Must have military/DOD ID to visit. Located on Ford Island, this small but powerful memorial to the USS Utah is a must visit. There is a small parking lot located next to the memorial making it ADA accessible. Come pay your respects to these sailors who gave all during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

***HISTORICAL*** A free piece of history just waiting for travelers. With USS Missouri and USS Arizona just around the corner of this little island, it's east to overlook the USS Utah peaking from the surface of the water. Yet this site is the host of historical information of the tragedy encountered on December 7, 1941. Please take a moment to drive by and see the remains of the USS Utah. Salute! Brian Hargis US Army and Google Guide.

Before going to the memorial I recommend reading up on the USS Utah. The memorial is quaint and besides being able to survey the remains of the ship not a lot of information is given. Lives were lost, lives were saved, and a medal of honor was awarded posthumously.

Quiet and tranquil, up-close and personal. The USS Utah is almost close enough to touch. Without the proper ID getting on to Ford Island isn’t possible, but if you get the opportunity you should take it. A small yet poignant tribute to the sailor who lost their lives on this battleship on December 7 1941 in the inferno that was the Utah.

It’s a small memorial for those who died on the USS Utah when petal harbor was hit. AmazIng history and story on the rescue attempts of the sailors caught and a final ending that brings a heart warming sensation and tears to your eyes.

A place of remembrance for the sailors that died here during the attack. A nice little shrine that has a great deal of bearing for the sacrifices made that day. Essentially, its a burial ground at sea. But its good to see that it was made to remember.

Memorial for Battleship Utah and those who sacrificed during the Bombing of Pearl Harbor that ignited WW ll. You can see some part of the submerged battleship. I am humbled with tears to see these memorial and I will be grateful and thankful for those men and women who sacrificed for this country. And for those who are serving and will still serve. You must have a Base access to see this memorial. Wheel chair accessible and has enough parking.

USS Utah is a sobering reminder of the human sacrifice that our military members bravely accept as they perform their duties with courage and valor. This memorial was not busy during my visit and I was able to pass a few quiet, reflective moments looking out at the remains of the USS Utah. You must stop by and pay your respects when visiting Ford Island.

My son and I did the Ford Island tour of the USS Oklahoma and the USS Utah. I am truly glad we did and feel fortunate we were able to get tickets. The national park staff were fantastic in sharing their knowledge of Ford Island, it's history as well as the stories and history of the USS Oklahoma and the USS Utah. I particularly wanted to go to see and honor the remains of the USS Utah. It makes me feel so sad that it is thought of as the forgotten ship of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Yet entombed on the USS Utah are brave men that served and died for their country the same as the far more famous USS Arizona. I had read some reviews that have said that the tour wasn't really worth the trouble compared to seeing the USS Arizona memorial. It's true that where the USS Utah rests is not nearly as flashy as the Arizona memorial. But how can one say it isn't worth it to honor and pay your respects to men that died for you and me?

Coming to see the site that the USS Utah is resting is a bit off the normal tourist site. It is located on off Ford Island and on the opposite site from Arizona & Missouri. We drove here, and unless you're on a tour, you must have a military ID. It is amazing to see the wreckage after 81 years. I stood for a bit in silence just to remember all the people who lost their lives so long ago.

A very moving experience. This memorial is a very tangible reminder of the lives lost on that fateful day. This spot doesn't appear to be visited as often as other memorials in the area. If you're on Ford Island, take the 3 min drive over to visit this memorial and spend a quiet moment.

The wind seems to always be blowing here, so hang on to your hats. It is a very simple, to the point monument with about 5 parking spots. Everytime we have been we are the only family until we are leaving, so although it always seems to have visitors they are quick and spread out, so I've never seen it crowded. GPS can't seem to find it well, so it's helpful to ask directions. The island isn't very big though... so as long as you stay out of the housing area you will eventually run into it.

If you can access Ford Island this is a memorial that shouldn’t be missed. Small parking lot. No restrooms. Even tho parking lot is small I have never had a problem parking. When visiting Ford Island also stop and see the USS Missouri, USS Oklahoma memorials from the shore. Have to verify Aviation museum is still open but that was another must visit place! .

Free to visit and located on the northwest side of Ford Island. There are no restrooms on-site and no overhang cover.

The history behind this story is extremely moving. I hope the Sailors inside are truly able to rest in peace.

Don't forget to visit the Utah when you go to pearl Harbor!! Everyone one makes it to the Missouri and the Arizona... but the Utah is around the other side of Ford Island and it doesn't get the respect it deserves!!! Please pray your respects to the fallen in the Utah!!

Lesser known and visited Memorial than its contemporaries but very eloquent. Highly recommend for everyone to see if they are visiting the memorials to pay their respects to the crew members lost on the USS Utah.

Honoring the lives of our servicemen lost, something we all should do when we have the ability

Definitely make the trip to this lesser traveled monument. There isn't much information, so do a bit of research about the USS Utah before or after the visit

Under-rated. Most of the attention is on the Arizona. A nice quite place to reflect without the throngs of tourists. Completely free to visit. No tickets required.

Great stories. Lots of coins (change) left by visitors at the base of the flag. I left a BDE coin here last month, gone the next time I visited. Hoping a visitor from Utah picked it up.
