Apparently they are “remodeling.” Would have been nice to know. The state that it’s in right now, they won’t be reopening for a long time. I saw a guy there today just looking at his phone, doing NOTHING. Annette would be ashamed to see what they’ve done to her beloved place.

This place has roots deep in the past especially in Honolulu’s history and has been instrumental in defining Tiki culture. It was closed for a looong time during Covid and I was worried it might not open again. Today when I landed at the airport (8 mins away) I was delighted to see OPEN on google maps. The taxi demurred of course, as it is a short fare, but I insisted and so happy I did. Incredibly, the place has been spruced up but all the charm and character remains. The Mai Tai is as good as ever.

This place was way cool it's the only tiki bar on the island, so we had to try it, a friend of ours told us about it so we had to try it out! Great place for a sunset!

On this visit for lunch the food was good service was just okay. They're clearly understaffed with a super abbreviated menu, but it looks like they're trying to make a go of it and recover from the pandemic. I will go back again in the future and hope they can improve on their menu selection and better staff their restaurant.

Nice to see them back open. Limited menu for now. Hope they're fully back on their feet soon. I should have taken a pic but from memory they have a burger, tuna sandwich, a club, fish and chips and their normal drink menu.

Great food, great service. We had the (double) burger, which was juicy and tasty, and the ribs, with their sweet and juicy taste. The Mai Tais were great, according to my wife, our little one enjoyed the linguine from the kids menu. Overall a pleasant stay, except for one bit of criticism: when asking for dessert, we were told they had some ice cream pie only. The table next to us, regular visitors, obviously, were offered with a variety of dessert just a couple of minutes later. Would still recommend, we liked the coziness of the restaurant.

I feel like this place has changed ALOT since the pandemic. And sadly not for the better. The menu use to be much larger and more bang for your buck in regards to yummy food. Now the menu is much smaller and the food is nothing to write home about. $20 for garlic shrimp, plain rice and simple salad. The servers are all lovely and kind though. Too bad-this use to be the go to spot anytime I flew in.

A hidden gem that you must go to! The inside is a great compliment to being right on a marina. Great food and the servers were such a delight!

Very disappointed as La Mariana used to be one of my favorite places. The food was just passable...the fish was frozen and the bread stale. Prices are considerably higher too.

The OG spot for tiki drinks. Totally hidden away, but amazing. Don't skip the gift shop - they've got one-of-a-kind tiki mugs by one of the premier artists in the world.

Our first time back since Covid and the remodel. Gorgeous! Our band Intoxika played here on Monday nights from 2018 till March 2020. Now...there is no where to put a band. 😭 The remodel took care of that. Surprised that more attention was not paid to the restrooms...but serviceable. We still have fans ask when Intoxika will return to LaMariana..... We wish Judith and crew well in their business recovery. 🥰

We ate lunch here today. Last time we were here was Sept 2022 and we weren’t thrilled with the ahi on our salad. However, we asked about it today and the bartender helped us figure out that we needed to order the Cajun seared ahi for the salad. We did, and it was spectacular. Just like before the pandemic. So fresh and tender and perfectly spiced. The salad was fresh, too. Then we shared a shrimp cocktail which was also great. 8 good-sized shrimp that were very fresh-tasting (I don’t know if they had been frozen, but they tasted great). The drinks, service and atmosphere were excellent. You can’t beat La Mariana for authentic tiki bar atmosphere! We left as very happy campers.

The cutest tiki bar. We went right when it opened at eleven am to get some breakfast drinks aka lava flows. Absolutely delicious with a great vibe, open, breezy with slight views of the water from the marina. Can’t beat the prices.

This is a local place, filled with the decor that outsiders might assume is everywhere in Hawaii. Most of it tongue-in-cheek. The food was great. I had kahlua pork sliders...delicious. This place is off the beaten path and tucks itself into a marina. The ONLY reason for 4-stars is that it has no air conditioning and on a hot, humid day, the giant fans they position all over the place do not provide much relief for those not in their blast radius. Ha!

Amazing tiki restaurant! The restaurant itself is amazing!! Their menu is super small after the reopen- think burgers, club sandwich, fish & chips and a few apps. The food was ok. The drinks were good and on the cheap side - $11 for cocktails!

We decided to try La Mariana's tonight and was somewhat put off by lack of parking and the line waiting to be seated. But all of this was quickly forgotten when the food was served. I'm talking really good food in a throwback atmosphere which all comes together to make a memorable evening. Look

Fun little bar near the airport. We had a long layover and decided to have some dinner and drinks here. They were out of tuna so most other options were fried. We had the nachos and shrimp cocktail. Drinks were great! Mai tai with 151 on top!

La Mariana deserves better reviews. The atmosphere is natural a 10 and service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice. As far as food, you just need to have expectations set. This is not a gastropub, some cutting edge kitchen, or a high end restaurant. That said the food was excellent 👌 We had the ono fish and chips, fish tacos, and shrimp cocktail. Everything tasted good, better than we expected. Last, and most importantly, the drinks! Amazingly good, strong and underpriced. I'm honestly surprised the bar isn't packed. I can only assume it's because of the off the beaten path location. This place deserves to be on all itineraries for visitors and revisited for locals who may have forgotten about it.

This is a wonderful hidden gem. The staff are attentive and friendly. The menu is simple but delicious. You cannot beat the ambience of this place and I look forward to coming back.

We were looking for an authentic tiki bar experience and found it. We started with a couple of my ties and the ahi poke was delicious. The fish and chips was okay. Our server Chelsea could not have been more pleasant. Great place to watch sports as they had a number of televisions featuring sports ball.

I have been here many times and it's always a good time. Unfortunately, I ordered a Margarita, and it was easily the worst one I have ever had, it tasted like lemon cordial, bummer. The nachos were also very average, covered in black olives, which was weird and unpleasant. Overall, it was an disappointing. experience.

A classic Honolulu eatery that opened in 1957. Off the beaten path & worth it. Exemplary service & decent seafood & steak. Strong drinks so be careful. Great live music too. A must Everytime I visit.

Not what we expected. My wife was expecting to see the layout as per the American TV show Magnum PI but it was not the same. The food was OK & the staff served us well.

Beautiful! Just reopened 6 weeks ago, newly renovated. Annette would be proud!

Not what it used to be, sadly. We came mid-rush of lunch hour, and the restaurant was woefully understaffed-one bartender, one hostess/server, and another server. Took a while to get a table because the inly two front-of-house staff were too overworked to greet and seat customers. Likewise, once seated it took a while to take and deliver our order from the very limited menu. What once was one of our favorite Honolulu jangouts is now on the "don't return" list. The fun decor and senic views are still unchanged.

Wow, great location AND food. I think the old Magnum PI used to film some scenes here.

If you like an old school tiki bar (no AC and lazy fans) with great service and drinks...well here it is. Staff was awesome! The setting takes you back to movies of yesteryears.
