It was obvious from the beginning they did not want a non Japanese person visiting. You have to ring the bell to get in. Which I did and then stood outside for a few minutes after they looked my way and another person came up from behind and let me in. They said they would help me in a few minutes. Other people walked in, the employees helped them and showed them to the gallery. I then asked to pay for the gallery. The employee who let me jn told me they validate parking. So when I was done, I asked for validation and was told I would have to purchase something at the gift shop. Since the content of the exhibit is about racism. I really feel I got the point. The exhibit itself was informative, and I learned a lot. I would not suggest this place to others.

Had a great time at the New Year's Festival held at the Japanese Cultural Center. Authentic traditions were explored and hands-on exhibits were displayed for optimal learning experience.

What a well done museum! If you have interest in Japanese Hawaiian history, including internment, this is your place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Came to the JCCH to attend a seminar, and they provided a bento for us from their new caterer, Bamboo Catering (no longer under Marian's catering). All I have to say is WOW, everything in it was delicious! High-end tasting fish, chicken, steak, garlic noodles and tsukemono! The JCCH Director, Nate Gyotoku, gave us a detailed tour of the facilities after the event; it was wonderful to see the pristine dojo, tea garden, beautiful tea house, historic exhibits, gift shop, the Heritage Center, etc.! Love seeing the preservation of cultural arts and history here! Excellent place to see a part of the Japanese American history in Hawaii via the Okage sama de exhibit and Honouliuli Center. You really can see and feel the joy and commitment the staff has to keeping the cultural spirit alive here. For any small or large events, I'd highly recommend JCCH's Ballroom or meeting room! Highly recommended!

Great place to hold a large party. Staff did a nice job taking care of our 400+ sized group. Reasonable validated parking. Located across the street from Longs Drug, near University Ave.

I attended a Lecture in one of their Meeting Rooms. The atmosphere was very inviting. Very clean and organized. The chairs arranged perfectly. The refreshments were spot on. The Hot Coffee was hot. The Iced Water was cold. Ample cups for our large group. The service people were attentive, quiet and efficient.

This venue is oftentimes more convenient and practical for small to medium size events. The food caterer is good and the facilities are well kept. Parking fee is on the high end, but probably cheaper than venues in Waikīkī hotels. I enjoy coming here!

My experience there was a great and interesting place to be. Although I would like to visit again when I have the chance. I would like to see everything there is. Instead of hearing about it I would love to experience it.

I’ve been here for a variety of smaller events and it’s a good space. Ballrooms are a good intimate size. The location is central and convenient and easy to get to. The parking structure is ok. Some of the turns are tight and the path it takes is winding for some reason, but there’s a lot of spaces and they’re pretty wide.

THE MUSEUM IS NOT OPEN! But there's a small exhibit and the gift shop has some really cool things for good prices. We caught some donated art being sold for yard sale prices, really beautiful antique japanese scrolls. Parking is $4/hr unless you buy something.

👍👍 I went to see Hamilton. I searched for a ticket on Ticketmaster the day of & got it for only $37! The website charged around $18 service fee. Next time, I will try purchasing the ticket at the ticket window to see if there is a difference in price. I got Balcony, row R which I thought might be bad,...
