Lots of interesting produce and all sorts of oriental specialties. There's a store exclusively dedicated to sauces and condiments. Also, some oriental antique stores.

There is a very authentic Taiwanese noodle restaurant here. I had it six years ago. The taste has not changed this time, and the garlic-flavored pork is really good! I recommend friends who like Chinese noodles to try it.

Ate dimsum here. It's really the best for that. Other than that enjoy our street culture of chinatown on the river Aloha

Best place to park in Chinatown if you’re exploring Chinatown. The parking structure entrance is on Maunakea St. They raised the hourly rate to $2/hour and only open certain hours. But check to be sure on the sign when pulling in. When the sun goes down, the whole area is sketchy.

Saturday, 4 PM. Dead. I’m surprised to see Google says it is open until 9. I would not want to be there after dark. Lots of homeless, addicts, and panhandlers. Otherwise the plaza was empty with most shops closed, apparently for a long time. There’s something in the atmosphere - tension, despair, I’m not sure. I was expecting something similar to New York’s Chinatown. Not at all. Our guidebook (Lonely Planet) gave a glowing review of this place. They need to revisit. Very sad.

First visit at the Chinese Cultural Plaza for the Chinese New Year celebration for 2018. It was very crowded but the atmosphere, it's excitement, was contagious. The vendors were great. Miss the parade and the block party they usually hold yearly. So compared to that it's a little downgraded on the usual things to see and do. But overall, it was nice.

Sadly, many of the little shops and associations are currently closed, but during the daytime weekday at least, there are a couple of restaurants and produce stands in the very back. Friendly service and a good variety of ingredients for cooking Chinese food (dried mushrooms, lotus flowers, spices, seaweeds... spices and sauces and pastes... in addition to fresh fruits & vegetables).

It is always empty these days I think covid rules did most of the business in. 3 or 4 years ago it would be bustling with activity shoppers. About 2 dozen Chinese guys playing mahjong daily on the tables by the canal.

Big,spacious, nice Buddhist temple on site, lots of inscence in the air, people a bit pushy, too close for safety, but masked for the most part. Close to bum row tho, overflow of the less cleanly habit having mob. That's only drawback, besides that there's lots of good shopping g to be had, tons of side stores a f cultural shopping to do.

This is a convenient place to park your car while visiting Chinatown. We paid $2 for our 1.5 hr stay to have lunch. Other than that, there's not much to do or see in this cultural plaza. The retail areas need a serious renovation.

Not a bad place to take a quick walk around and explore, try some authentic asian foods and buy some trinkets, but Honolulu's Chi-Town pales in comparison to some others on the North American mainland. Still worth checking out.

This cultural plaza opened when I was growing up in Honolulu. Though the building is showing its age it still boasts wonderful merchants. The grocery store tuckered in the back and the dim sum place are popular and deservedly so.

A mall with an Asian-inspiration tone and shops. It has a stage, and shrine dedicated to Kuan Yin, which helps to preserve the Asian heritage of Chinatown. There were a lot of visitors paying their respects at the shrine while visiting the plaza.

It’s one of the rare places in the world that Kuo Min Tang’s flags are flying in the sky day and night! This Chinatown Cultural Plaza, funded and built by Taiwanese, is the centre for the local Chinese communities to hold events. Inside, there is a Guanyin Buddha with free scents offered for people to pay worship - an act of true philanthropy.

After nearly three years of covid isolation, it was wonderful to celebrate Chinese New Year walking around food booths, merchandise, and lions dance and performances.

I was surprised of how traditional Chinese cultures were preserved here. Several Chinese style restaurants, travel agency, acupuncture and few others shops are located inside the complex. The adjacent parking structure is both convenience and cheap. We parked over one hour for just $1, too good to be true.

The Chinatown Cultural Plaza in downtown Honolulu is a true gem in the heart of the city. This bustling and vibrant area is filled with a rich mix of cultures and traditions, offering visitors a unique and authentic experience. The bustling open-air market is a must-visit, with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to handmade goods and traditional crafts. The area is also home to several cultural landmarks, including temples, museums, and cultural centers, all of which provide a fascinating look into the rich history and heritage of the neighborhood. There are classes available and lots of restaurants to eat at. Whether you're in the mood to shop, eat, or simply soak up the atmosphere, the Chinatown Cultural Plaza is an experience not to be missed.

My first place I had hoped to visit as soon as I arrived in Waikiki, from the familiar culture, building aesthetics, to the delicious food it was everything I heard about and more. Definitely a sight to behold if you're ever nearby.

Updated parking, no person collecting money. Everything is automated. Pay at machines before going back to your car. As of 01.01.2023 validation no longer needed. 1st 30 minutes is free. After that is around $2 per half hour. *********Older review below***** 5 levels of parking available upstairs. Make sure to get validation for discounted parking fees good up to 6 hours. I enjoy walking around the airy open courtyard, looking at all the little specialty shops and jewelry knick knack stores. Some shop owners are gruff with stink eye others super friendly. I don't let that bother me. Lots of food places and I'll be reviewing those too. Open market selling fresh veggies and kimchee on mountain side of plaza opposite side of stage. Walk through a dark hall next to shop full of foreign DVDs. Ask for Kathy if you want 5 star friendly service. Kathy's mom offer home made style marinated cuttle fish and pickled spicy delicacies. Yummm!

Great place to find delicious eaterys, shop for jewelry or get a treatment for your health. They no longer validate parking so keep that in mind when visiting.

Ok but parking is outrageous if you are picking up and only are there 10-15 minutes. They charge $7 flat rate. Which is good for up to 10 hours. Great I guess if staying that long.

Shops were closed up when we were there, but the statue was beautiful and Jolenes market has amazing food.

Best place to adventure around. Don't just speed walk through it's not so long roads and sidewalks. There's places to sit and watch time pass by. Lots of interesting people. Lots of interesting things.
