Reservations only. And they'll call you a few hours prior to make sure you'll abide by the dress code. Complimentary valet at the restaurant so you don't have to look for parking. That's nice at least. The service from beginning to end was absolutely flawless and impeccable. We get checked on by multiple servers consistently and the water gets refilled right away when it reaches a certain level. Everyone was polite and friendly which made me feel really comfortable being there. Then comes the food. They do give you a free starter, 4 pieces of cheesy bread. Used to be 6 btw. For a party of two, if you ought to order an appetizer, two entrees, a dessert and drinks. You'll probably be looking at $250-$280 not including the tips. Everything was marked up at least 200%-300%. For what exactly? Hey I don't mind splurging once in a while but i wasn't sure what i was paying all that money for. I ordered the scallops for appetizers, they were seasoned well and tasted fine. A little on the smaller side but whatever. New York strip and potato for entrees. I could easily get the same meal from Outback or Ruth Chris for half of the price. Tastes the same and nothing stands out for me. The dessert chocolate mousse looked very pretty and it was tasty too without being too sweet. The cocktail, again, very teeny tiny glass and not much to drink. For a $20 lemon drop I'd at least expected a bigger glass. Overall, great service and mediocre food that was not worth the price. The service definitely enhanced my overall experience, but I was there for the food and that didn't come first for me.

For our Anniversary we decided to try Hy steakhouse in Waikiki, Hawaii. Our experience was great. We were served by Teresa with help from Mana and JP. We started off with the house made Caesar Salad. Teresa literally made it in front of us. Then we ordered the Porterhouse for two, Medium Rare, mash potatoes and veggies. Teresa cut up our steak in front of us! It was delicious! I had an Old Fashioned and My bride had the Hy Blend Cab. Delicious and refreshing. We finished off our Anniversary dinner with the Bananas Foster which Teresa made in front us us as well! The presentations were on point, Teresa insured we were taking care of the whole night! We had such a great experience! Our wait staff were top notch! FYI they do have a dress code, no open toed shoes, no hats and must have a collared shirt.

Truly the best experience in Honolulu. The food is amazing. Service is incredible. The table side preparations are so fun! Took myself and three 16 year olds to dinner and our cheeks still hurt from smiling, we had the best time. I wish I could give more than five stars.

we went here for an anniversary dinner a few months ago, finally made the review now! the food is good but definitely save this place for a special occasion. service is super on point. highly recommend, the steak was yummy. the beef wellington was good, not exactly the best I've ever had but it was well cooked and delicious. the complimentary dessert to celebrate our occasion was a nice touch.

Great old school food and top service at the iconic Hy's. Steak was spit on cooked just right, so was the caesar even with a chilled fork. Service was friendly and efficient. A good vibe too. Recommended.

The BEST! Do you hear me!?!? Reservations are required, if you don't you will be asked to make a reservation or sit at the bar. (Options are nice) lol Our food assistant (Gilson) was absolutely fantastic! His energy was wonderful the entire time and he was so very knowledgeable about every question we had. Actually the entire staff was great. The ambiance was amazing. The food was delicious. They give you this cheese bread in the beginning before the meal which is so buttery and delicious the water glasses stayed full. When we ordered our meal they came out and they looked like something from out a magazine. They removed the shell from my lobster tail and cut the lamb for easy access. And when it was time for dessert banna foster made at the table and because it was a birthday dinner they gave a delicious piece of cheesecake with the edible Hy chocolate logo on top. If I could have given it 10 stars they would have it. If I was a millionaire I would eat here once a week for the entire experience all over again. Awesome job everyone. @according2teau 👽🦄

My husband & I always try to make it a thing to dine here when we're visiting (3 times so far) and the food/service has always been great :). Please note: they WILL enforce the dress code here & even contact you a few hours before your reservation time to remind you to wear close-toed shoes and are not arriving in beachwear. There's a complimentary valet & parking also for anyone that is renting/driving here. The full rack of lamb I had was wonderful, cooked to my liking, and easily sharable between two people (I let my husband snag a few pieces as I got full). Desserts are wonderful too, highly recommend the tableside Bananas Foster.

Old school steakhouse. If you get salad for the table, they will make it in front of you. Along with certain desserts. If you want prime time dinner time then you need to make reservations at least a week before. Otherwise they usually have 8pm or 830pm available. They also have complimentary valet service.

Excellent! This was the best steak house in Honolulu. (I tried Wolfgang's, Signature Prime and a few others). Even the cocktails were amazing! I loved smoke&bitters: it has a smoky smell and flavour, which I miss! Garlic steak with foie gras was outstanding as well. The only downside will be the price, but it is understandable with top-notch services and food.

Let me start by saying and we go to a lot of very, very nice restaurants. That being said, this restaurant was in probably our top five. The staff and service will excellent, beyond belief. Our waiter was Vince and his helper was Mana. The menu options were awesome and the food was delicious. We were treated like rockstars from both our Vince and Mana, and along with all the other staff there. The drinks and food were awesome and we highly recommend anyone in Hawaii to go here. 100% top notch!!!!

Fantastic steak dinner! The atmosphere is perfect for fine dining. Staff are well dressed and superbly professional. Made our ceasar salad right beside the table, explaining the ingredients. Steaks were massive and a perfect medium rare. They even still make beef Wellington, which many shops stopped preparing. Reservations are highly recommended, and there is a dress code.

I rarely feel compelled to leave a review, but Hy's Steak House went so far beyond my wildest expectations. I have frequented many great restaurants all across the United States and few reach this level of excellence in any singular category - Hy's knocked it out of the park in all of them. The food, the ambience, and the service is all top notch. I was blown away by how much attention to detail is put into creating a memorable dining experience for the patrons here and you can tell each worker in this restaurant takes pride in what they do. This was the best steak dinner I have had in my life and I would return to Honolulu just to eat here again. Make sure you don't skip dessert and order one of the tableside flambe options - a very unique and old school touch to cap it all off with! Come here for a quality meal in a friendly and classy atmosphere. Well done, Hy's! Simply superb.

In my opinion, the best steakhouse in Honolulu. Aged Keawe Grilled steaks, great service, convenient location. The price is what you'd expect from a high end steakhouse, and worth it.

From start to finish Hy's Steak House made our dining experience memorable - exceeding all expectations. The staff was extremely attentive and most pleasant. The food had phenomenal presentation and was cooked to perfection. The table side flambé was quite a sight to see and was one of the best desserts I had experienced. I would highly recommend Hy's to anyone visiting the city looking for an amazing steak dinner.

DRESS CODE!!! For men, come with shoes that COVER YOUR FEET!!! The steak was cooked very well, perfect I can say, and the service overall was outstanding and not overwhelming. As vegan you can also enjoy some sides, so don't be afraid to try this place if your partner eats meat.

We went for our anniversary 3/3/2021 before our first son was born.. he picked the place because it was a walking distance from where we stayed (Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach and Resort Spa). the thing is since I preferred my food vegan/vegetarian.. it’s a bit harder to do it in steak place.. they are more vegetarian friendly, but they’re sure not vegan friendly (I am unsure how it is now since I’m writing this 2023) but it’s nice that they’re trying to accommodate your diet needs.. again I’m not saying I am a vegan person looking for vegan options in a steak restaurant.. this restaurant is really nice and the food was really really enjoyable, just wish they have at least one vegan options but overall experience, super worth it! Got my mocktails as I was pregnant then.. My hubby was the meat eater so this is super heavenly for him, they give us a really nice yummy desserts as we told them we were celebrating our anniversary, (the cheesecake was freebies, and I love how they do the other dessert in front of us) and it was very delightful.. good experience! Totally should come once in your life time!

Top Notch! From start to finish this restaurant is the ultimate dining experience. Beef Wellington and lobster bisque was superb. All the staff was in unity to ensure you have all the accommodations that are required of you. Best restaurant by far. You will pay for it, but they deserve it. Great Job Guys.

The service was excellent from valet to waiter. Even though the escargot was okay, I would have been more impressed to have a WOW factor. The rest of the meal was excellent. I expected more from the bathroom to match the atmosphere of the restaurant being in a fine dining.

Beautiful restaurant and excellent service. The steaks were cooked perfectly! The Fench onion soup looked delicious, and I was told that it tasted just as good! My only critique is that all the food lacked any form of seasoning.

Hy's was an experience. I have paid similar prices at other restaurants and not received a fraction of the care and attentiveness of the staff. Pictured is the Beef Wellington and Sangria. All of the food our table ordered (5 people) was presented and tasted exceptional. If you can afford it, I highly recommend Hy's. Be aware there is a dress code and reservations are recommended.

I recently dined at Hy's Steak House in Honolulu with my girlfriend and her sister and I have to say, it was an exceptional experience. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were equally delicious. The ambiance was quite charming and cozy which created a great atmosphere for our dinner. The service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, making recommendations that enhanced our meal. Overall, I highly recommend this steakhouse to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in Honolulu.

The service was great! But if there are well known for their steak I wonder why the steak is not even prime at all it's kinda dry my cousin have to ask for an A1 sauce to add flavor. The dessert and sea bass was really good though.

Absolutely five star service, this place treat you like royalty. Before your water glass is empty it is filled to the top. The food is phenomenal and cooked to perfection. The desert, flambé is an absolute Amazing experience within itself. This restaurant has the absolute best mia tia on the island. Highly recommended….

My wife and I had dinner here on our last night in Waikiki Beach. Our waiter, Stewart, was excellent. Stewart was also the the sommelier and that led to an excellent Cab Franc. We had an absolutely awesome dinner. We had the special of a Tomahawk Rib eye for 2. We got to see it cooking and they carved it table side. Reservations needed. If you can, request Stewart - he'll take great care of you and your guests.

Hy’s Steakhouse was an awesome experience! Brice, Ty and the manager, (can’t remember his name) all the stars were attentive, funny and made the experience personable for my mom’s birthday. If you visit Honolulu this place is high end and a must if you’re trying to impress someone or celebrating an anniversary, Birthday, special occasion or just treating yourself. You will not regret the experience. The steak was very tender, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The cheese bread was good and the Mac and cheese was great! Must have the banana Foster…

The experience was awesome, they have an included valet service which is very good considering the congestion in Waikiki. The table will already be set when you arrive and the ambience is similar to most fine dine restaurants. It gives an old Americana vibe because of all the encyclopedias and paintings. The steak was average at best, the onion soup is salty and it has mozarella. Could have been cream. Other food menu is awesome, I'd say the prime rib is the best in their menu. But, taste is subjective. The servers are very professional. It is definitely something you should at least try
