A hostel would be better than this condo complex. The air conditioner does not work. The washer and dryer are loud and falling apart. The shower burns you or is freezing. Only one elevator functions. They paint right outside occupied rooms in the middle of the day and paint gets on everything. The entrance is constant construction with no safe pedestrian entrance. The staff is barely available from 9 am to 2 pm. You must be very specific if you want a trolley for luggage because otherwise you won’t get one. Insufficient toilet paper. Get ready to take out your own trash and launder your own room. They should really have negative stars for this place

This review is written for our stay last week at Waikiki Shore, unit #1306. The location is great, right on the beach next to Fort Derussy Park and museum. If you have a car, parking is secure underground with a remote garage door opener. Parking fee is $35 per day and that is the standard rate. This building is a little older and from the outside isn't all that impressive but some of the units, these are condos, are very nice. Especially the ones that have been recently updated. Our unit was nicely decorated with a great view from a large patio with chairs. A lounge chair would have been nice but it did have several other chairs and stools. Inside the unit was nicefully furnished with most things you would need. In the kitchen, a couple sharper knives would have been nice. The bed was very firm and the first night felt really hard but we adjusted. It was especially noticeable because we stayed the previous week in another location that had a very plush comfortable bed. The one place we felt needed some work was the bathroom. The older toilet seat appeared to have been worn, or chipped, patched and repainted. Come on, $25 for a new seat?? The shower stall was in need of cleaning the mold around the edges/corners, and regrouting. Age was showing in the bathroom a bit. There were only 2 beach towels and even though there Is a washer/dryer, at least 4 would have been nice. One thing to remember is that these are condos and since each unit is owned by different people, they are all decorated differently and also different sizes. The people working the front desk were friendly and helpful but they do have limited hours of being open. I think it was 9 am to 8 pm. All in all, I would recommend this property and also this unit. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would return.

I’m conflicted with this review. The location was outstanding. Right in the beach. In the middle of Waikiki and all of the shops and nightlife. Views were amazing and they staff let me extend my late checkout to 5pm. The parking is very convenient under the hotel. Our room though felt like it was frozen in the late 80’s. I’m not sure anything had been updated and this may not be the case with all of the rooms. I’m guessing they are individually owned. If you live great views and the 80’s….room 1510 is your place!

First off I chose this hotel/condo because it had a full kitchen and right on the beach. .pros are location! With a store and steak place in the building! (To go steak and rice and salad for like 12.00 and was so good!) .great views we were on the 9th floor ..the beach and a park next door was just great! Cons are no housekeeping u have to was your own towels (washer and dryer in bathroom). Noone to even take the trash away!.. also the hours of guest services are terrible. Good luck finding anyone at the desk all Day! All in all it was a good trip just bring laundry stuff or head to walmart... oh and we had to pay 280.00 for housekeeping services..go figure

The view from my room was fabulous! Loved the Hawaiian subsets. Cono was clean and comfortable! Very affordable! The higher up you are the better the view! Excellent accommodation.

The parking at this property is atrocious. Do yourself a favor and buy a month long pass for the parking lot across the street for $195. If you’re staying 5-6 nights minimum it’ll be worth the hassle of the extremely tight spots that truly are for nothing more than a compact car. The Castle charges $35/night which seems like a bargain but it’s not if you have to park any vehicle of average size. I’ve driven for 35 years and never seen any parking garage so cramped.

Watch for hidden fees. Cleaning and parking to be specific. An extra $600.00 for our stay. And whoever took the room photo is an expert. Makes the rooms look way better and bigger. Only one elevator was working. The staff was great. Location was beautiful. I would stay again.

These condos are cheaper than a resort and you get a full kitchen area to cook your own food, so you're not spending all your money at the restaurants which will run about $100 per person. It's within walking distance of everything and its quite during the night. Also you get to see the Friday night fireworks from your own balcony.

You definitely need to verify the type of room you are getting, the pictures does not portrait the actual size and amenities you imagine you are getting, the view was ok, but we were very disappointed from the online pics to the real room, couldn't stay there, even having a good ocean view.

Amazing views - right next to the park, so no buildings are in the way. Big balcony with comfortable seating. Inside has spacious suite with kitchen, nice TV. Great location -- on the beach, near the restaurants/cafes/shops of Kalakaua Ave. Only complaint I had was the AC was difficult to operate with the remote -- it took until the next day to get a maintenance guy over to get ours working.

No a bad place to stay just way better options. Payed 1700 to stay in this place for 5 days no on site food,no pool ,horrible $35 a day parking for ridiculously small spaces. The room entrance code is unbelievably long, the pull out coach that was advertised didn't exist wait for the elevator way to long. At 6 the staff takes the beach chairs 😡😡 umm that's stupid. As guest are forced to get up and lay on the sand or leave . Umm it's a beach why have children's day care hours for chairs. Some dishes provided but most missing 1 wine glass 😮😮. Best part of the hotel was the manager super nice super helpful

We booked a ocean view studio #615 at the Wakiki Shores, Castle Resort. First the good, the condo was in a great location, walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. It was also on Wakiki Beach. There was a place to rent chairs and umbrellas an a coffee shop, shaved Ice stand and the Steak Shack (the food was delicious) Good security and parking available at a $35.00 a day. The condo had everything we needed and most importantly a kitchenette. washer and dryer. We had beautiful view of the park and ocean if we were on the balcony and it was clean; but, nothing fancy. Although the appliances and flooring were updated. The shower was small and most definitely needed to be replaced as well as new paint for the entire room. We were unable to enjoy the beautiful view because the blinds did not work (they neither open all the way or closed all the way) The sun was brutal in the afternoon and forget about sleeping in a dark room. We were given two sets of towels and no daily cleaning service ( which we knew when we booked) so we had to do laundry. The condo had everything thing we needed and when we ran out of paper products, toiletries, coffee and laundry detergent management was quick to replace. The bathroom sink was leaking and the toliet constantly ran. We advised the front desk staff they sent mantience to fix. All and all we would stay here again.

We loved the unit we were in. There were lots of great updates and it had an amazing view of both the ocean and the city. It felt a little odd that they asked us to wash all of the bedding and towels before we left, though. There was also some loud construction happening in the parking area. Getting in and out was rather uncomfortable for our ears.

This is my second extended stay here (3.5 months and 1 month) and I absolutely love it! The staff and security team are fantastic! The rooms are clean and the two that I stayed in had great views. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful! Would definitely stay again.

We had a great experience at this hotel. We stayed on the 12th floor with an ocean view which did not disappoint. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful with a their suggestions. This hotel sits in an extremely convenient location for beach access while also being just off the busy strip so crowds are at a minimum. One elevator was down for maintenance so there were some times we had to wait a bit between other guests and hotel staff. All in all I would love to come back and stay here again.

Stayed in penthouse 3. The room itself is fine for all of my needs - was clean, everything worked, and had anything I could need. The biggest problem which will prevent me from rebooking is that it REEKS of cigarettes during the day. Once everyone starts waking up, the room starts to smell. I assume it comes from the balconies below and to the sides, and possibly from the traffic on the ground floor. Nothing seemed to help. All doors and windows were closed, I closed the blinds, and even shut off the AC. My clothes, myself, and everywhere but the bathroom (furthest from the balcony) was engulfed.

Absolutely horrid people running Waikiki Short apartments. Racist people that don't want to be bothered with any questions. They treat people anyway they want because they are on the beach and no people will visit no matter how they are treated.

Great view from our room on 13th floor. Well kept. Was awesome waking up and going to sleep listen to the sounds of the ocean. Good price for location. Would stay here again

Horrible!! We paid very high price for a premium room and got far less than that!! One room with bed, kitchen, small dining table. Also a bathroom that was dirty!! We had to chase towels, garbage bags, and toilet paper. Extra $100 for room service to clean while we stayed there and a further $350 after we left!! When we arrived the elevator wasn't working and we were on the 13th floor!! You have to pay for beach lounges and umbrella to use the beach!! The staff that check you in are useless!! Could not darken the room to sleep. Pillows were so horrible and very old! The television was useless and half the time didn't work at all!! I could go on but can't be bothered it was just discusting!!

Good hotel. Nice rooms and the location was excellent. You can walk right out and be at the beach. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

  • 4/5 Erick J. 7 months ago on Google
The location is perfect, it's right in the middle of everything we wanted to do so almost everything was walking distance. The rooms varied substantially based on whether they had been renovated or not, but even the unreported rooms were just a bit run down. Our only issue was service - the lobby was shut down and the building is under reconstruction so it was very noisy, recently painted and a but difficult to navigate. This will change, I'm sure, once the renovation is done. The saving grace is that this resort is adjacent to the outrigger reef resort and we had easy access to the shops and restaurants at that facility, including an ABC store.

  • 5/5 Jennette B. 1 year ago on Google
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were in an AirBNB condo, so not necessarily affiliated with the hotel itself, but it was an enjoyable stay non-the-less. The location is PERFECT to walk to everything you need! There's an ABC store (grocery) that has essentials for your stay. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops. If you have a rental car, I HIGHLY recommend you get the parking included in the basement. Parking in and around the hotel is a pain in the butt. Just do it, trust me. The beach is a bit rocky, but if you're looking to just relax on the shore or dip your feet, it's perfect. We had some of the most spectacular views from our balcony. Saw a rainbow pretty much every day! I will give it 5 stars, however there were some issues: one of the only two elevators were broken while we were there and only having one functioning made it a pain to get down to the lobby or basement with so many people demanding the elevator. Hopefully anyone reading this will have 2 elevators for their stay. We did see some bugs in our room. Not sure if that's the tenets fault or the maintenance of the hotel itself. We also had no hot water the last 2 days of our trip which was a bummer after a day at the beach.

There is only one elevator in service (since at least November 2022), so it takes a while to get out. But the view is priceless. Kitchen amenities are average. No cookie sheet. I wanted to buy cookie dough and make cookies for Hubby. Laundry facility il right in the room. Hard to get through the lobby doors on my own in a mobility scooter. Very walkable, both for shopping and the beach. Museum right next door is closed until February 2023.

I was here with my family in room 1112 everything was very clean it has everything you need very good view of the ocean and the city everything is close to you beach shops bus stop I would love to stay here again only the bathtub is a bit stuffy I think It is because of the sand that they bring from the sea for that reason. They have a shower at the entrance of the condominium to remove the sand, but I loved everything, and my family recommended it.

PH room we had was great with an excellent view. Was nice to have a no frills hotel without all the people and wasted space. Needs to have a better way out of garage for checkout to turn in door opener though.. the road can get busy making it tough to go back to the front desk to turn in

Today there were painters outside and I ended up with wet paint on my new bathing suit. One of the two elevators has been down all day. The air conditioning does not work properly. The shower ranges from extreme cold and then too hot and back to cold again. Washing machine sounds like tha building will be falling down.

Location doesn't get any better. Clean, quiet room. Nice view, 4th floor has trees in the way but you can still see some of the beach and ocean.

  • 1/5 Chris H. 1 year ago on Google
Great view from 15th floor. Studio room was very small, old and poorly equipped. There was no housekeeping during the week, but there was a surprise cleaning fee for the little room of $291 !! Outrageous!

Stayed a week in September. Our room was nice. Tile throughout, stacked washer/dryer, dishwasher, full sized fridge, table for four and pretty much everything you need in the kitchen cabinets, even duplicates, like cutting boards, in case you don't want to cross contaminate your veggies. The sofa folded out and the boy was pretty stoked for such a big bed. He slept well. The restroom is large and has a 5x5ft. glass shower box. Over head rain shower AND the wand on a hose! But no seat and only one small shelf. No worries travel sized shampoo anyway! Single sink, plenty of countertop and drawers we didn't use. The toilet has a bidet, just sayin. The over the door AC didn't look promising, but it cooled us down right nice, too much at night in fact. Took a min to figure out the remote. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft. Five pillows were all good, for us, your milage may vary. The headboard was already like that when we got here for real. Oh yeah, there was a room divider in the wall, like back in school, that you can use for privacy from the bedroom to living room. There were two closets, one walk-in. More than we could use. The washer/ dryer worked as expected, no issues. There was a Tide sample there, but allergic so got our own. This is an apartment sized unit. 3 towels, maybe 4. No bedding will fit, maybe a sheet. I didn't come 2k miles for laundry anyways hahaha. Two elevators here. Kinda slow, but I may be impati. Reception was nice, as you'd expect, nice waiting area. Parking seemed adequate. The front lot was never full, didn't go downstairs. We walked or rode the bus no problem. Get a bus pass first day, they go everywhere and the wait between is minimal. Most tours pick you up. The view is amazing here. 6th floor overlooking the Army Museum and park with big 'ol hotels all lit up on the otherside and around the perimeter with the beach on the left. The sun sets straight out your room sized sliding doors. Wall to wall glass offer hours of looking. They have a solid blackout curtain though because Sun hotter in Hawaii. The balcony is the entire width with 2 tables and 4 chairs. Beach access is, first floor, walk towards water. Less than 5 min walk from anywhere on property to the water. Now hear this: There is coral in that there surf. We all got cut. There is sand for some feet then it drops into coral. Water shoes here for sure if your going out, but you're good up to you're waist here walkin after midnight. Suggestions: Brooms and dustpans, or Swiffers... something because sand and tile floor don't get along. Maybe a shoe carpet for when you first get in. But hey, it's the freakkin beach in Hawaii, you'll live haha Also, a variety of sundries for purchase or gratis in the lobby would help. Most people traveled here so it would make it easier if you're allergic to some soap or something. Dryer sheets would be good. Toothpaste, shampoo, idk. Just a side note: I wasn't expecting the windows on the door side to be frosted glass slats and was concerned initially. Unfounded. We had no issues beyond wear and tear. Be aware of how much you open them or your across neighbors might get more than they bargained for. There was a TV in room but we never turned it on, I assume it works. TLDR: Good room, great view, close to everything, solid bathroom. Will be back 🤙

Hi Donna, (condo 805) > First of all the condo was as described. The view from the balcony is beautiful.  However, the condo fan blades have layers of dirt and dust. > > The bed headboard is covered in dust. The pillow top mattress has seen better days. The mattress sags in on both sides when laying down.  It's like sleeping in a sunken hole. Extremely uncomfortable. > > Under the bed are dust bunny's and sand. The kitchen cupboards have food crumbs and other food stuff. > > The latch on the patio sliding door is inoperable. The slider will not lock. > > The tub drains water very slowly. > > Pigeons nesting on the balcony. The first 2 mornings around 3am we were woken up by 2 very loud pigeons on the balcony. > > The pigeons were nesting behind the air-conditioner on the balcony.  On day 3, I discovered a pigeon egg under the beach chairs. > > I need to bring this issue to your attention concerning the couple in condo 806. > > I came to know Randy, building manager well after 4 days. He was very professional and responsive to our concerns. > > Condo 806 > The first night was loud music and cigar smoke coming from condo 806. Our common wall was vibrating from the bass in the music. > > We had to keep the balcony sliding door closes for hours due to the cigar smoke. Randy addressed the issue. > > Condo 806 > Day 2 we were woken up by the female in condo 806 screaming, crying, and yelling with the male . Furniture  noise and her running in the Condo. > > I have 30 years of experience  responding  to domestic violence  calls for service. > > It was a domestic argument and possible physical altercation.  Randy and the 806 condo manager confronted the occupants in condo 806. Randy attempted  to call Honolulu Police Department.  No response. > > Last night around 8:30pm the male and female in condo 806 for a second time began to argue and another domestic altercation. I called Randy.  Building security and 2 Honolulu Police Officers arrived. The female in condo 806 was escorted from the room for the night. > > It has been an interesting 4 days. > > The Outrigger  construction has been very loud with plenty of construction dust due to the jackhammering of the concrete. > > If the construction had been disclose concerning the major construction we would not have stayed in either building or area.

Rude construction workers made for a horrible experience. Went here for a staycation, they did not mention that the entire front of the hotel, was demolished. Rude construction workers refusing to let us pass into the hotel saying not their problem. Would rather have paid a little more somewhere else not to have to deal with such a hassle.

Great place to stay. Close to literally everything. Parking is expensive. So we paid for a month for the parking lot across the street.
