A positive experience with the Side Street Inn staff and restaurant. From setting up the reservation for 17 - a mix of kids, adults and seniors. The restaurant did a great job accommodating our large group. Kudos to our server Kaila, she was attentive and advised to order ONE for 6-8 guests from Chef Colin's Classics pre fixe menu. It did not disappoint the 'classics' were more than enough for our group as we also ordered gizzards, ribeye and a chef special of wings. Great food was accompanied by live music/entertainment which complimented a great night. Will be visiting again.

You want Local Hawaii Food? This is the place to go!!! Funnily enough, I work right upstairs from the other side street inn location . I honestly just love this original locations vibe and food more. You have got to try their garlic chicken, Kim Chee fried rice and garlic fries. Their pork chop and their ribs are also really popular. Go with a big group , and share ! You'll have enough food for everyone to enjoy and take home:) I love this restaurants big portions and tasty food. It's a casual ambiance with good service and local cuisine.

Make sure you bring your appetite Truly enormous portions and best enjoyed with a group. The fried rice must be big enough to share with at least 4. The baby back ribs were perfectly cooked with a sweet sauce, they were delicious. Highly recommended. The service was friendly and the live music excellent.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Talk about bomb quality food cooking in huge portions. Don't take me lightly when I say huge portions. This is family style and they mean it. There's plenty of every dish to go around. The prices, once you see the portions, are very reasonable. Wether it's the garlic chicken, the works fried rice, any of the salads, the pork chops, the list just goes on, it's all amazingly delicious. The service is great too. They are Johnny on the spot from checking in on you to water refills. This place is roomy. Tons of seating. They follow strict COVID protocol requiring vax card for all guests and mask while not seated and eating/drinking. We love frequenting Side Street and get the same quality service at both of them.

The portions are huge!!! We tried to control what we ordered and still had a ton leftover! Parking is very limited and reservations are suggested. The garlic edamame was amazing as was the fried chicken. The pork chops were a bit overcooked, and the ribs were yummy but I've had better down in Charleston SC. It's a fun place to eat, especially with a large group and I would recommend it to people but I wouldn't run back when we are in town again.

Many people told me that it's a locals' favorite, but I don't know if the chef wasn't having it that night. Everything was so salty out just too much tastes. I felt like I needed a head of lettuce or plain rice to eat the dishes, even the fried rice. I cooked tons of nappa cabbage and scrambled eggs with the left over fried rice and it tasted lot better. Maybe I need to try it again to see if it was just that night.

Always has and always will be one of the best places to eat on Oahu. Legendary menu…pork chops, fried rice, kalbi and poke are a must. But you really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. Enjoy! 🤙🏼

Oooooh this place is it!!! So first off, have to commend the staff on friendliness and service. Making reservations was super easy via email as they were respondent and friendly. Even mentioned it was to celebrate my birthday, and they had the live singer sing to me!! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations. We ordered: sautéed mushrooms, garlic edamame, Kal bi chicken, the signature garlic chicken, and a side of white rice with furikake. The apps were delicious, mushrooms had a great sherry and parmesan umami flavor and were plentiful, and edamame were also a huge portion with TONS of garlic. In fact while I'm at it, all the portions were HUGE. Kal bi chicken was okay, nothing that blew me away. Signature fried chicken though was sooooo good. Perfectly fried and crispy and had tons of flavor. The only negative was that it was slightly overly salty with the fish sauce marinade, but the white rice certainly helped to offset. I have tons of items I want to try next time (like the noodz). This is definitely a great place to dine family style with others. The place can get pretty loud, especially with live music and during the dinner rush. There's cheap valet parking right outside, but also 2 garages right across the street. The upper one was $5 cash.

A friend made a reservation a week in advance. The lup cheong fried rice was delicious but the star was the fried chicken. The ribs were a little dry and was okay but definitely get that soy chicken, was worth it! Parking was hard to find.

Service was great! Our servers came regularly to check up on us and refill our drinks. They were also very polite and funny. The food came out quickly and in huge portions. Definitely bring your appetite and be ready to eat. Everything came out hot and fresh. In addition it tasted delicious too. I would definitely come back with a group again. There's a lot of seating.

We can’t rave enough about the food. We ordered the assorted food platter. An assortment of their most favorite foods. We were a total of 5 people and the food was MORE than enough. We actually took some food home. There was live music.

This was my first time at the original location, as I have only been to the newer one. They don't offer the same things though, so keep that in mind! This location does have live music which was a nice touch but I prefer the other one. The two kinds of poke at the other location were amazing while this one was limited to the flavor of the day. The service was a bit slow, but they were friendly and didn't rush us. I walked in and waited awhile for someone to come up to us to help us get seated, but we were ignored so I had to go up to someone. They proceeded to tell us they were full so they sat us at the bar. There were at least four empty tables the entire 1.5 hours we were there but it's not a big deal. I just didn't like that no one acknowledged us. The boneless kalbi was really good though and as always get the Mac salad and furikake rice!

Amazing, plentiful family feast for the 4 adults in my party. Everything came out fast but was fresh so it's safe to say that the restaurant is very efficient! The drinks were great as well with an ambience that was pushed to sweeter heights by the lady serenading the whole restaurant with her voice and choice of instruments. What a great experience! The chicken was so crispy and juicy and flavorful. The mountain of rice and fried pork chops were no slouch either. I didn't even try the edamame as I had eaten too much of the beef first! 😅

Definitely one of our goto places to have some, what I call, asian street food. Every time we dine in, we can literally feel the spirit of Colin and Anthony Bourdain. It’s as if they are dining with us and enjoying the legacy classics. Amazing fresh food and cool ambiance. Go during the weekdays as the weekends are jammed packed.

Location & parking makes it less desirable to give this place a chance. But don't drive past -- every meal we ordered was savory & delicious, desserts included. Racked up a 300+ bill for Father's Day but it was worth it! Managed to get some pics of what we ordered, the others didn't get a chance 😆 and service is excellent! Just one less star due to limited parking but the place is 5 STARS for sure. Worth it!

Local spot to treat yourself or the ohana in town or out of town. Live music, the best sizzling kalbi! Our order came out less done than we wanted and they happily replaced it with a new order. The family meal is your best bet for your money and mouth. Huge salad, assorted fried rice option, sizzling kalbi, porkchop, garlic fried chicken and more… Not so much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, But 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Make a reservation. Valet was worth it for me.

The best pork chops I've ever had: thick cut and juicy, with delicious flavor. Great fresh salad too, perfectly dressed with hidden gems like shrimp and chicken throughout.

Large portions at Side Street Grill, very tasty and tender kalbi beef ribs (bone in) - I would order again. We also ordered the special fried rice and garlic fried chicken, hot sauce on the side.

Parking is very limited. Park somewhere else and walk here. Everything is ala carte. Bring a lot of people with good appetite. Do it family style so everyone can share. Service was very good.

The restaurant has gone through a complete modern remodeling. A new open look which helps to ease transmission concerns. The food is delicious as always. Live music and impromptu Hula greatly livened the atmosphere.

Not the same old hole in the wall place. Rib Eye Steak is no longer on the menu. Farmer's salad was dry with less toppings. We ordered Kalbi which was $30++. The meat was dry and not tender (disappointing esp for the price). This used to be our favorite spot to eat. Even though we hated that stinky old carpet they used to have but food was really good. Gone is the carpet after the renovation. New tables, new chairs. We were very excited to come here again but sadly, food is not as good as before..

I enjoyed this restaurant when I come back to Honolulu I will definitely visit this restaurant again!

My Uncle Bobby offered to treat us to cocktails & pupus, more like a feast for 2 days!! We had a 2 hour reservations, sad part we were just getting started after drinks & a round of McCallans, we had a pretty sizable tab! But, we were kicked out! Our reservations were at 4pm, had to leave by 6pm! What a bummer! The food was excellent except for the fried opakapaka, $42??? My brother Ted & sister, Ari, fish connoisseurs says it kind of smelled, "fishy " and was not fresh!😰 Returned it immediately, so we were not charged! Otherwise it was a fun filled event, later went next door..Club Mystique for more drinks!!

This place is really good for large groups since the serving sizes are pretty big. We had a group of 10 and ordered the "prefixe" menu thing and a few other dishes. I loved the bulgogi thing and the fried chicken, and the poke was a favorite at the table too. I wish we had ordered the pork skin poke but it had sold out when we asked for it... This isn't like a fancy restaurant, but it's a solid dinner choice and you should def grab reservations ahead of time. ========== I came back here a year later and it was still delicious. Attaching more photos.
