The atmosphere was great and the customer service was great. Sadly, the food fell below expectation. The food LOOKED amazing, however the taste was not there. The steak was very chewy, the wings had a great coating on the outside but the skin tasted like the 🐔 was boiled. This is even more disappointing given the high prices.

Make a reservation! We didn't bother because their open table link was showing available bar seating all night, then when we get there, they say it's completely full after 5. Luckily, they had 1 open table for an hour, so we had time to eat. It definitely lived up to all the hype, and then some. Small menu, but for good reasons. They take a lot of care locally sourcing everything, and the cooking and presentation are impeccable. Service was on another level, too. Kevin had great suggestions and checked in often to make sure we were alright and everything was to our liking. Will definitely be back, with a reservation, and highly recommended.

Our food was so very good. We also got the cheese tray not pictured here. My ranch Korean with rice and beef was over the top delicious! The only thing bad was my husband's veal weinershnitzetl was a tad overcooked but the flavor was still good. Recommend making a reservation otherwise good luck. Will definitely be going back

I went to Fete with 2 friends, and we got 3 cocktails, an appetizer to share, 3 entrees, and 3 desserts. We decided to get dessert only because everything else that we had ordered before was really delicious and exceeded all our expectations. The restaurant is located at the intersection of 2 streets, but it doesn't have a very visible logo. We were looking for the full restaurant name outside the restaurant but their logo is a big letter F, so even when we got there, we had to double-check to make sure we were at the right place. They have indoor, outdoor, and bar seating area. For drinks, we got spicy kitty, sushi Collins, and Kult following. All three drinks were really good. The spicy kitty was visually appealing and had a kick to it. Kult following was the strongest drink of the three, but it was also the sweetest. Sushi Collins was a citrusy and overall well-balanced drink. After the drinks, we ordered steak tartare as the appetizer for the table. The steak was finely minced. It was fresh and flavorful with a rich and creamy texture. For our entree, my 2 friends ordered their daily special - 3 oz. seared ahi tuna, and I ordered Korean Bavette. They both were delicious, but there was a day and night difference between the portion sizes. The portion size of the ahi tuna was really small and definitely not filling. Korean bavette, on the other hand, was filling with big portions. Korean bavette was hands down the best dish. It was very flavorful (on the sweeter end). Meat was juicy and tender. The side salad was also fresh. For the dessert, my friends got vanilla ice cream and rocky road ice cream, and I got the bombolini. Of the three, the rocky road was my favorite, followed by vanilla ice cream and then bombolini. Bombolini didn't have enough chocolate sauce, and the doughnut itself wasn't as flavorful. The two ice creams, on the other hand, were super rich in flavors, had a very smooth texture, and the perfect amount of sweetness. The indoor dining area had the tropical island vibe with rattan chairs and plants filling the space. Our server was very attentive and sweet. Overall, it was a great experience. I will be back.

Seriously phenomenal! I had the spicy kitty dri k and it does not disappoint, especially is you don't like super sweet. Had a few apps and they were goos as well. Yhe main courses were amazing. Forgot the names but really everything here from the service to the food is hands down worth trying. If I could give this place more stars I would!!!

With our second visit under our belts, I felt it was appropriate to leave the perfect review. Each time the staff, food, and atmosphere was absolutely superb. We have gone there for many special occasions, and they always do such an amazing job to make our night something to remember. We cannot wait for our third visit!

Chef Robynne and Chef Emily never fail to impress with their ever changing menu and specials. I will ALWAYS recommend the carrots when they’re available. They are to die for! 🤤 there is nothing that comes out of this kitchen that isn’t mouthwatering. We’ve even had the honor to meet the chef a couple of times. The atmospheres is chic and cozy with a modern twist. A good place to grab drinks or a three course meal. And we clean our plates every time. Ps try the spicy kitty. You won’t regret it.

A splendid spot for dinner or any other meals they serve. Service was prompt and delightful, we actually sat next to the kitchen and had a great time. I imagine that’s not everyone’s cup of tea but the place isn’t huge. It’s lively but not too much so; and feels like Brooklyn somehow. I think they’re going for this vibe. Lots of brick involved. The food is delicious and affordably priced considering how thoughtful the preparations are. Having watched the chefs make literally dozens of dishes I can tell you they take it very seriously and never stopped working hard for the 2 hours we sat there watching. It’s amazing how they turned relatively simple preparations into very tasty combinations. Rich sauces, well prepared meats, and delightful seafood were highlights of the Fete experience. Their prawns were legendary. These perhaps are the worst value per plate, but a little seasoned rice as a side brings the dish to completion. I would change this by including the rice or other sides and fleshing out the dish. Otherwise I think you could maybe get away with many of the entrees as large tapas type deals? It’s a mix. Anyways that’s why it’s a good value and you won’t overeat, but don’t expect heaping portions. This is about good high quality sustainable food and they totally deliver on that.

Went for date night, got there early around 5, street parking and also parking lots within 2 blocks. Wait staff was excellent, got seated right away. Within an hour the place filled up pretty quick. We placed our drink order, wife had the spicy kitty, (cute little backless cup) fantastic, I had the Kunia old fashioned another great drink. Then we ordered the special deviled eggs, it was pretty awesome eggs on eggs. After our appetizer we order the specials Mahi-mahi and veal, nether were on the menu which changes frequently but these were both amazing. Once we finished dinner we decided to get some filling desert. We had the Olive oil cake with vanilla ice cream (housemade) recommended by a patron next to us, definitely worth it and will be back just for coffee and olive cake, we also ordered the special the banana tiramisu, this was a little different and seamed that the consistency was too thick heavy and dense.

Wow, what a fantastic dining experience. Such lovely & genuinely friendly staff and attentive throughout the night. And the attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Lovely ambience and vibe. The menu including the drinks is “modern / new American” and this is executed perfectly. All the food was fresh and made completely from scratch, and ingredients are sourced locally with a Farm-to-Table provenance. There’s some great craft cocktails too made by the talented barman. They also do a nonalcoholic “soda of the Day” which was raspberry & lemonade- so beautifully crafted that you don’t miss the alcohol! The Gouda & banana jam, and the Beet salad were both sensational and beautifully constructed & presented. The chicken special, and the Bavette beef were so delicious with complex layers of flavour working together harmoniously. And the Rocky Road Ice Cream- OMG. So good! Excellent dinner spot - highly recommended.

Great dinner option when visiting Oahu. Had the Korean hangar steak and twice dried chicken and both are executed well with quality ingredients you can taste. Also had the chumley and philanderer drinks, and both are tasty, on the slightly sweeter side. Highly recommended for those getting a bit tired of the more traditional Hawaiian fare.

It all started with a text from a friend asking if I ever ate at Fête (pronounced "fate"). I replied "No" and she replied back "The chef/owner (Robynne Maii) just won a James Beard award". I had a daytrip to Oahu coming up with dinner plans at Piggy Smalls but wasn't keen on their limited menu so I ended up canceling them to try Fête. Congrats to her as she's the first female in Hawaii to win AND the award hasn't been won by a Hawaii chef since 2003! ATMOSPHERE: Due to last minute reservations (a must, BTW), we had to sit at the bar which ended up being very entertaining as we had front row seats to watch cocktails being made. It's a small, cozy space with flexible seating for no more than one large group. A small room to the side where the open-view kitchen is offers a few tables but the fluorescent lighting coming from the kitchen clashed with the otherwise warm ambiance. MENU: Mix of American, Asian and Italian dishes with a farm-to-table concept. BEVERAGE: Spicy Kitty - $13.00 Perfectly balanced sweet & tart vodka-based mixture came in a ceramic cat mug with one of its ears covered in salty-spicy togarashi. I took it as a play on a margarita and licked the ear prior to taking a sips. FOOD: Fête Spreads - $10.00 Delicious and a great bang-for-your-buck app! Nicely toasted and chewy sourdough bread slices were ready for three different spreads - ricotta cheese drizzled with honey, mac nut tapenade (my fave) and caponata (a thick medley of seasoned and spreadable veggies). The bread was a bit burnt but I liked their crunch and charred flavor. Basil Caesar - $15.00 The subtle basil flavor was a surprisingly welcomed addition to the otherwise mainstream Caesar salad but for me the crispy shallots (think French-fried onions) set it over the top. Korean Bavette - $27.00 This cut of flank steak is supposed to be tender especially since we opted for medium rare but it was anything but. While flavorful, we couldn't eat about 60% of it as we spit out loads of tough, gristly meat. Such a waste! On the up side, the fried rice was tasty with a nice crunch to it, similar to being cooked in a clay pot. Kampachi - $42.00 (special) A tad pricey for the portion but I guess fish are prone to inflation too! The filet was warm, perfectly seasoned and seared with medium firmness. A creamy-savory orange sauce pooled the plate and complimented the fish nicely. Accompanying sides were moist sweet potato mash flanked with crisp plantain chips and sautéed veggies. DESSERT: Olive Oil Cake & Vanilla Ice Cream I don't have a sweet tooth but took a bite of the warm and moist yellow cake just to try it. It was good but a bit too sweet for me. The vanilla bean ice cream was mainstream. Their rocky road ice cream was sold out so it must be homemade and good! RESERVATIONS: I booked via Open Table a day ahead and got bar seating reservations for 5:30pm on a Saturday as no other times or seating options were available. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and professional. Harry, the bartender, took great care of us as we sat at the bar for dinner. Server Josh also was terrific and recognized my spouse as they used to work together on Maui. OVERALL: A perfect end to my daytrip to Oahu. Everything was excellent sans for that bavette steak.

I found Fete to be a delightful restaurant where the drinks were tasty and the food was fresh and flavorful. The price for a burger (without a side) was a bit pricey. But the ambience, service and taste offset that sticker shock. I had the chicken sandwich also as I wanted to taste a few items on the menu. The sides are large enough to share and are packed with flavor. The chicken sandwich itself was perfectly season and had a delicious sauce on it. Located adjacent to China town you can also go for a walk. Parking can be a challenge and most of it is paid parking.

Some of the best food we had on our trip was here. The cocktail menu was both creative and delicious, and food was well-portioned and each item we ordered was made with care. I have a dietary restriction and the server was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable in helping me navigate the menu and communicated adjustments where needed. Highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere. Tables are a tad small but we managed just fine. Very good food. We are vegetarian (almost vegan) and not very many options but the ones they had were delicious. I think if there were more options, we would likely visit more often. Looking at other people’s meals being delivered, portions seem quite big. We did need more bread for our appetizer spreads and was charged an extra $3 without being warned. Other than that, service was wonderful.

We had the a very great dinner experience at fete. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the chicken liver pate and my husband's favorite was the Korean bavette. Only "complaint" is that the tables are very small and extremely close to one another so it's hard to have a private conversation. But food and service were amazing!

The food is absolutely fire! 🌶️🔥🔥🔥 The daily specials are creative and tasty. We got the liver mousse with the sourdough and pickled okra. The sourdough had a great herbal taste to it, topped with fresh thyme, the crust is crispy! The pickled okra is the best okra I've had, the tangy and slightly slippery texture of okra complimented the rich liver mousse beautifully. The crusted Opakapaka is creative and brings out the best flavors of the fish. The atmosphere was also amazing, our server Bianca went above and beyond. Her passion for food brings out the best of everyone around her. Will definitely visit again!

We had an amazing lunch! The drinks and food were great. The crispy chicken with the Caesar salad was so delicious!! Our server Bianca was super helpful and knowledgeable with her recommendations. I would absolutely plan to go back whenever in the area!

Really cool, almost French bistro looking/feel bistro in the heart of Honolulu. Service was harried, but the food more than made up for it. Highly recommended. Priced right, decent portions. Good burgers and something on the menu for everyone

A great cozy place to have a nice casual divert with some friends. The standout appetizer would be the special chicken liver mousse. The steak tartare and Basil Caesar salad were also good. The Korean Bavette was cooked perfectly as well as the twice-fried chicken. The JP's Risotto had a lot of flavor and great texture. We ended the meal with the Lilikoi cheese flan. Overall, everything was great.

This is my go to spot when I’m on the Chinatown area. Great tasting “Quality” food, zee best service, paired with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Details and quality is what I pay attention too, the tables, chairs, silver and dish ware are from France. The steak knives are handcrafted by an artisan in France, who makes every knife by hand. Enjoy often, quality locally produced is a huge reason why I always eat here. It does get busy so reservations are recommended

Overall - This space deserves the 5 stars! Great food, exceptional service, delightful atmosphere and yummy cocktails Food - The Korean Chicken sandwich was my favorite. Although the sauce did make the bottom bun a little soggy, it was well worth the mess! The Carbonara was warming and the prawns we a tad spicy but still delicious. Drinks - They don’t have regular soda products and make everything in house so it’s a true craft cocktail experience. The old fashioned was incredible and so was the martini. Atmosphere - Charming, quaint, intimate, and a time capsule into the past. If you know China Town, it’s run down, dirty, homeless scattered throughout, and limited parking. This place seems to be the beginning of a revitalization of the neighborhood. Staff - Our server was professional and knowledgeable and we also had the chance to talk with a number of staff members that came to check on us, take out dishes and refill drinks. Superb!

Absolutely lovely experience with a fantastic waitress! Servings are large, so keep that in mind when choosing apps! We got a steak Caesar salad and a special appetizer, both of which filled the two of us up, prior to our entrees! The food is wonderful, the ambiance is homey, and all around we had a delightful, very filling experience. I highly recommend it!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local, and it was spot on the best meal we ate all week. Kevin was our waiter and he was fantastic, knowledgeable and made our experience great! I highly recommend the rocky road ice cream:)

Such an amazing meal and dining experience! Came here to celebrate my partner's birthday. Our server, Taryn(?) Was warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food. We shared two starters and a main. The beet and avocado salad, hawaiian breadfruit with crispy okra, and pork ragu. Even though we were stuffed after, we split the strawberry fennel sorbet. Everything we had was so creative and perfectly seasoned and cooked.

Very average. salad was okay. pasta was okay. Kalbi was heavily flavored... tasted okay... but the meat was very tough.... and unpleasant to chew.

  • 5/5 Matt T. 1 year ago on Google
This place was amazing! We enjoyed every dish we had. One of the best features of this restaurant is the fact that everyrhing is locally sourced. All dishes were made in house, even the sodas! (FYI do not ask for a regular soda like coke or pepsi you will not find it here and the servers frown on it) I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was off the hooka My wife really enjoyed her quinoa burger. For desert I had the Rocky Road ice cream which is made in house (including the marshmallows!) and it was unbelievable. We were able to get reservations in the middle of the day so keep in mind that by 5pm on this place gets booked out so plan ahead. I highly recomend eating here!

We had lunch here during our vacation in June. We did not book and luckily a table became available within 5 minutes. The food was delicious and there were loads of options on the menu. Our server was excellent, informative and fun. The total price was very good value compared to other meals we had in Oahu. Would strongly recommend this place

From start to finish, a great experience. We had reservations at the bar, with the Maestro, Fabrice. His title is 100% deserving. He described in great detail the nightly specials, made amazing cocktails, and was very wonderful overall. We felt welcomed and were never rushed, allowing us to savor each bite. This is our new favorite restaurant, and we can't wait to return! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. This is a very intimately sized restaurant, and I'd hate for you not to get a table.

Terrific food, cocktails, and service at a very reasonable price! Best dining experience we had during our trip to Honolulu. Compares well to high-level restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, etc. Sorry for inelegant photos, but I was busy chowing down and drinking too much.

  • 5/5 Liron S. 2 years ago on Google
An impromptu stop in Honolulu that became so worth it because of Fete! The Hawaiian prawns (added to the Cesar salad) were absolutely butter and divine, the beets had a heavenly nut pesto cream, and the Korean chicken sandwich had the perfect omami! Thank god we had space for the olive oil cake and some great homemade vanilla gelato, they were on spot and a delightful ending to our quick Honolulu layover. Wow! Don’t think twice, just do it. Actually, do Honolulu just for Fete. Thank you guys!

Hands down, one of the classiest places I've ever had the luxury of eating. Service and food are top notch. I love this place!

  • 5/5 Sarah K. 2 years ago on Google
Loved this casual dinner spot! The Chicken Liver Mousse was out of this world, the chicken special they had that night (topped with foie gras) was seriously some of the best chicken I've ever had, and the Linguitini Carbonara was very good and filling. The area around the restaurant is a little sketchy at night so I don't recommend sitting outside or walking around after dinner.

We where referred by regulars and this place is amazing! We tried this salmon special and it was delicious I had the Fete Crispy chicken salad Chicken crispy on the outside juicy and tender on the inside made with delicious fresh greens and the sweet ginger tea was to die for! My cousin had the Fete shrimp salad and raved about it. Great food and atmosphere and service what else could we ask for.
