Thai as well as the green curry. The basic fried rice is better than the name describes. I also recommend trying the iced coffee

Real Thai is the best authentic Thai food in the Chicagoland area. They have a secret Thai menu that offers items not found elsewhere. The beef tendon soup is unmatched anywhere. The tendon is like eating bone marrow, extraordinarily tender. Careful on the heat scale, 4 or 5 is pretty spicy and I make me own chilli oil with Thai red chili peppers. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Quite literally the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The heat was off and the whole place was cold. My friend asked for crispy noodles with her pad seew and they came out rock solid, the veggies were obviously microwaved. I ordered curry fried rice with beef and I am not exaggerating the plate was steaming hot, but somehow my first bite of beef was cold. What in the microwaveable food is this? When I asked to speak to a manager the server was telling me they have a no exchange or refund policy and because it’s on the menu if she takes back our dishes she’ll lose her job. Eventually, she ended up only charging us for our appetizers, but her attitude and demeanor were overwhelmingly impatient and anxiety inducing. As someone who’s been a server and worked in the industry for over 10 years I couldn’t believe her response. This place sucks.

Great food and reasonable prices. If there is an option to make your noodle dish crispy - do it. You won't regret it. HOWEVER, it is street parking only. To be on the safe side, park on a side street. Parking on Irving Park Road might be a challenge since it is so busy.

Great Thai food. We got the pad Thai, pad see eiw, fried rice and dumplings. Pad Thai was not too sweet, noddles were cooked just right. Level 2 spicy was actually quite spicy which I also enjoyed. Will definitely order again.

Tonight was our second time ordering from Real Thai. So far everything we've ordered has been excellent. We tried the shrimp in a blanket and I can't believe how good it was. The breading was light and flaky and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. So good!

We’ve ordered delivery from Real Thai twice and both times the food has been phenomenal! I’ve never had food so hot upon delivery. We highly recommend the pad Thai, pad see ew, crab Rangoon, Thai spring rolls and tamarind shrimp.

I ordered three different items with meat and one mixed vegetable also. There was barely any meat in the dishes. It was also the same tasting noodles in sumptuous amounts. Won't recommend it. I have been to a few Thai places and this was the worst one.

Ordered some see yu for take out and I was pleasantly surprised. I’m mostly new to Thai food and this was a great addition to the places I have gone to so far. The food was declined with the chicken and broccoli being nice supplements to the noodles. The only thing I was missing was a small bit of extra flavor which I got by adding more soy sauce. Price wise it is decent for how filling the portion of the food is. Will be back to try the rest of the menu and hopefully find in as well.

Absolutely excellent thai food. The pad kee mao was exactly the way I liked it - you could tell it was cooked in a hot wok, definitely had the flavor. Delicious and authentic for sure. A nice change from the Americanized garbage that most restaurants in Chicago serve. The panang curry was a little more watery than I like, but flavor was pretty good. Spring rolls were excellent. I will definitely be back.
