Great, friendly and accomodating staff. The bar downstairs has a wonderful neighborly vibe, and prices were reasonable, a good place to grab a drink or two. The location is easily accessible to the beach and Ala Moana Center. However, rooms were dated, and during my stay at the hotel, my room had suffered a full-blown roach infestation. Roaches had crawled from cracks in the wall and decided to make the bathroom and bedroom a bug feast. Dealing with roaches on your luggage and clothes is not something a hotel guest should have to worry about. Given this unpleasant experience, I would find it hard to ever stay at this hotel again. Hopefully they decide to make some changes and fix some outstanding issues they have in their hotel rooms.

I don’t normally make time to write something on social media but there’s something to be said. “WE HAVE NO FOOD…” Literally the first thing that came out of Chad’s (who was the bartender, but also answering phones for the hotel so who knows what his role is) mouth. I really wanted to try that cute charcuterie board that was all over social media. I did find this bar just going through my pandemic searching last year. After the Beyond Van Gogh, I thought let’s take an adventure. For first timers, Paniolo Bar/Equus did not leave a very welcoming impression. However it was cute and why not have the bar as an entry for the guests. I mean after a long day of traveling, you bet I’m going to want a cocktail. Chad did apologize and offered some discount (I didn’t pay). He called out my friend for possibly “giving him eye” but I was like seriously? He had this arrogant demeanor and completely tried to reconcile his attitude by claiming these were the “best drinks” in town. They weren’t: lacked flavor and uninteresting. Let’s pray he was having a bad day, but I wouldn’t waste your time here.

Room and service were incredible, and whatever you needed the staff would gladly provide. Blake, Chad, and Sher were very friendly, and judging by their work performance they obviously love their jobs. The staff and locals created a wonderful environment, and they showed me what Honolulu is all about. Highly recommend staying here.

Apparently there was some sort of infestation in our room, which the staff was wary of answering questions about. Only that a professional would enter our room while we were out and take care of it. We didn't see any bugs, so hopefully it worked. Was 10 minutes late checking out because the elevator stopped working and the front desk ever so graciously agreed to waive the late checkout fee. After being asked. The bar staff is great though, so there was that.

Had to change rooms 2 times. In the first room the floors were very dirty. AC unit didn't cool good. Front desk guy said it was on a Eco-friendly unit and it wouldn't get cold. Bed post was broken. I had to show him so I wouldn't be charged. Moved to another room the next day. Floor was still dirty. WEAR SHOE IF YOU STAY HERE. Ac unit didn't work in this room either. It was cooler out side then in our room. We had to move to another room again. That's packing up again to move ya'll. They didn't even offer us anything. I had this trip paid for before we ever got there. But I was still charged a resort fee. They didn't even knock any off of it. We even asked for a refund so we could go to another hotel down the street was told he would have to ask but probably not. we also had our excursion planned with the pick up at that hotel. Pool was dirty. It looked like black water not blue clear water. The only Good thing about this hotel is you can walk to near by place. But you can stay at the hotel across the street or down the street and do the same thing. I have always dreamed about going to Hawaii. I didn't let this NASTY, DIRTY non AC working room hinder that. I just want to help other people from staying there.

We only went to the bar and cafe. The staff (Ben and Yulia) were very nice and welcoming. They really made us feel at home.

Staff was very polite. Rooms were comfortable with good AC systems in them and a nice balcony that you could sit out on. The blinds made it so you can completely close in and be in the dark. But also be able to open up and be very light inside. The bathrooms were a little small but they were just fine. All it all is very satisfying with my stay. And when I come back to Honolulu I will be staying there again. Hands down! Had a great trip thank you.

Five stars experience for what I needed -- clean room with fridge, Keurig, etc (even went the extra mile to allow me to check in early when they had the room early), prime walkable location near the Kahanamoku beach and near an ABC for essentials, allowed me to hold my luggage after checkout for a few hours. Even got a free welcome drink at the Lanai Bar and Cafe (awesome by the way) -- tip: try the Paniola Punch ;)

Best lesbian bar Honolulu! (Not really, but I want to make it a thing lol) Yummy cafe food, all made fresh by Anita. The baristas and bartenders are all great. Yulia and Matt always know what drink I want, like magic. The atmosphere is relaxed with a few local fixtures ready to welcome the hotel guests to Hawai’i and live music on the weekends.

This bar / cafe was awesome, definitely the best local find during our time in Honolulu. They make the best cold brew I have ever tasted and if you are nice enough, they might even share the recipe. They have a few great breakfast options and the ambiance is cute and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here by myself for 4 days and this place lovely! Renee was such a warm host and helped me settle in very well. Matt and Anita at the bar were such lovely people, who I had a great pleasure to bond with. Everyone of their staff was super nice and they cleaned my room everyday. Place was close to Waikiki beach and other shopping centers. Parking was comfortable and even if you don’t find a spot, the staff is very accommodating and will help you find a spot. It’s central to most places and pretty close to the airport as well. All in all, loved loved loved this place <3

Guest service was super helpful and sweet even with our late arrival and many questions. ( Also next day immediately helped change out our broken coffee maker!) Loved the quaint atmosphere and the equine attire attitude everywhere!! This was a huge factor staying here with my love of horses and Polo. I can definitely see the owners passion and admiration of horses. I'm usually bothered by traffic noises but overlooked this side since I loved seeing beautiful horses everywhere. The end units have better views so another reason to ignore the traffic. Great location for ala Moana mall. Shopped all day!! Picture included my Uber driving up on sidewalk for pick up!

I loved my hotel room, it was beautiful, clean and I had a balcony which was a wonderful bonus !! The hotel was located in beautiful area with restaurants and shopping close by. The staff and bartenders were super nice! I had a most excellent time. I was very happy there, and I will tell all my friends traveling to Honolulu to try this excellent hotel.

We had a nice stay here, our room was small but adequate, everything worked properly. The cafe/bar downstairs was excellent. All the food surpassed our expectations and was affordable. The bartender, Julia, provided amazing service and prepared all our food and drinks with so much care!

I stayed at the Paniolo from November 17-23. My room was clean, had all the basic amenities, and always had great Wifi and air conditioning. What really makes the Paniolo stand out is the quality of care and service you get from the staff. I wanted to extend my stay by one day because my flight was at 11:30 PM but check out was at 12. Lincoln was able to help me and even offered me a discount so that I wouldn't have to pay too much to extend my stay. When I checked out later in the day, the staff even offered to give me a partial refund for leaving early. I don't mind paying whatever amount for my stay because the staff was so friendly and because it is one of the last family and locally-owned hotels in Waikiki. Even when the elevator was out for repairs on the day I arrived, the woman at the front desk helped carry my heavy luggage up to the 5th floor. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, and I was able to walk to the beaches and the Ala Moana shopping center in under 30 minutes. I'd highly recommend this hotel for someone who is looking for convenience, comfort, and reasonable pricing. Thank you so much to the staff for making my stay comfortable and for your hospitality.

Amazing little cafe/bar. The breeze was fantastic and Xavier was an extraordinary bartender (so fun and friendly and made amazing drinks)!!! Also chatted with a member of the family who owns the place and she was lovely and made us feel at home. One star deduction when we came back Sat afternoon 1/8. The young lady who was bartending was extremely rude to everyone and generally just seemed to have a bad attitude, so we left.

Paying for the location, not the hotel. Inconvenient parking situation (even after you pay you have to wait 10 minutes for an employee to hop in your car and scan you into the parking garage), no daily house keeping or fresh towels (which you pay for in the daily ‘resort’ fee), rooms did not feel clean, but you and your sleeping mate will be able to snuggle at night as you roll towards each other in the center of the lopsided bed. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Pros: Hotel was very close to the park, beach, many restaurants and the mall. The bartenders and receptionist were very friendly. I travelled alone and felt safe in the area. Cons: The room was disappointing. The bed was creaky every time I moved. No house keeping during my time there and still had to pay house keeping fees. Cockroaches in the room and around the building so be aware. There was a blood stain by my mirror close to the bed which really freaked me out. Unfortunately I won’t be recommending this hotel.

A small family hotel, wonderful staff. The rooms are decorated in the old western style,my only problem is that the window wouldn't open in the room. Bathrooms are modern and clean to a fault and the bed was very comfortable.
