I wish I could tell you how awesome this historic landmark is. How it’s maintained so well and cared for as a relic of Hawaii’s past. Truth is, the Aloha tower is the exact opposite. Although this tower is a historic landmark in downtown Honolulu, it seems to have become yet another victim of carelessness and disregard for repair. It’s depressing how many historic locations around Oahu are neglected. It seems the upper lookout point used to be open but that is not the case currently. Both the Hawaiian and United States flags flying atop the tower are in shambles. Just really sad that those who should be responsible for the upkeep of this landmark are failing at their jobs.

Sadly it's all run down. Nothing exciting to see there anymore except you like to have a look at the harbor. It's not possible to go up the tower anymore and majority of shops closed down. I assume another victim of covid. I remembered 15 y ago there were plenty of shops and eateries.

Beautiful historic tower that completes this interesting site and gateway from the ocean. The elevator could not be used, so it is not possible to go up and see the view of the surrounding area. However, there is a restaurant down below it and several other restaurants and stores that are worth visiting.

I love to stop here. Would drop in the convenience store for the spam musubi every morning. The area between the tower and the old maritime museum that is no longer open has some beautiful and colorful fish.

The parking lot is a scam. They have a small sign that is hard to see, warning of no overnight parking. This signage would never be allowed on the mainland, it is not very visible, it is just a scam to steal tourist money by the lot and the tow company. The tow company will only take cash.

As of August 9th 2021 the tower is CLOSED until further notice. Would have been nice to know before I made the trip over there. Hopefully this is helpful to the next person.

It looked real nice. But I would recommend that you call or look for updates before heading up there. First 15 minutes free for parking and after that $3.00 per hour. But most shop's are closed due to the co vid 19... And the tower is closed down due to that too. It was a ghost town up there when we went.

I tried to go in, but there was a private party happening when I arrived. Looks great though and I do intend to go back before leaving.

It’s an interesting building and as a lighthouse enthusiast it was somewhere I wanted to visit…sadly though you can’t enter the tower and the areas around the tower seem a little old in need of a little care and attention.

I love stopping there. There's all kinds of shops, and I'd like to go to the Spaghetti Factory to have a dinner. At night time the tower is lit up. It's beautiful.

Tower looks pretty cool, however it's closed off so we didn't get a chance to climb up the stairs to see the view from the top. We did have to pay for parking. The first hour is free I believe. If you get your ticket validated it's only 2 bucks.

Took The Bus 23 here. Was very disappointed as we could not climb up the stairs. However, we did learn the history of the tower from the information provided. Even though the tower is rather old, but the time shown on the clock is accurate

It's a shame, this used to be the place to go for food entertainment and much more. Now just a couple businesses open many however closed for good.

Tower is closed, permanently. Yet, there are tour groups still selling tickets here???😡 Water around the tower base at Pier 8 is filthy beyond description. Beautiful fish, and some dying coral, but locals have allowed garbage to collect in the water and the sea life is dying off because of it. There are marine biologists all over the island, and none of them, none of the restaurants, none of the mega hotels care enough about the local inlets to organize garbage cleanups? Shame on the locals, and double shame on the tourists who go into someone else's homes and leave their garbage anywhere they choose. The coral, the fishes, and the mammals suffer because of humans' indifference. Anyway, skip the tower.

Interesting historical lighthouse. It would be cool to be able to visit the top. But for free it was a nice quick visit.

A must see for for all. Sunset is best to experience the orange and red sunsets of tropical rainbows. Just past dusk, the tower is lit up in multi colored lights that frame this beautifully sculptured man made monolith.

Mahalo for a welcome and move in like no other. History, Hope, and A Host of new friends. Take time to walk the pier, eat tacos, and have a mimosa. I recommend everyone contribute to an organization that provide scholarship and funding opportunities for students. Education is an amazing investment.

1920's structure that (maybe) started life as a lighthouse. If you cruise to Hawaii, this is where you'll come ashore. Lots of nice, not outrageous restaurants in the area.

Beautiful landmark in Downtown Honolulu! Don't miss this 100 year old historic building. In a place that is millions of years old with unbelievable beauty, it is nice to see simple man made creations gain such positive attention.

Dropped by this place to get our motorized bikes. Thanks, Ryan for accommodating us even on short notice. The e-bikes were awesome & great way to cruise around the city fast, convenient & in style!! What an experience!

Interesting place, historical. Unfortunately the top view point is closed and a lot of shops nearby also. Somewhere was trash. But it's near the ocean and you can see some ships nearby.

We came all the way from Nevada to see this iconic landmark. However it was closed and nobody is allowed to go up there despite the fact that it still said open on the google search. Please note that the tower is closed. You can take picture and eat at the Spaghettis Factory, that is pretty much it. We rated the 5 star due to the fact that Aloha Tower is a historical landmark in Honolulu.

Beautiful tower to photograph & look at from pier 10. NOTE: There is a note on the elevator stating, “Closed till future notice.” Don’t know if there are steps.

The Aloha tower in Oahu harbor looks really good. Unfortunately, currently (April 4) the observation deck is closed. The surrounding area had very likely had a better time as well.
