Listen no one enjoys having to go to the hospital! I had the unfortunate pleasure of having to take a trip to the emergency room. Normally I am filled with anxiety and stress, and that is when we were allowed to have someone with us. Now alone, in a great deal of discomfort, and filled with concern, I was scared. However, everyone in the hospital went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and supported! I was greeted by one of the most friendly security personnel who wished me to be well. Having difficulty walking the woman at the check-in desk went out of her way to make me comfortable until I was taken to a room. The nurse who took all the usually first stage vitals and symptoms check helped me relax, was friendly, and even though everyone wore a mask you could still feel her smile! The doctor went out of his way to fix the problem with my foot. It was not an easy process and though I was worried he talked me through every step, reassured, and comforted me. The best bedside manner I've seen in a long time from a doctor. The radiologic technologists/x-ray techs who came to my room to x-ray my foot were absolutely lovely! They made me laugh and once done brought me a warm blanket to help me be more comfortable! The discharge nurse who came and wrapped my foot ugh I wish I could have hugged her! She wrapped me with care, we bonded over foot problems and footwear! The nurses who fixed my crutches and wheeled me to my car! I can not stress enough the care and compassion I received! While physically there without a loved one at no time did the staff ever allow me to feel alone. Let me end with saying if you were working the ER Tuesday May 18th, 2021 5:40pm - 8:30pm thank you! Your compassion, empathy, and dedication makes a difference!

I visited Hawaii with my husband, while on our trip, I was stung by a sea urchin. This was our first time experiencing such an incident, and we became quite worried, so we decided to visit a nearby hospital to have it checked out. Upon arrival, a friendly young male nurse took a quick look at my injury and assured us that everything was fine. He advised me to monitor the area and return if there were any further complications. No tests were conducted, and the interaction lasted only two minutes. We were told we could leave without any charge. However, shortly after, a Filipina nurse with a commanding tone arrived on the scene and insisted that I fill out some forms and pay for the visit. I politely inquired about the amount I would need to pay, and she coldly replied that it was not her job to provide such information. I was asked to provide personal information and show our identification, including the hotel where we were staying. Later, we received a bill for $309 without any explanation for why the amount was so high. We had not undergone any tests or had an extended consultation. I am not saying that I won't pay the amount, but I find it ridiculous to pay such a large sum when no tests were done and there was no extensive interaction. I also cannot help but judge the Filipina nurse for her attitude and feel sorry for those who have to work with her or work under her. Am I the one in the wrong for feeling this way?

What a hit or miss place!! I gotta tell about my last night experience. The triage nurse and I guess who helped me out to rude. Then another nurse told him I’m allergic to the medicine gave me anyways got rashes and hives so bad that I had to have Benadryl and now I can’t do my allergy test that I’ve waited for months for!! The doctor says oh I’m sorry it wasn’t on the chart. Well duh I told you. So frustrated!! I’ve had couple good times. But living in Haleiwa when I just can’t make it to queens this is where I go. They good for broken bones or to pull out bee from ear but anything more I don’t think so!!

I came here because I was dehydrated from my pregnancy & I overheard the people at the desk “another patient?! Ugh” are you kidding me? Go work somewhere else… this isn’t the field for you if you act like that. I work in the medical field and I could never imagine being that rude about patients.

Throughout my career I have dealt with and been a part of alot of HR groups, but I have never seen such a level of unprofessionalism like there is at the HR staff at Wahiawa General Hospital on Oahu Hawaii. They will coerce you into believing that you have a position but lie to you. Don't apply to work there..choose McDonald's...at least you get some food out of it. Instead of lies.

They treated my mother soo well in the emergency room and ran all the necessary test to ensure her health issues were not life threatening.

Can’t say enough good things about the treatment provided and the people at the Wahiawa General Hospital Emergency Room. Response was quick, status updates were timely, and quality was top notch. Many thanks to Dr. Maria, Stephanie, Dayna, Dr. Smith, JackieLou, Tina, Denise, and a special nod to Steven who provided us with his charging cable helping us to keep our loved ones informed! An ideal group in an unideal situation. Thanks very much for your attention to our needs. We owe ya!

Minimal care. Staff was friendly but provided me with minimal care barely got bandaids and cleaning of wounds before discharge. Left me lying with open doors for everyone to see. No assistance going to the bathroom as I could barely walk, nurses laughter made me uncomfortable. Doctor left medical decisions ‘up to me’ and didn’t prescribed any wound care. I came via ambulance after a car accident. Lame. Go anywhere else!! Will never agree to be transported here again. Worst hospital ever!

THE MOST PROFESSIONAL and FRIENDLIEST hospital I've EVER been to. I use to live in Raleigh NC and they're called the research triangle. They're supposed to have the best health care in the US. Here in HAWAII at this hospital they made me feel like I was at HOME. I kinda didn't want to leave but, I knew it was time to go back home ☺️ I just wanted to THANK Y'ALL SO VERY MUCH for taking such good care of me ❤️

I came in with a bad stomachache and after 3 hours of waiting and blood work, they just sent home and said I didn't have anything. I do NOT recommend this place at all

My husband got injured while swimming and ended up with 2 minor stitches. The doctor and nurses in the ER room were very friendly, helpful, and professional. Glad we went here to take care of the injury.

Staff does not seem to have the institutional deafness of other ERs and these guys seem actually friendly, like they care for you. Really attentive and professional they will take initiative unlike Kahuku or much of Kaiser system.

I received an email from a provider at the hospital to register with a patient communication portal. There was no information about the provider which makes it difficult to make appointment. The email provided a phone which I called. Unfortunately it went to the ER and the person who answered the call was so rude and not ready to assist in anyway. It's unfathomable how someone works in a hospital without compassion. This happened on July 15, 2022 around 11:10 pm. The person who answered the call was a male. Poor customer service.

I'm from Florida and visiting my daughter. I became ill (covid) and visited this ER. I was seen right away. All the staff, from receptionist all the way to the doctor, were very professional, friendly, kind and gentle. Nice to receive that kind of care so far from my home. Thank you.

My review is solely based on our treatment experience post check in. We’ve had to take our 5 year child on 3 separate occasions to this hospital & our experiences have all been amazing! All the nurses, doctors, PAs, we’ve seen have been very knowledgeable, patient, & caring. The staff is also efficient, so thankfully we have not had to wait long overall in the ER. I much rather take my children for treatment at this ER than to the urgent care that’s down the street from us. I will add that the “welcoming” person (not triage nurse) sighed so loudly when she realized how many people were waiting to be checked in. It was unprofessional. Besides that, I recommend this ER 100%.

From the states on vacation and needed a doctor for my mother. I brought her to the ER here and was waited on right away. She was treated with great care from the moment she arrived until discharge. Such wonderful people work here.

My experience wasn't to Goodlettsville in throwing up tummy soar. Needed to use bathroom no one came doc told me wait I ended up peeing myself no one helped me they gave me nausea meds still was throwing upnothing was done it also felt like a freezer in there. Never again if gotta I will take myself to another hospital. Staff standing around talking stories instead of doing what needs to.

Genuinely surprised by the negative comments. Visiting your island from the mainland, I came in seeking relief from severe abdominal pain. After a CT scan and bloodwork, my constipation pain and nausea was actually a by product of kidney stones. The imaging staff, nurses, PA and front desk folks were all extremely friendly, efficient, courteous and compassionate. Solid 5-star rating! Thanks especially to Jason for assisting me in getting an alternative pain medication.

I can't say enough great things about the staff and patient care here at WGH! I've (unfortunately) had to bring my children here to the ER on two separate occasions - the most recent being a nasty arm break for my son - and each time has been a positive experience. We live in the next town over, in Mililani, so Wahiawa General is our closest ER when we need it. When I brought my son into the ER for his broken arm, the staff here worked quickly and efficiently and probably made my son's experience as least painful and scary as it could be (there was still a major break so it couldn't be totally pain-free). Everyone (from intake, to the nursing staff, to the ER techs, radiology, and even the Doctors) were friendly, and most importantly, compassionate. They take the time to explain things and then provide options with how to proceed, allowing for questions and answers along the way. I've been in several health facilities where things have been rushed or forced and thats just not the case here - the level of service here is phenomenal! The rooms are clean, the equipment and tools are clean. I'm so grateful to everyone for providing the care and treatment to my children the way that they did! It's a scary thing to have to take your kids to the ER! I also wanted to add that when I brought my youngest daughter in on October 2021, the staff gave her a stuffed teddy 💜 She still has the teddy and sleeps with it every night.

Shocked over the bad reviews. Had to take my oldest daughter in today for a head injury and the staff was amazing. Been in the army for 12 years and one of if not the best hospital I’ve been to since I’ve been in

The Emergency Room doctor, the MD student, and the nurse I had were all amazing. They worked very fast and efficient to get me results and out of there.

Went to the ER here twice in a few days because I knew something was wrong with my throat. All they did was test me negative for strep and then essentially sent me home with nothing, after I asked them if antibiotics would be a good call. Now I’m stuck in a different hospital overnight for a few days because I likely have lemierres disease, something that could have been stopped early on if they just gave me antibiotics. I told them I was in pain and their only advice was essentially just to wait out the unpleasantness.

Terrible. My son broke his arm and they told us they could not refer us to an orthopedic doc after carelessly splinting his arm. This isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had there either!

Emergency room was great after that. All else was 2 star. When trying to locate wife who was the patient call and was sent on a wild goose chase try to find her. This place is like 1960 movie in the wards.

Wahiawa Hospital has been my go to in early 2019 and again in early to late 2020. non-covid related. other health conditions. i've been suffering from on going unknown tachycardia episode symptoms since even before 2019. how long precisely I don't know but it's gotten worse and debilitating in the last 6 years (2016-ish). mostly in the last 3 specifically. i want to give WGH a perfect score of 5 stars out of 5 considering I've went there quite frequently in the last 3 years and they've been compassionate and understanding. very patient with me as well. however— there was this one vist for a syncope+ hypertensive crisis+ tachycardia episode I had in the wee hours of the morning, winter ❄️ last year around 5 am and it was raining. when I was cleared of health concerns yet again after blood tests and x rays and general examination/questioning I didn't have a ride home that particular night. since it was early I wanted to wait for family and friends to naturally awake themselves then I'd call for someone to pick me up. didn't want to harass anyone for help so early. so I sat and waited underneath the shelter of the hospital from the rain 🌧️ to wait until daylight. thing is. security told me to leave due to a no loitering rule. he essentially kicked me out in the cold rain with strong wind even after I told him I'm just there temporarily to wait for everyone to wake up naturally as to not disturb them. he wasn't having any of that. i left the premises as instructed. didn't want to cause any trouble especially since the nurses, doctors and other staff have been great there in almost all sceneries. so. technically my medical help there is a 5 star experience as I've been helped every single occasion even if they still couldn't precisely figure out what my exact health issue is although some doctor's there have theories. (I think I discovered it by accident. a lady friend of mine says it sounds like POTS something she's suffered with since she was in her late teens in the late 2000s.) the only downside is the security guard rules. if you go there you'll get good medical help, friendly team of nurses and doctors with tests. that's what matters most. but don't stick around if you are well enough to leave and are discharged or you'll be kicked out.

I was amazed at how well the hospital, overall, took care of me during a visit. Everyone was very caring and nice and listened to me as a patient. I think the hospital has made a lot of changes to make their medical practice economical and genuine and excellent. Thank you!!
