We were spending 5 nights in Oahu for the 2nd half of our honeymoon. This hotel was recommended to us by a friend. Little did we know, this hotel is more like a trendy nightclub than a romantic getaway (not the hotel's fault though). We went up the escalator to the hotel lobby and music was blaring and bumping from the restaurant. The front desk staff said they have this live music nightly. The hotel had a trendy little New York City feel- the younger party crowd would appreciate it more. It did not make us feel like we were in Hawaii. We got upgraded to a junior suite which was thoughtful. but had a view of a parking garage and a back alley. The room was clean and updated, and the decor was fun. The real bummer though was valet parking only. We were planning on coming and going frequently as we rented a car and wanted to explore the island. We booked through Costco and the hotel amenities stated self parking was available- maybe they used to have it? Anyway, not what we were looking for at all for our trip. We were thankful to be able to get a partial refund after the first night and we switched to the Waikiki Beach Marriott which is right on the beach and has that romantic Hawaii feel...would recommend that 100% unless you prefer the young, NYC, party vibe for your stay.

Pros: 1. Walkable to Waikiki and other restaurants near there. It is super close to international market place. 2. They have a few programs throughout the day you can enjoy for free. 3. They provide free beach towels whenever you ask, just drop them off at the lobby before heading to your room. 4. When you go up to your room after check-in, there is a welcome basket with their signature (two) flip-flops, chocolates, bottles of water and etc. Cons: 1. They don't have ice and water machine in every floor but just one in the 1st floor so you have to go down every single time. 2. They don't have self-parking but its all valet parking that charges nearly $50 overnight. (Plus you have to tip them every time you get your car out.) 3. Water pressure is not that strong. Despite the cons, our family enjoyed staying there and are willing to stay if we visit Oahu again.

Best hotel experience we have had since pandemic. Housekeeping is great, same time, very clean and always clean towels. Everyone who works there is super helpful. The vallet is busy but super convenient right at bottom of escalator. Busy area but super safe and next to really fun places! Love getting free sparkling water every morning!

Loved the location of the Laylow Hotel. Its very central to the heart of Waikiki and next to the International market place so there’s a bunch of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel only has valet which is convenient but it’s $49 a night. Very easy to call from your room and then your car will be ready within 10-15 minutes much better than looking for parking if you ask me. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was very curious about the set up since my room had two kings although the room seemed kind of tight it still was a lot of room had a desk, nice sized closet and very large bathroom. Beautifully decorated, very clean, very comfortable bed, nice sized balcony overlooking the pool. Appreciated the welcome gift which had snacks hand sanitizer and even two pairs of flip-flops. Pool is a little small but nice lounging area. The beach is nearby so didn’t mind that much. They also have some hotel activities lei making, ukulele lessons, shaved ice by the pool. They also have a water filling station for room temp, cold and and sparking water which was unique. As a Marriott titanium member I received vouchers for daily breakfast which is always a plus. The restaurant Hideout also has a happy hour and live music. An even bigger plus. Overall I enjoyed my stay and definitely would go back.

We had a great time at the Laylow Autograph Hotel! Everything was clean, and comfortable each day when we returned back to the hotel! Love the 2 king size beds!! We never had that option before! Wished they were a bit more firm though. The reception workers were very welcoming and pleasant! Love their free icy at 1-2pm which we thought was a great and fun added experience for all ages! We love the gift basket they provided to welcome us! The slippers were super useful and a great added memorabilia! We felt relaxed and the rooms were quite soundproofed as we couldn’t hear our neighbour’s at all!😄 Best of all their air conditioners worked really well!! The hotel is at a very central location close to everything within walking distance! We didn’t get any views in our room unfortunately but, overall thanks for a great time!!😄

We arrived after a very long journey to a lobby full of drunk people screaming. We were told no housekeeping was available and this was the “standard at all Marriott hotels” which I know isn’t correct because I just came from a Marriott hotel that fully serviced the rooms. Anyway, we booked and paid for a 550sq ft suite, we were told we were upgraded to that room when we checked in, which also isn’t accurate. We checked in online to request a high floor and sure enough we arrived to a room that stared at a parking garage and is not suitable for a five night full price stay. Suzanna the manager on duty could not have been any less accommodating. I’ve never seen a manager in the hospitality industry try so little to retain a customer. She said there was nothing she could do. Even though they were “sold out” which would mean she should have some kind of flexibility for a goodwill gesture she still did not do a single thing. I asked her if she would call another hotel and she begrudgingly called another Bonvoy property but again no effort was made. So in the end, the two of us who are both gold members left the check in desk and departed the hotel. This is my first visit to Hawaii, a place that was once known as welcoming. I will never forget this horrendous experience. When I asked for the contact details/card for the general manager I was denied them! Honestly, I’ve never heard of that. I hope someone who cares about customers reads this review. But for us, it’s a total hard pass on this property and buyer beware———

This hotel is in a fantastic location. They do charge a destination fee per night, even after redeeming a substantial amount of points for the stay, but the good news is that breakfast is included. Regrettably, we encountered an issue with housekeeping during our stay, resulting in the loss of valuable items because the room door was left partially open. While this may not be a common experience for most guests, it happened to us, and it was quite unfortunate.

A nice little boutique hotel that is still part of the Bonvoy group. Very friendly and accommodating staff. When you get to your room there is a nice amenity selection for you. I travel over half the month and the best part for me is that the rooms really are clean. Not like many hotels that only superficially clean. You can see they really do a good job. Even the glasses in the room are sealed in plastic wrapping. The furniture is well kept. The only unfortunate thing is that most rooms have a view of a parking lot.

Such an amazing place! 6 of us travelled here 4 adults and 2 children and had 2 King size rooms. The hotel is clean and everyone is so friendly. The kids loved the pool (of course) and the shaved ice every day was amazing. Everything about our experience was fantastic. The food and coffee at the hideaway restaurant was phenomenal. Plus kids crafts every day and live music weekend evenings! I would absolutely travel here again and I am recommending this place to all of my friends. Thank you for a great stay!

Great location if you want to be by the shops and not the beach. For a two week vacation I start here and then stay at the beach for the last week prior to my departure. Hotel has a great atmosphere and the hideout food is great! The food has changed in the last year (not as good) but still better than most hotel food.

My sons and I stayed here for 4 nights in a corner room with three beds. The room was very good for our needs - it even had two balconies! The restaurant (The Hideout) was a very busy place but that could very well have been the COVID-19 protocols that they were implementing (i.e. limited seating). We tried to get seating but never could. Very friendly, helpful and professional front reception staff! As we did not use any housekeeping for our short stay (except to get some more towels and soap), I can't give any feedback about that. Excellent location and that was a major consideration for us.

An awesome hotel. Our stay was terrific, and we stayed for a week. We spent our 35th wedding anniversary here, and loved every moment of it. The staff, location, room, and food, just 5 star and above. We didn't have wine glasses, and they were graciously provided for us, with a smile. Even though we had purchased the wine bottle from elsewhere. I highly recommend this hotel. When next in Waikiki, we'll be back. Thank you for an unforgettable stay.

So near the beach, restaurants, shopping malls, convenient stores. Guests are given a welcome basket filled with local goodies upon arrival. The room was very spacious with 2 balconies. Great bed such that one can sleep well. The gym is well equipped, open 24/7. One can enjoy a swim in the pool, or just sun bathe. There is a hydration station where one can fill up reusable water bottle with chilled, sparkling or room temperature water at lobby level. A microwave and ice machine are located beside the hydration station. The gift shop is opened 8am - 4pm. Different daily activities are planned for guests to participate, 10am -11am. As we went out visiting, we only took part in 2 such activities - arts and craft + lei making.Free High speed WiFi is available in the lounge and room. One can bring postcards to the front desk for complimentary postage. HIDEOUT, the restaurant+ bar is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Shaved ice is provided free of charge to guests from 1pm - 2 pm.

This is my second time at the Lay low Hotel. The staff is excellent and very helpful when dealing with flight times that aren’t exactly ordinary. The pool area is great, but can get a little windy and shady at times since it’s between a parking garage and the hotel. Great access to the beach and main roads. Easy to get out of town to explore more of the island.

This hotel has some serious flaws and made our stay very stressful: 1. The parking under the hotel is terrible. There was a lot of random items around. One stall was full of empty TV boxes, and the other was full of dirty towels. The garage has very low overhead clearance and several parking stalls have lower than normal pipes which aren't marked. there were a lot of dirty puddles in parking area. The parking spaces are very few. We had to park at the International Market and walk to the hotel everyday, which was very inconvenient especially when we had to carry groceries and walk to the hotel in the rain. The hotel charged us $39 parking fee daily. 2. There was no table in the room. When our family ordered take-out, we had to put food around the TV set. 3. There was no Micro-wave in the room. If we want to warm up the food, we had to take the elevator to the 1st floor. There was one and the only one Micro-wave for the whole 16-floor building. 4. There was no coffee maker in the room. Unlike other hotels which either provides coffee maker in the room or free coffee in the lobby, this hotel provided none. If you would like coffee in the morning you need to stand in line at the coffee bar with all the other guests and pay $6.00 +. 5. The noise from outside is so loud and It is impossible to relax in the balcony. 6. Comparing to other 4 star hotels nearby such as "Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort" which offered their guests parking garage, beach view, and a lot of fun activities, this hotel offered none. This hotel is expensive for nothing.

Clean rooms, incredibly polite staff and wonderful location. We unexpectedly ended up here during a house repair and this property is delightful. Beautiful causal Hawaiian details. While parking isn’t the most optimal for overflow it’s less than a block away and it’s very spacious for larger vehicles and plentiful. Enjoying our stay and loving the aloha.

Had a great stay at the laylow. We stayed for 5 nights and would definitely come back. Staff were helpful and very friendly and the room was modern and clean and very comfortable. We loved hanging by the pool and relaxing, the amenities and of course Hideout! The gift basket on arrival was a nice surprise and we enjoyed the daily free activities in reception. The hotel is in a great location and the concierge is super helpful if you need assistance or ideas for activities.

The staff have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel is clean and well maintained. It's a quick walk to the beach and plenty of shopping and dining options. We will definitely stay here again.

Just came for my honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Everyone was so kind and welcoming. They have daily shaved ice, snacks, and mini mocktails for free. The entire facility is very clean and attractive. The Hideout Restaurant was so so delicious we had the majority of our meals here! The only downsides are valet parking is mandatory and costs $53 a day and there’s no room service so if you do order from the restaurant you have to go down and get it yourself. But I’d still stay here again!

Very friendly staff - some of the most friendly and accommodating I have met in Waikiki! Enjoyed the pool side mock-tails and shave ice. The welcome basket was also very nice. That Hawaiian chocolate is amazing! Would definitely stay here again!

Love this hotel. Very clean, cool vintage Endless Summer vibe. Outstanding service from bell , front desk, housekeeping, coffee counter. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to work there and excellent reflection of management . We love the hydration station , pool and best location. Very safe and felt like home. This will be our hotel now going to Oahu from now on.

Great location, excellent service, good food, short walk to the beach and so many restaurants close by. Joey at the reception was absolutely delightful and Fuschia at the Hideout was so friendly. The gift basket had such thoughtful items and we loved it. The only let downs were the lack of tea items in the room and the shower was lukewarm. Overall, I would recommend!

Wow. Pretty nice. Rooms are clean and bright but the service is top notch. Valet is quick and hotel couldn't be better situated to enjoy everything Waikiki has to offer. Comparably quiet for being in the center of a noisy area as well.

This hotel is simply amazing , clean spacious rooms conveniently located just off the main strip for all the best food and shopping on Waikiki. Nearby Island adventure tours , surfing lessons what ever your pleasure. The Lay Low staff were extremely accommodating always very helpful . The restaurant offers great service, delicious food and drink. Craft classes for the kids , snow cones & a salt water pool. Best little secret in paradise! I look forward visiting again soon.

This boutique hotel made my family's trip with their amazing service, convenient location in the heart of Waikiki, but value price. Clean rooms, we had a decent view of the Friday night fireworks. Happy hour and live music were great! And who can't forget about the free shaved iced and poolside activities! Definitely will be staying here again.

We loved our stay at the Laylow! We went with adults, teens, kids, and a baby and everyone had a great time. The pool is so relaxing, the staff is super friendly, the location is amazing, the rooms were big and clean! I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel!

As a first time guest in Hawaii, this resort stay made it 100% worth it. The atmosphere, the staff, the location, and the valet were amazing. Our room itself was beautiful and the housekeeping service was phenomenal. I could not have thought of a better place to stay. The valet was on the pricey side, but the staff was so great that it made it worth it. Will be coming back!

We only had breakfast at this establishment. Breakfast was fast, convenient, yummy, and decently priced! you walk up, order, sit, and have it delivered. The restaurant is a little hard to spot if you don't know it is there. We liked it so much we will back.

Great hotel with excellent amenities. The pool and gym were in great condition. The rooms were very nice also. Caitlyn at the front desk was amazing. I can’t remember the last time I experienced such good service anywhere. She even remembered our names and room numbers during our whole stay. The in-room gift basket was a nice surprise. This place surpassed my expectations and I would definitely stay here again on another visit to Honolulu. One complaint - I was not impressed with the breakfast we had at the restaurant (Hideout). It was mediocre and expensive, but the coffee was good. I would explore elsewhere for food, which is not difficult as the location is right in Waikiki.

We have visited Hawaii twice and stayed at The Laylow both times. The hotel has maintained its high standard during the pandemic and keeps the rooms extra clean. The location is simply unbeatable. You are a block away from the beach, shopping and restaurants but still get to enjoy the quietness in the evening. The only caveat is that parking is valet only and costs $49/night. We are very happy with our stay and would recommend it to anyone!

LOVED this place!! Nicest staff ever. Very clean room. Super convenient location (Starbucks Reserve and the International Market Place both next door, beach is an easy walk). Restaurant has terrific food, we ate breakfast here every morning. Thank you to Ashley, the front office manager, for her amazing customer service and her professional, friendly, and efficient team. We will always stay here for all subsequent visits.

The staff here were incredibly kind and helpful! The pool is beautiful, as well as the open air lobby area. Great fitness center and the on-site restaurant Hideout has great breakfast and dinner. Would definitely recommend for this price point and area (exceptional location)!!!
