I asked for an assessment of the meal I ordered and he gave an honest answer which turned out to be true so salute to the waiter for being honest with me. If you just want to go here because lots of people have gone then by all means go, but the hype and the food will not match up.

Dukeā€™s serves the best and most potent Mai Tais in Waikiki. They have great fresh seafood and donā€™t leave until you have their Hula Pie. Itā€™s made with creamy macadamia nut ice cream and slathered in hot fudge sauce, then sprinkled with chopped nuts. Soooooo good!!!!!

Nice ambiance and atmosphere. Drinks and food was a bit pricey for little alcohol content and dry rice. Salad bar was great worth the $5. Good live music! There are a lot more restaurants at a much more reasonable price with more to offer than waiting for a spot at Dukes. Glad I went but wonā€™t be coming back!

Great breakfast buffet for $25 per person from 7-11am. My family of 5 made reservations for a Saturday for 9am and we still waited for 30 mins before we actually sat down. Another day the three of us came around 10am and sat down right away. The buffet has fried rice, egg benedicts, scrambled eggs, sausages, banana pancakes with coconut sauce, cinnamon french toast, bacon, pastries and all kinds of fruits. It's so worth it for the papaya and pineapple alone.

Such a great experience! We went for our honeymoon on our first night and the hospitality was phenomenal. DEFINITELY make reservations far in advance (especially if you want to sit outside). Live music, beautiful view, delicious food, they made our night magical.

This is a must for tourists as there is a lot of culture about the Duke. The food buffets have good variety, but I feel overpriced for the selection and quality. The service is excellent when you can get in. Sometimes the wait is long, but the views and atmosphere are worth the wait!

The hummus and taco poke were amazing. Sirloin steak was so delicious! Service was amazing. The dessert was weird but interesting- I order that dessert with no sugar gluten and dairy.

The ambience was awesome, with great live music, but the food was just slightly above average. The highlight of the meal for both of us was the salad bar. It was $7 to add it to the meal and it was amazing, with lots of variety. If I were to return, I would order just the salad bar. Our server was friendly, but possibly new. She didn't bring a steak knife for my wife's teriyaki sirloin, and she took a very long time to open and pour the champagne.

Had coconut shrimp (appi), coconut ginger braised seafood, baked Dukeā€™s swordfish(wife) and Pono pie for dessert. Everything was delicious. Dukes mai tai was not watered down like some reviews indicated. Would definitely recommend. Vy ( short form of his name) was a great waiter made the evening out memorable.

First and foremost, do not go for the prime rib buffet. The shrimp had a simply weird texture that made you wonder what happened to it. Even Vegas buffet shrimp are delicacies compared to this weird rubber hard textured stuff. Then, theirs that crusted fish, which, if it were any drier would need to be shredded and made into a tuna fish like spread to get some moisture back into it. Then, there's the prime rib. Yes overly rare, yes chewy, yes just hard to cut, and yes, the outside is way too salty, with the inside fairly flavorless as you've read in other reviews by, obviously, people who know how a decent prime rib should be. If you want prime rib, give the non buffet option a shot, but if they can't get the main buffet item right, I'd move on to something else. My husband's fish, my son's Korean short ribs and the hula pie were good. Service was great and the atmosphere is really what you're paying for.

As a breakfast location, this offers reasonable value compared to some other breakfast places around. Still not cheap, but for $25 per head ($16 for children 19 and under) you get a top quality buffet breakfast with all the local favourites on offer as well as unlimited coffee or sodas. Service can be hit and miss depending on who's waiting on your table, but most of the time it's excellent and given it's a buffet, the only difference is how well they keep your coffee topped up and how long you wait for your bill. The location is also fantastic with an 'open' sea front dining experience with great views.

Very overrated in our opinion. We had reservations for 5:PM, hoping to enjoy a relaxing sunset dinner. Instead the live music was so loud we couldnā€™t even enjoy a conversation. We each had a $20+ 9 oz. Pour of wine and ordered their special of the day (beef ravioli) and a fish dish. The fish was dry and the ravioli tasted OK, but was a visually unpleasant ā€˜grayā€™. Very disappointing evening.

A must when visiting Kauai! The atmosphere, the food and the service were all excellent. Salad bar was so good I took my steak home, which was delicious. Hula pie was plenty for hubby & I to share. I hope to go back again some day.

Awesome beachfront bar and restaurant! Draws a huge crowd. The bar area has open seating so you just need to keep an eye on who's leaving. Good food, the drinks were ok. Prices were reasonable except for the cosmopolitan which was $15.

This review is based on the lunch buffet only. I will definitely not be coming back. For $22 it was poor in presentation and bland in flavor. Dry pulled pork and very fatty bbq chicken. The panini sandwiches were soggy and no better than a grilled cheese on white bread. The salad and fruits were very basic nothing that will make want to come back. The staff were stingy with their smiles and helloā€™s.

Recently enjoyed a breakfast & lunch there. The COVID protocol's put in place about 10 days ago did take away some of the traditional charm. However, the food, services and views (of course) were fantastic. A shout out to both bartenders named Matt (local Matt & Florida Matt). They, and others, provided great service and even allowed me to order some of my old favorites which are not currently on the menu. Great times and look forward to returning in the coming months. My 2 cents. Greg T. BTW: the off-menu fish sandwich is delicious. Get it extra spicy.

When the other bars get too crowded at certain times of the day (4:30-7:30pm), then give Duke's Canoe Club a try.

A great place, great menu and great service. The views out to the water we good, but book in advance to get a good seat. I had the prime rib which was the best I've had. Definitely worth a visit

Breakfast buffet style but don't forget to TIP!! Most of the savory options are pork. Wish they had some non pork options like turkey bacon.

Breakfast is a big NO. We got a nice table right next to the beach but the food was horrendous - school cafeteria quality and style and costs $20 pp. Our server never mentioned that we can order omelet at the table and we had to ask after seeing other tables order. It was the only edible thing. Why ruin a nice ambiance with such mediocre food. Absolutely do not recommend.

Wasnā€™t as close to the beach or beach-view restaurant as I thought it would be, but was good enough. Food was average, but the service was amazing.

One of the few places in Waikiki where the quality matches up to the price. The Ahi was simply amazing, the ambience with live music perfect and the service attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend & make that reservation ASAP because you ainā€™t walking in here!
