Decent cocktails and some talented musicians. But my gripe is with the "atmosphere" mentioned in other reviews. Used to love going here but there's no enforcement of the dress code and the atmosphere dissipates a bit when you're sitting next to someone dressed in an old t-shirt and his finest board shorts. Reminds you that you're at just another overpriced hotel bar in Waikiki. Could truly be the "upscale" establishment it claims to be, but needs to commit.

If I could give it less than one, I would. In the past I have enjoyed it. Tonight I waited until 830 for the pianist to begin and and a family with a one year old arrived and took over the atmosphere. There were two waitresses and a bartender who did not ask the family to leave. Several times the child screeched and disrupted the pianist. They picked him up, bounced and did not leave. I thought a Friday night jazz performance was worth attending. Apparently management did not agree.

Perception of this place really depends on personal preference. There were many great aspects of this place and others that left me disappointed. 1. The atmosphere - very cool classic cocktail piano lounge. I'd rate the atmosphere in the top 5% of piano lounges I've been to. 2. The cocktails - simple and classic. If you order an old fashioned, negroni, sazarac, etc that's exactly what you'll get. I personal enjoy more creative reimagined variations of classics so I was somewhat disappointed. The drinks were good, don't get me wrong, but not unique or special. 3. The price - $18 for a cocktail in Hawaii is a very good price. Other lounges are much more expensive so I found the price point to be a positive. 4. The music - the night I went was a gentleman playing solo piano. It was pleasant but lacked the energy of a jazz lounge. I've been to other lounges where the musician is playing solo to a backing track and it does make for a better entertainment experience. 5. The food - overpriced and not good. Just don't bother getting food here. 6. The service - friendly but slow and not attentive. It'd be difficult getting a buzz with the pace of the service.

If you only have 20 mins, I implore you to check this place out. Staff was extremely insightful, the bar tender, Wing, was very helpful. The live piano was fantastic. If i could give this place 6/5 I would. Truly a hidden gem among Waikiki beach

We love the lounge for many reasons, but mostly for listening to Maggie and/or Rocky when they are performing. The haupia cake and cocktails are great, but apparently you can’t get the cake after ten. The dress code is much more relaxed except that you still can’t wear nice sandals. This seems strange in that several patrons were in jeans and sneakers, which seems far worse than wearing designer sandals with a buttoned shirt and slacks.

If you're looking for an upscale and relaxing environment in Waikiki this is the spot for you. Playing jazz each night with great cocktails and snacks. The atmosphere is very chill and they usually require nice clothing.

I’m always down for a nightcap! We were staying at Halekulani and popped in before heading back to our room. ATMOSPHERE: The cozy lounge is the hotel’s lobby bar but is located in a separate building just off of the pool deck. Live jazz music is featured Tuesday through Saturday evenings. Decor is very warm with dark woods and ambient lighting. It’s a bit squishy inside as it isn’t a large space. Choose from bar and low top seating. EXPERIENCE: We had a short five minute wait on this particular Saturday night around 10pm as they were fairly busy. I’ve always been drawn to jazz bars and Lewers Lounge did not disappoint. Ambiance, check. Drinks, check. Soothing, live singer, check. The spouse and I enjoyed a glass of bubbly before calling it a night. Prices weren’t too eye popping. The disappointment of the night? Me. I was so full and tired from our dinner prior to coming here, I was falling asleep! Ugh, still so mad about that. Host & wait service were good. OVERALL: One of the few jazz lounges in the 808.

Great place my new wife and I frequented. Did not realize it was so fancy, as I was asked to take my hat off. No problem. Gets busy on the weekends, but mid-week it's perfect. My wife and I were the only ones there on Monday and Tuesday and the piano man and horn guy accommodated our song requests. Surprised not much other people were there. I definitely put on slacks and Hawaiian shirt the next day and felt dressed for the occasion. Nice first romantic finish to the evening, as my wife and I were the only ones dancing. The act the following day was not as good.

We were hoping our experience here would be quite better. However, the last two times we had the same waitress, the thinner, taller Asian waitress that tends to work evening shifts per her statement. Both times, we waited 30 minutes before we had to wave her down to ask to get waters and rushingly get our orders in fearing she wouldnt be back for a while. After we finally got her to help us (when we were 2 of 20 people in the bar, with two other waiters working), we had to ask her twice to bring us the food menu and after waiting 30 more minutes, had to flag her down again to get our order in. Both times she seemed annoyed with us, surprisingly not noticing how much actual time had passed in between our requests. We realize that service workers being understaffed, overworked, and underpaid is a real struggle for people in the service industry so we make an extra effort to be patient and understanding… however, in this situation it felt quite warranted given the blatant instances of ignoring us as customers and proceeding to give us attitude when we would make reasonable requests around our order requests. It took us 45 minutes the first time and 55 the second time to get our drink orders. Otherwise, as per usual the ambiance and pianist were quite amazing. We hope to get the other waitress next time; as every time we see her and have had her wait on us; she has been more aware of us. mahalo and sorry for the long review.

The cocktails are way overpriced for the quality. The piano player was good and service was fine but the cocktails were run of the mill.

Kicked out of lounge for wearing a nice hat. Either the dress code on the website is wrong and needs to be changed (says nothing about wearing hats) or the staff was wrong. Also, from what I could tell, no live jazz despite what is advertised. Only plays jazz over speakers.

Such a fun, accidental find. It took us a minute to find the entrance but with the live piano and elegant cocktail lounge feel it gave us a NYC-feel. We moved to Hawaii from NYC so a pleasant surprise!

This is a classic cocktail lounge serving great cocktails and offering very good jazz from veteran musicians. They're also offering Suntory whiskies at pretty good prices compared to the mainland, especially Yamazaki 18. There's a dress code but it's pretty reasonable.

Expected and was glad to find strong, delicious drinks, great nibbles and outstanding music. Was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable, local vibe. A rarity on Waikiki; especially within a premier resort. Can’t wait to get back!

We always enjoy a night cap here (or three) with the delicious cocktails and awesome haupia (coconut) cake. We love to see Maggie and Rocky perform and look forward to visiting Honolulu again after all our past cancellations.

What an amazing place. Outstanding live music, great environment. Wing is an outstanding bartender and person in general. We came back twice during a 4 day stay and truly enjoyed our visits here. Highly recommended.
