This is the beach that the famous scene in "From Here To Eternity" was filmed and more recently "I know what you did last summer" the series was shot in this exact location! Halona Beach Cove is an absolutely stunning site and is a great place to take beautiful pictures. Conveniently close to Honolulu and plenty of parking, make this a massive tourist attraction. This cove also contains a unique blowhole that adventurous tourists can cautionly sneak down to and view all of its glory.

We were here in August when the blowhole isn’t covered with water and people can go down to the bottom. There is a small beach and tons of rock that get hit with violent waves making the place a nice spot to contemplate how you should have booked your Hawaii vacation for a few days longer! Note that the climb down and back up is a little treacherous but still doable.

Most of all the tour buses stop here, but there is a cool secret beach that is a quick walk down from the overlook parking lot. Swimming can be quite treacherous when the surf is up and there's no lifeguards, but it is definitely worth the quick stop, especially away from the more crowded beaches in the area. There is also a small blowhole you can see if the waves are higher.

An old lava tube which spits it water from the crashing ocean wave reassemble a blowhole. Parking lot is often crowded so you might have to wait ~10 mins for a family to finish having their fun before you begin yours. The waves here are fun to watch.

When big waves are rolling over from the middle of the open sea to the rocky shore, some water jets up from the rocky holes ashore while other crashes the rocky coast, making pleasant splashing sounds together with cheers from tourists. What an exciting scene!

We found this during my research on places to stop on a drive around the island. The parking lot is decently sized and the lookout wraps around the parking lot. We think we may have seen the blowhole, but we weren’t sure, so it wasn’t obvious. It was still very scenic with the waves crashing on the rocks. There is also a small bay that it overlooks and we saw a turtle swimming there which was so cool! Please be sure to take your bags with you on your person, don’t leave anything that looks valuable in plain sight, and lock your doors. We saw a young couple who had all of their stuff taken from their car because they left it unlocked. So please be alert and aware of your surroundings. Overall it is a great place to take in some of the beauty of the island as you make your way around.

The Halona Blowhole is a quick stop if you are driving around the coast of O'ahu. There is a pullout that can get packed quickly so if you are driving you may want to stop here early in the day. The blowhole can easily be seen from the lookout and if the waves are coming in then you will easily spot it blowing mist upward.

Beautiful area to spend 10-30 min and take pictures. The waves are hitting the rock in a beautiful way that you never see anywhere.

It's got a nice view at the top but try to make your way down to the small beach. You might find a sunbathing seal sometimes. The beach is small but has a few interesting spots to explore. From lava rock cliffs, to a small cave. Nice for a 30-40min visit

Absolutely fantastic views of the Halona Blowhole - be patient though the hold doesn't always blow as spectacularly as you might expect. Also you get really great views of the Koko Crater & the coastline.

We were searching for a good place that was not too far to watch the sunrise…Halona blowhole lookout was perfect! The blowhole was very active early in the morning. We arrived and there was a couple of people in the parking lot and more arrived a few mins later. It was windy and cold so come prepared if you are coming early in the morning. I can’t picture a more beautiful spot, I’ll be back on my next trip to Oahu ☀️🌅

Great experience! Yes the blowhole is nice, and the area is usually crowded so lock your car. We ventured down the precarious entrance to the wave pool/beach area . Be careful and take your time coming down the rocks for the entrance. The waves can become rapid and dangerous quickly and even more so when the tide comes in so if you want to swim try to arrive on a day where the wind is not as bad and try to go early, we arrived around 9am and stayed till around 12pm. Be careful on the wet rocks because they get slippery.

Really cool beach but don't go beyond that. Pretty rough waters. The blowhole is cool, but not that exciting. My 5-year-old couldn't stop talking about it after we left and for a couple days after, so it's great for kids, but it's no Old Faithful or anything spectacular. Neat to see, but not a must-see.

Beautiful area. There is a hidden beach to do some snorkeling. It is a busy attraction where a lot of buses and shuttles stop. So be patient to get a view.

Beautiful beach to relax if you can get parking. There is a cave lots of people like to walk into and take photos. The water is safer here if you stay towards the front. Don’t swim out

The Halona Blowhole Lookout is a very scenic location and great for making a stop when driving around the island. There were several tour buses parked there so the place was very crowded, but bring your patience and enjoy the beautiful ocean waves as the crash against some amazing rock formations.

This beautiful attraction was part of our Grand Circle Island tour. It features beautiful beaches bordered by volcanic rock shores. As we were driving up, were able to see the blowhole thrusting water high in the windy air, but not once the bus stopped. Nevertheless, it was a sight to see! :-)

Definitely stop here if you have a chance. It’s a quick stop but very much worth it. There is a fair amount of parking available. A lot of people come here while on an organized island tour. I would recommend renting a car and taking your time and do your own private island tour, but make sure this is on your list!

Come for the blowhole, stay for the views. Water is beautiful and the sea is unforgiving. There’s a small area (Kaneohe Bay) where people can swim and enjoy the beach. Access is by parking lot on the side of the highway, best to approach from the west (from Waikiki).

Great views. We did not see the blowhole though but maybe we were blind. Probably are. People definitely didn’t listen to signs about not going over the walls etc. But that’s okay better for pictures and picnics Came across some nice beach spots here as well.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Highly recommend making this a must-see stop.

Very pretty views here. Was told it’s a common area for movie scenes to be filmed. One of my Uber drivers told me that the beach below the lookout has a sign that says no entry but locals have been going there their whole lives. I didn’t go myself because didn’t have time but saw a tourist walking around the beach and rocks at the bottom.

The blowhole is an interesting natural phenomenon, but it isn't something that you would deliberately want to go out of your way for. It really isn't located near anything. If you're cruising around the island and enjoying the scenic views, this is a great stop along the way. Aside from the blowhole, there is a small beach adjacent to the parking area, but it is small and definitely not very swimming friendly.

The blowhole is most active when the tide is high and the winds are strong. Unfortunately when we were there, these conditions were absent and we could not see any waves being caused to shoot high up. Nevertheless, the scenery in the surrounding areas is gorgeous. Many cars stopped here to view the beautiful scenery

Got these beautiful shots here at the blowhole to get the best view of the blowhole you must climb down the hill by the road to the beach at the bottom, take the Little Rock road on the side and walk to the blowhole. Warning please wear proper shoes as the rock is razor sharp and you can easily cut yourself. There was mini drizzle rain today in December and go to see an amazing double rainbow. The crowds are minimal this time of the year during the summer it’s crazy busy.

Absolutely breath taking. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Honolulu,Hawaii. The view is something else. Be prepared to wait for a parking spot though, however it's well worth the wait.

A beautiful natural feature that is well worth visiting. The blowhole isn't always active, depending on the waves and the weather but the views are spectacular nevertheless. There is parking but it can be difficult to get to. Alternatively you can see this place via the trolley (green or blue line, forgot which).

Tide is definitely a primary, if not the only, factor on this experience. The parking is a bit congested and is disguised as s typical scenic lookout but a bit larger. Once you park you will quickly see where to go by watching other people and you'll have to look pretty hard to see the actual hole if the tide is too low. It's probably be the spot where alot of people are climbing down to passing the "do not cross" signs. If the tide is high, you will see the hole fill with water and what comes next is truly an awesome experience. A nice and quick spot to stretch your legs and see some beautiful views regardless of the tide.

This was a great sightseeing opportunity. You have to watch the tide times if you want to see the 'blowout' feature, but it's still a great beach
