Let me start by saying we really enjoyed our stay at Lotus Honolulu. I recommend it and would definitely stay there again gladly. People who know what to expect should have a great time here. Things we loved: -Parking is included in the resort fee! Saved us a lot of headaches. -Excellent, helpful, friendly staff. -Stunning views. -The best location for people wanting to be close to amenities but not in the madness that is Waikiki. -Just a few steps to the beach where you can swim and snorkel. -Espresso maker, small fridge and microwave in room. -SUPER comfy bed and pillows. The not so great: -The rooms are nice, but old, basic and just a little run down. -The walls are paper thin (bring ear plugs). Laying on the bed in our room, I could hear water splashing in the shower in the room next to us. -If you have a maintenance issue on a Sunday you are out of luck. Their one maintenance person is off on Sundays. -A lot of the parking spaces are under tress so your rental car will be covered in bird poo. -A tad expensive for the quality of room (and we got a VERY reasonable rate all things considered). These things were worth it for the location and views. :)

this place is a complete mess on every level. The first thing I noticed when I stepped in the room was the view, and that was nice. But then I noticed how dirty and run down the room was. I do not understand how they can claim they sanitized it considering the condition. I suppose part of the issue is how old the building is. The staff were all friendly and polite but it seemed like their hands were tied by an absentee owner. Major maintenance problems; the vents are falling apart, dirt and crud was falling out of several of them. Furniture all had a layer of grime or stains. At one point I returned to find the bathroom ceiling vent had actually fallen out and there was black mold or whatever that was all over the floor. The ceiling fixture itself is a complete facade. You can see in my photo, it's just all mold and nastiness up there. They really trying to say that is a ventilation system? This place is also weirdly noisy; huge booms of furniture being thrown and dragged around all night long. They were letting people have what they called 'after work get together' in the room upstairs at 1 am. It went on until 4 am. They didn't shut it down. Sounded like a dozen people. I did call the front desk a few times and the responses were not what I would expect from a four star hotel. I would advise against staying here, they never followed up with me. Would not risk it if I were you.

I can’t express how incredible our stay was at the Lotus Honolulu. The staff went absolutely above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I had a last minute idea to write “happy bday” in rose petals on the bed for my boyfriend. And even though they don’t offer that service normally, they said if I went and got some petals they would take care of it. After searching for petals, I could only find bouquets of roses. They offered to HAND PLUCK each rose petal and take care of the rest. When we came back to our room, it was absolutely astounding. It was perfectly written on the bed and they arranged the leftover petals in the most beautiful ways. I will never stay anywhere else in Oahu, this place is heaven, not to mention the incredible views of Diamond Head. WE LOVE THE LOTUS!!!!

I enjoyed the Lotus so much! I had a "high floor ocean view" room which had a spectacular view including Diamond Head. I'm originally from Hawaii & I chose the Lotus for its ideal location away from busy Waikiki yet close to everything I like in Honolulu & for daily walks & swims at the beach. The parking is great. Easy to get in & out quickly from the parking lot. This is not the case with most hotels in Waikiki. This hotel is upscale yet down to earth & casual. Definitely will stay again!

The Lotus has it all. It is located in a nice and relatively calm neighborhood with a great view of Diamond Head. There is a semi-secluded beach about 30 yards from the hotel lobby. Christeann and other hotel staff were extremely helpful and attentive with all requests. There is a self parking lot that is safe and convenient. There is a convenient store and coffee shop within a 50 yards from the hotel lobby. The filtered water available in the lobby is a nice touch. The lobby is also very comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is quiet and I heard little, if any, street noise.

I really enjoyed this hotel, everything was comfortable, but didn't feel dated or old, and was very spacious. The balcony opened with two wide patio doors and could be left that way (though beware of birds), with a great bistro set to sit and relax. I spend a good amount of our hotel time sitting out here reading and enjoying the breeze, great because the above balcony offers shade, but you still get the sound and breeze of the beach. The other wall also had a sliding patio door so you could basically open two whole walls to the breeze, it was FANTASTIC. Slept great, not super loud even on the side by the road, and staff was always friendly, smiling, and welcoming.

We were paid $1500 for a two bedroom suite. Which is fine if the hotel had any amenities. It doesn’t have a pool, a restaurant, just a one person front desk. Zero view on the ocean. Very little parking. We were suppose to stay 4 nights but we just stayed one. The location is not near restaurants. If you want to walk through a parking lot and drag you beach chair chair over. Not what I thought I was getting us. We moved down got two rooms overlooking the beach near restaurant, house keeping everyday without asking for it. All the amenities you could ask for and much more. I never do reviews. But after not reading the reviews before booking I had to put my two sense in. It is clean.

WOW! Ya know, customer service goes a very long way with me. You’re treated so well from the moment you arrive. The premium ocean view king room is better than the pictures. It’s very cozy, plenty of space, the AC works great, and the views are incredible! Solid location too. It’s about 3/4 a mile down the road from Waikiki with an easy walk, but there’s access to the best swimming beach that allows fantastic snorkeling. The beach is only like 300 feet from the facility and the access is super easy so don’t trip on the other reviews. I’d 100% stay here again. They offer free parking for all guests too!

Excellent hotel for the price point. Friendly and helpful staff. Cleaned room and replenished espresso daily. Nice beach chairs and towels to borrow are included. No pool but very short walk to beaches. Quiet and LARGE lanai (balcony). On 7th floor had wonderful view of both Diamond head and ocean. Ten minute walk to downtown and awesome convenience store only steps away. Across street from park. Very quiet area compared to one mile away in Waikiki. We really enjoyed our stay.

This was a really excellent value boutique hotel near Diamond Head. The view from our room and balcony of the crater was incredible (though be aware that it's definitely more crater-facing than ocean facing). There's no pool, but it's steps from two very nice beaches, which we really enjoyed (especially at sunset!). They have really excellent amenities for the price - we loved that parking was included, wine tasting was complimentary and we had a blast renting the free bikes and biking around Waikiki and the crater!(Though the bikes definitely could have used better maintenance, we got a flat on one and the pedal fell off on the other). We were bummed that the restaurant was closed while we stayed, but they offered discounts at some nearby restaurants to make up for it (including DECK which we loved). If you're looking for a 'resort'-style experience to lounge and sip Mai Tais at the pool, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a base while exploring Oahu that's close enough to the sights while away from the madness of Waikiki that's a good value, this is the place!

We loved staying at the Lotus! The employees are so friendly and helpful. They were all so nice to talk to! I loved the location as it was on Waikiki, but is located at the end so it's a lot more quiet. It can be argued that the Lotus is worth 5 stars, but I couldn't do it because unfortunately, it is not located on the beach and does not have a pool or hot tub. There isn't much they can do to change that and they have done their best to make it the best it can be. They also have a fine dining restaurant that only serves dinner, so other meals were in town. There is a small beach they have access to and they provide beach chairs which was fantastic. They also serve complimentary wine in the afternoon and have bicycles to borrow to ride around town. Rooms are spacious, updated and very clean - they also have a great view of Diamond Head and some water views. I would absolutely recommend the Lotus to friends and will definitely return in the future. It was a great week!

The location is amazing. Far enough away from the main Waikiki area that you don't deal with the noise or crowds, but still close enough that it's a 10-15min (scenic) walk to get there. If you're like me and prefer peace and quiet over being in the center of the action on trips, this is the spot for you. The views were amazing. I was on a low floor and still had beautiful views of Diamond Head then moved up when I extended my stay and wowww. Spectacular views. The beds are so comfy. I always have issues sleeping in hotels, but no issue here. The staff is extremely nice and made everything easy. The gym is perfect for any vacation workouts, but it's also right next to a huge park that has some outdoor equipment and tennis courts. The only drawback was the elevator took awhile since there was only one shared for all floors. But, everything else more than made up for that and it didn't really bother me. I'd still go back to this hotel.

The spirit of Aloha is firmly in place at The Lotus. The smiles as we drove into the Valet parking area, to the our first moment in the lobby with the Check in desk were wide and genuine. The people working at the Lotus are truly stoked to be working where they do. Be aware that they are no longer offering free parking, even though you may find past advertisements and reviews saying the opposite. We loved our room especially with a view of Diamond Head. The hotel is situated away from the normal hustle and bustle of Waikiki- we loved the more quiet and relaxed ambiance. The food at their restaurant is a delectable treat to the senses. You will love staying at the Lotus. We did!

Very nice clean hotel. If you're spending on/booking a partial ocean view, you may as well go the extra $$'s and just get the full ocean view. Wish I had. It's charming that they have cute little bikes available to take for a ride. The staff are super courteous, friendly. You pick up on the vibe immediately. Great location across from the park. Lots of people jogging by and walking dogs. One thing from previous reviews...I didn't see a garbage dumpster out front! It's a nice area further down from all the hustle and bustle and traffic.

Wonderful stay! The staff were superstars. Christieann was a ray of sunshine that greeted us every morning with an “aloha and good morning” and in the afternoon with a “aloha, welcome home.” The decor was beautiful and every area was spotless. The balcony views were amazing. It was peaceful and quiet - no crowded hustle and bustle of Waikiki. But you could walk there in 10-15 minutes. The beaches were steps away and the hotel provided beach chairs and towels. All in all, our first time to Honolulu was perfect, thanks to them. I would come back again in a heartbeat!

The Lotus Honolulu was recommended to me, and I can't wait to recommend it to my friends and family. It's located at the very end of Waikiki so it's very quiet and understated, which is what I prefer. The hotel staff is wonderful. The room is spacious and comfortable. We had a spectacular view of Diamond Head. Kaimea beach is just around the corner and it's perfect for play or a swim. I even saw turtles out there! There are great restaurants in the hotel and nearby. I would absolutely book at Lotus again if I travel to Oahu.

For our first night in Honolulu before heading to the Big Island, the Lotus was perfect. Located in a quieter area, but very convenient to the busier sections of Waikiki. We had a beautiful view of Diamond Head from our balcony and partial view of the ocean. Very comfortable beds and a fairly spacious room for the price. We did get down to the very small but lovely beach, although we didn't get a chance to swim. A shout-out to Zee for recommending Bogart's for breakfast, a great little cafe diagonally across the park -- the real bonus was getting some new birds on my Life list while walking there! (Also try House Without a Key for a drink in the lap of luxury.) Highly recommend the Lotus if you're looking for a good value in a quieter piece of the city.

This was a fabulous stay. It was greatly marred by one person person working there at guest services named Christiane. She was pleasant the first day but when I asked one question of her on the phone the next day she talked over me. Was extremely rude, dismissive and argumentative. I didn't let it ruin my trip, but I avoided her for the rest of the time. Every other person at the hotel was above average in service and attitude. They made it a wonderful wonderful trip. The hotel is beautiful. The amenities great. I loved the bikes. The room was beautiful and cleaned daily. Perfect service.

My love took me here to the Lotus for an overnight staycation and it was absolutely amazing. This hotel has a rare unique understated cool vibe to it which makes you want to stay longer. They provide tasty espresso to help you wake up and enjoy the day, their valet service is great, front desk staff is very hospitable and friendly, shower products and toiletries that are provided are great...all around a great hotel with stores, restaurants, and of course a ton of beautiful beaches within walking distance. We'll definitely be staying here again!

The staff at the Lotus are super friendly and helpful. Easily the best staff we have ever encountered at a hotel. Great staff recommendations for restaurants and attractions. No breakfast onsite so be prepared to walk for food. The room was very nice, clean and we had a great view of diamond head and the ocean. Use the beach down by the aquarium as it is larger and a bit nicer than the one by the hotel. Overall very good location and a great value for the Waikiki area.

Very nice small hotel near Diamond head and away from the main group of hotels in Waikiki. We were on a lower floor and still had a beautiful view. Nicely furnished room, very quiet. The only negative worth noting is the lack of moderately priced dining options. Affordable options require a 15 minute walk to the main drag of Waikiki. There is a well stocked convenience store next door.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. You have the beautiful ocean views without feeling like you have tourists all over your hotel. It's quiet and the staff is extremely nice. There is a restaurant in the hotel but I did not go however, it seems to be very popular. They also have bike rental, beach towels, and beach chairs. The beach itself is right behind the parking lot and the parking is included with your stay! One really cool feature they have is a water dispenser that gives you clean cold water anytime you want it. The hotel even provides metal bottles for you to use then take home. I am looking forward to coming back and enjoying my stay. The location is everything here!

We loved our stay at the Lotus. The location is great, we loved that it’s on the quieter side of the Waikiki area. The beaches are beautiful and we also have a small private beach behind the hotel. The room is clean and we were provided some extras without charges (bikes, beach chairs…) which are great. The highlights of our stay are the front desk staffs. They are amazing, super kind and helpful folks. Everyone really strives to make sure we enjoy our stay. We got help from Cody, James, Trevor, Christiann and Melissa during our stay, they are fantastic and they really made our stay special. We got to chat with them almost everyday about our fun activities and asked them for recommendations, they really showed that they are interested. Definitely recommend this hotel for your visit!

There was a miscommunication and we ended up with one bed rather than 2 beds as originally requested. Room service was very efficient in bringing us a twice size cot for the night and when I followed up the next day, they offered me and my friend a free upgrade to a higher level room with 2 separate beds. The resort fee covers for beach towels and beach chairs which is fantastic and the location is great for a hotel not be in the middle of all the craziness of Wikiki but close enough to everything if we want to venture out. Will definitely consider staying there again on my next visit.

Really nice place! A little outside the super busy Waikiki area, but still within walking distance of everything. Rooms/hotel are a little older, but still nice. Great amenities and FREE PARKING. Also free drinks in the afternoon for a bit. Very nice and helpful staff too. Pretty reasonable prices too.

We can never thank the staff at Lotus Honolulu for our stay here! We spent the last half of our honeymoon here and it was amazing, beautiful views, comfortable, spacious. The food at the restaurant was great, it was a perfect location that was quiet but close to everything and we loved the beach chairs and car rental. We had to extend our stay due to a medical emergency and we could not have felt more cared for by Christie Ann and everyone at the front desk. Five stars are not enough, you have fans and our sincere gratitude for life!

Wonderful hotel! The front desk staff are always so kind and helpful. Rooms are beautiful. Great location. Free parking. Complimentary wine every day! Loved the coffee, having beach chairs and towels to use, and our Lotus water bottle to take home as a souvenir!

The room was spacious and comfortable, the location is great and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. When our plans changed at the last minute, Christie Ann did a wonderful job in extending our reservation. All the staff did a great job helping us with whatever we needed. We will certainly stay at the Lotus during future visits.

There's nothing quite like making a 16 hour trip and arriving at a hotel where you truly feel welcomed and that you can relax. From the moment we stepped in, all the staff were so kind and helpful. Miss Jessica, in particular, who greeted us upon arrival, was very kind, answered all our questions, helped us get settled, and took care of us throughout our entire stay. Carly Clement, the manager, was kind enough to help me book our stay after my initial reservations with another resort fell through, and even upgraded us to a room with ocean views. The site is lovely and the amenities are amazing! We made use of the bikes they had for guest use throughout the day, and often ended our day in the restaurant where we enjoyed complimentary wine and delightful conversations with the bartenders and waitstaff. If I ever find myself back in Honolulu, I'll be looking forward to staying at the Lotus again!

We loved Lotus Honolulu! The wonderful things about this hotel: Super friendly staff (they remember your name!); beach chairs and towels; spacious lanais; close to wonderful beach (Sans Souci?); amazing views of Diamond Head; close to Waikiki beaches, wonderful walks with friendly people everywhere you go. The not-so-perfect aspects that might bother some people: Slow elevator (no big deal); street noise but walls are very thick and unless we were outside on the lanai or walking along the walkway, noise didn't bother us; not on the beach (but close); larger hotels along the beach block beach views (but no big deal). We loved our stay but the hotel is not perfect for folks who want beachfront and modern, up-to-date elevators, stairways, etc. But again, all the "cons" cannot outweigh the wonderful aspects of this small, friendly, almost perfectly located hotel.

We loved our stay at Lotus. Amazing upper room with view of Diamond Head. Park nearby made it feel away from big city. Friendly staff. They lent us good beach chairs for the day. Bed was comfortable. A very nice place to stay in Waikiki as a base for discovering Oahu

  • 5/5 Timothy B. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent hotel with thoughtful, friendly staff. This is a much more personal hotel than most of the hotels on Waikiki in that it isn't the type of place that large tour groups would go to; so if you like personal attention and dislike big groups of noisy people, this could be the place for you. The rooms are tastefully done and super clean. We stayed on two different occasions so we had two different rooms, both with stunning views of the outside of the crater at Diamond Head and the associated beautiful park across the street. Because this is a small hotel, they aren't able to store luggage, so if you are island-hopping do not plan leaving some of your bags here. I highly recommend this hotel to discerning travelers who are looking for actual quality without random glitz such as three-story-high entries and uniformed bell captains. Aloha :-)

The hotel's location is great, and that is what you are paying for. There is really nothing special about this hotel, some aspects like bathrooms need an update, the restaurant only does dinner so you need to make a breakfast plan which will take you outside the hotel. You are paying to be on the beach in Honolulu. I like that it is at the quieter end, away from some of the noise and crowds, but for the cost I was hoping for something a little more special and refined. I will not seek out this hotel again.

  • 5/5 Beth S. 2 years ago on Google
The room was spacious and the view we requested at purchase matched the description online. It was amazing! The staff went above and beyond for us. We misunderstood the housekeeping schedule (which was that they would clean your room every third day) and we requested daily cleanings after each night's stay. Even though it wasn't policy, the staff cleaned our room. They totally didn't have to do this but they did it anyway and we appreciate them appeasing us! Staff at the desk were amazing as well and greeted us each day by name and with a warm smile which is impressive considering they (and us) wore face masks! I highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

I enjoyed staying here. The room was comfortable and clean. There is a coffee machine, microwave and fridge in the room. It was a much quieter stay than other hotels in waikiki but still walkable to the beach, restaurants and shops. I would love to stay here again if I return to this area again.

Well It’s not French. It’s seems like a fusion style with more emphasis on Indian than French. Escargot should be snails instead they served inexpensive shrimp and charge like it is snails. The onion soup taste like tomato base and chicken broth. No onions what do ever. No Cheese or bread. Just broth. The Indian curry was nice. Which you would hope as I was told the chef was Indian not French. The risotto was nice taste a little wet but still a nice taste. Something to help like bread would have been nice to use for assistance to your spoon. The mango kulfi was a popsicle. I probably would not visit here again as I would desire French food which is what made me choose the place in the first place. As Yelp and open table listed it as French. It’s not French

Overall we had a lovely stay at the Lotus and would recommend to anyone. I read reviews and really appreciate when people break them down. The pros and rating speak for themselves, but I will explain my cons so you have a better perspective. Pros: the staff, the staff, the staff – I cannot speak highly enough at how friendly the staff is! The hotel and rooms are lovely and clean. Loved the espresso machine, bath products. Location is fabulous for the price. You can walk out to beaches on any side of the hotel and you’re about a half a mile from restaurants and basic shops. The complimentary robes, beach towels, chairs, and bikes are nice touches. Very COVID compliant. Within biking distance to some of the best fish/shrimp tacos we’ve ever had (South Shore Grill, Paia). Cons: I still haven’t quite figured it out, but I signed an agreement at check-in that I would pay additionally for nightly parking REGARDLESS if I had a car. This was weird to me, because parking should be complimentary and we only were going to have a car for our last night. There was so much going on during our stay that I forgot to ask about this later, and once I remembered post check-out, it didn’t sit well with me. So keep it in the back of your mind when checking in. The wind was crazy loud. It wasn’t that bad on the ground, but in the rooms, it was like a hurricane. No idea why. Maybe it was just our room location. Bring ear plugs if you’re a sensitive sleeper. Yes they have complimentary bikes, but they only have 3. It’s first come first serve. And they could use a tune up. Your plan B is a bike-share location about a half a mile down the road. Oh, and it’s illegal to bike on side-walks so...get mentally ready to be on the street. And lastly, the TVs are pretty dated. This is hopefully the least of your priorities though 😊
