The look out is great and has awesome views. They charge you 7 dollars for parking. So to get my money worth I also did the hike there to. I only made it to the second peak, unfortunately it was extremely windy up there, and dangerous at some points to cross. Absolutely amazing views up there, but you must also know your limitations and what's safe and what's not. Use good judgment and always test ropes before using them. Bamboo forest was great and shaded, but up towards the top is very windy and sunny. Water and bug spray, hat and you will be good. I hope this helps you out and have a great day.

Excellent free spot to stop in got a few minutes. Parking on-site is $7, so you may want to park outside the gate and walk a few minutes uphill.

This is a gorgeous gem!! By far one of my favorite lookout points on Oahu! You just pay a meter for parking and enjoy the stunning and breath taking views of the land. Spend as much time as you want learning a little information from the displays and self reflect. The views are spectacular!! Pictures don't do it justice as in person.

We went here on a buys tour. A brilliant lookout located a short distance from Honolulu. Under 30 minutes from Waikiki. The views are amazing. It can get very windy and cold up there. Watch your hats and bring a jacket. Well worth the short cold walk. Amazing views on both sides on the drive up to this beautiful lookout. Really enjoyed it. .

Stunning views of the cliffs and ocean. Very windy. Cooler temps at this elevation can be like air conditioning. Small parking lot with payment kiosk. $7.55 was good for the entire day (until midnight).

Absolutely gorgeous lookout — one of the best I’ve ever been to. A must on Oahu. The day we went was pretty overcast in general and it was stunning. It does get pretty windy. Recommend a hair tie, a secure hat, a good coat if you get cold, etc. If you bring a regular hat, be sure to hold on tight, the wind will pick up on you suddenly. The history in the area is fantastic as well as all of the nature and undeveloped land. You do need to pay to park. They have parking stalls or signs that you can pay through your phone. It was $7.90 when we went - but to help maintain the area, that was OK with us. Depending on what time of year you roll through and which direction you leave, you might run into some pretty decent rain (especially when exit out of some of the tunnels) so drive safely.

If you wanna be mesmerized, come to Nu-uanu Pali Lookout ❤ Lots of history, too. Side note: tag a local along so you don't have to pay for parking.

Beautiful lookout of the entire Windward side of the island with a rich history. This is a great place to stop for everyone because it's SUPER easy to get to, has parking right at the lookout and you only walk a few yards. They have handicapped parking and everything. Parking is easy to pay right on your phone by scanning the QR code on the signs and parking is free for locals. If you like pics of stunning scenic views, this is a 'must stop' place for you.

Last time I came up here the parking was cheap and you could go walking along the ridge. This time the parking was really expensive considering you can no only go to the viewpoint. The view is fantastic and worth a visit, just a shame they have now make it so expensive and blocked off all the paths.

Even on a cloudy windy day this view was still absolutely beautiful. There’s parking but not very much. We went on a weekday and it was not crowded at all.

Absolutely gorgeous. Such a hidden gem. We went around sunset and there are plenty of parking spaces. 1 min walk from the parking lot to the lookout and the view is gorgeous! Really good place for a quick stop and scenic view when you are traveling back to Waikiki

This place is a hidden gem. It's a short walk up the the viewing point and has plenty of parking for your car. The views from the ridges are beautiful! You can see so far down into the island along with the mountains and ocean! Weather changed so many times withing a few minutes, bring a rain coat just in case

Great lookout point, you get a panoramic view of Honolulu. It was very windy today so we didn't spend much time, but the scenery was beautiful, fog in the nearby mountains made everything even more pretty. Be aware you have to pay for parking here, it's a minimum of $7 up to 2 hours. You can use GPay or credit card.

One of the best places for scenic viewing and photography. The place is surprisingly windy and the lookout has beautiful opportunities for scenic photography. They have a $7 parking fee which is a bit steep considering that one will typically spend around 10 mins here. We were lucky to get a parking spot right away, though the attendant was sharing that people often have to wait to get a parking spot. I also noticed that there were cars parked close by, though i suspect they were doing it to avoid the parking fees. I really liked the setting and got some excellent pics and videos.

This is easily one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever experienced in person. The photos are magnificent but really don’t do it justice. This is a must visit if you come to Oahu. Don’t skip this stop because I can’t describe to you how memorable it is. This should be on everyone’s itinerary, it does get windy up there so be prepared with jackets

Short distance from the parking lot, offering great views from above. Warm clothes maybe required if visiting during winter months.

The views are breathtaking and the history is fascinating. The wind was blowing fast and hard and felt amazing. It started raining three times while we were there and each time it prompted everyone to run to their cars, leaving us to ourselves. While you're there if it does start raining don't run off. It'll stop very soon.

This is a famous scenic spot on Oahu, the Hawaiian Islands. This island is full of beach and sea scenery, and this scenic spot is dedicated to mountain scenery. It is famous for mountaineering and it is a three-winded man-made viewing platform. Many tourists The field of vision is very wide, you can see the sea, you can see the residential buildings, and you can see the clouds in the mountains in the distance of the golf course. It is like a fairyland. It is very beautiful. Many tourists come here to take pictures or take pictures of the scenery.

Very much enjoyed this lookout. Beautiful views, a nice breeze, and a very interesting history. A historic war site although one does not get a negative vibe. Trails were closed but well worth the trip. Parking is not free.

It is always a pleasure to come here and bring guests as well to learn some history of the island. Beautiful views in every direction and always a fantastic breeze. We had at least 50 mph winds today, if not more. You may want to carry a jacket or sweater, especially if traveling here in the winter months as it can be quite chilly.

Beautiful view. It would probably have been even more spectacular if it had been sunny.

EVERYONE MUST STOP HERE. I beg you. Local or visitor. Young and old. It's a very quick stop with absolutely phenomenal, breathtaking views of Kaneohe and beyond. Utterly beyond words. Pictures cannot do it justice. Parking is 7$per vehicle, or free for locals. Only takes a few minutes minimum. Stay longer to read about the history here, take pictures, or just watch the landscape.

Spectacular views of the Island! Hold on to your hats, it is very windy. Limited parking, and it can get busy. Great photo opportunities.

Incredible! This was one of the top highlights of our Hawaiian vacation, hands down. Cool story, incredible views, and easy to get to. It's a must-see site. The wind is furious enough to blow your skirt up (another reason for the attraction) and hard enough to blow things out of your pockets and purse, so be careful! Lots of fun for the kids too.

Nu‘uanu Pali Lookout, Kaneohe, Oahu About a 20min drive from Waikiki, gives you a panoramic view from the lookout toward the Windward coast of Oahu, as well as the cliffs of the Ko’olau Range. This is a historic sight with breathtaking views. It was very windy the day we went and cooler than the coast, probably due to the elevation. Parking is $7 per day, and the lookout is open 6am - 6pm. Then you can drive to Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden, and then Manoa Falls on the way back to Waikiki. #NuuanuPaliLookout #Nuuanu #PaliLookout

Amazing views. Great stop and wonderful cultural history about this spot. A must. I’ve been here several times, one time it was freezing cuz windy and rain. But most times it’s warm. Just a heads-up only time I was cold on Oahu.

Such a gorgeous lookout. Beautiful views. A must visit if traveling here. Paid parking unless you’re a local or with a local. Only one person monitoring it. You might be able to sweet talk her. We were able to park for free because we were with a local who showed car registration. Otherwise, a must visit!!

The view is breathtaking. The air is so fresh. Butttt, we were just wondering why were there a lot of roosters in the area??? Forgot to take pictures of the roosters. 😆

Omg! This view was breathtaking. It was worth every minute to get there and my ears were popping but worth it. We were high up in the sky. The clouds were sitting in the mountains next to us.

Gorgeous spot to park and view the breathtaking views! You must pay for parking if you are not a local resident. Lots of history here so be sure and read the signage provided. Oh and have your camera ready. Incredible site!

A nice scenic view that took me 25 minutes to drive from Wakiki. To get here you drive through a verdant pathway, very beautiful. Parking is 7 dollars as mentioned in other reviews and is quite limited. Maybe around twenty spaces. I went around the middle of the week, plenty of spaces were open. You get a pretty strong breeze when up here, along with the view. Worth the stop along the highway.

Spectacular views of the windward side. Shear emerald cliffs on the Koolau mountains. SUPER WINDY! Hold on to your hats & glasses. A must stop, on your island tour.

My granddaughter and I walked up from the parking lot to the look out area. We read the history boards and checked out the plant life. It is a spectacular view and even though I am disabled I was able to walk up and back down without assistance. I just went slowly. If you are in a mobility device, there is plenty of access should you want to see the breathtaking view!

Must visit place in your Hawaii trip. Surely one of the top lookouts in the world - really defines what a lookout is. Breathtaking views after an amazing drive to it. Amazing history of the place too. Easy ample parking available.

This amazing lookout is perfect for selfies. But be aware, the constant wind will give you a new hair do by the time you leave!

  • 5/5 Noelle P. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely breath-taking! The view, the history, just everything about this location was spectacular! Beware of stinging camouflaged bugs. They can do real damage, thankfully nothing hydrocortisone can't fix. I highly recommend the trek up the mountain to witness this unbelievable view!
