I highly recommend booking a boat trip with this cruise line. The boat is very clean. The restroom is clean they keep the quarters downstairs and up top clean. They have amazing drinks the bartenders are amazing. They will even let you sail the ship if it is your birthday.

It was a 10/10 using go city pass. Definitely worth the money. Night view and sunset was awesome, sailing was smooth, music and alcohol beverage served was delicious and clues were friendly, energetic and polite.

Once in a lifetime experience!! The lively and entertaining crew helped everyone get great photos at the front of the boat!! And you can't beat the open bar!! At the end, the boat stopped at the perfect spot to get good sunset photos until it was all the way down. This was definitely one of our favorite excursions on the island & the best crew we encountered!! Recommend 10 out of 10!!

Captain Brad and his crew Pancho and Brad took real good care of us! We got spectacular views of Waikiki and Diamond Head (though we spotted no whales on this voyage). If you purchase a Go Oahu 3-day pass, a sunset catamaran excursion with Makani is included, with open bar. I highly recommend passion-orange-guava juice with a dash of coconut rum. Make sure to drink plenty of water too. Tip these lovely souls well!

Wonderful experience and crew. Loved that they gave tips for people that are prone to seasickness like myself (sit in the back of the boat, avoid going inside the cabin, etc.). The drinks and music were decent and they kept the group size small enough that I was able to keep enough personal space and enjoy the views. PS - I used my GoCity pass to book this the day of and was very impressed that they were able to get me in. Also, stop by the food truck for the pineapple smoothies in a fresh pineapple on your way there or out - they were delicious and can be brought onboard!

Crew was great but we went much farther out than I thought we would and it got pretty choppy. Would not recommend if you get seasick at all, I don’t ever get seasick but even I was queasy and that was after taking a Dramamine. Besides that, the boat is pretty good sized, the sunset was gorgeous and the drinks were good!

I would rate 6 stars if humanly possible. The crew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails are great, get the souvenir cup and get blasted. Tip your bartenders heavy early on and they'll look out for you. If we had time we'd do it again!

Very friendly and helpful staff, my daughter and I both felt sea sick on the ride and they helped us with ice, aromatherapy and buckets. The rest of the family really enjoyed the excursion, so I would just recommend taking motion sickness meds so that you can enjoy the full experience! Nice length of trip and fun atmosphere 😊

We had a wonderful time! The crew and captain were very friendly and did a great job running the boat and bar. Drinks included were well made, crew was great to talk to! Great sized catamaran, we had about 50 of us, plenty of room. Vessel can hold up to 80 supposedly.

We went on the 2pm Fun in the Sun cruise and has an amazing time. The crew of Georgia, Julie and Captain Gabriel were just fantastic! We sat at the front of the catamaran and enjoyed beautiful views of Waikiki from the sea. Loved every minute of it!

Such a beautiful ride! We even saw baby whales! The open bar was a MUST have! The bikini dropper was DELICIOUS! We got some beautiful pictures of the shoreline of Waikiki and Diamondhead from the boat. Best cruise by far!

The sunset cruise was a great way to view the skyline and sunset. We experienced a double rainbow that was more vibrant than I've ever seen. The captain and crew were very friendly and answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun activity for the evening.

Did the fireworks cruise, the sailing itself was nice. However before hand after checking in they told us to be back at 730, we came back at 727 only to find they already lifted the ramp and were preparing to leave without us, the front desk person nonchalantly just said that we’d have to run and flag them down and didn’t seem bothered. When we came up to the boat they said they were only missing 2 people (we had 4) when we said we had already checked in they looked confused but let us on. Not only did they almost leave without us despite being on time, were apathetic, but they also did not even have a proper head count on the boat, a major safety issue.

Amazing cruise with the nicest cocktails I have had on my trip. We were blessed with the weather and the bonus of the full moon. The crew was awesome too!

This is our second time taking the Makani Catamaran and it was even better than the first. The crew was fantastic. Lots of good conversation and knowledge. Drinks were great. We were able to see a few pods of dolphins who out on a show for us. Also got to see a few sea turtles! Amazing experience that I’d highly recommend!

We took an afternoon sail and it was fantastic! The crew was extremely nice, the drinks were good, the sailing was relaxing and very enjoyable. Such a beautiful way to spend a few hours.

I have been on numerous sailing trips and those were decent, however sailing with Makani was a whole another level of amazing. Infinite drinks 🍹 which included alcoholic and nonalcoholic ones perfect for relaxing during the sunset sail. Also, keep a lookout for the rare sightings of sperm whales 🐋 Highly recommended for travelers who enjoy a relaxing time!

We did the 2pm catamaran ride mainly because it was an option for the Go Oahu Pass. It was SOOO amazing! All of the employees on the boat were hardworking and friendly, like they wanted to be there. The ride was so fun--parts were powering through waves, and parts were under sail power. They didn't pack it to full, so there was room for everyone. Pretty much everyone that wanted to sit on the nets had space to do so, and there were other options both above board and inside for people that didn't want to. We sat right at the very front of the net and had the best of views and great breezes. I would highly recommend this!

Always a great sail and great crew! Thanks again for making the trip to the busy downtown worthwhile, only to find ourselves free on the ocean waves, relaxing and peaceful and fun!

  • 5/5 Matthew K. 2 years ago on Google
An absolutely gorgeous ride! The crew takes you out from the harbor near downtown Honolulu past Waikiki several hundred feet from the shore. You go out towards diamond head and then out to sea a bit where they open up the sail. There are drinks you can buy onboard both alcoholic and non, the crew is great at what they do and very kind, and the views are stunning as well! The best part is you have the chance to see turtles, seals, and other wildlife on the trip which makes it worthwhile although not guaranteed. Parking is available right across from the check-in booth in the harbor area with a pay station in the middle of where the spots are. If you struggle with motion sickness then the front of the boat is better than the rear to me since I struggle with that as well.

The staff was so nice and the experience was great. It was so easy to board and start the sail. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see Waikiki and diamond head from the ocean! Beautiful views.

Hands down the best experience we had in Hawaii. We chose to do the sunset sail with open bar and it was fabulous. The staff are the nicest people and when we missed out first day they were happy to reschedule for us no charge. We will literally go back for the same sail every time and probably try some of the other excursions as well. It’s a must!

This experience was so lovely. Service from the get-go was great! Super friendly and kind. They make you feel like family right off the bat and set the tone for the rest of the journey. The bartender is a sweet heart, Drink prices are awesome, get the refillable cup!! The ride doesn't feel as long as it truly is, it's just pleasant and relaxing. Got to experience a Hawaiian sunset with my loved ones and great company. This company is great, if you can make some time during your trip to unwind and take a little romantic boat ride, do it! You won't regret it, especially not with Makani!

Large catamaran with plenty of spapce 2 bathrooms on board. This crew was fun and informative. We took a two hour ride @ 2pm. Boat was clean and crew was friendly with everyone. We motored out to the sea for quite a bit. We saw spinning dolphins, sea turtles and got a great view of Diamond Head. They did have alcohol for sale on board the Catamaran and they do take credit cards and cash. This is a must do activity just make sure to reapply your sunscreen before boarding.

Boat is spectacular. The crew is friendly. Hawaii itself provides all the rest. The view of Diamond head from the water is a must see. We didn't see any ocean life but hard to put that in as a demand.

We enjoyed our fun in the sun day cruise! We were excited because got to see a whale! We also saw some sea turtles and got to sit and relax as we sailed. If you are wanting laid back and relaxing, this is for you! The drinks were great and pricing was good! The staff are all so friendly!

Great sail along the ocean! Views were breathtaking and the breeze was wonderful on such a hot day. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were also fantastic bartenders! Would definitely recommend this!

It was an amazing experience. Captain Christina was amazing and she tried her best to find us a whale. Even though we couldn't see one, we saw numerous turtles and had a wonderful time. We saw double rainbow with our sunset sail!!!!

  • 5/5 Seraphina A. 8 months ago on Google
We had an enjoyable 2 hr. sail. Crew was friendly and humorous, even offered to take our photos. Boat did not feel congested at all so we had ample room to roam, take photos and relax. Waters became a bit rough at one point but never to the point of feeling seasick. We had a wonderful morning!

Great way to see another view of Honolulu! We got lucky and was able to see a mom and baby humpback whale. Great for families (although I would recommend children older than 6 as it might be a little more relaxing without the worry)

  • 5/5 Joe G. 8 months ago on Google
Amazing crew - Captain Brad and team did a great job. Views were amazing - I enjoyed just standing in the front of the boat and feeling the wind in my face. I was there when the winds were crazy and it was so fun riding up and down the waves - although it does cause seasickness in some people. Did this through the Gocity pass.

Just had a tour with Makani and absolutely loved it! Lots of space and great views on the two-hour tour to relax and look at the scenery and wildlife. We saw multiple turtles, flying fish, and a crazy long dragon-looking fish I have no idea what it was and more. The staff were so colorful and fun and I had a blast getting a few drinks and chatting a bit. What an awesome experience, I hear you can charter the boat with a group and that sounds awesome! I definitely want to take another ride in the future, wow!

Good fun! Great staff! Enjoyable for ALL ages. Wonderful views of Diamond Head and beaches. We were also blessed to see a school of dolphins.

The crew is amazing! We saw a huge group of dolphins. So fun. Went a few months back on the Friday night fireworks cruise and had a great time then too.

Easy booking experience, quick check in process. Delicious açaí bowl at the food truck down the road. Beautiful cruise, delicious drinks, all the crew were so nice! We even caught a surprise drone Christmas light show on the way back into the harbor.

What a fantastic group of people! We went on the New Year’s Eve fireworks cruise and it was SPECTACULAR! Best I’ve ever seen. The Captain and Crew did a great job. They made it clear that safety came before everything, and a very close second was our comfort and enjoyment. They did great on all facets. Highly recommend. A few days later we took a sunset cruise. Again, the Captain and crew were amazing. The sunset was not great because of overcast, so the Captain said “let’s go find whales”. And we did exactly that. We got educated on the whales and we saw three different pods. It was an amazing cruise. And, as fate would have it, the clouds parted right at the last minute and gave us the sunset below. These folks deserve the highest of the best ratings. Schedule a cruise with them, you will be a hero to your family.
