It used to be great, now management has made it worse. In the past, the wait staff was there to serve until 11pm, now they have split the two bars into self serve and wait staff, and the self serve is open late, but the waited staff part closes at 8pm. I was there until 9pm the other day and at that late hour, there were many people still sitting there, obviously wanting to stay longer, the wait staff was all required to leave. How about keeping both side open the same hours so people can decide if they want to do self serve or have a server. Apparently the new management team is full of people with new, great ideas that make no sense and are harming the business at the bar. Here is a photo taken at 9pm after the wait staff was sent home at 8pm, with at least 20 people still sitting there hoping there were still some wait staff to serve them drinks.

Mahalo iā 'oe !! A pretty dope beachfront bar serving low key and no fuss fun cocktails. Self serve makes it real easy ordering with plentiful beachfront seating and live entertainment whilst you sip your cocktail and rub your feet in the sand. We got a Mango Flow and Lava Flow, not too bad albeit a bit too sweet but pretty yummynand gives you that true vacation vibes. Support local businesses!

We have been here previously. They make good tropical drinks and have a good military discount. The times we went this time, they were quite busy so the service was so-so, but the atmosphere is really nice and has a great beach view from the tables. If you have a military ID this is the best place to get yummy drinks for less than you can get them elsewhere! Let it be known there is no food served here and you must go around the corner to the Hale Koa’s quick service location. We stumbled upon this bar while in the area as we were looking for a place to get some work done with a beach view. We sat at the bar, as that is where the outlets are. The bartenders were very nice and knowledgeable. They were friendly, prompt, and attentive. They provided great service and directed us to the happy snack bar around the corner for food, as this bar only serves drinks. They have a variety on their menu, but they are happy to customize, as one of the lemonades had gin in it, but we were able to ask for it with vodka instead. They also have mango lava flows in addition to the strawberry. I even asked for a gummy bear shot and they were able to make it on the fly for me. They don’t have a huge wide variety of liquor, but they have enough to get the job done. They also have military pricing for drinks which makes the drinks some of the best deals you can get on the island. Due to the pricing of the drinks, variety on the menu, friendliness of the bartenders, and proximity to the beach, we will definitely be back whenever our next visit is.

This has to be one of the best bars in Waikiki. The lights are amazing and the drinks are stiff. Can’t imagine a better bar. Especially for military. The military rate drinks and the atmosphere is the best I’ve found in Waikiki. I will definitely be back. Also the latest open bar in Waikiki. Customer service is top notch too.

They are rebuilding it so there is a temporary bar set up. Not quite as nice of a beach view but still a nice place to relax

Only came here cause my DoD guests insisted...now I remember why. Three phones at our table were unable to read the QRC for the menu. Instead of offer to bring printed menu, we just get berated for "phones not working". F__ this place! Shortly thereafter waitress attitude isnone of us bother her to take a simple beer order. So many other Waikiki options that offer better customer service that I won't be recommending this place to friends.

They remodeled the entire space. This used to be a bar just steps from the beach where you could enjoy the views while belly’d up. Now it’s just a big patio. Sad.

Incredible Mai Tai! Definitely recommend for an afternoon break from the beach when you're craving a cocktail. If you want food, there's a little snack shop next door where you can buy food and bring it over.

Haven’t been here in years and was glad the Mai Tai’s haven’t changed. Still very tasty and not weak. I went to Duke’s yesterday and payed $16 for theirs. Hale Koa is $10 for military, $12.50 for civilians. Probably a couple of ounces less then Duke’s but a good deal none the less. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was very quiet and relaxing. Not a lot of people there, and away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Waikiki. When I left, I walked into Hilton Hawaiian Village, and the sheer amount of people was a little overwhelming.

It's a really chill bar and the prices are great, especially for guests of the hotel and members of the military. If you want a Mai Tai in a chill place, look no further. You can't beat it.

Great place to sit and watch the sunset. The bar is split into 2 where one has food and one doesn’t (they are on opposite sides of the path, you want to go left for the no food one). Drinks are good, you can get waited on or walk up yourself and order. Mango flows and lava flows are definitely a must. It’s a chill bar by the beach to watch the sunset.

This is on property at the Hale Koa military hotel and absolutely loved it! There’s a discount for active duty and veterans. It was a seat yourself Hawaii paced place. The day we were there saw a wait for drinks but they always served us right away. Maybe because we arrived early so they knew we were military. Try the lava or mango flow!

Right on the beach and credit card only accepted for payment. Post covid ok however it is a good spot for the sunset.

Great spot but some shortcomings: Did not have a place to dance along with the music as the old location. Also, not food service? If these were corrected, I would rate the full 5 stars. Must note that the location is much better with the shady trees and larger capacity.

Enjoy some local favorite beverages and live music after a long day at the beach. Another spot offering discounts to our Arms Forces and Veteran fans. Wait times are minimal and the service is great and friendly!

The hotel stay was good for the most part. Price was great. We were able to stay with our friends who are military. They gave us rooms side by side. The restaurant and bars were great too. The main downside was the pools all close at 5pm each day. Other hotels in the area stay open later. (At least until sunset). The elevators were very slow. They were working on them and they did give us notice ahead of time that 1 elevator would be down each day and things may be slow.

Did not go to the bar, but relaxed on the beach all day! I was fortunate enough to get two chairs and an umbrella, get there early, and the folks I encountered were really sweet and patient in all of that heat. They even had lockers for my stuff. Yes to this area, no drinking though just hard core chillin.

The bar was SO much better before they changed it. The music was better and lasted later than 10pm. There was dancing and a party atmosphere. Now it's boring. The bar itself was so much more fun when we could all sit around the bar. Now there is very limited seating at the bar.

A great bar with great food. The view is amazing and the bar is directly at the beach. The food was delicious and the drinks good.

Awesome facility for military. Great outside bar and entertainment. I had their Mia-Tai and Pina Colada because I was there on the beach.

This bar goes without saying, it is a proudly one of the best bars in Waikiki. There is no better place to watch the sunset with a Mai Thai in hand. The wait for a drink can get a bit long, but just be patient! 10/10 recommend

Outdoor bar of the Hale Koa Military hotel. Located right smack on the beach in Waikiki. They offer a $2 discount for anyone with a military ID. Tasty Piña Coladas.

Great little bar by the beach. It fills up quickly in the evenings though so keep that in mind.

I enjoyed a Pulled Pork Sandwich , French Fries and a couple of Mai Tais while awaiting sunset. The fries were fresh and hot. The Pork sandwich was only warm but very tasty.

😐 We checked in here for a late lunch and it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was better than it looked like and the beer was alright as well. The place was almost empty and there were a lot of pigeons. I gave only 3 stars for the service because you order online and there's little interaction...
