By far the fanciest Vietnamese restaurant I have ever tried, but I have no regrets. You definitely want to make reservations way ahead of time since they are so popular. Service was a 10/10. Our waiter knew what he was doing and was so informative of everything on the menu AND off the menu. Yes, you saw that right; if you see photos online of a certain dish, it may not be there the day you dine there. The menu is constantly changing. My friend wanted the oxtail pho and it wasn't on the menu that day, but our waiter knew exactly what she was talking about and said that he can request it to be made since it was still on their takeout menu. As for the food & drinks: - drinks were good and they did not go overboard with the alcohol - Le Fried Chicken Wings were crispy, delicious, and flavorful. - Raw oysters were fresh, but not the biggest - Grilled Sea Scallops were also fresh and filled with flavors. - Sesame Shrimp Toast was so crispy on the outside. I don't know what the sauce that came with it was, but it was such a nice pairing. - Pho 75 + the Spiced Red Wine Braised Beef was amazing! Not sure if they continued to have the braised beef option, but it is worth the $14. The soup and sauces were so rich in flavor, but it didn't feel too heavy or salty. We even took the soup and braised beef to go since we couldn't finish it. The Pig & The Lady is definitely on the higher end in terms of price, but the quality of everything makes it worth it. Truly was a great experience and would recommend anyone to stop by.

Ordered the brisket, pork collar, and seafood linguini. I would not even considered what was served real brisket. The meat was 100% lean with no fat, as expected it was very very dry and the crust was unpleasantly rock hard. Definitely not the soft juicy brisket I would have expected for $80 Seafood linguini is my favorite dish and I always order it if a restaurant serves it. It was very Spicy( which is fine) but the sauce is lacking in flavor. I will give it that the noodle was very well cooked. Pork collar was Same issue as brisket. Very dry and lacking in flavor. Underwhelming for a restaurant dish. Really did not have the food to back up the hype and prices. There are hole in the wall diners in Oahu that serve better food.

Went for lunch on a Wednesday. We got there 10 min before it opened and barely made it in the first seating. A lot of people started lining up around 1125 (opens at 1130). The pho 75 was good but slightly too sweet. They use hand cut flat rice noodles which gave it an interesting and varied texture with each bite. The pho french dip banh mi was underwhelming. It was severely undersalted although the meat was tender. I'd recommend getting the small bowl of noodles that comes with this banh mi instead of getting the full entree pho, if you plan on getting the banh mi. The braised pork belly with rice was outstanding! I loved the turmeric rice it came with. I'd get this again. Overall the food was visually beautiful but didn't fully hit the spot in terms of taste. It feels like it caters to people who don't know much about Vietnamese food.

Wow, almost every dish was a surprise. This is not the place to get the “authentic” Vietnamese food, but instead you get more fusion-y, more innovative flavors. Chicken wings are more leaning towards Thai flavor, but so tasty. Pho soup can definitely satisfy you just like the traditional one does, but more spice and complex notes are added, pushing it to another level. Duck hotpot was their special during this time, and it is so creamy and comforting (and it was the first time I’ve ever eaten a duck hotpot). Spaghetti was just so so though. Can’t wait to try more dishes. They are the type of “surprise guaranteed” restaurant.

A very modern and good restaurant of Vietnamese cuisine! The food was delicious and meet our expectations. We wanted to try French Dip and it was so good, the baguette was aromatic and crispy, and the meat melt in your mouth. And their pho 75 broth for dipping was so rich in taste. The crispy spring rolls was tasty as well, they were stuffed with delicious pork and went well with the sour sauce. The only disadvantage of the service that we felt was that we were not able to call them because they do not respond. We were held up by the traffic, and it was impossible to let them know that we were running late.

With not much time to spare in Oahu, I booked two dinners on the same night. This was the first restaurant so we couldn’t order much as we would have liked to. From service to dishes, this spot was awesome and I would highly recommend to all. Food breakdown: - oysters: fresh and tasted great with the vinaigrette - pasta: a little fishy due to the mussels but the flavour profile was epic due to the use of fish sauce, lemongrass lamb and fennel 👌👌 - garlic bread: so crunchy and such garlicky goodness

A dear friend recommended this place so I gave it a try. Had the Bun Thit for lunch and not only the presentation impressed me, the taste was beyond words. I would definitely go back there again. The pork belly was merited and grilled in perfection. I left the restaurant with a happy smile. This is a must try place for all the tourists if you like Vietnamese. It's a solid 5 🌟

One of the best bowls of pho I’ve ever had!! Super tasty food and staff is really nice, make sure you book a reservation though! Chicken wings are really tasty. Their soft serve also very good. Prices are definitely on the higher side but food quality is amazing and feels like it was made with love. Has a clean washroom.

Heard a lot about this place, so I made a dinner reservation for the last night me and my family would be in Oahu, to top off our amazing trip. It was definitely a unique food experience, but I can't say I'm on board with the P&L hype train. The combinations, while inventive, did not really produce memorable flavor profiles. At times, it seemed forced. The Washugyu Flank Steak dish, for example. The crying tiger sauce makes anything taste good, the washugyu steak, also great by itself. The steak and sauce together, however, was just... a good bite. It wasn't an amazing out of this world experience I expected it to be. The real hero on that dish was the fingerling potato medallions, which truly stole the show. The Bo Ssam Bánh Xèo appetizer was okay. The kimchi nuoc cham added a bit more flavor to the ssam, but the oysters were unnecessary - perhaps there as a reason to charge extra for the dish? Bo Kho Papardelle was an enjoyable dish, as it had Vietnamese flavors infused into the sauce, albeit not a strong flavor, which is a bit of a letdown. We'd have expected flavors of the cultures being fused to be brought out by each other, not tuned down to a point where it's just a hint of each culture's presence. Squid Ink Spaghetti seemed a bold decision to be put on the menu as it looked very out of place for a Viet restaurant, so we tried it. It was only okay. As is the case with the other dishes, it tries very hard to be something extraordinary, but we just couldn't figure out what the intent was. Vivo's in Orlando did it better. All in all, a semi expensive experience that was a bit disappointing. We went and got food from 7-11's afterwards to actually fill out our stomachs, and enjoyed the Southwest & Somen salads better. Their menu does change fairly frequently, so hopefully your experience will be better.

We arrived at 5:30pm when the restaurant opened for dinner. There was a line outside so make sure you show up early or make a reservation if you don't want to sit at the bar. Atmosphere: It has a nice cozy atmosphere with low lighting but not too low. It was relatively quiet even when completely packed. I don't usually say anything about a location's bathroom but it was funny to see a "Big Trouble in Little China" themed bathroom with a picture of Kurt Russell because he ate here once. The seating is all metal. Quite uncomfortable for me due to a condition but figured I would note this. Service: Staff was nice and very friendly. They joke and play while keeping a very good pace even during a rush. Food: Amazing. Everything was delicious. They managed to put together the perfect fusion of Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese and American flavors with the dishes that my friend and I ordered. Portion sizes were perfect. I highly recommend appetizers, the pork chop and the lamb chop (which is something because I usually don't like lamb). Pricing: As with anything in Hawaii, it does come with a higher price tag but it's worth the experience. Don't let this be your deciding factor on whether or not you want to eat here.

The place is in Chinatown area. The place was pretty busy, we were seated at the bar. Food is expensive but the size is also big. Good but it’s more to salty size to me. Coffee was good.. the server said it was mixed of two coffees.. Cafe Du Monde & Vanilla Macadamia Nut Coffee…

I've been coming to Honolulu for years and can't believe I haven't discovered this place before. The staff was super friendly, food was amazing and unique, and prices were reasonable for what you get. Come hungry and leave happy and full.

The food defitnely lived up to the hype, probably the best duck I've had here. Obviously marinated for a while because it was tender and full of flavor. The homemade ice cream sundae dessert is to die for. Amazing how they get the custard so perfect over it. The ahi toast is also a staple with generous portions of ahi that go surprisingly well with the avocado and toast. The service and atmosphere were lacking, though. Took 9 minutes just to be acknowledged at the table by a server when we were seated. No specials or tasting menu (despite the website saying as much), but the servers were friendly and helpful when asked, it's just the personal service that's missing, which is a shame because the kitchen spends so much time preparing and crafting these dishes that the intent never gets communicated to guests. The fact that it is more of a bar atmosphere with loud music and everyone seated in one large, open brick space doesn't help the servers at all either. The 5% service charge is also odd. I haven't seen that anywhere else. They charge $42 for 7 small slices of duck, so why not just charge $44 at that point instead of making a big fuss about caring about the staff. I would come back for lunch when it's hopefully quieter and more personable because the dishes really are good.

Very tasty and good standard of food. So nice we came here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch, we tried the banh mi with pho dip which was delicious and worth trying, the chicken wings and cocktails were also quite good. The soft serve was very yum. For dinner, we didn’t book, but was lucky to get a walk in table due to a no-show at 7:45 pm. The ahi tuna toast is a must have, as with the scallop crudo. The banh xeo entree was so large and main sized but was very tasty. We tried the pho and pork collar which were both really delicious. The portion sizes here are very generous and we didn’t need 2 mains, so we skipped dessert. A must try in Honolulu!

Probably my favorite restaurant in Oahu so far! I just visited yesterday and loved everything about it. The food was incredible, top 10 best sandwiches I have ever had (the oyster bahn mi was absolutely amazing) and the drinks were also really tasty. I also enjoyed the interior design *you have to use the restroom ;) * and the fact that it’s located in the historical and picturesque China Town. The prices are not bad (for Hawaii standards).

Went for a dinner in the weekend. Pho dac biet and escargot are very good. The tea salad has interesting flavor but dominantly sour - would be much better with less sourness. Highball cocktail is good. Daiquiri is again dominated by sourness. Restaurant was quite packed Saturday night so it's very loud. Service is great.

The service was incredible. It’s a bit of a long wait for food and it’s gets pretty noisy in there. Don’t have pictures but the Chicken Wings are a must try. They are delicious (along with everything I tried) and the perfect appetizer to have with a little side of rice.

An interesting evening - nothing bad but also nothing exceptional. Nice restaurant with good food and average service - that was our experience. Overall we were a little bit disappointed as based on the reviews online, we were expecting so much more. The food was great- don’t get me wrong, but the maitre d' wasn’t very welcoming at the start and at the end when leaving - it really adds a damper when you’re not made to feel welcome. We don’t ask for much, just a friendly smile would suffice. The waitstaff are super friendly- but they seemed overwhelmed and struggled to keep up so service was slow and laboured. The food itself was great - interesting fusion with lots of “Italian” influences - Pappardelle pasta which was nicely made, and the pork chop which was well cooked; the wings were sticky and tasty just as they should be. The ambiance is very relaxed and you could get away with shorts and flip flops. It was good but I don’t feel like rushing back anytime soon.

We checked this place out for dinner during one of our first nights. We made a reservation ahead of time. We ordered cocktails and they were pretty good. I ordered the pho and it was a really good-sized portion. I loved the meat and the broth, but I thought the noodles could have been better. Parking was a bit difficult to find and unfortunately the Chinatown area did not feel like the safest place to walking around at night. Mostly all of the businesses in the area were closed and there was heavy police presence.

This place was amazing! A perfect spot for vegetarians and carnivores alike. The Bahn mi was refreshingly delicious with the added noodles. My mom loved the cauliflower curry dispite it being spicy. They came by later with a dissert menu and wow was it delicious. We had the CHE PANNA Cotta (spicy Lilikoi). Blew our minds! I highly recommend eating here. But reservations are definitely the way to go. Cause the place filled up real quick.

Loved our dinner here! The fried chicken wings and Pho 75 are a must. The P&L soft serve topped with magic crack was delicious too.

Highly recommended by friends so we made a reservation well ahead of our trip. Unfortunately couldn't get the pho french dip sandwich since it's not on the dine-in dinner menu, but we got the roasted beets, le fried chicken wings, clam and sausage pasta, and the pho 75. Simply put, the flavors here are incredible. The roasted beets had a lot going on, but flavors still blended well. Le fried chicken wings were some of the best wings I've ever had - absolute must. Pho was different than your typical and worth trying and the clam and sausage pasta was delicious. Would def come back and try the other things that come up on the menu!

Wow. Best meal we’ve had while in Oahu. We started with the Ahi Tataki toast which was amazing. I ordered the Pho 75 which was insanely delicious. We could have and should have shared because it was so large. My partner loved the Bo Kho Bolognese, finishing all of it. I thought everything we got was worth every penny and I’ll gladly come here again next time I’m in town.

We had the banh mi with pho, pork belly, and fried chicken. I recommend all. The food was super delicious. I would also recommend their soft serve. Street parking is a bit difficult to find so I would pay to park. Overall, great spot.

Top five Oahu dining experiences in the last couple of years. Outstanding drinks, food, and service at a great price. Really no negatives about this spot, a must try!

A thoroughly enjoyable experience with excellent food that is both delicious and creative, not to mention excellent service. Everything is so good including brew to just right Vietnamese Iced coffee.

The Pig and the Lady is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. It serves some particularly rich and flavorful pho broths, and my favorite is the bun bo hue. I also recommend the unique yet perfectly sensical french dip banh mi. The laotian fried wings and springs are decent too. Bonus: get the egg coffee.

  • 5/5 Ankita C. 2 years ago on Google
Just plain delicious! We got the chicken wings that were perfectly fried sitting on top of this delicious salad with roasted peanuts and fish sauce based dressing. Highly recommend the oxtail pho and catfish cold noodle dish. The tables are well spaced out with barriers in between. We also got the Vietnamese coffee which was also great. Service was also excellent with knowledgeable staff that checked in at just the right times.
