Lots of different things to do up on the mountain, just keep in mind that this is a community and you're essentially a guest in their homes. This is one of my favorite places in town for nature bathing.. You can just drive, walk or bike roundtop, or do one of the many hikes or varying difficulty. Do you research and come prepared because there are some very difficult and dangerous ridge hikes.

Beautiful hike especially through the bamboo forest. Water crossing at least 3X one way. Ran into a couple of Moms with 3 children under 4 yrs old and they made it. Beautiful Lulumanu falls.

Beautiful!! It's not difficult, kids can go on the hike. The scenery is gorgeous throughout the whole hike ❣ shaded and cool. The path was pretty muddy so wear shoes that can get dirty and wet.

Went back way to stairway to hell, then dropped down hälawa stream thru the waterfall system. Amazing. Very dangerous though. Need to bring minimum 150 - 200 ft of rope if your gonna try. Watch out for the bats in the cave.

Probably one of the most epic Hikes in Oahu. It's also called K2. Lots of climbing using ropes. Not much mud... probably because didn't rain much in 2 days. It's a 9 mile hike. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Took me about 5 hours with a good pace and not many breaks.

Beautiful hike, well-maintained trail. Awkward to access with Round Top being closed! But the drive and the hike itself was worth the inconvenience.

Absolutely loved the waterfalls beautiful. It is quite the hike up. Takes around 30 to 45 minutes each way. Make sure to take water with you. We stopped for shaved ice at the restaurant before leaving great little spot

Manoa Falls: Just a great hike to the waterfall. Make sure you are wearing good hiking shoes as it is uphill all the way in and the opposite on the way out. We did it in the rain and were pretty soaked when we got back! After all it is in a Rain Forest. Remember its a bit slippery in areas when wet. The trail is fairly well kept but parts of it get washed out so those areas can be a little rough. The falls itself is spectacular in the wet season. There are some quaint areas that make good photo ops along the way. Total time with viewing and rest stops about 1.5 hours.

Shoe brush at trail entrance was a nice surprise. Well-maintained trails, native plants, pretty views, and cool breezes made for a beautiful morning hike.

It's representative of the wilderness that 99% of Oahu visitors believe doesn't exist on the island.

Parking just outside the gate and the trail is directly to your right. Little difficult to follow the trail at some points but for the most part, trailblazers before me have marked the trail with tape and ribbons. It's a beautiful, shady hike that goes through a forest of trees and bamboo. Once you hit the stream, follow it all the way up the waterfall. Depending on the last rain will determine how much water the fall let's down. But regardless, it's a wondrous site! Very lovely and highly recommend if you have some time and you're around Pali Highway.

I took a hike, and loved every minute of it. My coworkers did research on the specific hike we did and it made our experience, wonderful. Please be respectful of wildlife and flora on the island so we can all admire her beauty

Parking fee for visitors, free for HI residents. This trail is tough! The trail head is not marked well but walking back to the highway from the vistor center there is a little off shoot and that is the trailhead. You start by scaling the water drainage trench and follow pink and orange flags tied onto trees. It is VERY muddy and slippery. The different areas you walk through are beautiful, the waterfall at the end was just a trickle when we went but other reviews have seen it in full. There is a cave you can explore if you dare, there is a rope to climb up into the cave. Despite the challenge of the mud the memories of this hike were what we took home we laughed so hard when we fell and had great conversations.

We were hiking Ka'au Crater Hiking Trail. Got lucky and got one of the 5 parking spots near the trailhead. Otherwise you park in the neighborhood and walk. I advise following the pipe if you're doing the waterfall trail. We didn't and failed.

This off the beaten path hike was a little extreme. It was short, but not well travelled or marked. Oh, and muddy. It felt like bivoacing and it was really cool.

The forest is remarkable. It's a fun hike, but west shoes you can get wet. The path crossed the stream and it's slippery on some of the rocks you hike over. Overall super fun and good exercise.

Unique forest walk. Beautiful grounds with a lot of history. Nice place to take pictures. We came across an old stone house that has a few walls still standing. Wear good shoes.

This was my favorite hike on the island! The waterfall is in the middle of the jungle and you get stunning scenery as you walk towards it. Highly recommended.

We hiked Monona falls earlier, and I loved this one even more. Secluded area, more natural of a hike.

Great place to cool down and enjoy a peaceful place. My kids love this place. Now the steam and pond nice than before. Nice soft grass, if you get lucky you can see a Jackson chamelon.
