We were recommended this place from friends that have been here many times before. This was our last and best meal in Oahu before our flight. Kalbi was plentiful and juicy, seafood Jun was massive and full of octopus, mama’s special poke was scrumptious with big flakes of crispy salt and the spicy ahi was perfectly blended of ahi and spice. Will be back soon!

We went for happy hour. $10 pitchers! Meat jun and fried mandu were good but nothing to write home about. The poke, however, was out of this world good. We got the mamas special. the little bit of rock salt goes a long way to make it extra delicious. Its a tiny place and we were happy to sit at a table that was reserved an hour+ later.

Wife and I were sent here by our Uber driver and man was it a great choice. All the tables were reserved but they let us in to sit down anyway. Every single piece of food was amazing (we didn’t even know what half of it was that we were ordering). This is a must go to hidden gem

The best hole in the wall spot for thick cut sashimi (hamachi, ahi, salmon), poke, kalbi, meat jun, and a solid selection of happy hour drink specials (11am–7pm!!). Small spot, so reservations are recommended. Pro tip: get some of the spicy ahi tuna with nori to go. Spread on rice. Amazing! 😛

Pretty good local spot and friendly staff. The oyster jun, spicy tuna, and garlic ahi tuna belly are my recommendations. The poke was a bit too salty and I would go to Ono San for poke. The other foods and service made up for it.

Any random seafood restaurant in Hawaii can serve the same quality food but where else can you find such hell-like customer service? A dumb waitress ruined our dinner by forgetting our orders not only once, not twice, but THREE times in 1.5 hours. We first ordered our drink and waited for 20 minutes till the manager happened to come by and brought our drinks. It’s not even the fun part. After we waited another 30 minutes, the waitress dared to come and deliver the bill WITHOUT SERVING ANY MAIN DISHES. We had three people with three entrees on the bill, but none of those plates were on the table??? At that point we were still trying to be nice, and simply reminded the girl about our orders again. Then our first entree came. That’s it. That’s the only main dish we got for the entire dinner. When two starving customers wanted to check with that waitress 30 minutes later, she came WITH THE BILL again. We were already tired of reminding her, but here she asked: “what food?” As if one half-pound salmon poke can feed three adults?? As if after the first mistake she still doesn’t feel the need to check our orders again? As if she didn’t even look at our bill for one sec before rushing to us for her tips? We were in fact not surprised when she just walked away realizing there were still two missing dishes. ‘Cause she didn’t apologize for the first and second time, either. Neither her, nor the manager, came to our table to make any apologies. We then went to complain about the waitress, and the manager just passively waived the payment and told us “you can go now” like we were the ones making nonsense in her restaurant. Forgetting is one thing. The attitude those people carried is truly disgusting. Find another restaurant if you can. There are like ten seafood spots in the same block. Trust me, It’s not worth the time, energy, or your decent soul to deal with this disaster.

Saw Kyung’s on a list of essential “off the beaten path” Honolulu restaurants. We’re pretty adventurous eaters and love Korean and sushi, so this seemed up our alley. Without doing too much research, we walked over from Waikiki and started getting nervous that the restaurant would be a tiny hole in the wall or sketch etc. But were pleasantly surprised when we went inside. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the small sashimi platter plus the Kalbi and Poke combo. This came with some banchan of kimchi, Mac salad, and pickled radishes. Everything was delicious!! The sashimi was some of the best I’ve had, even compared to some of the “elite” sushi spots we’ve had in LA. And the kalbi were so good too. All the banchan were very good too. For the money, we felt this was really good value. All in all, highly recommend!

One of the best meals we had while visiting O’ahu! We had the sashimi platter and the beef jeon and poke plate. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous! Service was also great.

Outstanding spot that you can imagine Bourdain would've loved. Excellent food, variety, and the prices are good. Expect to wait for a table, but be respectful if they're busy and it takes longer than you thought it might. It will be worth the wait.

Awesome team there. They are very friendly. The sashimi was fresh and melt in your mouth. I had the Meat Jun that was so tender. I will go back many times.

Parking is limited, but we came around 12:00pm and were able to get parking. The food is amazing. Better than the korean food I have had at Los angeles (visiting from LA). The portion sizes are generous and everything had great flavor. We got the kimchi seafood jun, oyster jun, kalbi, mama' s poke, $30 sashimi and seafood soup. Everything was delicious. The staff was also very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant to friends and family that go to hawaii. Favorite meal in hawaii so far!

Omg! I’m so glad I had this as my first meal in Oahu and it did not disappoint! It lived up to the hype. I ordered the sashimi platter and the chicken. The fish was buttery and the chicken was flavorful but not overcooked and rubbery. The rice was on point. The sides were delicious as well. I’d definitely stop by one or two more times before I head out! ❤️ Cheers from California.

This is, by far, the best restaurant I’ve been to in Hawaii. Anyone can have good food. But what sets this place apart is the experience. The service was pretty awesome. Auntie Kyung is the life of the party! Plus her food was soooooo yumm! I’ll definitely come back again.

I usually NEVER write reviews. I’m fact, I think this is my 2nd ever google review. I had to write this though. If you are in Hawaii and you want to try amazing POKE, quality poke- pleaseeeee go here. I am visiting for the first time in HI and I’ve tried many pokes after doing much research and this one is hands down, the best. Generous portions, the owner is so kind, patient and informative about the menu. You can also tell that they are very hard working and want to make sure you get the most of your meal too. I couldn’t help but to purchase more than I really needed because i wanted to try everything. Thank you for the wonderful service and best poke in Honolulu!!!! Will come back again and recommend this to my friends!

What a pleasant surprise: hole-in-the-wall-ish but great food - my kind of place! We got a plate of super-fresh thick-cut sashimi, chicken gizzards, seafood pancake (crispiest one I've ever had), grilled fish collar, sizzling beef ribs. All were delicious! To boot, service was friendly and fast.

Our Uber driver recommended this place as good seafood... Totally worth it! Absolutely AMAZING food. We ordered the sashimi, meat jun and poke. The meat jun was phenomenal! We went on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy by 6:30... So call ahead to make a reservation just to be sure you'll have a table when you get there.

Kyung's is a fantastic place to have great quality sashimi for an amazing price. Thick slices as well. 27 pieces for $30 with banchan served on the side with your order. They have an extensive menu of Korean food as well along with Poke. Definitely in the top 10 eats in Honolulu. Friendly staff as well.

Walked past here so many times. Well, I went in and it had such a good warm mom and pop feel, just loved the whole vibe. The server was so sweet and attentive, even as it got busy. Mom easily came out to help. The Sashimi was very fresh and melted in my mouth. Meat-jun was some of the best I've had. Got to go back to try more. Serving sizes were so large. It gets busy here and may have to wait, but worth it. Parking is limited on the street or down in the neighborhood. Oh, got to try the Strawberry Soju too, blended up fresh and not weak.🤙🏼

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday. We rant to reserve a table in advance, which they were happy to accommodate. It’s a vibrant/loud restaurant that really feels authentic. The food was amazing, great value and delicious. We got the sashimi $30, meat Jun and kalbi. All tastes great. I’d highly recommend for a good value, delicious and easy meal.

Years ago, when aunty Kyung first moved to the current location, I used to eat there almost every night. I'm back over now from NZ and was both very excited to eat here again and very saddened to hear of aunties passing 😔. Her daughter, who I remember as a little girl sitting in the restraunt most nights, is now fully grown and running the show and, what a job she's doing! You won't find mo betta food on this island than here, poke/kalbi combo is absolutely insane on the taste buds! I'm stoked that you have all kept this restaurant, no, this legacy going and are doing such an amazing job at it . You should all be very proud! If I can give one piece of criticism, just because we always need something to strive for... get the K-pop video clips back on at least one of the TVs. No need sound, they were just such a fun thing to watch while eating and always added to the experience there. Mahalos guys for tha grindz and I hope I can get in one more time before I fly out. Big 🤙 to you!

In A Nutshell: -Kyung's Seafood is a local spot to grab some good comfort Korean/Japanese food. -They specialize in "fresh local ahi sashimi and poke". -This small restaurant is located on the corner of South King & Birch Street. -There is a very small, 3 car parking lot. -We ordered their popular combo of Korean short ribs (galbi) + Poke. -The short ribs were a little undercooked, so we asked them to cook them a little longer, but once they came back again, they were really good b/c they are pretty thick short ribs. -The poke is plentiful & tasty. Overall, this is a local spot so if you live here or visiting w/ a large group of people, maybe you could look into their catering service.
