I was kinda nervous about booking this hotel due to all the not so good reviews being written, but I went ahead and did it anyway and I was thoroughly pleased with every facet of my stay! The check in process was quick, easy and courteous, my room was more than suitable and the elevator situation was nowhere near the nightmare I’ve seen other reviewers speak of! There was plenty of restaurants, beach life and just simply leisurely activities right within walking distance!! What more could you ask for?!? Keep up the great work!!

We had quite a terrible time at the holiday inn express. In our first room, the ceiling was flooding and leaking (see photos). When we told the front desk they had a maintenance person inspect it and tell us we had to move rooms. We got downgraded in our rooms and the front desk refused to give us any compensation for the downgrade or the fact that the ceiling was leaking. It was very unfortunate. At the very least they should offer a night or two off or a discount. Then, the front desk double charged us twice for our resort fees. We paid these upfront through the booking agent, but then they tried charging us again when we arrived. The morning breakfast is also very low quality and not worth it. It’s convenient but not good. We ended up going out for breakfast most days. The housekeepers were great though. They always worked very hard to keep the hotel cleaned and they were much appreciated.

I agree in general with many other reviews about this hotel, the elevators are indeed a little bit of a drag. Location is safe and not too far from the sea. I was upgraded to a partial ocean view room but the view up on floor 42 is pretty cool. Bed comfortable and decent water pressure for the shower. Big plus to the friendly and courteous staff I encountered throughout the hotel - they are all stars. The negatives are that air con machine which is really poorly positioned too close and low to the bed. The ceiling fan isn’t really helpful should you prefer not to use the air con, as we all have a certain comfortable temperature we like for sleeping. Regrettably I needed the air con machine on all night but it blew onto my face and kept waking me up.

Two queens with ocean view is not disappointing us. Centrally located and within walking distance of good food and beautiful beaches. You get breakfast every morning helping save money on meals. No restaurant or bar on premise. Small pool but a nice size jacuzzi. Putting section and ping pong. Great place to relax after a long day of soaking up the sun and surf. Staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. We will certainly come back.

This hotel was surprisingly nice. Rooms were a bit small, but we didn't need anymore room. The free breakfast was as good as free hotel breakfast normally is. Easily walking distance from all the touristy places and maybe 10min walking distance from the beach. Only real complaint I have is with the parking garage. They definitely don't have enough room for all the guests and we weren't given any options on where to go when their garage fills up. If you're parking in the garage, get there early.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It's very close to the busy Waikiki, if you like that type of tourist action. Where do I begin about this hotel 😮‍💨 1st of all the rooms are probably the smallest rooms I've ever encountered, I'm assuming it's because of the (express) because I've stayed in Holiday Inns before and never had a room this small. It literally resembles a cruise ship size space😩🥴. They have the sliding doors for the bathroom and they did not close. Woke up the 1st night to NO working WATER. Fortunately it was back working after hours of not working. We were offered to wash up in another room 🤔 definitely inconvenient. I would've appreciated some money off my bill for that night 😒 not to use a room that you're offering everyone to wash up in 🤢. Also they charge you for parking, however it's 500 plus rooms but only 100 plus parking spaces 🤦‍♀️🤬 Parking should be free because it's basically 1st come first serve. We've literally had to find parking blocks and blocks away every night since we've been here. I will say the cleaning staff are the most pleasant staff that they have here, with the exception of Omar at the front desk when checking in he was very pleasant. I am an IHG member which meant absolutely nothing because I booked through the 3rd party site. Obviously the 3rd party site was a better price than the actual IHG site (Riddle me that) so of course I would pick the better price for my family. They do however offer breakfast in the morning, options are very limited but that was a perk of this hotel. Oh the pool area is actually pretty nice. Even though we only went 2 days out of the 8days we were here due to severe winds (obviously that's no fault of the hotel). Overall this would be a Hard No for me when choosing to stay here again. 😕

Not sure why this hotel has such a low rating. The rooms are nice, updated, clean, quiet and comfortable. It's a pretty hotel with a market and very great pool area. It's walking distance to literally everything. Check in was easy, friendly staff. The only negative thing I've noticed at all was the tables people ate at by the valet area were never cleaned up. I'd 100% stay here again.

Overall, most of the accommodations were met when it came to check in and parking. The rooms were extremely clean and parking was easy. The hot tub and gym is an added bonus. The only complaint I had was one of my water bottles was thrown away during room cleaning. I addressed it with the front desk but the only recommendation I received was to buy a new one.

Our experience here has been very nice. The rooms are just adequate but the staff and service here was great. Ms Irene at the front desk was absolutely amazing!!! This establishment hit the jackpot with her. We will continue to patron this hotel solely based off of our interactions with her. The breakfast was good but once again it was the kind staff that really set this place apart from our usual hotel. Thank you Ms. Irene!! You really made us feel at home and my daughter just loves you! Thank you for your kind heart and hospitality you are one in a million!

I was very satisfied with my recent visit to this hotel! Location was perfect since there was shops on walking distance. on the 4 nights i was there i found parking on the street meters (huge plus since i saved money) since i was already prepared to pay 45$ a night for garage parking. FYI mostly everyone was not paying on the street meters and i decided to not pay too and did not have an issue. so basically my parking for my full vacation was free lol. The rooms are normal size not big not too small. Breakfast was opened from 6:30am-9am. I liked the breakfast options since i feel there was a little of everything for the whole family. Lastly, the view from my 43rd room window was great at night.

I recently stayed in this hotel. It is in a great neighborhood and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. Firstly, the cleanliness of the hotel was beyond my expectations. Additionally, I felt incredibly safe throughout my stay. The location was perfect as well, with plenty of restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The staff members were polite, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. They ensured that all my needs were met, and their friendly way to deal with the guests made my stay even more enjoyable. And let's not forget the delicious breakfast! Every morning, we had fresh and yummy food!! All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a spotlessly clean, safe, and convenient place to stay. The trained staff, amazing breakfast, and excellent location made for a truly unforgettable trip.

Loved this hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy upon arrival. Rooms are small but feel cozy, after all you’re in Waikiki, how much time are you really spending in a hotel room. Stayed on the 23rd floor and had beautiful views of the ocean, city and island behind us. A/C units kept the room nice and cool after a hot day on the beach and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The grab and go breakfast was nice and easy for the mornings we didn’t wanna head out to a local eatery. I would def recommend this hotel to others and I would stay here again.

This was a very disappointing stay at the Holiday Inn Express Waikiki Beach. Pros : The staff are extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly from reception, housekeeping and breakfast team. The beds are very comfortable and we had a great view of the beach from our room. Great location with only 10 minutes walk to beach and restaurants Reasonable pool area for relaxing, but beds are soon full and sun is only on pool for approx 4hrs. Breakfast is above average for Holiday Inn Express standards. However, the hotel need to control the waste of food taken by guests and then discarded, along with the quantity of food guests were taking out of the restaurant, as it was clear people were taking enough food to supplement other meals later in the day. Cons : Far too much building work noise during the day from two diagonal building sites makes it impossible to relax by pool - even with ear plugs! Room air conditioning units are very old and extremely noisy - it is impossible to sleep even with ear plugs Temperature control units in rooms are not connected to air conditioning units - you need to reach inside the a/c housing to be able to switch off the a/c with no fan speed control working on the unit. Rooms are extremely small and bathroom space is a nightmare - we stayed 7 nights and found the room very depressing and not somewhere you want to rush back to at the end of a busy day. Hotel policy is only to change the bed linen every four days and towels every alternate day. We had one change of bed linen over our 7 day stay! Note, no letter, or card in room to explain the room service schedule and no option to leave a card on your bed to request a change of linen. Such a bad policy to make guests have to request room service considering the daily rate on this hotel. Street noise also keeps you awake (if you turn off a/c) due to single glazing windows Conclusion : Great customer service and reasonable budget style breakfast choice. However, I would recommend paying extra to stay in better hotels with larger rooms where you can sleep with air conditioning.

A very nice hotel with kind staff. Pool and hot tub was nice. We had breakfast here every morning which started our mornings off good. The view from our 30th floor room was beautiful. The location is perfect, 5 minutes to the royal center, to the beach, and everything. It is all close by making it a great place to stay.

This hotel and our stay here has been the most amazing! If you have children or just need a relaxing time not going out and doing things then you need to check out the 5th floor where the pool, hot tub, shuffle board, mini golf, snack bar, and game room is! You are only a few blocks from the beach but worth the walk through the nice park across the way! Beautiful area! Close to all the excitement at night but not in the middle of it. We walked everywhere cause everything was so close and it was perfect!!

It was a convenient place to stay for my plans. Access to the bus and an easy walk around Waikiki beach area. Reasonably priced. Very small rooms, the pool was small and I did notice that my carpet was not cleaned all week but the rest of the maid service was good. I would stay again

I was in Hawaii for my first time to attend the wedding of my nephew. I stayed there for 7 nights, Sunday through Sunday. This was the hotel the bride-and-groom-to-be booked a numberf of rooms at for their wedding guests. My room was great, on 42 with an ocean view. Housekeeping did a great job. Enjoyed relaxing by the pool and in the hot tub a couple of afternoons. Didn't use the fitness room. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I would have appreciated having some healthier options for breakfast, such as egg white omelet for those of us watching our cholesterol. I had to have someone come up with a plunger twice for the toilet, but after that there was no problem. It was nice to have a remote control for the a/c unit, and be able to control it without getting out of bed. This hotel is a great for the money, and very convenient for exploring Waikiki. It was nice to walk only about 3-4 blocks to Waikiki beach. I would stay at this hotel again and would also recommend it to others. In fact, I'm planning to do an island-hopping cruise in about 6 years when I retire, and I plan to stay at this hotel the night before the cruise starts, and possibly for a few days after the cruise ends.

My husband and I stayed at your hotel for 9 nights last week. The staff were super friendly and very polite. They put us in the suite on the 26th floor. We had problems with the toilet which whistled on and off all hours of the day and night. We had maintenance try and fix it twice, that worked for a while but then started again. I hope it is fixed before the next guests. The buffet was also pretty ordinary. We had complimentary vouchers for the 9 days but only used 5 as we were fed up with the lack of quality. The pool was also very small and also too cold. Location was pretty good.

The stay at the hotel was overall good. We were able to find parking in the lot on both days easily. They charge 47$ per day for parking. The location is good as many main areas or popular visiting sites are nearby. They offered different breakfast options everyday. Too bad we couldn't try 75% of them as they were not halal. The staff is friendly and quick to act. We went to see if could try the jacuzzi but it was too crowded in evening.

We stayed for 14 days at this hotel. The rooms are absolutely okay, they are small BUT if you go to Hawai’i to stay in your hotel room all day… please don’t go at all. There is so much to explore. Everything was clean, housekeeping was on point, all hotel staff was always super friendly. The breakfast was okay. Nothing super special, but it is included so either take it or go and look for another place. There are plenty down the main road, and in the little side streets. Public transport was easy to access as well as the close by beach. The hotel is directly at a bigger intersection but noise from the traffic etc was still okay.

The only thing good about this hotel is the breakfast options, other than that I would not recommend. We booked this hotel because it had a parking garage on site, but it turned out to be horrible. Not enough parking spaces to accommodate the amount of guest rooms to say the least. You get charged for parking, but half the time you can’t even find a space. Not to mention, if you have a vehicle with any sort of lift you will not fit in this garage. The housekeeping department is messy and unprofessional. You can see the housekeeping space in the parking garage and it is a huge mess. They even take up parking spaces with some of their carts which isn’t right. When we checked into our room there were dirty socks left behind from previous guests. We had four adults so we booked one room with two queen beds, which is definitely not enough space. There is barely any walking room around the beds and the bathroom is the size of a small closet. The breakfast is the only good thing about this place. There are plenty of options and the food was very fresh. I would not recommend staying here.

It was relatively good value considering the location, well appointed ocean view room and nice continental breakfast. Staff is friendly. It's about a 15+ min walk to the beaches. The elevator situation here sucks. The daily amenities fee is mandatory and adds up. Parking is expensive. It really depends on your situation and needs for the hotel to work well for you. Overall, had a pleasant stay here.

Service was great, everyone was super nice, walking distance from the beach, great breakfast. Fridge and microwave was helpful but no counter space. Parking space was a bit of an issue, you gotta be lucky finding one if you were to arrive late to the hotel. Rooms quite small, pretty clean I should say, but small, A/C right next to bed, ended up catching a cold from it on the last 2 days of my vacation. There is no closet space. For the resort we only use the pool since you had to get someone to come let you use the rest of the stuff nobody was around you had to go look for them.

I stayed for three nights in August 2021. My two queen room was clean when I first entered and offered a really nice view of the ocean and Diamond Head. (Tip: Book a full ocean view room and request a high floor to treat yourself to that view!) The only downside was that my room was quite tiny for four people. Moving on, the staff were really kind and friendly. On my first night, the fire alarm rang while I was sleeping. While I had to go 39 stories down using the stairs, I’m not even mad at them because the staff were very apologetic about it. (It turned out to be a false alarm.) Also, I arrived at the hotel, where the check in time is 3 pm, at 11 am. The front desk staff let me check in early for no extra charge! For the complementary breakfast situation, during COVID, they’re doing to-go bags with breakfast options of your choice, which you can bring up to your room or anywhere else to eat. In addition, this hotel is walking distance away from bus stops served by buses that take you to many points of interest. Even though the pool was closed when I stayed there, my travel companions and I had fun using the other amenities on the recreation floor. All in all, I recommend this hotel if you’re on a budget in Waikiki and you’re able to work with a small space.
