They definitely deserve their rating. Can't go wrong. Order anything. A great part is that despite clear popularity, the staff are kind, friendly and attentive (hint hint hipster SF restaurants). You can order x100 spiciness level. Even if you are Asian, don't be a hero. Stick to x10. X30 spiciness and above that's already spicy food challenge level.

Ive tried some really good ramen in Tokyo. That being said, I had the garlic tonkatsu ramen 16.50, garlic gyoza and chashu quesadilla. Staff was friendly. The ramen was decent, nothing really worth coming back for especially for 16.50 (gotta get your ramen with an egg! 14.50 otherwise) Gyoza was ok. The soy sauce they use is extremely salty so light dips. The quesadilla was probably the best dish out of all of them. Good flavor and nice soft crunch. This wouldnt be my go to ramen but def a spot if ur just craving ramen in general.

Table for 4. About $70 Cons - chili oil wasn't spicy, at all. I have a decent spicy tolerance, but I didn't want an oil based soup if I kept adding chili oil. Takoyaki was good, but a little too mushy for me. Didn't really get a strong flavor of the octopus. Pros - Service was quick! Small restaurant, so the servers kept an eye out on all the tables (or that's how we felt with our table.) We ordered 3 types of ramen, and all 3 were fantastic. 1) Spicy Tonkatsu, my brother asked for mild, but still had a nice heat. 2) Tonkatsu was creamy and flavorful. It had a nice amount of oil, and it was not salty. 3) Garlic Tonkatsu had just the right amount of sliced garlic cooked with it, great aroma, but pleasant with the garlic flavor. I've had many garlic Tonkatsu and most places make it with too much garlic, to the point it's overwhelming, but Junpuu was great! Best ramen I've had in years (and I eat ramen almost every vacation I go on).

This place might be small but their ramen packs a big punch! Everything our party ordered was fantastic. I’m usually not a fan of much broth but the broth here is next level amazing. Along with that, the service is fast and great. They all worked together to ensure our dining experience was great, and it was! So if you work in the area or are looking for the best ramen in Honolulu, look no further than this place to eat!

Best ramen my wife and I have ever had. I had the spicy tonkatsu and added the black garlic oil and my wife had the black garlic ramen. Everything from the broth to the chashu was great. My wife asked if they have stickers but who I assume to be the owner said “No, but we have chopsticks!”

Absolutely amazing ramen and service. The broth was flavorful but not overpowering, the noodles had just the right firmness, and the pork in the tonkatsu ramen fell apart as I ate it but not in the bowl. The server helping us came by multiple times to make sure everything was right and refill water even though they were quite busy. Highly recommended.

Delicious ramen and very hospitable staff. They also allow BYOB if you want a drink with your ramen. Adequate seating options both inside or outside. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Ordered the garlic tonkatsu ramen. Good place - portion is good, broth is flavorful, service is great. Like most of the other restaurants in the area, food is on the expensive side. Overall a good experience!

Excellent ramen spot in Honolulu. The broth for the Garlic Miso Ramen and Tomato Ramen were rich but not overpowering. The Tantan Men, however, had really strong sesame flavor. Noodles had a good chew, and complimented the broths perfectly. Indoor seating is rather limited, they'll likely seat you outside at first, though you can request to move inside later. If you're a fan of ramen, definitely don't pass this place up!

This place is wonderful. The gluten free ramen is excellent, the noodles are amazing. There are also very good vegan and vegetarian options! The best ramen I’ve had since visiting Kyoto!

Amazing ramen original prompt service but where are the eggs in the ramen?. I tried the tomato one very original I never had it before. My husband got the garlic tonkatsu . I would come back if in the area.

I’m being dramatic when I say this is the best veggie ramen I’ve ever had but there’s some truth in there as well. If you’re like me and enjoy a rich broth, this place is pretty good. I was looking at photos and thought the ramen looked a little plain, but I’ve never been more deceived. It was super rich but not too heavy. I was super hungry when I went and this place was perfect for what I was feeling. I regret not going sooner!

Server was very knowledgeable about the gluten free options and asked if it was allergy/preference. Only the veggie ramens and the shoyu ramen (broth) are gluten free. However with the shoyu ramen, the egg and the char siu are not gluten free. You can also add spice to any. I got a 4/10 spice and it was the perfect medium level for me. A nice burn while still being able to taste the food. The noodles are the best GF noodles I have ever had. I don't know what dark magic makes them so chewy, but they're like regular noodles. Highly recommend!

I ordered the garlic tonkotsu ramen with 10x spicy. My hope was a garlic ramen with a bit of extra spice. I was warned it was spicy but a friend had gotten it last time I came and it was really well balanced and the favorite of the table. So this solo adventure I went for it. When I got my bowl, it was red. As in spicy red. I gave it a college try but my taste buds had to tap out halfway through. So listen to the spicy warning! 1 star off for when I got the receipt it had “spicy tonkotsu ramen 10x spicy” with blackened garlic oil add on. Perhaps that meant it was double spicy? Spicy on top of the spicy base? It could mean nothing but it just means I’ll have to come back and get a non- spicy garlic tonkotsu to be able to sip all the tasty broth. Still would recommend. Will update with next review. FYI: The parking behind the building is deceptive, there is a guard shack and a sign “private parking” for the medical arts building. I ended up paying for street parking…until I got to the front of the restaurant where I saw a sign for the building….medical arts building. So I could have parked in the back lot. I’m assuming because it near the HoMA that they regulate parking in that way. I’ll park there next visit.

I had large tonkotsu ramen with spicy garlic broth. This is somewhat creamy but really delicious ramen. The server took time to understand what type of ramen we would like including mixing spice and garlic broth.

Casual dining with exceptional gyoza and decent ramen. Do expect to wait due to limited seating. Gyoza: full of chive and garlicky goodness. One of the best in Honolulu. I could seriously munch on these all day! Highly recommend. Miso Ramen: I would best describe it as a quality ramen. Well sourced ingredients make up the smooth broth, umami packed cha sui, and egg. Other reviews suggest that the ramen is amazing. From my experience and person bias, the miso broth was light and a tad too oilly. In addition, it lacked the bursts of umami found in exceptional ramen. I would definitely get it with the negi (spring onion) to counteract the grease next time! Ps 8/10 spicy is a little less spicy compared to a pack of shin ramen. Nonetheless, a great place for family and friends for a casual lunch/dinner. Lots of parking nearby.

This place deserve a better rate and more reviews. Absolutely delicious ramen and great service. The broth was flavorful but not overpowering, the noodles had just the right firmness, and the pork in the tonkatsu ramen fell apart as I ate. The server helping us came by multiple times to make sure everything was right and refill water even though they were quite busy. Highly recommended.

Finally got to try this restaurant out and I'm upset. I'm upset that I didn't try this place sooner! The food here is delicious! They offer a good variety of ramen and choices of toppings. Started off with the Spicy Cheese Gyoza and that was just delicious. Pork Gyoza topped with toasted mozzarella, chili oil, more ground pork, and delicious soft tomatos. Dip it in the accompanying sauce for a flavor blast in your mouth. Tried the Tan tan ramen, but was feeling more garlicy so I added black garlic oil and an Ajitama Egg to the mix. The ramen came wish some baby spinach, ground pork, bamboo shoots and the broth came with great flavor. Junpuu does not serve alcohol but it is BYOB so a nice sake would go great with the selection here. Definitely coming back here to try their other ramen flavors and the charsiu quesadilla!

Causal dining with awesome table fans! The food was flavorful and the price was worth it. Would recommend for a nice casual date spot. I dined by myself and the team was very attentive and allowed me to switch tables for my comfort.

Great ramen! The garlic gyoza was so good. And it’s short walk from the art museum too. I wanted to buy a Junpuu shirt but they only had XL 😢Next time. Thank you Junpuu Best Roger and Rita

Delicious ramen and great customer service. We ordered ramen and gyoza. I got miso ramen with added toppings. The egg is the best part of the dish for me followed by the men/noodles. I loved their noodles being al dente and not mushy. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Parking available in back of the building.
