This is a fun diner with great options for all types of eaters: vegan, vegetarian, or omnivores. I tried the mozzerella sticks, vegan buffalo wings, and the sweet and sour vegan 'ribs'. I would say that wings were excellent but the 'ribs' did not have much of a sweet and sour flavor. Also this location is pretty small and sound carries really loudly - which meant it was very loud in the diner.

We’re back a year later and this place is still amazing. We discovered this place after we were turned away from Little Village Noodle. Thrice in two years now. However! This diner is a vegan’s delight! I’m not vegetarian or vegan but my partner is vegetarian. At this diner I never worry about the menu here. Truly this is best Honolulu can offer. Cheers!

I’m sorry, but no. This is not even edible. Extremely greasy. I doubt the owner or manager has ever tried it, otherwise they would never serve it. Ordered an omelette with Just Egg, received something with tofu and all the other ingredients on the side separate - this is not an omelette. And you can see how greasy it is. Also ordered the BLAT, there was no bacon in it. They forgot the potato tots and toast for the omelette. Waited over an hour for this order. So many things are wrong with this place, so leaving this review hoping that it’s constructive and they change something.

So I ordered the vegan wings and one of the vegan wings was actually a piece of real sausage. They gave me two orders of vegan wings in return, which is very generous, but then I see a roach crawl across the table at which point I got the check and left.

I've been here three times and have been disappointed three times. The only appetizing items were fried. Ordered the breakfast plate and got such a bland assortment of ingredients ($18). Loco Moco was sad ($21) Black bean burger was salty and almost inedible. I have never left a negative review, but this is something that others need to see. Something needs to be addressed.

I'm a big fan of nostalgia so I really liked this place. My friend who has lived here 60 years enjoyed reminiscing as she worked nearby as a young lady. This place was very interesting. I was looking for a diner like experience with other food options besides the normal drowning in Asian options. I had the burger breakfast brunch, which came with the burger, cheese, eggs, hash browns. I chose not to get the bread. My friend had biscuits and gravy.. that was pretty good as well. Eggs Benedict - that's what I REALLY wanted but they had no hollandaise during my visit. There is a bar there so I had a bloody Mary... They have Taco Tuesdays as well.

We decided to go to The Other Side after a couple of bars. The atmosphere was good. Food was ok. The kitchen was overwhelmed by party goers ordering after drinking. No other real choice of food around 1am in Chinatown. Would I come again hell yeah!

The food here is good and the service is ok. There was only one staff member working the bar and the tables, so service was a bit slow. The establishment could use a bit of decorating and cleaning. They play good music. I will return soon in hopes to upgrade my review to a four star. I'm excited to try some of the other items on the menu.

Besides the fact that they were out of a few items at the start of the day, it was really good food. The breakfast burrito was really good and very flavorful! The egg omelette was packed with meat (spam, bacon, ham). All great choices. Definitely give it a chance when it comes to happy hour.

Specifically went here for vegan options. Aside from the turtles pace of service and every aspect of our order being inaccurate, I was served REAL bacon on my vegan BLAT. I was skeptical at first but my non-vegan friend tried it and said “no this definitely isn’t real”, so I ate half the sandwich. A few hours later I went to eat the other half and it tasted funny so I threw it out. I started to feel sick so I grabbed the sandwich from the trash and was shocked to see, without a doubt, real bacon. I haven’t eaten meat in 5 years and I got SO sick after eating from here. To pride your restaurant on vegan options and serve animal products to people who specifically ask without is a huge health concern. Shame on you TOS.

My main go-to for late night vegan food, milkshakes, and cocktails. My only wish would be for more vegan options and a new cocktail menu (I miss it a lot) otherwise everything about the spot is great. We don’t know what we would do without them! They recently redid the interior and it looks great.

What a find! A hip little diner serving vegan food, with a smile - perfection! We had the vegan Buffalo wings with ranch, vegan chicken and waffle, and tofu pesto scramble with pancakes. Oh, and don't forget the chocolate and peanut butter milkshakes. The options are endless and the food is great. I think we may have found our new favorite in Honolulu.

Bar atmosphere with plenty of vegan options. There were several unique cocktails which I didn't try but would in the future. We got the vegan wings with BBQ (great), pesto chicken salad with vegan chicken (great), vegan chicken nuggets with fries for the kids (good), side of tater tots (great), and vegan BLAT (great). My kids enjoyed everything, especially the vegan ranch. I'll be back if I'm near Waikiki

The service was good but we waited 40 minutes for two sandwiches and the bread was burned. We also asked for fries and they charged us 10$ for a small basket. A side of fries would be 3.50$ per person and we were two people. That’s incomprehensible.

We came here for a late breakfast. Honestly the best breakfast we had during our stay in Honolulu. Reasonable price with nice portions. Very eclectic atmosphere. More of a locals establishment I believe.

The Other Side was a hidden gem during my trip to Oahu! My friends and I couldn’t resist going in after the sign, but we stayed for hours because of the people. The bartender, Xander, and the owner are very cool people and made the atmosphere enjoyable.

I was hoping for more decor, or something, to flesh out the "conspiracy theory" theme. That said, the food was awesome (I had the vegan nuggets and fries, my companions had Loco Moco and some big egg breakfast thing. Both meat and meat-substitute offerings were delicious, perfect temperature, and served quickly. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I'm going ahead and giving 5 stars because I know my expectations for kitsch ambience are unrealistically high, and the lack of actual aliens, or whatever I expected, isn't cause to ding an otherwise perfect experience.

Came here for Mother’s Day brunch. Got a few plates, all of it good; the pork loin, however, was top five best dishes I’ve had on the island.

This is the best place for vegans and non vegans to eat together. They have an extensive menus and delicious food! Our server made some excellent recommendations and gave us a few good tips about the area. It is also nice to get out of Waikiki and see another side to Honolulu. China town has a lot of unique buildings and there are some hidden gems all around the area.

The vibes here are immaculate, and the food is beyond good. Totally was not expecting it to be so tasty! It's seat yourself, so that's rad, and the french toast is easily the best thing on the menu. I always end up ordering two plates bc my son will steal mine! Also, there's vegan ice-cream, which is awesome because my son can't have dairy. It was very nice to actually go somewhere that had so many vegan and vegetarian substitutions. The only thing on the menu that can't be made veggie friendly is the tuna melt.

Janine is the best bartender I've had in a while! All I said was "something sweet" and BOOM! Something sweet was given! The food is great too! Chicken tenders with in house made honey mustard was bomb!

We have gone to other side diner multiple times hoping each time that the service will get better. The food is usually fantastic. The “infinite” soda/tea is NOT infinite proof is in the receipt where we were charged for refills. Refills that we had to ask for and that took 20 min to get. The French toast was burnt. I understand the staffing shortage on Oahu right now but the restaurant was not busy. We have been there when it was much busier and had slightly better service. The food didn’t redeem the service this time.

Man, this place just felt like home. The bartenders are quirky and amazing at their job. Very entertaining. They let you watch whatever you want on tv. The food is fast and served very hot. I love the Philly steak that they have. Highly recommended!!!

Our food did take a while, but considering how good it was, it was very much worth the wait! I had a Doc Holiday burger which was delicious!

This is the second time coming with my family. It's soooo good. They have an amazing vegan selection and yet are still accommodating to a more standard American diet! I definitely recommend going. Yes, currently you will be required to show proof of vaccination but that took 5 seconds. So no biggie. My 11 year old would recommend a chicken and cheese quesadilla with fries. The vegan shakes are also delicious. And personally I really like their vegan BLAT bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomatoe. And also their garlic curly fries. I say give it a go, and enjoy 😉
