On last Christmas Day, my wife and I wanted to try a wonderful dining experience before leaving Honolulu. We checked nearby when we were in Waikiki area using Google map. We quickly identified Herringbone, which had more than 4.0 rate. So we decided to have a seafood dining at this restaurant. It was very friendly and easy to get a nice table. We ordered two main dishes, one was Seafood Squid Ink Risotto at $48, another was Roasted Hawaiian Stripe Marlin at $38. When we were served, the quality and quantity, and taste were unsatisfied. Very small amounts. For example, Seafood Squid Ink Risotto only contained 3 small pieces of scallop and octopus, two small pieces of lobster, one mussel, one shrimp (as shown in the photo). Another dish was tasteless. Very disappoint!

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the display of the foods! However, foods are lacking in flavor. Service was great. I will give this place 4 out of 10. If you ask me, if I would come back? Prob. Not! Especially for this price.

TOO EXPENSIVE for mid level food. We were so hungry when we got there. The menu was super limited. Not a lot of options, and no clear starters or appetizers. We ended up ordering two cocktails, wings, and we both ordered the surf and turf. When the wings came, there were only 4 wings total(for $21 yikes!) the lobster was dry and overcooked, and the beef was very fatty. During our meal we saw another table had ordered a fireball desert, so we ordered it too after our meal. The server was very nice, however when she brought the fireball ice cream and poured the flaming liquor on it, I think it was wayyyy too much. When we started eating the ice cream and melted chocolate, it was sitting in a soup of liquor and it tasted like straight alcohol. It ruined the whole desert, it was all you could taste. After the whole experience we left very disappointed. And our wallets empty.

Amazing food and service. Very nice restaurant. Ambiance is beautiful. Staff are sharp and engaging. Our waiter, Tsutomu O. Made our evening most enjoyable. We will go back before leaving the island.

Loving the decorations and the open concept. Customer service is fantastic 5 stars for sure, unfortunately I forgot the 2 young lovely girls name who waited on us, the sea food was great, drinks are really good, my only complaint was the Tomahawk steak, a bit dry and not juicy, for $220 a steak I would have expected better quality. Other then that yes I would recommend this Restaurant.

We wanted a special dinner for 10 people to celebrate my daughter's wedding earlier that day. Everyone seemed pleased and the overall service was very good. With a mixed group of tastes it seems that all had some amount of food. Drinks were good and while the quantity of food was definitely light the taste and quality was acceptable. If you plan on dinner here expect to have a pleasant light meal with a rather expensive price tag.

I ordered the Black Cod marinated in yuzu & soy with black rice pilaf in a carrot/ginger reduction. Hubby had the crab cake (plain) with fries (plain). Black cod is a favorite fish of mine. Cooked well and the yuzu/soy marinade complimented the fish really well. I was not a fan of the black rice pilaf w/carrot & ginger reduction. The taste oddly reminded me of cooked red cabbage. Crab cake: my hubby loves crab cakes. He enjoyed the crab cake from Herringbone because he was able to simply taste the crab meat without binders or fillers. The fries were cooked well & not greasy. The atmosphere was great and had live music.

Just an okay experience. Our server was very nice and helpful. The food though was nothing overly great and just ok and overpriced. Oysters were nice and fresh. Kids quesadillas were burnt and small for $16. I probably wouldn’t come back if I’m in the area.

I would recommend coming very early to your reservation if you are trying to find parking. The parking lot was full and my husband had to circle around for a while which made him 45 minutes late to our reservation. I felt very bad but our server and hostess were super nice and graceful about it. Our server was Tasha and she was super kind and helpful the whole night. It was BYOB. We had great service and the food was awesome. Would love to come back again and try other things on the menu.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to for seafood! They have everything from raw oysters, mussels, octopus, whole fish and also other proteins like chicken and steak. They definitely incorporate modern and local flavors in their dishes and the presentation is always fantastic which is great for sharing on social media! The decor of this restaurant is so pretty and whimsical with lots of live plans and twinkling lights. This is a great option for a romantic date night or a fun night out with family and friends! Herringbone is located on the 3rd floor of the International Marketplace and validates parking which is easily accessible from Kuhio ave.Ave. stalls are always available. It's fun to walk around and browse the boutiques in the shopping center too before or after dinner too!

I searched up “bar patio” and found this place. What clinched it was the seafood focus. We have been to other places in the International Marketplace 3rd floor in previous years visiting Oahu. We ordered 2 appetizers and shared a main. The sashimi-style appetizers did not disappoint. Our favorite was the hamachi crudo with the truffle and yuzu vinaigrette and small diced crunch (yum). I also loved the micro green usage (chiso , cilantro?) for the hamachi and lobster. Hats off to the mixologist for well-crafted cocktails. I personally steer away from creamy/fruity drinks so I was happy with the grapefruit/rosemary margarita and the blood orange (whisky) sour. I would come back again! Mahalo.

My mother & I were visiting Hawaii and came across this restaurant shopping. It's a beautiful atmosphere. There was live music, a trendy ambience, and great service. We had the perfect waiter, he came over to the table just enough w/out being intrusive whatsoever and was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The chef came over and spoke with us to ask if everything was good and were we enjoying the special salad he had created for us. That made Herringbone Waikiki all the more special that he took the time to make sure it was a good experience we were having. I always appreciate when the chef or owner comes to greet you. Whenever in Honolulu I definitely recommend stopping in, they did not disappoint.

Food was great but loved that they were able to make a deconstructed Eggs Benedict to accommodate family who could not eat the crab. Would like them to offer an imitation Eggs Benedict as an option to those with shellfish allergies.

A great upscale restaurant in Waikiki. The menu is Californian, Hawaiian seafood forward. The chicken wings and truffle mash potatoes were exceptional. The rest of our food was really good too. Service was good, they were staff challenged but our waiter really made a huge effort to make up for it. Would definitely go back

Amazing restaurant! Great classy interior and welcoming atmosphere. All food was just delicious. We’ve also tried cocktails and desert - highly recommend their ice cream. We made the reservation online, make sure to do so. Not sure about parking cos we walked from our hotel.

Food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. I felt for the waiters; there was only two on the floor servicing the whole place. You could see and hear the frustration from them. Even with that, they remained pleasant and gave us the best experience possible. My friend and I ordered the “Skiff” to share. It was amazing! The seafood was so fresh! I will definitely come back. Hopefully they can take care the issue of lack of servers so the experience can be better!

Nice location withgood marine theme decorations. Big outdoor dining area. Better make reservations, especially on weekends. Food was good but not excellent relative to price. Kitchen little slow but in these times is pretty normal.

We visited for happy hour and really enjoyed our time. We arrived around 3:30pm for happy hour and no one seemed to be there, so we left to try and find another option. Ended up walking the strip and coming back and really glad we did! The service was friendly and accommodating (we had a baby with us) and our food came out really fast. If you like seafood, this is the place for you. We had the Korean style chicken wings and crab cakes - so good! Forgot to take a picture beforehand, so here are the eaten wings lol The decor in the restaurant sets a really cool vibe.

Our family came here for our last dinner during our vacation and I have to say it was the best experience. The plating and the flavor of the foods we ordered was perfect. Especially the Seafood Pasta and Seared Duck Breast was the best I've ever had. The prices were not cheap, but it was worth it! The restaurant closed at 9:00 pm on a Sunday and we were late to our appointment. We had to stay well over 9 pm to finish our food, but not once we were rushed. Our server Jenner was the best server we ever met, and she definitely made our experience 10 times better. Thank you!

Interestingly this restaurant belongs to the “Benihana” family which is also the “Crazy electronic DJ who throws cakes at people” family! (Aoki restaurant group) It’s upscale but not tasteful somehow, like there’s an element of actual care and attention missing. The decor is beautiful and thoughtful but it’s not quite fully modern or even fully cohesive, it’s like a hodgepodge. The food was good but felt simple; the oysters were small and flavorless, and the pasta while plated well was very bland. Same story for the pizza/flatbread situation. Prices were sky high given the quality and yes that’s the “Waikiki tax” talking, but I still expected a bit more. Everything is edible and safe, but it’s not inventive. It can be loud without feeling warm and cozy, if that makes sense. Service and waitstaff were excellent though, no complaints there. They did great. But somehow this place has a reputation for amazing sustainable food and just offers none of the actual charm or quality you’d expect.

We went to herringbone to celebrate a birthday on a friday. Richard was our server, he was amazing from start to finish. Great service! We enjoyed everything, ask for recommendations as everything they said was super delicious. We will be back

Phenomenal experience. The food was tasty, the decor relaxing yet exciting, the staff super welcoming and attentive. Unexpected small slice of strawberry cake for a one-year anniversary. Found them from instagram. My brother was here apparently on a separate occasion and loved the restaurant. The food was fun and delicious. We had a papaya fruit boat and the king crab eggs Benedict. I noticed some smoked trout (?) eggs and uni on top. The hash brown seemed to be freshly made. It fell apart in your mouth with a soft yet crunchy crumble. Overall, it may seem a little pricey coming from the mainland, but prices seemed on par for something so great.

Herringbone is mainly a seafood restaurant focusing on unique blends of flavors. It is located at the International Market Place on the third level. It has a great vibe. The menu is a bit pricey but worth it. The food is delicious. The staff is accommodating and responsive. A great experience.

Great food and service! Came for a work brunch. flowing mimosas were flowing like a waterfall. Every time I’d be almost done with my glass I’d look over and it’d be full again. Definitely worth the price and the food is delicious! Love the no rush and kind and calm atmosphere.

Every time I come here for Brunch we have the best servers and great plates from the kitchen! Never a let down! If you are looking for bottomless mimosas and tasty shared plates you've found the right place!

Excellent meal, excellent service. Jessica was the best, from getting our kids' orders in early to making a list of recommendations around the island for us. Very knowledgeable about the dishes, and gave great suggestions for the meals, which were flavorful and beautifully presented. In the international marketplace area, would definitely recommend.
