Our dog really enjoys this park. We like to go later in the afternoon and there were usually 1-5 other small dogs for him to play with. There is nearby free parking behind the school athletic fields. As others mentioned, the park is small and there is not too much shade. If you are looking for a larger park with more shade, try the park near Diamond Head.

You wouldn't know there's even a dog park so close to Waikiki its so hidden. Its in a really nice place and its so peaceful here. I wish it was a little bigger but its a very nice dog park.

The dog park area has separate areas for large and small dogs. Given the size of Ala Wai Park, they could have made the dog park area much larger. The small dog side had at least 15 dogs in it. While it's great to have a place to let him off the leash, the area is too confined for so many dogs.

Tiny dog park with two areas near the high school, one for smaller dogs. Parking is tough so walk if you can. Grass is a tad dry. The ala wai nearby is calming and there are usually nice people at this park with their pouches.

Great place for dogs to play and socialize. Completely fenced in with a double gate entrance, there are two separate sides, one for big dogs, and one for small dogs. Water is available one both sides to keep your canine friends hydrated. Benches are available for the humans sit and watch the four legged fun.

Cons:Not well taken care off, not much for pet to do other the run and play with toys I thought it would have pet equipment, it doesnt. Not much shade Pros: water Available, people pick up after their pets so not poop on the ground, big and little dog areas are separate.

Way too small. The long walk to get to it will exercise your dog well enough, and it has a water fountain and the community leaves bowls for the dogs.

Very nice little park, right on the Ala Wai. Two large fenced areas - one for small dogs, the other for large. Plenty of water and bowls, tennis balls and some toys. Very clean and upkept. Enjoyable afternoon sitting on a shaded bench watching the dogs play. 🙂

Nice but small fenced in areas for small and big dogs. Not much shade for mid-day play. I’d only go early morning or late afternoon (when most dogs come to play).

Pretty nice on a Sunday morning. It wasn't groomed at all but the privacy made up for it. Tiny as advertised. They walk on the bike road to get there was interesting because it was beside the canal. Bums abound so be alert.

Clean. Area for small and large dogs, option to let them intermix. Bathrooms nearby. Parking lot is straight ahead between playgrounds, not to the last left as navigation suggests.

I take my dog to Ala Wai everyday. She likes the walk there, along with the regulars and their dogs. Lots of space to roam, and play catch. The other park goers, and their pets are friendly, too.

Small place but it's something. It's a bit of a walk to get to from any parking. Nice shade trees and park bench.
