They say service can make or break an experience. We came here and for 15 minutes, one waitress just walked by us like we weren't there. At one point, I was waving both of my hands in the air trying to get her attention (picture me guiding a 747 into the gate). Everyone around me was laughing, because it was surreal that she would look at me Square in the eye then walk by us like we were invisible. As I started laughing and discussing it with the people sitting all around me (and having a great laugh about it), another waitress comes by (Nicole) who Apologizes profusely for the other one ignoring us. I laugh about it, order a couple of appetizers with my wife and leave. Nicole was wonderful which is why she got a 100% tip. So.. ask for Nicole and make sure you don't get this other one. Sitting the hour we were there, the other one wandered aimlessly like a failed influencer. I think she spoke to one customer. We (all the tables around us) watched with wide-eyed amusement. 😆

My beer was served warm, my fathers was in a heavily used/scratched glass, lettuce wrap looked like cat food served with wilted (black spots) lettuce. For the price it just isn’t with it. Lived on Oahu for 21 years and thought I’d try this place but certainly won’t be returning.

So the brash, unfriendly “bouncer” who initially has you do the Covid paper work before you enter the friendly shopping mall eatery, needs to bring it down about 70%… we almost left because of him. I would absolutely blow off this personality type at a nightclub or a concert but dude, it’s in a mall. I needed to sit down so it is what it is. They make you order food to have any drinks which we should have insisted upon looking at the menu first because if you don’t eat fish, your options are minuscule. The sweet and thorough waitress we had had the whole floor, at least from what I could see, what an awesome waitress!! Not sure if we’ll go back unless we see that it’s her working and they drop the “must order food” thing they have going on.

Cool open bar, but the drinks leave a lot to desire. That being said, they are the cheapest cocktails we have found so far! I am a stickler about mules being served in a copper mug or something and maybe adding just a little garnish would really make the drinks seem better. I know this is such a small thing, but like super easy to fix. Just had the two drinks so can't say anything about the food. Staff was nice.

Great place for cheap eats and cocktails in the Ala Moana shopping mall. Cute & friendly staff and cheap cocktails. Open air seating and live music are a plus for sure. $10 Mai Tais are $6.50 at happy hour.

My experience : The live music was amazing, I want this dude to sing at our wedding . being a solo person at this bar makes you invisible to staff. I was waiting over 20minutes for someone to recognize me. There were two waiters walking by but they did not make eye contact. The third one that came was serving on the other side and apologized, she said she couldn't see me because of the pillars. I don't like the QR code menus. I understand that it is easier but it somehow doesn't work with every phone. This restaurant doesn't even have a paper option. The menue on the homepage was outdated. I ordered the Edamame , Some Pokè and a Moscow Mule. The Cocktail Size was decent. The amount of liquor inside mediocre (didn't matter since I was not out to get hammered) The Poke was good and so were the Edamame.

Very nice. My friend and I enjoyed a few drinks there before going back to base. They have a variety of soothing, calm drinks to knock your socks off. All the drinks I had there were very fruity and seemed kind of healthy? In an organic kind of way. Most of them were infused with some kind of fruit/berry option. Very nice. Had sweet to bitter options as well.

Drinks are weak. They wanna charge you extra $6 to pour your own shots in, pretty suspect. Otherwise great place. If you wanna drink and have a good time, be prepared to order about 4 drinks before you feel anything. Food is good though.

Great restaurant at the Royal Hawaiian. It's right on the beach. The hotel is just stunning and very interesting. It is I think the 2nd oldest hotel in wakiki. It's easy to find because it's pink. The restaurant has access straight to the beach after you eat or you can come back and forth if you want a drink. The beach is great for swimming. It has beautiful views. It's not too hot because of the breeze. You will get burnt without sunblock though. Bring a float if your wanting to go further out in the water. We were there in the day. I think this would be a great restaurant at night as well.

Such a great variety of Mai Tai cocktails and also a large selection of other 🍹 drink - priced right! I wasn’t too thrilled about the food menu, but the live entertainment was on point! . We received pretty good service and the waitresses were cute in their “uniforms” (short dresses). I’ll go back

This was a nice find. Several Mai Tais on menu. Food was more bar lilke with a Hawaiian flair, but hit spot. Liked the laid-back couches that were an alternative to tables. My son had the hamburger on rice with gravy/egg and he loved it. I had a teriyaki burger plain, very cool flavor.

Good place visit and hear local music. They have high quality drinks , great atmosphere for watching sports and in the evening enjoy local bands play Hawaiian music. Great outdoor open air place. Food was typical pub grub quality.

My first visit was awesome, the waitress was friendly, prompt and attentive. The live music was great, the atmosphere was chill but lively. My second experience there was just okay, the server ignored us, didn't bring us our drinks. Brought out our food cold and she was not friendly at all. There was a 6 of us who flew in from Louisiana and Maui. We are all locals who came home for a graduation and we wanted to celebrate being home and we were kinda let down by this but the live music was worth it.

This place is a vibe for sure. Probably the only spot I go to in Ala Moana center. Live music there is always legit and the drinks are good. I usually order pitchers of beer, great deal

  • 4/5 J F. 7 months ago on Google
Better food than we expected given that it's a bar in the middle of a shopping mall. Our group ordered the fish tacos and burger, which were pretty standard and nothing special. But we also had the fried chicken sandwich and really enjoyed that. The fries were pretty good too. Unfortunately, due to the live music, it was impossible to hear each other. And the service wasn't great. Two members of our group got their food and then our waitress told us they couldn't make the third item. We ordered a different item. Once it was prepared, a different waiter clearly didn't know where it was supposed to go. We watched him set it down behind the bar and then our waitress realized it a few minutes later. No idea why he didn't ask anyone. So the third member of our group got his food after the other two had already finished their food. Also, the food is prepped at Olive Garden if you care.

The ambiance is warm and inviting, with soft lighting and traditional Hawaiian music playing softly in the background. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer feels welcome and well taken care of. Now, let's talk about the star attraction - the maitais themselves. Maitais in Ala Moana offers an extensive menu of these delicious concoctions, each crafted with precision and care. From classic flavors like pineapple and coconut to more adventurous combinations like passion fruit and guava, there is something for everyone's taste buds. The presentation of the maitais is truly a work of art. Served in beautifully carved tiki glasses adorned with fresh tropical fruits and colorful umbrellas, they are almost too pretty to drink. But once you take that first sip, you will be transported to a state of pure bliss. Maitais in Ala Moana is a must-visit destination for any cocktail enthusiast or lover of all things tropical. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and delectable maitai creations, it truly embodies the spirit of aloha. So next time you find yourself in Honolulu craving a refreshing libation, make sure to stop by Maitais - your taste buds will thank you!

Its sad that this venue is closing. I lived away for many years and one time coming to Hawaii and all my friends said "lets go to Mai Tai at ala moana.." I said a bar at ala moana? Yup! I didn't you there often, but always enjoyed supporting their live music!

I absolutely love this place. There's just something so relaxing about it. A gentle breeze is always blowing through the bar and I can sit and relax and watch a ballgame or listen to some really chill live music and wind down after the day. And I don't even drink! But the girls don't seem to mind. Oh yeah, and there's the girls, too, lol. And the food is good and reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed.

Happy hour drink specials are good, but the service was extremely slow. It took 10 minutes just for a waitress to come take our drink order and then another 10 minutes until we got the actual drinks. Used to like this place but it's gone downhill since then. Would not go back again based on the service alone.

Listen, this place is like my second home. I love coming here for their great drinks, good price and amazing staff. You can enjoy a classic or an icey mai tai while enjoying live music. They also have good food. I recommend their calamari or the onion rings. It gets pretty packed on the weekends as this is the spot to celebrate end of the week and welcome the weekend. If you're visiting I definitely recommend you visit this place, you won't be disappointed.

We did a party here with about 15 people. Two cabanas were reserved and we only received one. The drinks and food were good. We were charged $30 for 6 wings and they were cold. No one at our table received waters before we ordered or were served. We enjoyed the live music and the dancing.

Mai tai is pineapple juice mixed with a little bit of cheap rum. A skip of this place is a must. Server flirts with you more than serves food. Speaking of good it’s all marginal with a hefty price. Not even happy hour is worth it. You can do better . No wonder they didn’t have their lease extended.
