One of my few favorite beaches on the east side. Pretty open most of the time. Not many tourists and you can camp here too. Beach is wide and waves great for swimming. There is a restroom area and it was clean along with the entire area. I’ve been here with only 10 people and the. Again over 100 but there is still lots of room to hang out with friends or just chill for a few hours.

My go to place for camping.... restrooms are usually clean and stocked with toilet paper. There are also showers. Parking is limited and there are HUGE potholes all over so be careful of this obstacle course!!!! Also, a number of homeless are dotted around the perimeter of the road leading to the beach areas but have never been an issue for our family but be AWARE.... we try to leave valuables at home and are sure to lock up our vehicles. There is a McDonald's and a couple of convenient store close by however I recommend shopping before hand if can....

Beautiful beach in a very dangerous neighborhood, got to drive past all the homeless tents, and a traffic sign that says "high theft area" to get here.

This beach is a hidden gem with waters you can comfortably swim in (compared to some of the other rougher waves at some nearby beaches). We actually ended up here twice because of the abundance of parking compared to Kailua Beach craziness, and some of the other more popular beaches that get beyond crowded on the weekend days and are impossible to park.

Soft sand, not crowded, no coral or rocks, plenty of bathrooms and parking. Perfect spot. Edit: It gets extremely crowded for holiday weekends. Also, now that COVID restrictions have eased, people are out in full force. Get here a little earlier to find a good spot. Lots of parking, but can get full.

My favorite beach in Oahu 😍 perfect place to bodyboard. Good waves but water is only at your waist level (I’m 5’2”), very safe to play in water~

Quiet beach if you want to get away from Waikiki. Great ocean and Mountain View’s both at the beach and to and from. This is my favorite drive to and from Waikiki after seeing all of the island with many scenic pull offs.

Really good to bodyboard at. But not the type of beach you should be swimming at. The waves got a little rough. So I don't recommend small children to go in the water without a floating device.

Peaceful and serene. The birds flying chirping to their own tune, along with the crystal clear waves crashing onto the whitest shoreline ever, cap with a breath taking sunrise, absolutely priceless. Bless to be from Wai -I'am-Nalo, simple because of morning moments like this. GREAT BEACH.

Great beach with bigger waves than Lanikai, so better to body board in. There is JELLYFISH this time of year, so watch out!

Most beautiful beach on the planet. Absolutely loved it there. It’s a favourite and special place I will never forget. The place where we exchanged our wedding vows on November 7th 2019. As large of an are this is we felt like we were the only ones there. Very secluded and private. I can’t say enough about this place. Go there if you can. It’s next level paradise.

Very convenient parking for about 100 cars, clean bathrooms and attentive lifeguards. Trees provide some cool shade. Suitable for children and families to enjoy some fun in the sun!

My favorite beach. There are restrooms, showers, lifeguards, and ample parking. Considering they have a full set up, it’s not crowded and maintains a peaceful charm. Also, they have beautiful picturesque soft sandy beaches, no shells stabbing your feet like you would find in Waikiki.

Awesome fun powerful waves with a white sandy beach, no reef, perfect for boogie boarding and body surfing, playing volleyball in the sand, football passing. It has plenty of sun and Norfolk pines for shade and hammocks. Bath house with showers. Lifeguard on duty. And a pretty good cell phone service.

Water wasn'tcrowded, plenty of Shade from pine trees, some parking, and a rest room. No rentals or food stands available so bring your own surf gear, fun, and food. Also good views for wedding photos.

It’s one of most beautiful beaches on Oahu for families from all ages. It’s friendly for kids and easy access for parking and restrooms and showers. One of my favorite spots for body boarding.

Lovely water and soft sand. A good place to feel the waves. There are enough trees near the shore to provide shade. Long enough to be not crowded. Relaxing~~~

Great experience visting with family with little kids. Beautiful beach with surreal surrounding natural beauty. Waves were a little strong on the day we visited but we had a great time. We had no trouble reaching the spot. Parking spots were limited but luckily we had no issues.

Awesome beach, nice waves, fine sand and quiet

  • 5/5 Dan H. 11 months ago on Google
Of the 4 beaches we visited this was by far my favorite! Nice sand, great water, this is more of a surf, swim kind of beach. No snorkeling. Hardly any people here so we had the beach to ourselves the 3 times we went.

A lifeguard recommended me this beach when I tried to swim at Sandy Beach, and it became one of my two favorite beaches on the island (the other is Lanikai Beach). The waves here are great, the water is a beautiful turquoise, the sand is gorgeous, and it was practically empty most days I came. There are tents on some parts of the beach, but I felt safe and overjoyed to swim here.

Wonderful beach that is secluded and has very little traffic. We only found it when we were on a private tour. Amazing though. Picturesque and that what you would find on a postcard.

It is awesome, today it is very windy and sunny. Bathrooms are always clean and stocked with toilet tissue. It is actually pretty quite by the picnic tables.

The water is much cooler and refreshing to the skin, compared to waikiki beaches and west side beaches I've been to. As a person from Hilo, our beaches are much more colder than Oahu beaches. I find Sherwood as the one place I can relate to Hilo beaches. Also not as packed, Id say mostly locals and few tourists were here this day.

Beautiful beach and area, should be kept as a site to see and not developed.

The surf here is so calm and easy! Perfect for a lounge or kayaking. Favourite beach.

  • 3/5 Todd F. 4 years ago on Google
The beach is mostly quiet and clean. The restrooms are functional, but be aware they can be the hang out for drunks or vagrants. We did not camp, but we did see tents with camp fires so I suppose camping is permitted. It also seems to be a popular wedding location. We witnessed 3 different weddings.

Got married on this beach. Only problem was the people who didn't clean up their trash behind them. Other than that. White sandy beaches and blue water.

👍👍 This is a beautiful, well kept beach that is not overly crowded. There are restroom facilities and showers on the South end, by a car park. If you want a break from the crowds, but would still like to enjoy the beach, I highly encourage a visit here.
