This was our first time in Oahu and I choose this hotel after some extensive research and it did not disappoint! To begin with, the staff is amazing. I can’t praise them enough. They’re friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The free coffee each morning is delicious. I ended up buying it from the hotel and I found out that it’s their own special brew made from a mixture of beans. We ended up eating at the hotel many times (restaurant and coffee shop) and the food was delicious and well priced. As for the rooms, they have cute decor and are comfortable. The only thing I will say is that the rooms are on the smaller side but if you plan on being out and about (like us) it didn’t really matter. The showers are incredible, they’re really big! The location is great, it’s in walking distance to many Waikiki businesses and if you rent a car they validate in a nearby parking garage so the parking is free. We loved the live music (which was very chill, not loud or annoying) and events. This is going to sound cheesy, but the vibes at Surfjack were great and we would definitely stay there again. Thanks for making our first trip to Hawaii so amazing!

Let me start by saying this isn't a pretentious upmarket hotel. Instead it's a small, incredibly inviting boutique place with a beachy vibe. I've never stayed anywhere that has friendlier staff from the moment I arrived to the time when I sadly had to check out and go home. I loved sitting by the poll with a drink in the evening listening to great live music. The breakfasts and dinner I had at the restaurant was excellent as were the serving staff. The hotel is in an older building and this shows in some places, but it has been upgraded very well. Everything looked well cared for and clean. I loved the Byrd products in the shower - thank you Surfjack! In short, if you want a laid back super friendly and reasonably priced place to stay close to the beach, this is it.

Great hotel with good customer service. Very accommodating about room cleanliness. The pool and seating area, along with the complimentary coffee are great perks. There is also a coffee shop off of the lobby if you prefer more complex coffee options. Waikiki beaches and International Marketplace are all within walking distance. They also host events weekly in the lobby. silent disco and a local vendor market we’re a couple that we’re held during my stay

This is a local favorite and a must for tourist as well as locals! The live music here and pool parties make it an incredible place to go for a family vacation or a simple night out while seeing all down town has to offer. I personally loved coming to watch Kelly Boy each Thursday during pandemic. Owners are incredible people and they run a great business. Chances are the people you met on your last trip are still working there next time as people love working here!

We loved our 5 nights at Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club! Perfect spot for our family of 4 (including two teenagers)...always something fun happening around the pool, restaurant, lobby. Close to shopping, beach, restaurants. Price and room fit our needs perfectly. Highly recommend.

Love the fact you can bring your pets. Great Customer Service, rooms are cozy, always have music. Last it's walking distance from all the shops.

I really enjoyed my stay at the surfjack especially because of the staff. Literally everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The front desk was so nice and helpful, they answered all my questions and was quick for any requests and house keeping made sure I was good everyday with towels. I was only one person but they stocked the bathroom with towels enough for 4 people. On top of that I enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning, it was strong and they had tea for non coffee drinkers.

Staff are amazing here! The location is great. 5 min walk to the beach, give or take. The restaurant and bar and really good - which is not always the case at hotels. The morning coffee at the lobby is a nice touch, and the pool is smaller but clean and very enjoyable. I appreciate the bag storage too.

Overall a good hotel a few blocks from the beach. Parking is included, but it is in another hotel's garage several blocks away. The garage is tight and you must leave the garage daily at least once within 24 hours and remember to have your ticket validated. Open air lobby and hallways. Great staff, most of which are very friendly and helpful. Live music at least on the weekends at night around the pool. One of our rooms had consistent issues with lack of hot water in the morning.

Would definitely stay here again (and likely will the next time I'm here). The location is PERFECT and they provide free parking at the Hyatt Centric (which is a 3 min walk). Other reviews have complained about the parking being off-site, but honeslty, free parking in Hawaii (when it's normally $40+/night) is a great perk, even if it's slightly off-site. They give you a fob for your entire stay so you can go in and out with ease. The hotel itself is SUCH a vibe. The pool is nice and clean with chill music playing most of the time, the poolside bar/restaurant is delicious, rooms are clean and spacious with a deck to dry your wet clothes. The bathrooms are slightly small but definitely manageable. The staff here is INCREDIBLE; everyone is so friendly and so incredibly accommodating. Out by the pool there's a water dispenser to fill up your bottles (and the water actually tastes good) AND they even have a reef-safe sunscreen dispenser! Every morning they also set up a coffee and tea bar. I honestly can't say enough good things about this hotel and will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the one bedroom suite. Bed was amazingly comfortable, shower pressure was brilliant.i would say it had a very rustic beach vibe, room looks to have been renovated but still looked a bit tired. We enjoyed our morning coffee and talking to other guests. Even though we visited without our dogs we absolutely loved seeing them around the hotel . Would definitely stay here again

TLDR: Super friendly staff, great location, and good rooms especially for the price in Waikiki! Be advised, it's dog friendly (in case you don't book through the hotels actual website). We were here for a month (army move) and this place was amazing. Everyone recognized us and our dog when we'd go on walks. The rooms were really nicely sized and we had enough space for two adults and our dog in the one room suite. The location is amazing, only a few blocks from the beaches and all the happenings in Waikiki as well as only half a block from the canal which is great for taking a dog on a walk! The pool is nice and perfect if you want to just chill out for a day. The restaurant here is also great and the bartenders were very nice when we'd stop in every now and then. There's also free parking for one car, yes it's like an 8 min walk but there's a Starbucks on the way and it's really not that bad, especially when parking in Waikiki can be like $45 a night, I'll take free with a walk any day. They also made us and our pet feel very welcomed and at home. If I'm ever on vacation here I'll be staying with them for sure! I can't recommend this place enough.

The front desk is always helpful and friendly, and house keeping was good each day. Pet friendly if that's important! Pool on site is a win, but beware of the slippery surround to the pool that they have signs out for. A short walk to so many restaurants to attractions, and the beach as well! Saw many guests with surfboard in hand or a pet dog on the lead Another plus, the restaurant has great food, live entertainment and nice staff. Would recommend this hotel and restaurant if visiting Waikiki as it's central to most places as well.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay. Our room was large and spacious with everything we needed. Bonus is being able to pat a furkid (dog) every day. It’s set back from the beach but perfect location.

This hotel is such a gem! It is conveniently located near numerous great bars, restaurants and shops, not to mention Waikiki Beach! The night time entertainment and pool were wonderful to return to in the evening! The free parking was a great bonus too. I loved everything about this hotel and look forward to returning again in the future!

Love this hotel and staff. Extremely helpful and friendly. Made every effort to ensure my family and I were comfortable during our 60 day stay. Love that parking is free and that they do not charge pet fees or hidden resort fees. Highly recommend.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed. Cute little boutique hotel at a great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful! We had a two bedroom suite which fit the 5 of us. Parking is included, however, it is off-site because they use another hotel’s parking garage and it is a 2-3 block walk which wasn’t terrible, we got used to the routine very quickly. We did not try the in-house cafe, but we did eat at the in-house restaurant and found the food to be just okay but pricey. Pool and lounge area were very relaxing and they have live entertainment every night (around 7-9pm, don’t quote me on the exact time slots, but it never ran that late in case you were worried about getting in your Zzz’s). Futon/sofa sleeper was not comfortable so we rotated each night between sleeping on the bed and futon. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

The Surfjack was amazing and I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit! It’s smaller than all the hotels on Waikiki beach which I loved because it felt more homey and personal as well as less touristy. The whole place has a chill, relaxing vibe. Our room was way bigger than we anticipated, with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and living space. The lanai/deck we had attached to our room was huge! The pool, with the “wish you were here” sign, was so cool to photograph. It never felt overly crowded and we were always able to get a spot at the pool or bar which we loved. They do have live music every night, and since our room was right outside of the pool, this was very loud for us. However, it usually ended pretty early. The staff were all so friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed talking to the staff at Mahina and Sons every day. Oh, and the food at Mahina and Sons is also amazing! They have a spot to refill your water bottle which we loved and they gave us beach towels everyday. It was about a 10 minute walk to Waikiki which we ended up not enjoying anyway because of the crowds. The parking garage is not on sight but is only about a 3-5 minute walk away and didn’t cause any problems for us. In fact, while parking our car one day we found the restaurant “heavenly” right outside which ended up being a great brunch spot. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Thank you to all the staff at the Surfjack who made our stay here unforgettable!

Service makes this place amazing. Room is okay. No laundry on site, or coffee maker or microwaves in the room. There are no views, but they do allow dogs and the front desk and house keeping knock it out of the park. O don't think I've stayed at a hotel with friendlier staff.

It’s a funky updated aloha type thing if that’s YOuR thing! Good value and location, in waikiki terms, services are a bit slow, but varied Restaurant food is a bit garbled for most palates and loses out to local DoorDash etc .unfortunate.

My friends and I stayed here for a week and we were all absolutely delighted with our experience. The whole staff was super friendly and always willing to answer questions and offer their help with literally anything. 110% recommend staying here. The view from the penthouse was amazing and all areas were kept clean and up to covid standards. Huge huge thank you to all the staff ❤️

Everyone was incredibly polite and helpful, which was great for our stay. Our suite was unfortunately very small with a view of a parking garage, but the pool area was nice. I just wish kids could use the pool after 530... parking is about 2 blocks away and there is very limited parking (just for loading and unloading) in front of the hotel. Mostly all great experiences with some minor things to improve upon.

Although we only stayed for one night, Surfjack was amazing. Close to everything and easily walkable to the beach. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and the room was great. But for me the essence of of what made our stay great was the staff. From the front desk staff to the porters. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Micah was especially helpful getting us settled. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. And I would book again for future stays in Waikiki.

The Surfjack was the perfect place for us! It was affordable, located only a short walking distance to the best beaches/food/shopping spots in Honolulu, AND the vibes are awesome. The interior design is amazing, and I’ll definitely be using pictures I took of the room as inspiration for my own home. There are spots all around the lobby and pool area for great social media pics and just relaxing in general. It was also a nice surprise to see dogs allowed at the hotel since we were missing our own fur baby and were able to pet a few. The service was quick and staff were friendly. Overall, I highly recommend booking a room here! We would definitely stay at Surfjack again.
