I am a longtime fan of La Tour Cafe Their breads and pastries are always delicious and I am so thrilled for the owners to see their goods available in Whole Foods and Foodland Farms grocery markets, ABC stores, etc. Monday 5/16/22 I ordered a wagyu melt sandwich and garlic fries for dinner. I was really disappointed in their recent service. I called the restaurant to place a take out order at 6:23pm on a week day. I was met with a sassy tone and was asked by the cashier 1. If I knew where the restaurant is located 2. If I knew that the restaurant closes at 7pm 3. Upon my request for water to drink with my meal, I was told that only bottled water was available to me I wanted to give the cashier fella the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was having a bad day.. that's okay, we all have those. I get it. However, when I got to the restaurant at 6:40pm this same cashier was also sassy in person (attitude , facial expressions and tone of voice). I learned that there was other water available for me from the soda fountain for $0.52 a cup. When I finally did get my food at 6:50pm, my request "no cheese on my melt/sandwich" was granted but somehow I was missing other ingredients from my order (no jalapenos , which I was looking forward to) The food was lackluster and I wouldn't order either of these items again. Garlic Fries: too much butter, taste very rich, filling and fatty (not in a positive way) Wagyu Melt: (ordered it without cheese) somehow mines didn't come with jalapenos. Too much butter. Service 2 of 5 Food 2 of 5 Disappointed and will look for my sandwich + fries fix elsewhere. *I rarely write negative reviews but this one felt deserving

***GREAT TASTE*** 4.5 only due to a looooong wait for one sandwich. This place is packed and with all the order-ins, it takes awhile to get the grilled/cooked food. Don't hesitate to try it out. This was the Ckicken Pesto Sandwich for $10.99. It was great!

The food was fine. Not special, just fine. The really disappointing feature of a dine in eating experience was having disposable everything. The sandwich came in a to go box. The hamburger and fries came in a paper bag. The drink was in a plastic cup, the knife was plastic, and the ketchup were individual packets. All waste while eating in!

Due to pandemic they are probably not at their best. May want to wait till they can get back to normal. During my visit the whole modified menu was not available. I tried ordering a pizza to be told they stopped making it. This I found odd since few minutes later a customer picks up their pizza order. I ordered a panini but it took awhile. This was around 4:30. From what I can gather everyone was getting ready to close at 7pm. The oven must be a fire hazard to leave it hot so cool down must begin early. As for the food it wasn’t what I expected. It looked like a sandwich bread with something in between as filling. I ended up after a bite throwing it out. Once again it must be the pandemic so please go there with limited enthusiasm. For under $20 it would have been better spent elsewhere. It should be noted that the business does not take cash which I personally found strange since credit card usage involves additional charges by the credit card companies. Anyhow, I will wait to try their food and service another year or two.

So first they have done a good job layout out the place and making a nice waiting area, no fine in which is very smart. Lycee lemonade is good but leaves a really weird taste in your mouth...so not sure how I feel about it overall. Wife ordered the phoggie and really enjoyed it ( i tasted was pretty good) I ordered the french dip...and quite possible the worst french dip and fries I have ever put in my mouth.........the bread was soggy and had 0 crunch, the meat tasted like nothing and was rubbery and the onions were mush. The french fries tasted at least a day old and we're border line flavorless.....I sadly ate about about half of it and couldn't stand it anymore and threw it all away......will def never come here for food again As always the macaroons were exceptional (this isn't a review of them just the food)

Disgusting. I will never buy from them again. Ordered turkey panini and the bread is extremely hard. Like chewing on cardboard. they probably got the bread out of the freezer and just cooked it as is. That's how it tastes like. Shame on you to even pull this piece of junk off the grill and think it's okay to serve it to a customer!

Three and a half stars, rounded up. We decided to get lunch here since we would be in the area anyway. I ordered the falafel banh mi, my sister ordered the chicken pesto panini, and my mom ordered the La Tour Burger, all of which were about $11 each. All of us enjoyed our food, but I was the only one who thought their food was worth the price.

Food is fine but service is TERRIBLE. Over an hour for a carry out order which wasn’t even correct. Upon 2nd trip back 2 of the staff members wouldn’t look my way or offer any help as I’m clearly standing at the register. I understand lunch is a busy time but over an hour for carry out and it’s not even correct and half the food isn’t even hot at that point? Disappointing is an understatement. This location also refuses to answer their phone, had to call a different location and relay the message. Absolutely ridiculous.

They have awesome tea. The one I got was "paradise tea." This is the first time I have been to this cafe store; I will return to this place in the future

Food is great and service is quick. Be prepared to use a credit or debit card. While I appreciated a cashless system during the pandemic, continuing to force people how to pay (they only accept card payments and no cash) is a huge turnoff for me.

I came here for the first time mostly because of their macaron options but decide to get a full lunch. I ordered the French dip which wasn’t very large but still filling (it probably isn’t the greatest French dip in the world but I don’t exactly expect much when ordering this sandwich for anywhere) I also ordered the garlic pomme frites which I very much enjoyed how crispy they are. Obviously they’re garlic so your breathe will smell rank but who cares right? I ordered the la tour iced coffee which is comes already with cream and sweetened. I really liked it because it was just right (not too sweet), of course I got the butter mochi Kouign-amann which tastes exactly as you’d expect (bomb!) very sticky though! And last but not least, I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch macaron which lived up to its name. Very on point. Overall I was very satisfied with my meal, I had nice interactions with the staff and found everything very tasty. Needless to say, I’d totally go back. 👍👍👍

Great smashed burger. But their Bahn mi sandwiches needs work. Overall on their food not bad. But their helpers need work on how to be kind to their customers. And need another option for payment. No cash.

I've enjoyed them for years. Love the panini sandwiches. The French onion soup is my favorite. The macarons and kouign Amman are always nice treats!

I was running errands and stopped in for a bite to eat. I have allergies so I have to be careful the quality of the food that I eat. I hadn’t had bread today so the Turkey & Sun-dried tomato panini and a cup of soup sounded really good. I can eat a small amount of cheese if I plan out my diet. The grilled panini was mouthwatering. The soup tasted fresh and complimented the panini. This was a great choice today.

With so many great dining options around Honolulu, I’d say I wouldn’t pick La Tour for my first choice to grab lunch. I tried the French Onion Soup, which was good but didn’t have much onions or cheese, and Garlic Pomme Frites, which had a great garlicky coating but were overdone and a little hard. My friend had one of the specials, a fried Mahi sandwich that slumped on the filling in my opinion. Macarons are awesome though!

My update-Jan.2021 Kouign Amann loyalty rewards is completely digital and no longer on a stamp card (about a year now?) and they now serve the croque madame (w/egg) and croque monsieur!! :D covid safety only allows for take away but you can order ahead. Previous older post- Kouign Amann lovers unite... La Tour makes one of the best sweets that are so flaky and light, and they offer not only the original (dare I say plain) flavor, but local ones like MANGO kouign amann!!! Be sure to pick up a stamp card so that every gooey monster gets you closer to a free one once you accrue a dozen stamps! Of course their famous for specialty macarons that's difficult to pass up, and with so many choices of filling flavors... why should you? Paris is a little closer with the onion soup, but I miss the Croque Madame and Croque Monsieur items.... please bring them back!! Other yummy oui oui items are the Falafel Banh Mi sandwich and salad combo and pizzas.

So my wife and I went in and grabbed some lunch. I am not going to knock the food because it was as good as I have known it to be. However, the service was really off. Since there is no sit down eating due to COVID , you place your order and then wait in the area where tables used to be. And we waited and waited and waited and waited. 28 minutes for a salad and a French sandwich to be exact. In fact, the bag they put our food in I actually witnessed them put on the order counter but rather than call our name and walk the bag out (like they did everybody else) they periodically look at the order ticket taped to the bag and move on to another order. It wasnt until I went up and asked if that bag was ours, did they look at the ticket (again) and hand the food to us. They handed it to me with a half hearted "sorry it took so long" and that was it. Really disappointed

Great food & customer service! The macaroons are exceptional

The menu is pretty big and seems to be a fusion of classic American sandwiches, French, Italian, and asian cuisines. The burger I had was tasty but under seasoned and not as dense as one would expect from a burger. The fries were crispy and on point. My wife had a pastrami sandwich, which she enjoyed. Service was friendly and quick. Parking can be difficult. Will go again and try more of their menu.

The food was just okay, I would not go out of my way to eat here again. I had the tuna fish sandwich and it had decent flavor, however there was barely any tuna on the sandwich and it was mostly bread. There was only a tiny sliver of avocado on it, which is disappointing. I got a side of garlic pomes and they were actually pretty good, but my spouse said they were disgusting and too oily. The macaroons were decent; the strawberry cheesecake one were freaking delicious, and the chocolate ones were okay but not as good as the strawberry ones. I would most definitely go back for the macaroons over the food for sure! Lastly, the staff was not very friendly and were rude.

Great place to stop for some yum sandwiches, burgers and iced coffee. We tried the Chicken Pesto, La Tour Burger, The Iced Coffee and Litchee Lemonade. The food was made super fresh and tasty. The staff was really pleasant and they have some 7-10 tables.

2/5 Parking 4/5 Nice welcoming staff. Efficient and helpful. 4/5 French dips on their baguettes are delicious, their smoked tuna and falafel were great too. We got garlic papas fritas and my truck still smelled like garlic and hour after we finished eating our takeout. They are worth it if you love garlic. Save Room for dessert too. They are well known for their macarons, but I'm kouign amann stan.
