We were looking for a place to eat my family of five. We found this place. We asked some people drinking outside if it’s just a bar or restaurant and they said both to go inside to sign in. My husband and son went in to talk to someone and a worker came running at my husband with his arms open and yelled to get out and pushing him out the door. Not sure what his problem was but my husband said not to touch him. Another worker comes running up. My husband asked if this is how they treat all their customers and he said yes. We just turned around and left.

They're always rocking it. Have frequented here even prior to the pandemic. When places first started opening up, we only wanted to patronize places we felt had safe practices and protocols in place. They were ahead of the curve and thank goodness survived. They leave doors open, keep pretty good distance between tables, offer outdoor seating and disposable menus, have high ceilings and ventilation, wipe down tables and chairs after customers. The staff is always hustling and attentive. They manage to do it with a small but tight crew. Atmosphere is friendly, nice crowds and a good casual place to meet or have a small celebration. Pretty good amount of parking too. Oh, and did I mention the entire menu and food rocks? Can't go wrong with the $7 Happy Hour Menu, 5p - 7p. Order up on that one!! Yeah, baby! Kabocha and bacon is one of my favorites. Give them a try. I think you'll like it. Sorry, had such a nice time, forgot to take even more pics. 😁

We really enjoyed this local spot. There’s free parking! Make sure you park in the right stalls (the numbered ones alongside restaurant, there’s a posting on their door) HH 5-7p. We went on a Sunday at 5pm and got seated right away. There’s indoor/outdoor seating. We got many of the HH menu and one tataki steak off regular menu. My fav was the fish cake tempura and yaki negitoro don! Omurice was so yummy too. We wanna try the rest of menu next time! Will definitely come back! Oh, and the staff is super friendly!

Great place for dates and simply good food and drinks. They have an extensive menu from small plates to pastas and even foie gras. We didnt try that this time but we will they next time we come back. Attentive staff and service. Highly recommended. Save room for desserts too.

We only tried it for happy hour and it was pretty enjoyable! Got the agedashi tofu, Goya champuru, ahi bowl, omurice, and a shaken plum wine sake cocktail. The food was pretty good, and decent sizes for all being $8. The $5 cocktail was solid but wish it had come out chilled or with a big ice block in it. The regular menu has some interesting sounding pasta dishes and natto creations if you're adventurous, but we'd probably swing by just for HH on weekdays when it's not too crowded :)

Great food. Away from the busier tourist areas. Meals are mostly small plate tapas and also pasta plates. But even the tapas include items like 8oz steaks. They also have a cocktail hour menu for food which was large and included many tapas we wanted. Tapas were around $14 a plate regular menu price, cheaper on cocktail hour. We had steak, chicken, shrimp cocktails, and a cheese /cracker plate that included prosciutto over a slice of cantaloupe and accented with various berries. We all felt like the portions were great for the price and tasted fantastic. The drink menu was also large and the mixed drinks we had were delicious as well. If you want a great meal at a non-tourist restraunt and at non-tourist prices in Honolulu, you can't go wrong with Chez Kenzo. Will definitely return!

Great bar to hang out and enjoy food and drinks! Nothing fancy but a good variety of food and drink!

Great happy hour choices! And lots of local fare! Worth checking out…but you’ll need to get there by 5:00pm to get a table—filled up fast and people stay the entire 2 hours of happy hour. And free parking! Nice perk!

Came for dinner with coworkers for a good meal. The meal was tasty but nothing crazy good. That night was a short wait time but was seated about 10 minutes later. It was very loud that night (sub par club loud). Priced decently nice. Waiter forgot one of our desserts and an appetizer. When we first sat down, about 2-3 waiters asked if we were ready after 5 min of sitting in.

Very good food and a good atmosphere, We came and waited about 20 minutes for a table. I really wanted to try the Italian dishes. It's a good place for the after work crowd for 20-40 year olds. We're not, but still enjoyed being out and about. The servers were excellent and the food good. we'll definitely be back.

Good drinks! Especially if you like the sweet stuff. House dressing is really good! I wanted to take some home with me. Kinda loud so definitely not a date night restaurant/bar. The food was okay. Nothing that I would say "OMG...You gotta try this."

We met with a few friends for happy hour and ordered a bunch of stuff to eat family style. Even with 8 drinks and 6 main dishes shared, it was cheap! It was super busy, so we ended up eating outside with no wait.

Fantastic place for dinner. All of the food is amazing & the service was great. Atmosphere was loud & joyful. The drinks were unique with a good variety.

Great neighborhood bar and grill with superb and diverse tapas options, most Asian derived or infused. Larger plates, too. Very fine pasta dishes. Great cocktails and a huge list of microbrews, domestic and foreign, especially Japanese. Try 'em all. Very competent, friendly, welcoming, and attentive wait staff. These people know full well what they're doing. Tip them commensurately. Excellent venue to observe how native city residents of all ethnicities troop in to have a good time, relax in great company, and chow down. Go Already!

Found this amazing little gem by mistake and the first time we went we were unable to be seated because of how busy it was!! Sooo naturally we tried again!! Let me say the only thing that could be improved was ambiance. It’s a bit loud in the back room where we were sat, having said that it wasn’t unacceptable. Now for all the amazing. The happy hour is unmatched. The prices have been raised since some of the other pictures were taken but just by $1 mostly. The regular prices are really reasonable. I do with the portions were more consistent and a little bigger. Pork kakuni was delicious but 3 pieces of pork belly in the first dish and 5 pieces on the second order. The pork lettuce wraps were okay but again 4 pieces of lettuce and not large pieces. So the portions need to be more consistent and I feel larger. The antipasto was really good and that dish seemed full but only came with 2 pieces of rolled ham and they were 1 bite each. The agedashi tofu was really good and had a good amount of tofu with it! The rock shrimp deep fried was okay, but nothing much more than a shrimp cocktail with some sauce, which was pretty damn good. The sake drinks for $4 are delicious!! All in all this place is really delicious and a great value for what you receive. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Food was delicious! Very interesting menu choices. Prices are good. Cheap drinks. Service was okay. Restaurant was very busy and it seemed our server was taking care of the whole restaurant and making drinks behind the bar as well. So service was a bit slow. Had to search for our server a few times

Awesome food! Had the foie gras and steamed clams. Was about the best I've tasted and I've been to many fine dining restaurants! Definitely on my best list!

The best happy hour drinks. Nothing on the menu is not delicious and they have a great variety. Great for groups, and the staff is incredible. One of my favorite spots!!

Used to be good when it was covid but now their food quality and quantity went waaaayyyy down, prices went up as well. I really liked how they moved with a purpose and not just standing around picking their noses. Drinks tasted like water, no alcohol at all. Definitely won’t be coming back unless they bring back how it used to be.

We recently had a birthday party in their party room. All I can say is that they have awesome food/drinks, great service and good prices. Everyone raved about the food and service. Everyone who were there mentioned that they will be back for more great food and drinks. Thank you Chez Kenzo for a memorable night.

For all the right reasons, this was one of the most memorable meals I’ve enjoyed in Hawaii. This is genuinely complex and enjoyable food. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, and the staff were warm and convivial. Prices are extremely affordable, especially so during Happy Hour.

Food was tasty and a good price, so were the drinks! Was extremely loud on a Friday night to where we had to leave early, service was alright too. However I would come back! A nice spot to grab a drink and catch up with friends. Just beware they don't update the online menu as often as their actual menu.
